  1. I was so glad to see that. They will need to form their own armed, well trained security force. We don't want another Tulsa. I do hope they learn to grow and feed themselves, and most of all DE-Colonize. I wish them the utmost success. Would even like to get involved in some manner. I have land, live on the Navajo rez so not looking to move would like to communicate
  2. Hey @Delano despite what you write, I have recently begun describing myself as a "writer." I recognize I'm not as good as most others who call themselves writers. I have taught a section on writing to prepare students for the GED test. I have been writing for this website for over 20 years. I have paid writers and edited their work for this site. I have been paid to write for other publications including a book. So while I don't go around boasting about it, or put if high on my set of skills, I include it. Just some context 🙂
  3. "They don't want to be Rich or they just aren't capable of using their "whiteness" paraphrasing Pioneer.
  4. Man the weather is a big deal. I would seriously consider moving there were it not for the weather. I'm actually surprised given your focus on what Black people are genetically predisposed to doing that you would encourage us to move to a place with weather like Detroit we'd have to take vitamin D supplements and apply ointments to our skin just to inhabit that frozen tundra (and that is just during the summer)...
  5. Here are some folk invoking steps 1 through 5 right now in ATL: 19 Black families bought 97 acres of land, and they want to turn it into a city called Freedom https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2020/10/06/19-black-families-buy-97-acres-georgia-land-create-freedom/3593821001/
  6. Harvard doesn’t impress me. Their endowments are noteworthy. And yes twice to rule out the commentary it was a fluke. It’s not what he did in office that was as important as he got to the office and retained it. Unfortunately it didn’t inspire the most active in our community the right way. It should have been an acknowledgment of our citizenship in spite of birtherism. Herbert Harris just took the Bar Exam as passed. He was the last lawyer in NY to be able to be a lawyer just taking the testing. When I was 16, I was on the Board of Trustees of Essex Legal Services. I currently sell Legalshield. Lawyers don’t impress me because contrary to your opinion they don’t need to be super intelligent and most don’t make that much money. Besides one could always argue it was the white in him. I won’t. A better argument is Affirmative Action.
  7. Troy, I do not expect perfect grammar and spelling on any news forum. But if you want the truth, Black news forums have the most emotional and angry participants. And some are quick to show their immaturity because they take offense immediately. I am not female, so I do not enter Women news forums. There are a lot of Conservatives who also cannot hold their temper. But on most general news forums, there are always good writers who are patient and would rather wait for further explanation before tossing a stick of dynamite. It depends on the topic. Some issues generate intense emotions such as Israel and U.S. relations with Muslim countries. Or Barack Obama. Reparations for descendants of Black Slaves and discussions of Black American achievement also generate a lot of discussion, some of it quite nasty. But on Black forums, I've run into a lot of people who will look at a single paragraph and are ready to blow their top. Personally, I don't expect to find wordsmiths on forums unless they have nothing else to do. We are a nation of terrible writers. But I eschew childishness and those who express disdain for anyone simply because their worldview does not match that of their churlish detractors. Folks should at least try to be polite. Now, Troy, are a terrific writer. And I enjoy reading your comments. I'm on a search for good conversation and hopeful and truthful thoughts for the Black Community. Oh, and some darn good humor.
