The Brits don't need as many guns As Americans because white folks there don't threatened by non-whites. British slavery was not as brutal as America nor did it last as long. The British population is 83% white. Their institutional racism is very different from the Unites States of America. They don't owe non-white folks anything. British racism didn't lead to t lead to Black Codes, Jim Crow, sun down towns, lynchings, church bombings, marches and protests, Black freedom fighters and activists, Civil Rights movement, Affirmative Action, Reparations, etc. Black folks and non-whites in general cannot stake a claim in building Great Britain or any other predominantly white country. Otherwise, AfroAmericans shed blood, sweat and tears for 400+ years building the United State of America.

IMO, the country thrives on its diversity and *freedoms*. None of our differences has reached a boiling point where any group or faction is going to start a civil war. Look no further than AfroAmericans who have been grieving and grumbling for over 100 years. Other than a few protests and marches, we still have not become violent over those grievances or in demanding reparations for America's original sin. A few rowdy folks stormed the Capitol on January 6th. Every week there is a mass shooting. Otherwise, America is a relatively peaceful country. Maybe I'll think differently if/when I see a mass exodus out of here. Too much *free* time on one's hands allows for a certain amount of consternation about one thing or another. In other thread, you mentioned having grandkids. Rest assured that they really aren't much different from the previous generations. They too will figure out a way forward.

I give benefit of doubt because she's smart and unlike many FLOTUS, she stayed up late at night helping POTUS Obama with his homework. I think Michelle Obama could be brought up to speed on foreign policy. But, as you've mentioned...she's not interested in the gig. Makes no sense for us to dream about or wish for it. The GOP plays dirty pool. I don't blame Michelle for living her best life away from DC.

Black people don't want to believe these political parties are two sides of the same coin especially when it comes to maintaining the system of racism white supremacy. We essentially vote for the lesser of two evils.

The GOP entertains these clowns for fun. Neither one of them would be invited into dh homes of their fellow party members. Follow the money. That along with ignorance and cognitive dissonance usually explains the reason for a sellout.

They don't see white folks as the devil. Quite the opposite. Most African women are only interested in non-African men for two reasons...to ride the 1st thing smoking out of their failed country and/or to get citizenship elsewhere. Young brothas won't be at a lost because culturally...most Africans still don't really get down with us unless there's a benefit to them. AfroAmericans aren't white enough to sway them. That's a smoke screen. They're not genuinely interested in AfroAmerican history. They're doing Intel in order to know more about AfroAmericans than they know about themselves. Latinos will use it against AfroAmericans in one way or another.

It took a month for POTUS PJB to accept that he was fighting on shaky legs. Some of us are taught not to quit but sometimes one has to tap out and fight on a different level. Whatever juice POTUS PJB has along with the Democratic brain trust...they need to channel that energy into making VP Harris a stronger candidate or whoever they're going to nominate. Either way, the damage may already be done in terms of delivering the White House back to the Orange Jackazz. We'll see if America pulls to the Left just to save itself.

While they are more than qualified to do the job, white America isn't ready for a female POTUS of any color. Democrats will hand the White House back to the raggedy azz GOP on a silver platter if they nominate a woman. VP Harris and former FLOTUS Obama are the *wrong* color. Gov. Whitmer claims she's not interested during this cycle. It would be interesting if former FLOTUS Michelle Obama was nominated. Even better if she flipped the script and won in a landslide. That would be great. We can dream....

Apparently, the Secret Service thought the white guy up on the roof with an AR-15 was also law enforcement. Totally makes sense. Nevermind the coordination that takes place during these events.

Republican National Convention (RNC) is a major display of white nationalism. A representation of half this country. As cameras pan the crowd, the number of black folks in the building can be counted. The former FLOTUS finally showed up to an event. Interestingly, the media doesn't really question her absence from the former POTUS side. Of course, most everyone knows their marriage is a sham but like everything else about the former POTUS, he's the epitome of white privilege. First, it was court cases and gold sneakers and a conviction. Over the top, I can already see the memes of MAGA folks wearing a piece of gauze over their right ear. Oh well...it will be interesting to see how the Dems counter the display during their convention next month.

The Brits don't have to deal with repercussions of slavery, institutionalized racism and gun violence to the same degree as the US. The attempt on Reagan's life was 41 years ago. I was referring to the assassination of a POTUS being over 50 years ago. Especially in a place where there is despair, greed, grievance, hate and mental health issues to name a few.

No surprise that those other groups pf people admire white folks. Colonization is different from slavery and institutionalized racism. Republicans may be talking about "family values" but it's not to benefit or support or acknowledge other groups of people. They want to roll America back 100 years. I wouldn't spend an ounce of energy studying or admiring Africans and Latinos. These people fled their homelands for greener pastures under white supremacy. As I've mentioned before, these people have a whole country to which they can return and build up. Instead they flee and never look back. Both political parties are courting other minority groups in order to marginalize the Black vote. Those groups don't bear the legacy of slavery either. As long as those minorities don't ask for too much of anything they'll be treated with benign neglect under white supremacy. Ask Senator Tim Scott how much it benefits him belonging to ths GOP.

Historically, Black women have been loyal to the underdog and losers. A mom will beg the courts to spare her son's life despite that he's taken a few. As a wife or side piece, a woman will be the ride or die to an unemployed, broke azz man. Despite his impending frailty, POTUS Biden is the alternative to the Boogeyman trying to break back into the White House. Former POTUS Orange Julius aka Teflon Don is the personification of white privilege and white supremacy. To many white people, he's the political equivalent of Jesus. Civilized but stratified in several ways. Last US POTUS assassinated was JFK Jr. in 1963. More than a half-century ago is pretty good in a civilized but divided country. The Brits don't have the *problems* as America. By design, US gun laws make it easier for citizens living in certain places to obtain firearms. Yep. Wisconsin state gun law is the reason Kyle Rittenhouse is a free murderer today. In light of recent events, RNC (Republican National Convention) attendees know they'll have to leave firearms outside in their vehicles.

IMO, absolutely not. They will come to show up with hat in hang begging for money. The number of assassination attempts against a POTUS on US soil are extremely low. The last attempt was 40 years ago.

Shooter walks up on the scene with an AR-15. People see him climbing up on a roof. They try to alert police of the suspicious character. Cops do nothing. The building was 400 feet away from where former POTUS was speaking. There is Secret Service and snipers everywhere. The media is fumbling all over itself trying to figure out and explain how this shooting could have happened. They don't want to talk about how there are too many guns in America. On one hand, the media is praising the swift action of law enforcement. OTOH, they don't understand how someone could get within 400 feet of carrying out an assassination. With more street cred as a convict and now grazed by a bullet, it will be interesting to see how folks rally around the orange fella in November.

The game that is American politics has left us with two old geezers running for POTUS. The Dems didn't promote any candidates during their primary to oppose the incumbent POTUS. Funny thing is POTUS PJB ran as a 1-term bridge to the future. Now, he wants to finish whatever he started. After 50+ years in the back, he's enjoying the power seat. POTUS PJB has raised over $200 million for the Democratic party. That money helps a lot of people. Especially down ballot. After his terrible debate performance, a few Dems leaders have mentioned that POTUS PJB should consider stepping aside. Well, after the solo news conference he gave yesterday, let's see if those same Dems will do an about face and change their tune. I believe the Dems will keep POTUS PJB propped up to hopefully get re-elected. Behind the scenes, they will have some weird succession plan in the event that POTUS cannot finish the job. The 2024 POTUS choices are set: 1) Incumbent POTUS propped up by Botox shots, stem cell injections and other treatments who feels entitled to collecting all of the money from his 50+ years of gov't service. Setting up his family to be financially comfortable for generations. 2) Former POTUS Orange Julius who is a narcissistic, megalomaniac, neo-fascist, racist convict who wants to turn America into an autocracy. This clown wants to rule like a dictator and roll America back 100 years. Half the country is riding with him and fine wirh it. The choices are clear. Only thing left for voters to do is hold their noses on election day.

POTUS PJB is the better choice over former POTUS Orange Julius. It's unfortunate for America, a country of 335 millions folks, that these two old dudes are the only choices we have to lead the country. Same here. I've also got an escape plan if sh8t goes sideways here.

POTUS PJB just had a 50-minute news conference. Other than saying VP Trump instead of VP Harris, POTUS handled himself very well. Even got a little feisty at times. He did a lot better than his debate performance.
