  1. ProfD I think it also depends on the TYPE of Africans you meet. If you're in the D.C. area, then most of the Africans you meet are probably from Somalia, Ethiopia, and Ereatria. They tend to be more anti-Black American than West Africans from say Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal. Many of them consider themselves more Arab than African, especially with their Islamic background. Many East Africans have a history of enslaving other Africans FOR the Arabs.
  2. ProfD If i was a younger man, I would charter a bus to go down there and pick up those damsels in distress and bring them back to my house. Problem is.....half of the "women" you pick up might not even be real women. And you won't find out until it's TOO LATE...lol. Fuck around and pick up Lil Nas X and have HIM chasing you around the house....lol I actually learned quite a lot about the homo/bisexual community in general during my brief residence in Atlanta. One of the things I found out was like you said, a man doesn't necessarily have to talk with a lisp and look feminine to be gay. There's a lot of very muscular masculine dudes who are as gay as picnic basket. Sexual preference is different than gender and your "operating system". Same with women. You have women who are very feminine and petite...but are Lesbian. You also have women who are butch and Tomboyish....but LOVE them some Vitamin "D"...lol. Speaking of which...... I also used to live in Charlotte North Carolina. And just like Atlanta was a capital for gay Black men; Charlotte seemed to be the capital for Lesbian Black women!
  3. Cynique You don't know jack. I know YOU...lol.....and much better than you THINK I do. Your hearsay figures are just as vague as mine. Who is "they"? "They" are the racists, who control most of this society. The same ones who gave Black men Syphilis in Alabama and a host of other diseases yet to be uncovered. @Mzuri and pioneer. i feel confident in saying that in this country with a population of close to a billion people, millions of these people have received the shot and not had serious or fatal complications. This from the same person who said that the Electoral College started after the Civil War...lol. Girl BYE.... Mzuri I was amazed at the speed with which the vaccines were developed. Most people were. And that was one of the CHIEF objections to taking it. So those who were pushing it had to double back and explain that they were working on it since atleast 2011 with some sort of RNA experiments. Which means they pretty much ALREADY had this mess made and ready years ago and just needed and excuse to deliver it. You can go with whatever narrative you choose, but some of us refuse to be a government guinea pig. I'm not trying to see if I will develop blood clots or anything else. I'm doing fine sheltering in place and having all my necessities delivered to my porch. If the rest of you all want to run around town, get on a plane, train, bus, subway, taxi, wherever else, and let everybody breathe on you - And that's EXACTLY what they want to use you as. A guinea pig to experiment on. They're trying to figure out how much GDP they can get out of the U.S. workers versus how many will get sick and die or become so disabled they can no longer work. They are looking for a "sweet spot" where they can keep the economy rolling along and sacrifice so many lives with it. No thank you. They can play THAT game by themselves.
  4. Well....lol....now that you know who I REALLY am...... "Where do we go from here?"
  5. "gone" totally White? There girl has ALREADY been pretty much White for the past 15 years or so with that nearly White skin and blonde hair hanging all over the place. Look like the same old nearly White Beyonce to me. This is one of the reasons I'm opposed to the "one drop" rule. It's too easy for half and even nearly White people to rise to the top of the community and benefit from their phenotype while at the same time CLAIMING to be "Black". In Detroit, Atlanta, Philadelphia and other urban areas you'll find entire communities of light-skinned AfroAmericans marrying, reproducing, and associating among eahcother formulating a little caste-like structure among themselves. In the 60s, 70s, and 80s the Black Power movement kind of broke up MOST of it. When I was a kid you almost never saw two light skinned people together as a couple. If the man was light..he was looking for a dark skinned woman to chill with. If the woman was light...she HAD to have a Wesley Snipes type brother to get down with...lol "If I go down...I'm taking other mofo's with me!" " But after the 90s...that "paper bag" shit started rising again.
  6. A few questions....... 1. Is your husband helping you with paying off your student loan debt? Or is HE in a lot of debt himself? 2. Do you have a degree? If so, what is it in? 3. Are you participating in any movements to erase students loan debt and reduce (or eliminate) the cost of higher education all together?
  7. ProfD Oh man, Atlanta is the gay Black capital....lol. It's the San Francisco of Black America...lol. I remember going to Atlanta about 10 or 15 years ago and checking into a hotel room and saw a RAINBOW PAGES. At first I thought it was just a artistic and colorful print of the Yellow Pages. I started thumbing through it looking for restaurants and kept seeing "Lesbian this" and "Gay that" and "rainbow friendly"..... It didn't take me long to find out what was going on. Then I got a job at a restaurant and nearly HALF of the dudes there were gay, and ALL of the male waiters were. You can't get on a train or get a cup of coffee without some dude with a twinkle in his eye standing over in a far corner staring at you and "inviting" you over to get to know him. "Excuuuuse me. Could you come over here for a minute? I have something SSSPECIAL to tell you. It won't take but a second....I promissse." I'm not sure exactly what happened to that city, but the rainbow runs right through it. I wonder if it may be a....not a curse....but some type of punishment put on the children of the Black people who ran away from other cities.
  8. ProfD It's true that many Africans are hooked on "White Jesus" and see Caucasians are their saviors. They are steeped in religion too. When it comes to being heavily religious with that blue-eyed Jesus on the wall, many seem to be where we were back in 1900s I'll tell you what always worked for me to break the ice with Africans was showing them how much I knew about their particular nation or ethnic group. That usually impresses most people from foreign countries because most of them don't think Americans know ANYTHING about where they come from, especially a Black American. I find out where an African sister is from and drop a little knowledge on her about her own culture, who colonized her country, ect....next thing you know she's sitting next to me grinning away, lol. I actually Africans have a lot to teach us about family, certain morals, and certain behaviors that we lost 50 years ago being in too close proximity with Caucasians. We both have a lot to teach eachother.
  9. ProfD I believe skyscrapers will eventually become luxury apartment buildings and condos as more folks work from home Or high shelters to take refuge in during the Zombie Apocalypse....lol.
  10. ProfD You're right. That's why it's important for former students and other Black institutions need to support HBCUs themselves instead of expecting ONLY the federal government or McDonalds to do all of the heavy lifting to keep these institutions going. This is one of the reasons I have so much respect for Bill and Camille Cosby despite his personally sins. They gave so many MILLIONS of dollars to various Black colleges. He did what most Black people with money should be doing. Whoever pays the Piper calls the tunes. If we don't want half of the young men in Morehouse or Howard walking around in high-heels and miniskirts...we better make sure WE are the primary benefactors of these institutions and not White financiers.
  11. Mzuri After Mel talked about the tax issues with Bitcoin I decided to do a little research on the issue and this was the first site that came up: Bitcoin Mining Taxes and Regulation | River Financial
  12. Maybe China knows something we don't....lol. I'm not very educated on the issue, I admit that. I know next to nothing about it. However I take issue with Black people building too much of their wealth and economy around anything web based, because all it takes is a massive power failure or a major solar flare to wipe out a large portion of your economy. We need brick-n-mortar businesses with paved streets and sky scrapers. Stocks and trades are for people who have already BUILT a solid society and infrastructure and now have time to move on to the more "finer" things. If you can't fill the potholes in your street, fix a damn toilet, or get the plumbing to work in your community your focus shouldn't be on investing in Bitcoin.
  13. ProfD It's also a matter of MUTUAL respect too. Something a lot of people in general don't have or even have a sense of. I admit I do talk about Caucasians and racism a lot, but I can't help myself on that one...lol. But when it comes to REALLY controversial subjects like the jab or trans issues, I try not to speak on them too much out of respect for the site so as not to get it flagged. I'm sure you've dealt with social media and how on some channels ANY mention of those subjects....outside of positive support....will get you blocked/banned.
  14. I'll give them credit alright........ The same type of "credit" Malcolm X gave them. "Credit for being the greatest LIARS on Earth Credit for being the greatest ENSLAVERS on Earth Credit for being the greatest MURDERERS on Earth Credit for being the greatest SWINE-EATERS and DRUNKARDS on Earth HE can't deny this! YOU can't deny this!" GO 'HEAD BRUTHA MALCOLM!!!!!
  15. At over 20 years old......AALBC is literally an INSTITUTION right now. A Black Literary institution. I HAVE said over the years that AALBC should receive an ENDOWMENT. Sort of like colleges and universities receive from various agencies like governments, corporations, and even their successful alumni. I think those of us who've benefited from AALBC whether from Troy selling our books, giving our literature free reviews, giving our poetry a place to be read, or just giving us a platform to speak....should show appreciation. I've said often that if I were wealthy I ABSOLUTELY would be sending in funds to not only expand and promote this site but I really want to see atleast one AALBC PHYSICAL BUILDING where people can hold events, purchase books, and warehouse books and other material. Some of you may or may not believe this but it could actually expand to end up a major Black institution like Morehouse or Howard over the next 20 or 30 years with proper support and funding.
  16. Mzuri Actually, it is our forum. Pioneer foots the bill (though he would probably never admit it) and I manage it. But it is pointless without participants and readers, both of which have increased due in part to YOUR participation. Troy is right. I WOULDN'T admit to it, because I don't, lol. I don't come CLOSE to paying for any of this. He's being excessively honorific because of the few dollars I've donated from time to time over the years. He should know it's really an attempt to APPEASE any guilt I had over not actually purchasing products from a site dedicated to promoting Black literature...lol Since I spend so much time running my mouth on here I figured I better show SOME appreciation. Speaking of which....I think I'll start a thread about it. https://aalbc.com/tc/topic/7674-aalbc-endowment/ Troy Please don’t hold your tongue on my account. Feel free to say what ever you want — What if she wants to promote shopping Am*zon? Lol...would that be welcomed? @Pioneer1 you are going off the deep end you only pay taxes when you realize a gain and depending on how long your hold the coin and what your income is you can minimize our eliminate tax liability. Is your money really stuffed inside a mattress? Shhhhhh!!!!!!! LOL
  17. Have any of you proponents of Crypt(interesting prefix)-o-currency investing studied the LAWS regarding how it's mined and how any income generated on it must be reported on your taxes? From what I've been told, it's confusing and painstakingly tedious....not to mention the laws around how any income must be reported to the IRS.
  18. Mel Also you must report every cryptocurrency trade when you file income taxes. Aside: The weird part is cryptocurrency volatility. It can be a loss or a gain by the time you file. So that serves up some type of conundrum. But anyway, you must report. It’s now law. Absolutely. It's like a stock or commodity and the value goes up and down on an almost daily basis. So you need a PROFESSIONAL just to do your taxes accurately when you're including any wealth accumulated from crypto-currency If a person investing in all of that mess makes certain mistakes, they're liable to be hit with fraud charges. I've said over and over again that it's a SCAM....a GAME....really a TRAP. The word "crypto" is the right term because a person can end up in a financial and legal CRYPT if they make the wrong moves:
  19. ProfD What really pulls me in are those African women...lol. With the exception of Liberia, most African women regardless of the nation they come from are so sensual and sexual by nature that just sitting NEXT to them makes me want to get on it. As a kid I wouldn't even look at an African girl because of the brainwashing. But as I grew up and got older I started just paying more attention to the feminine way so many African women carried themselves and how they maintained their shape and curves....that ALONE is enough for us to bridge our differences. If I had the resources and connections I'd start a dating/marriage service between Africans and AfroAmericans.
  20. ProfD Lol....that nuke was to express how POWERFUL I think the point you made was!
  21. ProfD I think I've solved SOME of the problem. Most men....of any race...aren't very strong. Most men aren't leaders. Most are followers. So what we need is for the INTELLIGENT and STRONG brothers to step up and take the lead and force the others to get in line and the rest of the community is sure to follow along. Peace and Power to the Ancestors.........
  22. Cynique Well I don't know MILLIONS and MILLIONS and MILLIONS of people personally....like you do....to make that assumption. I know when they were selling the jab they said people wouldn't get sick AT ALL. Then when people started getting sick, they said it wouldn't prevent sickness but you wouldn't have to be hospitalize. Then when people started being hospitalized with it, they said you might go to the hospital but atleast you wouldn't die. Now that THOUSANDS of people have gotten the jab and STILL died of Covid....now they're making more excuses. Talking about.... "Well did you get your booster shot? That's the key right there...get your booster and everything will be fine" One lame ass excuse after another to explain why what they SAID would work...isn't working.
  23. I actually get along pretty good with most Africans. But I admit that I kind of go out of my way TO get along with them. If I find out a person is from Africa or the Caribbean I'll go out of my way to introduce myself and get to know them and I'll teach them about the U.S. and the history of Black people in the U.S...and also tell them something about their culture and nation. Most Africans aren't used to Black Americans having knowledge about THEIR particular nation or tribal group. I know there has been a lot of talk of tension between Africans and AfroAmericans, but I think much of it is do to cultural misunderstandings and our LACK of a culture of our own. Let me explain.......... All immigrants who come to the U.S. have their own culture. There own ways of doing things, marrying, language, diet, ect....... As AfroAmericans....we don't. We generally have only 2 ways of doing things: 1. The White way 2. The MODIFIED White way. Which is the White way with a little style or flair added to it to make it unique. This is true with dress, music, diets, family structure, ect.. We don't really have a culture of our own as AfroAmericans. We have a SUB-culture, which is really just a modified form of White American culture...which itself is a modified form of British culture.
