We have Black Federal Judges....why aren't THEY doing it? ....or maybe declare their arrests illegal or unconstitutional and order THEIR release, like they did for a lot of illegal immigrants. Now to keep it real...... I don't live in Memphis and don't really know too many people there, so I don't know if this is real or what type of impact it's having on our community. Maybe it's a GOOD thing and is actually making things safe and peaceful, I'm not sure. I just find it kind of strange how SOME actions from this Administration are being allowed but OTHER actions are declared illegal or blocked.

Troy Hummm that doesn’t sound right there are many ways to benefit a person than directly giving the money which has a high likelihood of being spent on crack. While that's true, why would I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to figure that out without knowing the person's background? It's much easier and more efficient (on my end) to simply give them some money and not judge or assume the worst in them. Why should you get Karmic credit for that? Why "shouldn't" you??? I haven't followed this $2,000 story much because I don't think Trump is serious about it. richarmurray talks about Universal Basic Income....so is he talking about giving it to people MONTHLY or is this just another one time deal kind of like the stimulus checks for Covid? I think it's just a gimmick to keep the poor and working class people who actually NEED the money wishing and hoping for some sort of "present" they can waste away on weed and liquor. Low intelligence people are easily "bought off" with cheap gifts and trinkets, while more intelligent people look at the LONG TERM aspect and what offers the most benefit in the long run. Don't cut off people's SNAP benefits for a month and jack insurance rates up sky high or kick them off of medicaid and other service which will cost them TENS of thousands of dollars this year....but then give them $2000 back. Most people don't think. They don't care how many jobs are lost or how how many illegal immigrants have just be let go because some "judge" said they couldn't be detained and now will take THEIR jobs....as long as they can get a little quick $2000 and run down to the nearest weed dispensary.

richardmurray In your experience it seems black people who are , what some call, devout, gardless to the religion they adhere to, fit a lifestyle model you accept as positive. ok I didn't say "gardless" or "Regardless" of their religion...lol. I specified CHRISTIANS. There are Muslims who are devout who believe in KILLING people who disbelieve or reject the faith. Most Hebrew Israelites tend to be very devout and quite HOSTILE to people who disbelieve in their faith also. That's not to say there aren't Christians who believe in doing the same thing, but among most AfroAmericans....most devout AfroAmerican Christians aren't violent. ProfD Many of them were raised in the church. Upon realizing the hypocrisy and pimp game of it, they chose a different path. So did I. But the path I chose lead to CONSTRUCTION....not DESTRUCTION. They will eventually end up in the penitentiary or cemetery. If I pass by a bum begging for money for food on the street and I give him $20...... I did the right thing regardless as to what he does with the money. He can use it to by a rock of crack if he wants, but I still get "Karmic Credit" for giving charity. It is counter-productive to dismantling the system of racism white supremacy. I wouldn't call it "counter" productive because it doesn't counter or oppose the dismantling. But it would be fair to call it "non" productive for dismantling the system. However even THAT could be questioned, because just like I said about the Black politicians..... If the ONLY good that comes out of some of these Black folks holding political offices is that they can collect a pay check and stay out of jail or off the corner or any other trap this system has set up....that's acceptable to. Again, if it doesn't HARM the community.....we can't get mad at 'em. Like Neely Fuller Jr. used to say, every VICTIM of The System has their own way of dealing with it. Even if denying their victimhood is a way of dealing with it. Enriching oneself while reinforcing the system of racism white supremacy is harmful to the community. I agree. If they are reinforcing the system. Politicians and religious leaders are selling a more destructive form of poison to their communities. Some are, yes. Jasmine Crockett, Maxine Waters, and Minister Farrakhan are examples of politicians and religious leaders who aren't.

ProfD We are a nation of laws. The system was built on federal and state rights. Absolutely, but those laws shouldn't CONTRADICT eachother. Can Satan "cast out" Satan? How can we have a solid and stable nation when ONE law says one thing and ANOTHER law comes along stating the entire opposite? Common sense and reason says this is nonsense and must be rectified. However those in power leave it be....because it adds to the confusion. That's all a part of the game i.e. the system controlling people. Only the powerful get to manipulate it. And that's my point. A system of contradictory laws so that those in power can use them to confuse people and manipulate them.

ProfD In SOME cases....but in many cases, they do not. Infact...in some cases Federal and State law actually CONTRADICT it....and eachother! For example, in Michigan....State law says possessing Marijuana is legal, but Federal law says it's ILLLEGAL. Make that make sense....lol. See, this perspective is the problem. Not necessarily YOUR perspective because it's common and it's actually what you "supposed" to do now a days; so I'm not criticizing your advise. But theoretically.... This perspective or position is the problem. Why? Because it's not a matter of someone "believing" their 4th Amendment Rights were violated....THEY CLEARLY WERE. And for lawyers, judges, and prosecutors to even sit around discussing this and scratching their heads over it means they're playing games with the Constitution itself and not taking the legal system and foundation that this nation and it's system was supposedly built upon, seriously. I think "bend" is too soft of a word.....lol. In some cases, they down right VIOLATE the Constitution

@ProfD As we talk about laws, judges, branches of government and what is legal and what is not....we both can agree that the U.S. Constitution is suppose to supersede ALL federal and local laws, right? The Constitutions makes it crystal clear in the 4th Amendment: The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. Unless you catch them in the actual commission of a crime, for law enforcement to search ANYBODY or seize ANY property they need warrant first....regardless of any local or state laws that may say otherwise. You don't need to be a lawyer to figure this one out. Nor do you need judges around the country to "interpret" it or declare it legal or illegal....it's crystal clear. Yet in New York the practice of "stop and frisk" by the NYPD was allowed for decades and probably still is allowed despite the many "rulings" by different judges. They're clearly playing games with these laws and using "judge rulings" as excuses for doing and allowing what they want.

As I get wiser, I've noticed that very religious Christian Black people....whether they are AfroAmericans or Africans.....are often pleasant to be around because atleast most of them TRY to do the right thing and live a peaceful life. I'm not talking about those who are just NOMINALLY Christian, but those who are sincere in their beliefs and practices. I don't agree with much of the philosophy obviously, but atleast I don't have to worry about most very religious Black folks whether they are African or AfroAmerican engaging in a lot of the self destructive behavior so many of our people who are NOT very religious engage in like alcohol and drug abuse and thuggish behavior. Not all...or even most ( @richardmurray ......lol.) but too many. So if following the teachings of Muhammad or Jesus will keep you from killing your brother, or fucking your brain and body up with drugs and liquor....stay the course. As far as them being non-threatening to the White Power Structure...... Perhaps so, but how threatening are Black folks who disregard religion and turn into outlaws??? Often VERY threatening...to your own community. If you aren't actively participating in the dismantling the System Of Racism, the LEAST you can do is not be a threat to your own community.

ProfD Some people work jobs that pay a minimum wage. It is not enough to pay bills and buy groceries. Food stamps supplement their income. Many folks have a job and still live from one paycheck to the next. They borrow money to make ends meet. I know, that's why I said this is how it looks to most people OUTSIDE of America. As American citizens....we ALREADY know what's up. Half of the people working have to rely on government assistance because most of the jobs are unreliable and don't pay enough. But the very THOUGHT of forcing someone who doesn't have a job to begin with....to "work" in order to be provided with the basics for survival is down right inhumane to most people around the world. I find it a bit ironic that for decades when the American family was somewhat intact and the jobs were plentiful and paid well....welfare was also generous. ANYBODY could get an apartment in the projects....single or married....children or none...male or female. ANYBODY could get on welfare and stay generation after generation. As soon as they moved most of the good paying jobs overseas and broke up the family unit to the point where everybody went their own separate ways and you couldn't rely on a father in the home or your children to help take care of you.....THEN all of a sudden they start restricting welfare benefits, limited who could and couldn't qualify to live in government housing and eventually tore down the projects, and started putting limits on who could get welfare. The IMMIGRANTS are able to survive and thrive in this economy because they are still living like OUR people used to live 100 years ago with the extended family all living in one house and pooling their money together.

Well if his plans actually changed from what he REALLY wanted to do....I WOULD be surprised. Meaning.... If he had actually left DC with a sincere desire to help the people and promote progressive policies that would help people of ALL socio-economic stratum...I would indeed be surprised. That takes a measure of intelligence to perform such feats. A bullet can come from anyone. What makes you think intelligence can stop a bullet from a fool ? An INTELLIGENT person will often take the necessary precautions to MINIMIZE threats to his/her safety. Though not perfect, they diminish the risks by using smart tactics like wearing bullet proof vests, using bullet proof shields, and actually using their INTELLIGENCE not to put themselves in situations that make them prone to violent attacks in the first place.
