Identity is a pretty big issue Troy. African American have no historical identity sepreate from slavery. Every other hyphenated American can claim a country. I have seen a marked difference between African Americans, Africans, Caribbean even English people of African Caribbean descent. It may not have valence for you. However I can agree with tou statement in particular or generally. Since Inam uncomfortable with self appointed arbiter of what is important. .

Pioneer perhaps there is a difference between what you can conceive and what is possible. @Cynique there are some interesting psychological studies about power and conformity. Most people would rather conform to group opinions that go against their own sense perceptions and values. People want to fit in because they are social. Like prostitutes give all of their money to the pimp.

AALBC.com Website Upgrade - What Would You like to see?

Troy Saturn isn't all bad. It's also about structure and successful. So you have created a structure for people to communicate. Also probably a few months prior to that things were organised in a way to make the site possible. -

@Troy Ah it's an interesting chart because Saturn is conjunct your natal Sun within a few degrees. -
There's another element. Domination. Male slaves dominated female slaves. Victims seem to continue the pattern if victimisation. Not always but it happens.

When patriotism degenerates into racism.
Delano replied to Cynique's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
TV and the internet have a low signal to noise ratio. Which requires sorting wheat and chaff. Hanging out got me a cheap apartment in Manhattan, an invite to a Movie premiere and places to stay overseas, interesting stories and people. Although I did win a thousand on TV in the 80's. -

I read books. And i used to read the New York Press free weekly. Which is how i found a few writers. Like David Foster Wallace and Amanda Filipaci. Which lead to anthology. So if i like the writer I read their entire canon : David Foster Wallace, Jonathan Franzen, Kurt Vonnegut, Ishmael Reed , Roger Zelaney. Then there are subjects that pique my interest : Mathematicians, Jungian psychology, astrology, tarot numerology, social dynamics. , erotica. , sci fi and Mythology. And Biographies/Autobiographies Miles Davis , Prince, Isaac Newton. , Albert Einstein. There's one writer i found from TV. Jamake Highwater. He was an American Indian writer that wrote about American Indian mysticism in the 90s. I found out that he was a fraud. He was a Jewish and he got lots if grants ti lecture about indian affairs. Now its more dinner guest once or twice a month. Facebook and Aalbc. There have been shows i have checked out. Mostly HBO and Show time. However after a few episodes it seems too predictable. -

Why Do So Many Black Men Allow Women To Fight In The Community?
Delano replied to Pioneer1's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
Pioneer sometimes you sound like an overseer with an inferiority and superiority racial compex. Het but maybe 1000 people will view it. So maybe you're a leader. -

Troy I don't consume that much mass media. So how is it effecting me. -
Because not all lives matter. The group is evidence of this. How often do we talk about breathing being important. Rarely unless you're a smoking swimming singer.

Move Over Nicki Minaj Make Way for Cardi B!

@Mel Hopkins Our society is sexually predatory. We have prepubescent girls modeling. How many fairy tales have a girl as a prize. Child prostitution is Hansel and Gretel. Absentee parents equals children being consumed. -

We differIn simpler terms, existentialism is a philosophy concerned with finding self and the meaning of life through free will, choice, and personal responsibility. The belief is that people are searching to find out who and what they are throughout life as they make choices based on their experiences, beliefs, and outlook.

I tried to make certain that I felt alive. I never felt I knew enough to be WTF. I heard a minister say there are three things on our tombstone. When you're born, a dash, and when you die. You have no control over when you are born or when you die. The only thing you can effect is that little dash in the middle.

My partner and I were wondering how this would play out if the shooter were Black.

Cynique Troy can be very opionated and does sometime make pronouncements or edicts. Troy is fighting a Goliath that is almost impenetrable. I understand expending huge amounts and not being compensated properly. I don't feel itbis as all consuming though. Sometimes though Troy i believe your principles blind you and in your honest desire ti improve the world. You make statements that aren't quite square with the facts. I am referring predominantly ti our discussion on Climate Change. Mel you are quite goid with your facts. Although your percentages re Black women seem to large. And whike yiu did concede yhe point re Black women voting. It apoarently has fallen short in Troy's opinion. There's an interesting dynamic among the three of you. Which is easier ti see not being in the conversation. Cynique you see Troy as far more narrow minded then he is. He can be strongly opinionated and sometimes his argument lacks logic or reason. Troy are you missing Pioneer in this argument, cause it seems as though you're channeling him. -
