  1. Can you give me some examples. I disagree with all three points. Nit everyone would agree. Give me a few hours.
  2. Pioneer Those men are Zen masters. There's is no ambition. There needs are met what di they need to improve. I am not making a statement about the morality or fairness or equity. Luke Lebron they are at the top of their game. You can even argue they function ad a societal warning.
  3. Del, of course there are things you can say that are better for others. It is better for people not to wantonly kill others, and so forth. Wouldn't you agree? No I don't exactly agree with you. There have been killings that lead to good. Like examining why people kill. I would say ethics is more tactical. Whereas morals has a philosophical undertow. Most professions have a code of ethics. Whereas religion has morality tales. Ethics are in place to keep you from harming others. Morality is for not getting ostracised by a group of your peers. It is more likely to involve guilt, then financial penalties. Although there can be some overlap. It id from what the person feels not the sanctions of the governing body.
  4. Cynique- Is it change or rather the decision/decision process to change, that us ambiguous. I don't think I am qualified to say what id better for someone else, when it's almost impossible. To judge where The Butterfly Effect will take you.
  5. Troy - When I said it needs to work for me, it isn't from a moral point if view. At the same time my decision do have an ethical component. As an aside morality is agreed by the group you belong to. Ethics for me is more fairness in interactions.
  6. Perhaps not, I just ask if it works for me.
  7. Sometimes I'll change something because it doesn't work. Not certain if that qualifies as an improvement. I just look at things as working or not working.
  8. Nothing i just live like i am going to die. I don't rationalize may behaviour good or bad. I don't try and improve myself. I just try to be as honest as possible, although most people are delusional myself included.
  9. What do you consistently do to become a better person?
  10. I'd be more concerned about the rinse on your brain from the media. Unless you are planning a revolution.
  11. The satelites that make mobiles, GPS, and telecommunications possible are also used for the military. Which is why China and the Russians have launched their own satellites. Also the internet is built on a military platform. I believe it was called Arpanet or Arapanet.
  12. It ain't about colour, it's always been about wealth and power.
  13. Pioneer - Miles Davis said something interesting about Prince. He said Prince guy away with sexism and misogyny in his musical, because he sounded girlish. Whereas you couldn't sing about the same things with bass in your voice. Lets look ar it the other eat around. Do we currently have light skin Thug rappers, and di we have dark skin crooners. I kind if stopped listening to music do I wouldn't know. I think you will gave a hard time marketing intelligence ae a desired quality. Unless you can tie it into wealth: millionaire computer nerds. I don't know about you but I haven't seen that many time models that value solely intelligence. You may have intelligence and some other quality, or cunning/street wise.
  14. Troy - I have been quite fortunate, in other countries as well. However it dies make me think if the paths of Denzel and Weskey.
  15. I have to say that Strip Club Queens is on of the more interesting things I have come across. It's women with problems.
  16. Okay then why did you misspell Lamont's name twice. Also based on your answer I know that you didn't understand my post about series. Since you mentioned movies and tv specials.
  17. Troy - I admire your honesty and complexity.
  18. You may want to check again. I actually wasn't sure about how to spell Ron's name. However I knew who Troy was talking about in his post. If you are going to be a stickler make sure you get it right. Or not. The correct spelling is Lamont.
  19. Thanks Pioneer - I saw the reverse situation in Boston at Uni. The non US blacks didn't associate with the Blacks from Boston, but they would talk to me.
  20. I guess for me the tourist are financially supporting the church with minimal cost for the church. There's is the economic side of running a church. And if we are talking non Catholic then financing is a bit of am issue.
  21. I see your point. However I think attendance is probably down at churches except for Super churches. Churches that market themselves or have a TV show. I guess for me if it is the choice of less financially stable church that doesn't have funds to assist the community versus slick packaging. I'll take slick packaging. A few decades ago I heard Minister Farrakhan talk about economic independence. He said it was key and to Jeff a little if you have to do so. Perhaps it is a bit mercenary are maybe to market driven. We are in a agreement i think if an audience member wants an authentic experience. I wouldn't be taken them because they are really after entertainment. The tours provide a way that i believe is less harmful although you could argue that it isn't beneficial. I think it is just a more savvy method than the cake sale or selling dinners. How many people do you know that church is a part of their life.
  22. Actually Cotton was written by Chester Himes a very talented and interesting writer. If memory serves Sanford and Son was also written by two Black Writers.
