ProfD You provided much food for thought. Although how a person is reared in their first 18 years of life HEAVILY influences their abilities in life, it's still only a FACTOR and not the major determiner. You know I'm big on INTELLIGENCE....lol. And by "intelligence" I don't simply mean how smart a person is or how much they already know but their CAPACITY to learn. I personally believe that if the CAPACITY to learn is limited or simply not there, it doesn't matter HOW a person is raised.....their future is still dismal unless a Miracle is provided for them. How many people both you and I know who were born and raised in wealthy homes with 2 good parents who gave them everything they needed and most of what they wanted to get a good start in life, only for them to fuck it up by choosing to run the streets, join gangs, turn to drug addicts, ect....simply....because? There are SEVERAL FACTORS to success in any society....Capitalist or otherwise. You can even be very successful and prosperous under an oppressive Communist Regime! Just ask Kim Jon Ill and his family....lol

I'd LOVE to see a group of Black police officers show up at a voting station and if they see ANY sign of voter suppression or intimidation by White officials or outside groups they would immediately arrest them, confiscate their equipment, and escort previously denied Black citizens BACK to the voting booth to submit their vote! "Ok, you're under arrest. You're being charged with Voter Intimidation 2nd Degree. Come with me sir" I'd love to see something like that. Why hasn't it happened before? *With all of the hundreds of arrest pictures on the internet, do yall know how long it actually took me to find a picture of a White man being arrested by a Black police officer!?!?!?

This is true. They automatically and institutively believe that the punishment will be harsher for violating a White person so they're less hesitant to do it. Some say even most Black police officers know this which is why you rarely hear about Black police brutality on White citizens. However in my opinion it still goes back to basic intelligence because if Black people have been in this nation for hundreds of years and occupy power at all levels of the society and government, we have the power to exact punishment and other consequences. We don't need to wait for White "permission" to do what's already well within our power and authority. Another example is voting rights............... Why do we need a "voting rights bill" when the Constitution gives ALL citizens (which clearly includes us) the right to vote?

And although they don't actually OWN much of the industry, for some odd reason it seems as if Black people in California are OVER-represented in the entertainment industry especially in regards to Hiphop and movies. Ain't but a handful of Negroes out in California and yet they seemed to dominate the industry back in the early 90s from NWA to Tupac. When I used to go to California back in the 90s I noticed that most of them acted like Black people who grew up in White communities. Not the ONE Black person who grew up in a White household or neighborhood who tends to simply act White; but if you know what I mean a GROUP of Black people who grew up in a mostly White community where they were disconnected from the larger more traditional Black communities. I'm not sure if you understand what I'm saying but I've noticed that Black groups who grow up as tiny minorities in a sea of White people and "disconnected" from larger more traditionally well established Black communities tend to act stereotypical. Less refined but more exaggerated.....especially in criminality. I takes keen insight to understand what I'm saying but I've seen it in little SMALL groups of Black people around the nation who grow up in mostly White areas; and that's what Black folks on the Westcoast remind me of.

Troy Yes, people have three power to choose what they do. Come on man, are you serious? Are you telling me that most people in this society can simply wake up and CHOOSE their occupation at will? No racial discrimination barring them from employment? No sexist discrimination barring them from employment? No criminal record that prevents them from a particular job? No physical or mental disabilities limiting their employment? Come on Troy....you know better than that....lol. Absolutely, but giving us the choice of where we live. Ever heard of RED LINING? And aside from that, their INCOME also limits their choices of residence. Most of the inadequacies of capitalism occur because we practice a perverted form of rife with racism, cronyism, and greed. I agree. I'm not anti-Capitalism. I actually prefer a MIXED economy with some things socialized and others capitalized. However we must keep things in perspective.

Troy Capitalism does a better job of handing these decisions, making them largely the choice of the individual. Does Capitalism allow the individual to choose their own wages? Does Capitalism allow the individual to decide how much they're going to pay for rent? I don't think Capitalism necessarily gives the individual more choices than Socialism does. Only if you are exceptionally intelligent and/or energetic in a Capitalist environment do you choices of success expand exponentially.

At first, you made my head tilt to the right and my eyes squint because of how I interpreted your comments about Viola's character and the movie's attempt to 'masculinize' black women, but then I took a closer look and was able to recognize the intense love you have for us. Oral sex goes back throughout recorded history and in all cultures. Are you SURE about that? Being in "all" cultures? AfroAmericans had our own culture for hundreds of years and you'd be hard pressed to find any documents mentioning oral sex being practiced among our people for most of that time until recently. Not saying it didn't happen 200 or 300 years ago.... But how do you KNOW it did? What documented evidence can we point to to confirm it? richardmurray One of the problems with trying to get Black people collectively to support a more communal mindset and society is the fact that we know a lot of our people are lazy and would wait on the rest of the community to support them if they could. Communalism works when nearly every able bodied adult is working and contributing. But when you have half of the men working and contributing and the other half wandering around looking for something to "get into" and messing with the women instead of working....it creates a lot of friction and resentment. Those who are working and contributing become resentful and bitter and feel taken advantage of; and those who AREN'T working and have no plans to work feel smart and "slick" like they've gotten over the "suckas" who are out there humping.

While I support Black folks moving out of the state NOW....what gets me wondering is why so many of the so-called "hard core" Black gangs sat up and ALLOWED the Mexican and other Latino gangs drive them out of their neighborhoods. Why didn't they fight back and hold their grounds? @Chevdove I lived in California for about 3 weeks in both Los Angeles and San Diego and realized that it was NOT a state for Black folks. It seems like most of the Black men who grow up there end up in jail as some point in their lives. Also most of the Black folks I saw in Cali were involved in the street life one way or another. Either homeless or in gangs or in illegal industries. It wasn't like Michigan or Pennsylvania where you could just get a job and pay for a place to stay and car and live your life. In California things were so expensive you had to have different types of hustles just to survive. Not the spot for me. Also too, I am very frustrated to say the least that a White homosexual man was allowed under America to adopt a little Black African boy!!! That's the entire purpose of foster care today. To steal Black kids from their parents and put them into the care of White homosexual couples. The question I have is why do so many Black people allow it? They sit back and let it happen. There are plenty of Black judges, lawyers, and police officers. We can decided WHEN and HOW it ends....if we really wanted to. ProfD Our ancestors invested 400+ years and counting of blood, sweat and tears in this raggedy azz country. There's no reason for AfroAmericans to leave any state in which we choose to live. We should be fighting racism wherever it confronts us While what you're saying is true, I think California is a lost cause. We CAN fight...and PREVAIL in California. But at just 6% of the population at this point....is the fight really worth it? I say just move out of the state and let the Asians and Latinos have it or just let it drop in the ocean. The brother was smart....but foolish and immature at the same time. He was in his late 30s and should have known better than to do some of the shit he was doing. If I heard some White women talking about him, I used to tell the fool and he'd actually go and ASK THEM did they really say it? If AfroAmericans would establish and build our own businesses instead of constantly looking for appreciation and commendation from White owns or operated establishments...we'd be much farther ahead. The problem with trying to solve social and societal problems online is that it's too IMPERSONAL. You don't get the full spirit and emotion of the person you're communicating with over the internet or by texting. In real life you can hear the tone of their voice, see their expression, feel their spirit...and it gives you a better judgment of their sincerity and seriousness. 2 things that are crucial when trying to solve problems as delicate as these. can I also ask what would motivate you to sign or share these petitions, because it seems nothing that comes from me is helping lol, I have tried alot on facebook, and only my Dad, and his girlfriend singed these petitions, but no one seems to care about them, are they too long, or do you think many find signing or trying not even relevant? I haven't signed or shared any petitions. These changes have to come from the federal level and I'm not sure if petitions will be enough to make that happen.

All of America clearly doesn't know..... The question is, does "all of America" even CARE???? Most people don't care about the UNJUST system of "Justice" until they have a personal experience with it or a loved one is involved. We need an entire Constitutional overhaul of the legal system in every part of the United States where every single law is examined and then VOTED ON by all of the adults in that district because too many games are being played with the legal system in the United States.

White folks are happy to coexist anywhere with people of color, as long as THEY are on top and running the show...lol. A delegation came through and convinced White South Africans to subscribe to the belief that they belong to a master race as theorized by cats like Arthur de Gobineau and Alfred Rosenberg. That set in motion what eventually became Apartheid. Ok. And you're telling me that the Black folks who were in South Africa just sat back and LET them do it? Just LET the White minority supplant them and occupy the seat of rulership? That doesn't sound very smart to me. No matter what the Whites from the outside or even the Whites IN South Africa thought or how they felt...the Zulu and Shona and other peoples should have protected their land and kept it from being confiscated and dominated by a foreign people. Of course, it was easy enough for white South Africans to receive military backing from other white countries. That's what gave white South Africans the power to rule. It was not their intelligence. Ok, now we're getting to the nitty gritty. And why didn't the other BLACK AFRICAN nations help their fellow Black Africans in South Africa militarily like the Whites did? This is where INTELLIGENCE becomes more of a factor. Why were the Whites intelligent enough to know how to help THEIR own but most of the other Blacks...who are the clear majority on that continent..didn't have enough sense to do the same? White folks have no problem with taking over by force and using violence when diplomacy fails. Most Black folks don't either. Some of these Negroes will use violence BEFORE diplomacy. They just don't have the weaponry that Whites have to do as much damage....but they use what they DO have. H8ll, for a long time now, the British, French and Dutch have been running black nations with only a handful of white folks actually living there I know...lol. That's why I keep saying it boils down to INTELLIGENCE and White folks simply outsmarting Black folks for the past 500 years or so. When the same shit keeps happening over and over around the world involving the same peoples.... At this point, I have to look at it for what it is.

It's interesting how memories work and how remembering one thing leads to another. I was watching Harlem Nights and saw my man Robin Harris and started missing his short-lived comedy. So then I had to stop watching Harlem Nights and started watching old clips of Robin Harris' routines...lol.
