A Little Depressed The Past Couple Days
As far as African immigrants dissing us. It actually went both ways with ADOS disrespecting Africans as the larger Anerucan culture did. Divisiveness is not something I'm in favor of. But I not interested in sacificing focus of clarity in favor if it. When people talking abiut "people of color," a term i don't use it muddies the water. I'll begin to use ADOS. Is it pronounced "A Dos?" Today Africans are the "model minority" while ADOS are continually marginalized. This is currentlt evident in the literature elevated by mainstream publishing. I have no problem with actress cast to play Tubman; she is very talented and it is not like Tubman's warrior spirit is that far removed from Africa. Who would ya'll rather play the part, Zoe Saldana?

ROTFLMBAO! Yeah you are the reference to Wakanda was everywhere. It got to the point where I was sick of seeing it because young white boys invented it and now Black people embrace it believing it is real and are trying visit the fictional place. We are so needy having so much of our history stolen from us -- you ain't missing anything. I see you missed the reason i keep the book on my site. Also there are plenty of books on the site that i dont believe in or even particularly care for personally, but the are on the site because I know there is an audience for them. I'm not sure what definition of capitalism you are working with but aalbc is fundamentally a capitalist entity, but I'm also mission driven and will call hoaxes out as i become aware if them because I care about ADOS.

ADOS is certainly more descriptive. I like the term too -- especially if it includes decendants of the enslaved across the Americas. These 4 letters is an easy way to help explain the difference between a Barack Obama and me. It focuses more on culture rather than skin color or so called "race." However, does anyone think the term might be divisive for the reason i just mentioned?

Then why lead with the big image of the newspaper. Obviously it was put there fir a reason. What was the reason? Then what point were you making for introducing the film? @Kareem I'll take you at your word, but I find hard to believe that you are completely unaware of the most popular "cultural" reference associated with Blackness in recent memory. That would be an inaccurate asssessment. If you look at the page I make it quite plain the the book is a hoax with a link to a page explaining why. The book was on the sites before I became aware that the letter was a hoax. Today if you search the site fir the letter you will discover content explaining the same. I keep the book on the site just for that reason. Beside you must know that real capitalist would NEVER run this site. There are far easier ways to make money. This is correct, but @Delano's comment was appropriate, because you wrote, The implication being that I shouldn't do it. I'm not aware of a book promoting a conspiracy theory or something that is factually inaccurate, on the cover, that is worth opening. There are too many other books and life is short.

I've been a bookseller for over 20 years, yes I judge books by their cover -- every single day. The cover contains clues on what is inside. If a nonfiction book is asserting that the willie lynch letter is factual im putting down and looking for a source that has done some basic research. Dosen't that make sense? The Washington Times is a questionable source conclusions drawn from it are therefore questionable. If someone stepped to me and said, "President Trump said ... " I've stopped listening at "Trump." There is only so much time in a day Brother. As an aside, I believe the guy who wrote the Willie lynch letter is still running around, but that can as much a hoax as the letter. Why mention the great debators? I know you are not using a Hollywood film to bolster your argument? There are people looking for flights to Wakanda too. People still buy the letter through the site , https://aalbc.com/books/bookinfo.php?isbn13=9781930097087 despite me stating it is a hoax. I keep it in the site as a historical record

@Mel Hopkins he's misinterpreted "skin in the game," which mean one has taken on risk. Amazon assumes no risk when they provide an author with self publishing services. Amazon makes money, no matter what, because the author pay Amazon every step of the way. That aside, everthing you decribed is perfectly valid. You can simply make more money without Amazon. For the direct online sale of books I've used two systems. PayPal and Square. There is no recurring cost and you pay a small transaction fee. These system are ok for small budgets and a small number of products. I find Square to be slightly better, than PayPal but the differences are not substantial for POS and online sales. Now that I'm selling thousands of products PayPal and Square do not scale up. After using and evaluating Big Commerce and Shopify; Big Commerce was far and away the best option. I'm going write more about this soon. ---- You can get a free SSL certificate, but Godaddy does not allow you to use it on their webservers (last i checked) I have a website on a host that allows the free SSL certificate and i save a ton of money using it: https://letsencrypt.org/ My web host is ifast.net. The plan I have is 19.99 for the year: https://ifastnet.com/portal/sharedhosting.php one can get a free .co domain so now we are looking at less than $20 a year including the SSL certificate. I have been running this site https://cis3630.org for almost 5 years for less than 30 bucks a year (Im paying for my domain name https://domainsforauthors.com) There are actually free web hosting options out there and used one with my students though these may not host Wordpress very well.

The book cover on "the site that begins with A," that you linked to, says the book includes the infamous willie lynch letter. You should know that letter is a hoax, which makes me question the rest of book.

Hello Privilege, it's me,Chelsea
I've heard so many of these stories of "Beckys" getting off, for stuff they lock Brother up for, it is not funny. I was talking to a former NYC criminal defense attorney last night. She had a bunch of stories of how they through Brother under the jail and realized white women for the same offenses. It was so heart wrenching to see this over and over again she could not continue to do the Job. She also told me some judges are notoriously wicked -- it really makes a difference who hears you case. Justice is not blind, fair, or consistent. White conservatives fair to consider this when they lament that fact that Black people are disproportionately represented in our prisons.

- It's Time For Black Men To Change Their Inner Narrative About Themselves
To the no-TV-owning folks that is very commendable. I own a TV but don't have cable or an antenna. My kids and I share various streaming services. I spend more time here than watching TV. I have not turned mine on in over a week. I think social media is far worse. Unlike TV the interaction is two-way and TV can't continue collecting information about you after you've turned it off. As a result social media is far more manipulative.- It's Time For Black Men To Change Their Inner Narrative About Themselves

Thanks the Amiri Baraka video was professionally shot and edited. The Quincy Thrope video was just me and my cell phone. But some recording of the event, for the record, is better than none. I don't promote my YouTube channel because i embed all the videos on the site and i prefer people to visit AALBC -- not YouTube -- to watch my videos. A couple of years ago I needed a 1,000 subscribers to unlock a YouTube feature. i asked people to subscribe to my channel then, but that was the only time.- Black. Vote,Communities. Of. Color!

Sure I can agree to that. What do you think motivates the likes if Jay-Z or Jeff Bezos?- It's Time For Black Men To Change Their Inner Narrative About Themselves
Interestingly I've never watched Blackish but I've seen two episodes of Empire. One during a panel discussion hosted by my then local NPR affiliate WNYC. I never heard of "Stars." As a kid i watched EVERY show with Black people. I often wonder why none pique my interest today. I did watch each if the new twilight zones {yawn}. @Coach Michael Taylor, ill share the metadata i need to add your book to the site tomorrow.- Legal Protection For AfroAmericans?
I have no problem with you mentioning your business. 1/3 of the post here are people promoting their books and nothing else.- Black. Vote,Communities. Of. Color!
@Kareem your family history is deep. @Pioneer1 the prospect of collecting money from Africans for the slave trade makes Kareem's pipe dream sound completely plausible.- Fairly Intelligent Interview With Rapper Jidenna
Ok will do, though saying he is not as powerful as KRS1 is not exactly a selling point. I listened to some KRS1 video over the years and he is into that illuminati stuff...- Artist Talk with Quincy Troupe
I actually attended Quincy Troupe's reading on Tuesday. It actually was an interesting event in park... Well it is not really a "park" in the sense anyone outside of NYC would think of one, but it is an oasis a break from the density popular concrete that surrounds. The park is near iconic FlatIron building (the former home of St. Martin's Press) and very close to where I teach Baruch College (which is why I went).- COMING SOON: 24-HOUR BLACK NEWS CHANNEL

I started the video, saw it was over an hour in length and I couldn't... I can't imagine a single revaluatory thing this young man should possibly say. @Pioneer1 did you sleep through the entire Blaxploitation Era?- A Little Depressed The Past Couple Days
Yeah that video of him in the Moore's pretending to drink Flint's water was outrageous. I don't honestly believe Obama is a Christian. The last Christian in office was probably Carter. Obama dropped more bombs from Drones than Bush, a real Christian would find.myrdering so many people revolting. I could care less what adults choose, and agree, to do with each other. I dont think the average homosexual is trying to "force" anyone to do anything other that treat them justly. In that regard the fight is similar to the fight for Black justice. But reasons for the injustice are very different, and because if this these fights should not be lumped together as if they were the same. I never use "people of color" when speaking about Black people. The term applies so broadly to so many groups it is virtually meaningless I also think it is confusing, and wrong, to lump all the alphabet people together as if being gay has anything to do with being transgender. I don't use that LGBTQIABCD+ term for the same reason. - It's Time For Black Men To Change Their Inner Narrative About Themselves
