Speaking of which....man I LOVE Indian food. There was this nice Indian buffet I was going to B.C. (Before Covid) with a huge assortment of colorful and delicious food and beautiful brown and black skinned Indian women bouncing all around the place dressed in traditional clothes as well as business attire. They stayed open as long as they could but eventually had to close their doors. Man I miss that place.

That's not much of a punishment. Lol....you do that ANYWAY.

Cynique Anybody can have middle class values if they strive to be upstanding and ethical and hardworking. Can anyone be "hard working" if they don't have any good paying jobs to work hard AT? Can anyone be upstanding and ethical if they weren't taught the spoken and unspoken social rules that govern much of corporate/middle class America? Rules that most people don't learn UNLESS they've gone to college and learned them by association.

Chev Those pics are showing the past president in celebration of this DIWALI Festival. This festival was instituted here in America back in 2005, I think [?]. It was instituted by former president Bush Jr. So, again the significance is to show that it is celebrated in the White House. My first question about this is.....is this a REAL photo? I looks doctored to me. Are you SURE this is an actual photo of them being dressed like this? This is a federal holiday in certain states where schools are out, etc. Now WAIT a minute woman.....lol....how can it be a "Federal holiday" but only in CERTAIN states??????

Not only does financial status and education influence "class" but race and ethnicity also heavily influence "class" in this nation. I sincerely believe that it's in the NATURE of most Black people to want to celebrate with loud music, especially bass and drums. The youth and poor AfroAmericans are just careless enough to let it all hang out and do what MOST AfroAmericans of all social classes and ages want to do anyway but are reluctant to do because of how it may be PERCEIVED by their Caucasian friends or colleagues. Loud music is part of our tradition. As well as public dancing and walking around singing. Throwing Block Parties is another Black tradition that extends beyond class and economic status and is just part of OUR nature. We are a communal people by nature. it just so happens that loud music....like many other characteristics like dressing in loud vivid colors....is associated with "low" class and poor people because so many OF our people have been poor in this nation historically. So it became associated with poverty and low class....instead of a more appropriate association with Black and Brown people.

Troy I would not try to shoehorn these definitions based upon state boundaries. We're not talking about shoehorning though. These are official definitions. Oklahoma is OFFICIALLY a southern state. There is no way around it. Michigan is nothing like Nebraska....but both of them are "officially" Midwestern states. Besides if you got tripped up on the Brother referring to Tulsa as the Midwest, you failed to appreciate the reason I shared the video -- which is surprising given you espousing the importance of Black people supporting each other. After you lecturing me about mis-information you should understand why I value CORRECT information so much...lol. If you start off giving misinformation, even if it's an honest mistake...that let's me know HOW fallible you are and causes me to question the efficacy of the rest of the information you offer. However as I've said time and time again a lot of what we're calling "Black businesses" today are mere internet schemes and scams that produce little tangible benefits for the Black community. It's merely Black men ATTEMPTING to imitate White men in shuffling money around from one pocket to the next....or from your pocket to there's..in various investment and crypt-currency schemes. "Yes!!! I just made $4.35 from my web based crypto-currency "business"! My wife will be so proud of me when she comes home from her REAL job at the hospital...that pays the bills while I play on the computer all day!!!" I'm not a financial advisor or stock broker so I'm not sure how venture capitalism works. But I know what a grocery store is. I know what a hotel is. I know what a gas station is. These are solid concrete businesses that our community needs.

So many of these young dudes have titties from eating so much garbage and smoking so much fake weed messing up their hormones too. On top of that..... They hear that "sagging" is disrespectful and thuggish so they try to do the opposite and start FLOODING with pants almost all the way up to their knees looking like Steve Urkel...lol Just confusion on top of confusion. **WARNING: Sexist, classist, commentary and visuals ahead...lol They'll buy a size too small which makes a fitted dress look like a sausage casing Man you're ABSOLUTELY right about that one. It's mostly a poor woman's thing because I see so many Black, Latino, and White women dressing this way too when they live in poverty. They walk around in these cheap ass stretch pants with runs and holes in them. Ass flat, bulging, or funny made like a square sponge. You don't see rich and middle class women dressing like that. If they have on tights or yoga pants...they make sure they are MADE right to look good in them before going outside. When was the last time you saw and old wealthy woman walking outside with her belly hanging out from under her shirt? They MAKE SURE they got it together. So many poor young women are "funny made" from eating all of that garbage they get off the dollar menu. It seems like a lot of these younger women under 40 have no sense of "shame" either. They don't care how their body is made or how they look...someone told them they should be able to wear anything and get respect and admiration.

Yeah, Oklahoma is right next to Arkansas....clearly down South. If I had to choose another region for Oklahoma other than the South, I would have chosen "out West" like West Texas. No way would I have considered Oklahoma a "Midwestern" state.
