  1. Yeah. When I read "between 175 and 200 years ago our own people sold us into slavery to european slave traders" my first thought was...nah, the Transatlantic sale was prohibited by law in 1808. Somebody needs to brush up their history. ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  2. My sense of humor is slightly curious to see how long this parrot will continue to cut and paste the same BS before tapping out.๐Ÿคฃ Otherwise, I'd defer to your better judgement. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  3. While we definitely have some issues within our ranks, black folks do not have a monopoly on dysfunction compared to any other group of people throughout the world. Folks would have no reason to immigrate from their home countries to the US if they were so responsible, structured and resourceful. The reason many immigrants cannot build a better life at in their home countries is dysfunction ( poverty, violence, political instability, poor infrastructure, etc.). ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  4. Bro, I respect it but I do appreciate your presence and contribution. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  5. Just like drugs, illegal guns are poured into the AfroAmerican community. If a record number of AfroAmericans started buying legal fireams, gun laws would be changed overnight.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  6. As history books are being white-washed, holidays might be the only way Americans have a reason to learn about and/or remember events of historical significance to AfroAmericans. I hope we keep Black History Month too. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  7. There is no reasonable justification for it but hate is definitely not the reason black folks commit crimes against each other. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  8. IMO, no POTUS to date has really done anything specifically to help black folks anywhere around the world. There's always a catch. From "ending" slavery to passing Civil Rights legislation, those actions made the POTUS look good from a moral perspective. Otherwise, most everything a POTUS does directly enriches shareholders i.e. benefits he wealthy and indirectly trickles down to the people. That's why the American people are being overcharged for loans, prescription drugs, food, gas, etc., Follow the money.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  9. Wait a minute...you've gone from one extreme to another my brotha๐Ÿคฃ: 1) There is no Life After Death...just ask Biggie Smalls 2) Space Fantasy...It only applies to the folks who want to escape the Earth i.e. get away from people of color. 3) Interesting movies---Seem to be fewer and far between as I get older. However, while cable TV is kinda stale when it comes to movies, streaming services Netflix, Hulu, etc. come up with decent content sometimes. I haven't gone to a theater since before the pandemic. 4) Good natured humor--I'm always here it. IOW, there's no limit to the variety of discussion topics we can open up. Of course, it's a double-edged sword because other topics either reinforce or distract from the bigger issue of tackling the system of racism. But, I'm confident that we can walk and chew at the same time.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Ž
  10. https://www.npr.org/2022/06/16/1105445493/keisha-lance-bottoms-biden-administration-position-role-atlanta-mayor I knew it was just a matter of time before former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms made her way to DC. Sista Bottoms will be replacing brotha Cedric Richmond as a White House Senior Adviser to POTUS Biden. This appointment will add more experience to Keisha Lance Bottoms' resume for whatever aspirations she may have in the future. Proud of her moving on up. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  11. Hmm...I reckon an elderly black could make some real good French fried potaters.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  12. I'm keenly aware of US history on many fronts. I used the word tested figuratively during the time when it was actually used to kill people. Sure, Japan awakened the US and forced us to enter WWII. IMO, the Japanese weren't powerful enough to conquer the Pacific and/or Asia. @Stefan...relax mayne. Also, It might be helpful to read what *I* write with a grain of humor too. There is no need to read everything so literally and/or hold folks accountable for what they write. We know your background and experience but we're not your students. Enjoy retirement and the discussions. Relax.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  13. Yes. So very proud of sista Mellody Hobson in her accomplishments as a businesswoman. The first black woman as a part of an NFL ownership group is awesome. It was a great look for billionaire S. Robson Walton (Wal-Mart) to bring Mellody into the fold. Our course, sista Mel Hopkins you're still the OG MH among us. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  14. There would be no need to debate and/or amend voting rights and laws if access was equally free and clear to every American voter. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  15. AfroAmericans still have a long way to go in cleaning up our own house and replacing the system of white supremacy. In the meantime, if AfroAmericans can enjoy the 4th of July (America's Independence Day), we can celebrate the abolishment of antebellum slavery. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  16. The majority of AfroAmericans are not thugs, hoochies and ratchet. I realize it only takes a few bad apples to spoil a bunch or at least the perception of it. AfroAmericans have done everything possible to conform, survive and thrive in a system of racism white supremacy. We have not figured out how to dismantle and replace it with a system of justice.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  17. @Greg, I would encourage establishing yourself within the discussion community prior to throwing the word "ignorant" around. Asians are non-white therefore they are people of color. The reason most non-white people do not complain about racism is because they have accepted the system of white supremacy. Most of the hardest working people on the planet are poor. The least hard working people on the planet control 97% of the wealth. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  18. Asian *hate* crimes and the legislation that followed it is another slap in the face of black folks. There is no anti-black hate crime bill. The DOJ has to decide whether or not to charge the Buffalo shooter with a federal hate crime. Yet, if the same person shot up 10 Asians anywhere it would automatically be treated as an Asian hate crime. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  19. The days of Walter Cronkite news reporting have been relegated to local news broadcasts. News networks have become big business when it comes to selling and spinning narratives using real events. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  20. Lynch is synonymous to murder at the hands of white folks killing innocent black folks. Our brother and sisters wrongfully killed by white cops were lynched. Same goes for the innocent black folks killed by a white racist in the Tops Supermarket in Buffalo.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  21. AfroAmerican men can solve the problems that plague our communities from raising their children to creating economic opportunities and building wealth. However, the proliferation of legal firearms in America is a bigger issue. It still needs to be addressed why white folks need so many guns. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  22. As AfroAmericans, there is definitely work to do in term of getting our own house in order. It starts with AfroAmerican men stepping up to the plate.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  23. Sure. The atomic bomb was developed to halt the threat of world domination by the Germans but it was tested on the Japanese (people of color). ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  24. Juneteenth is supposed to be a day of AfroAmerican celebration. I doubt most folks will talk about voting or anything political. Many of us will be eating and drinking.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Ž
  25. As discussed in other threads here, black folks in America do not have agenda to which they can hold politicians accountable. That's why black folks get the table scraps and crumbs when it comes to politics. They haven't asked for any real sustenance. Just piggy-backing off whatever they've been told to want (jobs, education, healthcare, etc.). ๐Ÿ˜Ž
