  1. April 16, 1862, President Lincoln signed the District of Columbia Compensated Emancipation Act. This law prohibited slavery in the District, forcing its 900-odd slaveholders to free their slaves, with the federal government paying owners an average of about $300 (equivalent to $9,000 in 2024) for each Although there have been few reparations to the nations involved, one controversial development dates back to the 1800s. In 1833, the British government agreed to pay £20m to slave owners in exchange for the freeing of their slaves — which would equate to billions in the modern day France went further by penalizing Haiti for the revolution that abolished slavery in its former colony St. Domingue. It levied a huge sum on the island, which crippled it in decades of debt. Former slaves were forced to pay indemnities to former slaveowners in exchange for official recognition as the first black independent nation-state in the Western Hemisphere. Slaves were so valuable their owners were compensated by the Government.
  2. Merely having a solid defense is a deterrent. The FOI has provided security for others. Let's hope we never have to find out. Not sure of where this is coming from but of all the fiery things Minister Louis Farrakhan has said over several decades the NOI has never been attacked.😎
  3. The only time Black Lives Matter to the General Population was during slavery
  4. OK, I'll give you that. Any Black man, criminally minded or otherwise has to respect the FOI.
  5. He said he actually remembered Rosa Parks because her husband was his barber. And he also remembered the Montgomery Bus Boycott. It was real. Talk about "barber shop talk"...... He said he remembered back then in the barber shops Black men would sit around arguing with eachother over King and the other Civil Rights leaders and what good they were doing and how "them White folks" would never let "niggas" go to school with their kids or be equal with them.....and he said AS SOON as the Civil Rights Bill was passed those same Black men who were talking shit were the first ones to try to date a White woman or sit in the front of the bus or sit at the best seats in restaurants....lol. The same ones criticizing King and 'em were the very first ones to take advantage of his efforts...lol.
  6. Right. My idea of being prepared to defend oneself means having more than enough weapons and a high proficiency in using them and/or a small militia for protection. The Nation of Islam has the FOI (Fruit of Islam) for similar reason. Those brothas are highly trained to get active should the need arise.😎
  7. Hi @Tales from Zeal Didn't the pro in the industry provide guidance in this area? You are asking people who don't know you or you or, more importantly, your work to introduce you to an author who will read and endorse your book. There is a slim chance of that happening as a result of you inquiry. You should attend book fairs and conferences and get to know other authors. These are the people most likely to endorse and read your work. What you should do here is post information about yourself and your upcoming novel. Share a video describing the book and keep us appraised of your progress. As with any community develop a relationship with folks. Here is a good example of a writer, Milton J. Davis who always posts information about his new books. Now if he ever asked for an endorsement (he hasn't yet) I would certainly consider it. I hope that helps.
