Hi @Bev I just checked the ISBN in Ingram's database it is not there yet. One quick was for you to check is by checking bookshop's site. They only sell books that are in Ingram's database so anything you see on Bookshop is something I can buy from Ingram. https://bookshop.org/books?keywords=9781005269548 Of course I purchase from other distributors Lushena and African World Press, I buy very few books directly from authors. As far as getting the book into our bookstore. Please read my reply to an author who posted a similar question.

Hi @Kathy Kanika Marshall all good questions. The book form you completed is only for authors already on the website. Here is the current list. The search engine only returns content that is currently on AALBC. If you post information about your book the search engine would actually pick it up in a few days. For example, the author, M'Bwebe Ishangi posted the information and now M'Bwebe Ishangi comes up in a search on the site. For more ways to get on AALBC, check out our FAQ. Purchasing an author profile will get you on the site right away it is only $199. If your ebooks are sold only on Amazon, we can not sell them on AALBC, but we will be happy to send readers to your site if they click the book's buy button on AALBC. Hey @Mel Hopkins yeah sites that do that are a real pain. Bookshop did delete my account the very next business day. I decided not to pursue an additional offensives against Bookshp.org. As I implied earlier my time can be better spent focusing on AALBC. I could have had my affiliate program setup now were it not for me expending energy countering Bookshop.org AALBC has weathered many challenges I'll weather this one too. I'm not even going to share the video beyond posting it here.

Occasionally, I'll check to see what conversations visitors to this site are reading. This morning I came across this conversation, which I found really interesting. Bookshop deleted my page and noticed my commentary. They took issue with it, obviously, and sent me this comment among other things; "We are determined to be a socially-conscious alternative to Amazon and we will not stop improving our platform to make it better and better for our patrons, our booksellers, and all of our affiliates." I replied; "I’m sure you personally believe Bookshop.org is supportive of indie booksellers, but as someone who has been selling books, independently on the web, for almost 25 years I can tell you Bookshop is not supportive of AALBC.com or any other indie online bookseller – that much should be plain. If I’m wrong; explain to me what I’m missing. Bookshop’s goal, based upon behavior (not public statements) is to become the ecommerce platform for brick and mortar stores. This fosters dependence – not independence. As bookshop’s dominance continues variety on the web will be diminished as online book sales coalesce under the control of two sellers Amazon and bookshop." This short video describes just one way Bookshop.org is undermining booksellers -- especially web-based booksellers -- like AALBC as they continue their march to become the ecommerce platform for every brick and mortar store. It is the "socially conscious alternative to Amazon" that I profoundly reject, because it is bullshit. Bookshop.org wants to dominate book sales on the web, just like Amazon before them. Trust me if Bookshop.org demonstrated any support of online booksellers I would be making better use of my time. Bookshop poses an existential threat to booksellers on the web -- Black booksellers in particular. Now Bookshop.org can do what they want to do. How we, as Black people who care about our book platforms, react is what matters most.

@Delano is right; It is a wrap. Biden is the president elect. All the law suits are a waste of time, energy, and money. This is plain, to even the most casual of observers. @daniellegfny, your continued contributions to Donald Trump are indeed a waste of money, if you think it will reverse the result of the election. The fact the you choose to use your financial resources in this manner helps me understand your reaction to Gibran's recent post, Literary Gentrification.

You wrote, "Writers should be free to write!" as if @Gibran rejected the notion in what he wrote (again setting up a strawman), which he did not. You quoted what he wrote, but failed to grasp his meaning... His use of the language was clear, so I do not know what else to add. When you write, "While the AALBC is a nice waystop, it’s too restrictive..." again you miss the point. Gibran was not saying the AALBC was they only thing we need to do, indeed he wrote others things we need to do as well. What he offered was not intended as a complete prescription. Danielle you fancy yourself as a writer, as such, you will note that Gibran started with a thesis statement; "The challenge to black readers in the very near future may not be where to find great writers, but rather where to find the books that our great writers write." Gibran was simply recognizing AALBC one platform that advances this goal. I praised what he wrote because he understands what I'm trying to do, something you've clearly failed to divine. Do you reject Gibran's thesis? If so why?

This was well done and expresses my sentiments in a way that I have not been able to. This is absolutely true and has been going on for a long time. I'm inspired that other people see it and can articulate it so well.

What did you get learn from the video Del? I mean you took the time to share it, so I have to assume you found something of value. Because you posted it, I listening to it but did not hear anything interesting. Often you post links to articles or videos without any commentary. It would be helpful when you shared content if you provided some context what piqued your interest or why you think it is worth a read or listen. Does that make sense?

Well I can't find a video of Van crying over Obama's two victories. Yeah I have a couple of degrees in engineering, but there plenty of emotional engineers. Again, don't let's stereotypes stunt your understanding of people. Engineering is actually a creative discipline requires both imagination and the ability to consider tradeoffs. Describing Black men being criers as part of our culture is not something I'm familiar with.
