  1. The image above is from a screen grab of a video I saw on the New York Times website (I'm pretty sure). They wrote an article about the election on Tulsa's mayor, a white guy in his early 40's. The most striking thing is that mayor, on his second term, the 4th Mayor of Tulsa in his family going back to the late 19th century! There was at least one Black guy running against him, the Black community is not happy with how the local government is treating their Black citizens. What else is new this is America... But I digress... Pictured s what is left of Tulsa's famed Black Wall Street. There is a tee shirt shop in the middle of the block. I did not see any designs I liked but I'll go back until I find one There is a modest museum and a church off the the right on the next block, but that is it. The Black Lives Matter sign painted on the street is actually controversial ... SMH @daniellegfny do you believe racism places a part in the destruction of what has become known as Black Walls Street? Do you believe that race has nothing to do with the guy currently running the city? The legacy of racism is broad and deep in this country. Why people on the right have difficulty seeing this is beyond me. The problems caused by the plutocracy and their most effective weapon racism is the cause. The new Mayor of Tulsa is incapable of solving the problems of the Black people there. He is the problem.
  2. How did white supremacy inform the behavior of Africans thousands of years ago? @Chevdove i say "myth" because i do not believe that some guy named Ham is the father of Black people (Africans) and that we have been cursed as a result. As far as African traveling through Europe with being the targets of white supremacy how would you explain the African popes?
  3. The first Hebrews were Black. AntiSemitism runs through the Black community like others in America. It entirely reasonable for a Drunk like Noah to curse a son whom he perceived shamed him. Parents still do that today. As far as what people say is in the Talmud I have not studied it.
  4. Well... Really!? It's White owned!? Then, this may be why some of the statements you mentioned seem so far fetched and totally strange. Wow! Okay, maybe this disrespect is meant to stir up conflict amongst Black people?
  5. Sorry i forgot who i was talking to. I wasn't talking about myself either. I've been to two of Reginald Lewis' homes and have been to at least one Billionares home on park have a triplex that took up three entire gloor of an apartment building on 5th ave... The vast majority of poor people will not do the things you or i just described. I really careful about taking my experiences and extending them to the general population. You should read a book called Caste by Isabel Wilkerson.
  6. I feel the US is having several civil wars, the winners will decide the tone of the country. The Big Money remains entrenched.
  7. So not having to eat out of the trash is your standard, in one of the richest countries in the world? As far as shelter have you been to any major city lately? You obviously have not been to Sacramento, Oakland, San Francisco.... unless you consider an overpass or tent "shelter." Righ wingers are way too comfortable enriching themselves even while those around them suffer. They rationalize this by saying the poor are at fault. Generally I find people who have really seen poverty and wealth are a bit more understanding and sympathetic, unless they are just sociopaths.
  8. Define high standard of living?
