Higher taxes reduces disposable income. Wealthy people have more means to avoid taxes than w2 wage earners. Besides income taxes, higher gas prices further reduces disposable income. This results in less money for poor and working blacks to spend, save and invest. Lower income people are effected in a more impactful way by reduced disposable income. This is because a higher percentage of their money has evaporated.
