  1. ITALY For African Americans; In ETHIOPIAโ€”A Statue Of Liberty Constructed Yes, there is something going on in the world about the issue of Reparations, all over the world. But I also believe that there are people working very hard to suppress it. Ever since the United Nations brought the issue of Reparations to the floor some years ago, I get the sense that there are all sorts of quiet โ€˜Movementsโ€™ that have been started. And because of the Biblical scriptures about the Hebrew Israelites that were prophesized to be victims of the Transatlantic Slave Trade amongst so many other kinds of African victims, well, I also believe that more and more, this issue will be contentious in the Middle East and in the Horn of Africa where the Habesha people are concentrated. Ever since the breakup of the Cold War and the 9/11 Attacks, I believe that global conflicts have been happening more frequently. These are some strange times that we are living in right now.
  2. It really doesn't take too much of my time. I'm not running around with a picket sign and a megaphone begging n8gglets to unify. ๐Ÿคฃ Like a minister, I drop jewels in real-life conversations with people I encounter and keep it moving. No tithes or offerings required.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  3. i can't believe the Republicans are squandering their opportunity to make the most of their chance to inflict damage on the hapless Democrats, but I'm so glad to see them imploding and showing the world what an erratic bunch of clowns they really are! Trump's influence seems to be eroding and, best of all, all the right wing detractors who show up on this board, have been proven wrong when it comes to the viability of their party! ๐Ÿคฃ
  4. Well, I haven't been around that long but I've thoroughly enjoyed your contributions here. I've read through some of the archives too. Whenever the sun decides to set in our lives, I'm grateful to have been able to meet, converse and laugh with you in the virtual world.๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ˜Ž

@Stefan and @richardmurray, while it's not my place to mediate, I'm always hopeful that folks can find a common ground of constructive dialog.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  6. @Chevdove, thanks for the excellent identification and background on the Pointer Sisters.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฟ The Pointer Sisters thrived in the 1970s which was a great time for Black music and arguably its best decade. There were so many groups, bands, artists and musicians. The downside to the 1970s music scene was alcohol and drug use was rampant. No surprise the sisters had their struggles. Amazing to live through and talk about it. Here is my favorite Pointer Sisters song. It was written and produced by the late great, legendary Allen Toussaint from New Orleans. I'm grateful the best of Black music has been recorded. Even when the artists are no longer relevant musically and/or with us on this side of glory, we still have their music.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  7. Awesome dance routine. Those young ladies did it.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฟ The music of Soul Brotha #1 James Brown is timeless. Hard not to move when the beat drops.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  8. Well, if Florida DOES turn into a hot-spot for anti-Black hatred, you know who I'll blame for it......BLACK FOLKS. 1. This is OUR country. We have just as much POTENTIAL for power as Whites, Latinos, or any other group.....so if we want to lay around on the couch smoking fake-weed and eating fried turkey legs instead of going to Florida and establishing a political and social machine there that goes to war WITH these Republican (and Democrat) racists and prevent them from establishing a nest there....who's fault is it? Most of us have two arms, two legs, and a brain just like most White folks.....so who's stopping us from making Florida a great state for those who LOVE Blacks? Who's PHYSICALLY holding us back? 2. Andrew Gillum had an opportunity to turn this around and become the first Black Governor of Florida, but the nigga punked out. Figuratively and eventually literally it seems. Just like Stacey Abrams, these Negroes run for office putting all of their trust and faith in White folks hoping they'll be fair and treat them correctly and when they get double-crossed and abandoned....instead of learning their lesson and going to their Black grassroots for support....they just cave in and bow their heads and accept "defeat". That's what Andrew did. And he's still paying the price for it. I read somewhere that a judge ruled that whatever the hell he was charged with was going to stick and won't be dismissed. It's sad, but he could have fought and asked Black Floridians to fight with him to take the office....but he didn't. It's getting harder and harder to blame White folks for having the good sense to do what we SHOULD be doing.....fighting for and expanding political, social, and economic power.
