When he was President before and even before...when he was campaigning back in 2014 and 2015 I said that he was often like a blank canvas that people would paint their own picture on as to why he was "their guy". Sometimes the problem isn't the RESULTS but the EXPECTATIONS. Perhaps we should stop EXPECTING most Black people to unite and focus on getting KEY numbers or a CRITICAL MASS of Black Americans to unite around a certain issue and be satisfied with THAT accomplishment. I've had several experiences that sometimes makes me want to even go further and say it's not even about RACE but about COMMON INTERESTS of the individuals. If I want: A, L, P, and Q........... And can find a bunch of people -male and female, Black, White, and Latino, and Asian - who also want A, L, P, and Q. Perhaps we should put our racial and cultural differences aside and work together to achieve that goal. But I'm so B1 (Black first) that it's ingrained in my character so I'm not likely to put race to the side. It will always be a factor in this Life Cycle. A sweet compromise for me is finding OTHER Black people regardless of sex or culture...who share similar goals and working together with them. That's why I'm FBA but can't ignore or totally separate myself from other members of the Black Diaspora as a lot of our people are seeking to do.
