  1. ProfD That's true. A lot of our people won't even write a WILL to ensure their property is properly and peacefully divided when they pass on. Ofcourse a lot of our people don't HAVE property to pass on besides a lot of debt and funeral expenses....causing the family to get on facebook and start Go Fund Me's. Reminds me of that song Papa Was A Rolling Stone and when he died all he left us was ALONE...lol. But one of the problems with codifying and writing down things is a lot of our people are so spiteful and jealous of another Black person that they're afraid if they write down the recipe or instructions or technique....another Black person will out do THEM on their own invention. To many of our people, this is more intolerable than a White person stealing it and taking credit for it. They'd rather their invention just go to the grave with them or let a White man steal it.....than another Black person benefit from it. You go down South and run into some of those old Aunties and Grandmas and they won't talk to eachother or share recipes with eachother.....but Rachel Ray or Martha Steward or Paula Dean can go down there and chit chat with them and get a BOOK FULL of old recipes from these old Black women and go back home and get rich off of the meals. Ofcourse they won't call it "Soul Food" but "Southern Cookin' "........lol.
  2. Yes, there is dysfunction in just about every community in the U.S. and through out the world....however the dysfunction seems to be more PRONOUNCED in the AfroAmerican community. Clearly. It's to the point you can't even hide it or explain it away. Something is CLEARLY wrong with our people collectively and even AFricans from the continent who come overhere can immediately recognize it. For decades I made excuses for these niggaz and tried to rectify it and justify it and smooth it over but after a while I couldn't because after the mid 90s a lot of AfroAmericans started getting BOLD with their dysfunction! Nigga started RAPPING about killing folks and selling dope. Others rapping about welfare and waiting for the 1st of the month and pimpin' hoes for the money. Although it's PRACTICED to a certain extent among most communities....it's usually hidden and considered shameful. I don't know of any other community on the PLANET where this type of dysfunction is PROUDLY displayed and sung over. You know Uncle Charlie has problems.....never had too much sense even as a child, but you love him. It's one thing to keep Uncle Charlie in his room in the basement and feed him and take care of him as long as he's calm and agreeable and just sits there watching television and wetting his pants from time to time. But hell..... When the fool starts throwing furniture and climbing out the window butt naked chasing women down the street or standing on corners with his dick out twirling it around like a key chain "I neeeeed an around the way girl Someone for meeeee!" ....come on bro, we can't make excuses for Uncle Charlie no more, lol. He needs HELP! Maybe the type of help the family can no longer provide! Likewise, the dysfunction of the AfroAmerican community has reached a point where the entire world has taken notice. Our community needs SERIOUS help and it's needed NOW.
  3. You're correct. However the question is WHY.....WHY have they been able to co-opt programs that were originally designed to help our people? Well, first of all.....the question should be asked WAS Affirmative Action INDEED designed to ONLY help AfroAmericans even in it's inception, or did we just ASSUME this was the case without examining the legislation more closely? Maybe when it was first agreed upon back in the 1960s and 1970s, the legislation indeed DID say AfroAmericans AND women and quite possibly Latinos as well, but it was read through thoroughly so the rumor spread that AA was designed ONLY to help us and other groups took it. I'm not sure of this, but it's just a question I raise. However with that aside........... As I've said time and time again, we can't get mad at the Asians, Latinos, Gays, or White women if THEY have sense enough to organize and take advantage of programs and legislation that were designed for us that WE won't even take advantage of. They're being smart and organized....you can't tell them NOT to be...lol. Just like you can't legislate intelligence, you can't legislate AGAINST stupidity...lol. There is no law they can pass....no Reparations bill....that will heal or cure "stupid".
  4. Ofcourse, growing up in an extremely diverse world class city like New York.....you get exposed to a lot more of what this world has to offer. When I go to New York, I see people practicing entire RELIGIONS I hadn't heard of....lol. Hadn't even heard of their religion, but here's a bunch of niggas with rags wrapped around their heads standing behind tables in Brooklyn selling oils and trinkets and talking with fake accents...lol. Places like Chicago, Detroit, and Atlanta has the same thing but to a lesser degree because of the lower population. I'm sure there were SOME Black folks who practiced the Black sign language but I didn't know about them.
  5. As the good Professor often points out, one of the biggest differences between AfroAmericans and White Americans is the fact that we don't have a habit of properly CODIFYING our intellectual and technological inventions. White people LOVE to write things down. The have a habit of document them, then pass along the information. But a lot of our people don't want the bother. Too many of our people look at recording and codifying our inventions and parts of our culture the same way some people look at slipping on a condom during the heat of sex.....taking time to do it breaks the momentum, lol. But failing to codify our inventions lead to a number of problems like them being made or done the WRONG way since there is no established code to ensure they're being made or done the proper way; and obviously it leaves your inventions open to being stolen and others taking the credit for them. We've invented languages.....that were either stolen by White people or lost. We've invented types of food....that were either stolen by White people or lost. We've invented dances....that were either stolen by White people or lost. We've invented machines....that were either stolen by White people or lost. We've invented music....that was either stolen by White people or lost. We've invented medicine.....that was either stolen by White people or lost. .....not to mention them taking the credit FOR coming up with these inventions in the first place and then turning around with an evil grin on their faces and asking us: "What have negroes EVER invented? What have you people EVER contributed to science or even humanity?" Maybe as AfroAmericans we need our own PATENTING institutions so we can protect our own property from being appropriated and outright stolen along with the credit for invented them.
  6. richardmurray To be honest with you, I didn't even know Black sign language even EXISTED. AfroAmericans still speak various forms of Ebonics in different pockets of the United States, but the dialects aren't codified. One of the differences between AfroAmericans and White people is that we have a history of not CODIFYING our intellectual and technological inventions.
  7. But the question Delano asked was: Which was more powerful Power or Knowledge or Belief Again, the answer is in the question because how can ANYTHING be more like a thing, than the thing ITSELF? How can ANYTHING be more like power or more powerful than POWER ITSELF? This is like asking which is the wettest.....water, rocks, or trees? The answer should be OBVIOUS. What can possibly be wetter than water itself? Which is the sweetest....sugar, lemonade, or ice tea? Again, the answer should be obvious.....how can any of those made FROM sugar be sweeter than sugar itself? Likewise, if we ask which is more powerful.....power, knowledge, or belief. The answer should be just as obvious. How can knowledge or belief be more powerful than power ITSELF. Infact, if we want to be absolutely SCIENTIFIC about it....you can't have too much KNOWLEDGE without POWER anyway. It takes a certain amount of energy/power to operate the brain in which the knowledge is comprehended and retained. No power to the brain.....the brain rots and the knowledge is lost. It takes a certain amount of energy/power to operate a computer to store the knowledge. No power to the computer....the knowledge remains dormant and useless on a microchip and all you get is a black screen until someone turns your electricity back on....lol. "I done paid dat bill already. Detroit Edison better stop playin' I got work to do!"
  8. Because the United States is supposedly a "free state" founded on the Constitutionally guaranteed principles of freedom of speech and freedom of expression, the elite and powerful racists must find ways to LEGALLY control and manipulate you. They do this in several ways. First of all, most of the media publications are PRIVATELY OWNED....not public. So if you say something on television or in a magazine or on a website that the elite and powerful racists don't like....they can legally suspend you or just kick you off and cancel your show. It's not the government doing it, it's a private entity doing it and since there is no public alternative....you are essentially banned. Same thing with employment. Most jobs are privately owned or corporations managed by private management. So while you have the right to saw whatever you want without being punished LEGALLY.....if you say something they don't like they can just fire you for it. Unless your job is Unionized, there is no recourse since they have been given the right to hire and fire whom they want for any reason or no reason. Unlike Europe and Canada, there is no nudity or cussing allowed on regular U.S. television. Not just because the government banned it through the FCC....but because private media executives have gotten together and decided to keep it off the FREE airwaves and make people PAY to see and hear it through cable and satellite. Public housing has been replaced by PRIVATE housing with Section 8 vouchers, which allows for further discrimination. These are just some of the ways privatization has deteriorated much of the U.S. into an oppressed and subjugated state with fewer liberties.
  9. Chev HOWEVER, I don't want to shut out my sistas, so I will say this; If Black women are not getting sufficient attention from Black men, then what are they suppose to do!? I'm not sure what you mean by "sufficient attention" so I'll let you explain it, however I'll say this..... Everywhere I go where there are Black men and Black women, I see Black men giving Black women PLENTY of attention. Smiling at them joking with them, flirting with them, asking them out on dates, trying to do this...that..and the other. Infact, in many cases it seems to me that Black men are giving a lot of Black women MORE attention than they want...lol. I think with some of these sistas....it's not so much the AMOUNT of attention that's the problem but FROM WHO they are getting the attention from that could be the problem. Perhaps they want more attention from NON-BLACK men and less attention from Black men. I believe that we need to edify the Black culture here in America, but there is nothing wrong with inter-racial unions as long as it does not define us 'as a whole'. Black women NEED male coverage. We deserve this just as any other kind of females. I chose to bond with a Black man and although, it has been a hard road due to racism and such, however, I don't believe that all Black women have that opportunity. So in the case of the subject OF MALES, I believe that MALES WILL BE MALES!!! --No matter what 'race', men will be men and this world needs male dominance and male understanding too! FACTS UPON FACTS!!!
  10. Except for my assertion that knowledge is POTENTIAL power, I haven't made any of the above points you're arguing against. My assertion is that POWER is more powerful than both knowledge and belief. I can believe this, you have the spirit of a teacher....lol. We used to LOVE substitute teachers when I was in school. We'd do all kinds of mischievous stuff to them and clown all day in class because we could easily take advantage of most subs....LOL. We had a substitute teacher in school who's butt was so fat that when kids would put a tack in her chair....she wouldn't even feel it. We had another substitute teacher who was so skinny and ass was so boney that when the kids put a tack in HIS chair....he bent the damn tack!
  11. Ooowee, guess what I found on the net this morning..................... Ukraine's Zelenskyy meets Greta Thunberg and others to address the war's effect on ecology Yesterday 4:56 AM Ukraine's Zelenskyy meets Greta Thunberg and others to address the war's effect on ecology (msn.com) Climate activist Greta Thunberg latest world leader to meet with Ukrainian president (msn.com) So I guess studying the effects of war on the ecology is a "legitimate" subject now, that the White folks Stefan respects have focused on it. When I was talking about it...it was "fanciful" and "preposterous". But now that White folks are talking about it in the mainstream media, I guess it's worthy of discussion. This is one of the issues I have with a lot of college educated negroes. To many are TRAINED to only think inside the "box". Their ability to think outside of the box and decide for themselves what subjects should get the attention of humanity without the input and guidance from White folks, has been neutered in too many cases. Then comes along a White man or woman who comes with an unorthodox point of view and then these niggas bow down and start worshipping them as "mavericks" and "trail blazers" when they'd call another Black man with the same idea "crazy".
  12. Chev You guys almost led me to change my first BELIEFS! Yes, I initially thought about the verse 'Faith without works are dead' in relation to POWER in relation to ACTION. Yes, actually that verse was one of the first things I thought of when I was typing out my response to you. But I was going to hit you with that verse a little later...lol. BUT no, I will stick with my original statement, in that KNOWLEDGE is more powerful than both, POWER and BELIEFS. How can knowledge be more powerful than power itself? Power IS powerful. -Just like the question how can hydrogen be more watery than water itself, when hydrogen is only a COMPONENT of water? How can knowledge be more powerful than power itself when it's only a COMPONENT of power? Knowledge is POTENTIAL power. ....but it has to be mixed with ACTION to get to power. But power itself is DIRECT power. Unlike Kool Aid, no need to mix it up, it's already made. Just as I thought that KNOWLEDGE = POWER, however, this thread has caused me to rethink this! Too often we grow up hearing these slogans and phrases and just accept them without questioning them. But when you sit down and think about it, much of it makes no sense. Another one is telling children you can grow up and be ANYTHING you want to be. We know that's false, because we know a child can't grow up to become a comet or planet...but just feed them lines of bullshit anyway because they SOUND good, lol. frankster Hence the reason why I could not contextualize..... I'm glad we agree on this point! Knowledge Is being aware of facts.....Understanding is knowing how when and where to use/apply those Facts Correct. For Knowledge to be or become Power two things are required Know How (Skill/Practical Knowledge) and Resources. More facts! In your Example above Skill is training and resources is the gun. Belief is comprise of two things Imagination and Will....Both of which are natural to all. Can't argue with any of this....lol. ProfD I do not believe knowledge is synonymous with truth. We *know* a bunch of sh8t that ain't true. But do we really "know" it...or do we just THINK we know it? ....which is why you put "know" in quotes...lol Because if we really knew it, we wouldn't have been surprised to realize we were mistaken. If I see a house with people sitting on the porch and cars in the driveway.....I'll ASSUME that house is occupied, but it could be vacant. I thought I KNEW the house was occupied, but later on found out it was vacant. I didn't KNOW the house was occupied, I just BELIEVED that it was. I didn't have knowledge, I had a belief that I THOUGHT was knowledge.
  13. I believe this happens to me as well sometimes. That's why I often double check and edit my posts. I believe there are specially apps and racist programmers behind the scenes who are assigned to make mischief and manipulate Black websites like yours in order to cause confusion and so discord, but ofcourse you probably don't believe that....lol
  14. I LOVE how the female lion nudges and snuggles up to the male lion after he chases the enemies away. Made me horny as I don't know what....lol. I'd love to run a bunch or racists away and have the sistas around me hop in my lap and slobber all over me in appreciation for my strength and courage. .....as opposed to them actually getting angry and saying, "Why yall do that? Why yall hatin' ? Leave that white boy alone! Yall just jealous!" Then running over and grabbing him by the arm and kissing on him just to spite the Black men seeing this.
  15. Well....... As I like to say often when it comes to Black politicians, as long as they don't hurt....they help. In other words...... As much help as our communities needs, ofcourse we'd like Black politicians to do more to help our people. But the way things are structured in the U.S. currently.... With SO MANY politicians who come in an make things worse, we have to be grateful for those politicians who come in and do NOTHING. As long as they get in office and don't do any actual HARM to our community but only get a check, let us be thankful for them too! Because you could have someone who comes in like a Clarence Thomas that gets in the seat and helps the enemy do MORE HARM. Also, as someone mentioned already. On a micro level....if ONE Black family (in this case that politician and his/her family) ends up doing better and getting richer because of that political office they hold...then it's worth it. You won't be able to save ALL of our people anyway.
  16. Why not? The women were feminine and attractive to me. Their ignorance was a little sad, but understandable in the context of things. ProfD The sad fact is, many Africans and Asians don't just get their negative views of AfroAmericans from the media....they get them from their PERSONAL EXPERIENCES living in America itself! All you have to do is go to any major city in the U.S. and see the swarms of homeless Black folks on the street, the vulgar women cussing and fighting eachother in the street, the young men walking around with their pants sagging and quick to fight somebody over the silliest of reasons....and even the most open minded visitor will find it a challenge to go back home with the most positive view of AfroAmericans, lol. I tell people now it's not so much about the media portrayal of us as it's REAL LIFE nowadays. The movies, Gangsta Rap, and talk shows that the racists have promoting over the past 40 year to socially engineer our community has certainly had an impact.
  17. frankster It is nearest truth we have until more compelling information takes us closer to truth In some cases...yes. I've found information (not sure how true it is) hidden away in private physical libraries that SEEMS to be true or closer to the truth than the tons of information I came across on the subject over the internet. Many have ventured into Parallel Universes and Timelines thru Sleep Dream Trance Drugs and Flora (plants) Consumption Sweat Lodge Illness or Meditation etc ...Too much ways to mention all. This is true. However none of it negates the fact that Dreams can also get you there. I already showed you that these are African and Eastern philosophies. You showed me where some of these are ALLEGEDLY Eastern philosophies...not African. I challenged you to show me authentic African writings where these concepts can be found and you failed to do so. BTW, I said "allegedly" Eastern because so often a lot of Hindu and Buddhists from Asian nations claim that the West takes SOME of their religious and spiritual content and perverts it and corrupts it while claiming it's "Eastern". So we must be careful of ANYTHING that passes through the hands of Caucasians. You haved.. Can you show me where I made that argument? They do not take those risks those risk are foisted on them by the very nature of them being alive. LOL....so you're going to argue over SEMANTICS???? Ofcourse you are. I am Not going anywhere or hearing anything....all I am doing is remembering these things in different ways. Perhaps in some dreams. But not in others. I don't think you want to accept the fact that SOME dreams aren't mere memories, but actually different Realities period. That a skill Perhaps.
  18. frankster Pick Your choice...I find meaning in most Bible Stories - Therein lies the Truth Well "finding meaning" isn't the same as confirming or verifying that something is TRUE. You can "find meaning" in the trail of slime that a snail leaves as it crawls across the sidewalk...lol. It's not about "my choice", I'm asking you what stories in the Bible have YOU confirmed as being true? Ok...so let's start at the beginning. What about the story of Adam and Eve and the talking serpent; have YOU CONFIRMED this story as being truth? And if so, how did you confirm it? It is most definitely so if I am also completely made of the same thing. Yes, IF you were COMPLETELY made of the same thing. But you're not....which is why you are different from it. You may have water IN you like the lake, but you also have other things in you the lake doesn't have like Vitamin B, Vitamin E, testosterone, Omega 3 acids, etc....so you're NOT the same thing. We are 70% water....so we are more Lake than flesh and blood Lol....read the above. Also, the lake probably has aligators and snakes it it....you don't. So again, even if you were 99% water you wouldn't be the same as the lake. You're in it...SOME of it is in you....but you are NOT the same as the lake. Show me a Being that is not in part and whole of Nature I'll show you two: A telephone A jet plane What Part of Existence is not Nature??? See my previous response for atleast 2 examples. And there are many many more. If it's the Only it cannot also be the First until there is a second.....Is there a second Supreme Being? To answer your question, to my knowledge NO there isn't a second. First may IMPLY that there is a second but doesn't necessarily MEAN there is a second. Sometimes the first can be the ONLY as well. Karen Bass if the FIRST AfroAmerican female mayor of Los Angeles and so far she's the ONLY one. Exactly....Objects Only exist by being Observed I don't ascribe to this theory. I don't think "observation" has any impact on the existence of a thing. If This Supreme Being exist in Time and Space them it is a Product of Shared Physical reality. The SUPREME BEING exists both in and out of Time and Space. To Create something from so called Non existence is to be left with Non existence. No, that's not true. If that was the case, then you would have to believe that everything that exists RIGHT NOW has ALWAYS existed. Nothing from Nothing leaves Nothing . A song by a LIMITED human being who can't even MAKE most things, let alone CREATE them. Bought into existence from where? The question wouldn't be from "where" because it's not being brought from a particular PLACE. It comes from a particular B/being....a Creator. So the question would be from W/who??? How do you know that this Being is most effective? Because this BEING is the SUPREME. If there was another BEING more effective then THEY would be the SUPREME BEING. It's not hard if you think about it. Of all the Beings in existence, the most Effective ONE will be the SUPREME. The most Powerful ONE will be the SUPREME. The concept isn't difficult to understand. You said this Being is Supreme....if this Being is supreme there must be Lower beings? Absolutely. Infact all other B/beings are Lower than The SUPREME BEING.
  19. richardmurray The orgies and wild sexual escapades don't just go back to the 20s or 1800s but way back pass the Roman and Greek days....lol. There are historical documents of Roman officials engaging in wild sex parties full of homosexuality and even bestiality where they'd bring animals in. Among Africans, it wasn't perverted like it was among the Europeans.....but the sexuality was still far greater. Most African societies before Christianity and Islam was introduced to them promoted sex activities and sex rituals that often involved every adult in the community where people would have sex with eachother in public, in temples of worship, sex by the group, etc.... Nudity was a part of their art. They even had stories of Deities engaging in sex and sexual practices. Right up until the 1970s America was headed in the right direction as far as sex in the media and promoting nudity and sexual activities in the movies. But during and after the Reagan Era....it got perverted. AIDS and the LGBT agenda took things in the wrong direction to the point that natural sex between men and women is becoming taboo while WEIRD and QUEER sex is becoming more mainstream in this nation.
  20. No, I don't have access to IP addresses. But when I do log in I can do things like access people's history, what they're viewing, and their signatures. So being a member DOES give me access to more personal information than just viewing.
  21. This is why I love speaking with Africans.....especially in real life. It gives me an alternative view of looking at the world and a more broad view of what's happening around the planet.
  22. I think I get the gist of your question...........lol. Yes, I do think AfroAmericans vocalize our problems in public more than other groups. For two reasons: 1. The problems our community has tends to be BIGGER than they are in many other groups. Whether you're talking about drug abuse, broken families, high incarceration, homelessness.....these problems exist to a certain extent among ALL races and ethnicities in the United States but the rates tend to be higher among AfroAmericans at this time. They weren't always that way, but in the past 30 years or so it has been. 2. Unlike most Asians, Latinos, and even Africans......English is the ONLY language most of our people know how to speak so when we want to communicate with eachother whether it's about success or problems, we only tend to do it in English. So just about everybody can see and hear what we're talking about even if they aren't part of our group. This is one of the reasons I'm a pretty big supporter of us developing and teaching EBONIC to our children and codifying it. So that we'd have a second language of our own that we can communicate with eachother without the devil SNOOPING in and monitoring us.
  23. I have mixed views on Affirmative Action. On the one hand, the biggest beneficiaries of it are clearly White women and have been for decades. On the other hand, who's fault is THAT???? Actually most Affirmative Action programs allow both sex AND race to be used as qualifications for employment and job placement so AfroAmericans COULD take advantage of it and use it to our benefit just like White women have....but just haven't mostly out of ignorance, division, and indifference. It goes back to the Latino success thing.....I can't blame other demographics for having more sense than the AfroAmerican. If other groups USE the tools that WE actually fought for to benefit us more than WE actually use them....who's fault is that????? Even back as far as being a teenager I noticed that on most jobs White women stuck together and helped eachother FAR more than AfroAmericans did, especially AfroAmerican men. I saw so many Black men sell eachother out and fight with eachother at work over the pettiest of shit! Over pussy, over weed, over who can impress the White co-workers (not the bosses....just the same co-workers!!!!) the most. 2 Black men are cool until a White woman comes over and shows one nigga more attention than the other.....now they ain't talking to eachother anymore. So hey..... I'm not sure how much of a difference Affirmative Action has made or will make as far as our success at this point.
  24. Yes, you overcome power with MORE power. But understand that it's not JUST knowledge that leads to power but as Mel states -ACTION, as well. You have to ACT on what you know. Knowledge + Action -> Power If someone you love has a disease and you want the power to cure it, just opening up a book....reading it....and going back to bed...isn't likely to do the job. You read the book and then ACT on the knowledge the book gave you, to cure the patient. This is why students must become INTERNS before becoming doctors. A period of time for action and doing after and while studying and gaining knowledge. Like the old folks used to say, if you KNOW better than....what???....you should DO better. Acting on knowledge will give you POWER.
  25. Stefan Wow....what an intelligent come back, lol.
