  1. Definitely important to have a Will and Trust Estate. Black folks should have the equivalent of a business plan when it comes to their investments (land & property). For the longest time, black folks have stressed the importance of getting a good education in order to get a good paying job. Well, a good paying job which usually means trading labor for an hourly wage leaves most people just over broke (job) especially once debt and consumerism are factored. A savings account is not the same thing as an investment account. Land ownership means nothing if it is not appreciating in value and/or producing passive income. IMO, in addition to pushing a soild education to increase knowledge, skills and abilities, we should be teaching entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency by way of learning how to build and maintain wealth which brings power. Wealth is accumulated from producing goods and providing services and maintaining and controlling resources. Of course, white supremacy has gotten a thousand year jump on the program but it's never too late to start thinking correctly and making the right moves. 😎
  2. 1 point
In my new status as a divorcee from the black race, it's a relief to be excused from plowing through the bumper crop of "what black folks need to do" farmers. In an economy of opinions, talk is cheap. Yada, yada. Here's my 2 cents. A couple of the many factors that contribute to this country's chaotic state of affairs are: Misinformation. (false or inaccurate information. ) and Cognitive dissonance("when people hold a core belief that is very strong and when, they are presented with evidence that works against that belief, the new evidence cannot be accepted so they will rationalize, ignore, or even deny anything that doesn't fit with the core belief." Franz Fanon) Truth has lost its meaning. Meanwhile, music hangs in there. And that's no lie. (An oldie from the favorite vocal group of The Temptations.)
  3. So, - like i was about to say, Lori and Kim were waging a cat fight, both trying to justify their positions because they, along with the recently-appointed black Superintendent of Police are catching hell for their inability to do something about the out-of-control crime wave in Chicago. Kim is inflexible in her position of not overreacting to misdemeanors, believing petty criminals should be let back out the streets, and that bail should be low for what she believes are victims of a system that is unfair to young blacks. Lori says "screw dat", black-on-black-crime-requires a different perspective. The police chief just quotes figures showing the murder rate is down - compared to the higher rate the week before. Jesse Jackson was propped up long enough to take on the role of mediator and Kim an Lorie agreed to meet to further discuss the problem. Meanwhile, the white head of the Police Union, fresh from his KKK meeting, pled the case for his endangered boys in blue being a favorite target of the shooters. And the beat goes on. Car jackings, expressway drive-bys and personal beefs, too often taking their toll on unintended victims, many of them kids. It's awful. i feel sorry for all those poor Black Chicagoans living in fear of each other.
  4. I'm not surprised. Between the stem cell injections and Botox shots, he has to get out of dodge before he falls asleep and/or starts melting. A 35 year old person can run for POTUS. Yet, the last two have been septuagenarian. By no means am I advocating age discrimination. I just want 20 diverse and smart candidates on the next ballot for the general election. 😎
  5. This is true. It's about developing your self expression. Once you can express your questions you sometimes realize that the answer is in the question. I do believe that answers are all there just waiting to be observed and integrated into knowledge. 😲
  6. True. That's why the code is suggestions. But, I think only reproducing that which one can afford makes sense. We don't need more lost and wayward folks running around being a menace to society.😁😎
  7. I only mentioned Frank's because of the tag line. It's not my hot sauce of choice either. Child's play. I'm a hot sauce and spicy food connoisseur. My dad started me out with Tabasco sauce when I was 5 years old. I've graduated to hot sauces that will put the average person in the ER. 😁 I'm up to ghost pepper, habanero peppers, Scotch Bonnet, etc. Addicted to capsaicin close to 1 million SHUs (Scoville Heat Units). 😎
  8. @Pioneer1 folks with their own businesses are counted in the labor force - they/we are doing the work but we are doing it with W-9/EIN status not a W-2... Now if you mean the essential workers - well we are always going to have those workers in institutional settings hospitals, schools etc., and private-ownership. The industrial age is gone - education needs to change with it and in some cases it has. As for agricultural, the millennials (like my daughters) started growing food in their condos during the lockdown.. I think that's a good start. My daughter grows tomatoes, peppers and some other stuff. I tried to grow herbs but I made the mistake of taking them outside and the bugs ate them up.
  9. Mzuri, the code being referred to merely says that a woman should not have more children than she can afford to raise by herself. To your point, it is because the man may not be around to help for whatever reason. 😎
  10. The message has to be blasted everywhere, print, media, music, etc. Gotta put that sh8t on everything like it's Frank's Hot sauce. 😎
  11. Right. Only a handful of people will start businesses and somebody has to do the work. WEB DuBois called it the talented 10th. However, if every worker has a an entrepreneurial mentality (think like a boss), they will own the work they do and enjoy it, Folks trade labor for money in jobs they hate and consume a bunch of unnecessary sh8t to make themselves feel better. Drugs and alcohol are popular. If a business owner has motivated employees whether they are working on a farm or in a warehouse or office or driving a delivery vehicle, who feel empowered and invested in the work they do, everyone benefits. Rich is relative. Being able to cover the basic necessities in life (shelter, food, clothing, transportation, entertainment, etc, ) without having to stress over it is enough for most people to feel rich. 😎
  12. Read it about 5 times and STILL didn't see an actual name of a person that Black people should have voted for or should vote for today. A lot of complaining, insults, baseless accusations, etc....but no actual NAMES for who Black people should be getting behind to support. So the question remains to you sir:
  13. With so many people having access to similar knowlege and information, it should be easier to determine whether or not "free and fair elections" have been compromised one way or another. Meanwhile, there's enough conspiracy theories to keep folks dazed and confused; debating on the internet, TV and watering holes around the country. Politics has become a circus and magic show for adults. 😁😎
  14. Whew! Ok now you're speaking my language of love 😍
  15. I recently learned of "Heirs' Property" through a ProPublica news report. Link: https://features.propublica.org/black-land-loss/heirs-property-rights-why-black-families-lose-land-south/ The practice is another side-effect of racism - where many Black Americans especially in the south were suspicious of the courts, legal system, etc. When they died intestate the property was left to the heirs. Unfortunately, this opens families to additional theft of property - not through eminent domain but greed. The brothers in the story had their land sold out from under them when another "heir" sold the property to developers. The refused to leave the land and was sentenced to prison. It is important for families, non-traditional families - including single parents, cohabitating singles, and even single men and women to file a Will and set up a Trust Estate.
  16. Pioneer, you're tracking as it relates to the social safety net and who wants to benefit the most while leaving non-white folks out. But, bro, you're on fire with comedy from the redneck flipping flap-Jacks at Waffle House and sneezing to the brotha sliding around in a greasy kitchen slinging hot French fries and the pic above...ROTFLMAO.😁😎
  17. Pioneer and Mzuri, you're both correct in this debate. Folks should be able to afford the choices they make. An insurance policy could take care of that mother and her children in the event of a tragedy. However, as human beings, we should never leave others to suffer regardless of their choices and/or circumstances. Unfortunately, the system of white supremacy has a way of obfuscating our humanity. 😎
  18. It's not OK for you to kill someone and post up in their mansion but if it is your mission and it gets accomplished, you were successful. By nature, Black folks do not operate in that manner as we are naturally peaceful. White people enjoy savagery. 😎
  19. Pioneer, I'm new around here and should probably mind my bizness in this debate but Mzuri is correct according to the code. 😁😎
  20. nels If you don't understand that you've been gaslit by the Democrats, the RINOs, the Left, the CCP, the Oligarchs, the Globalists, the Mainstream Media and the like, then there's little value in trying to mature this exchange. If you believe a BILLLIONAIRE from WALLSTREET has your best interest in mind and went to Washington D.C. to "drain the swamp".... "I tell ya.... No one understands working-class values like me!" ....then YOU'RE the text-book example of being gas lit. I did not resume engaging in discussions on these boards for the fun of it I know. The White Republicans put a battery in your back and SENT you on an online mission to sway the Black community and get them to either vote Republican or not vote at all. The question is. How much butter did they promise to slab on those biscuits...lol Mzuri Don’t let these people frustrate you. Don't worry, he's not frustrated. The only time nels will be frustrated is when them White folks cut his money off...lol. When they take his online psy-ops gig away from him and send him back to being a stock-boy up at LOWES. "Look man...can't you read??? It says it right there on the PACKAGE It takes a philips OR a flathead....damn!" .....you'll REALLY see a frustrated nels, lol. Mel And we won't even GET into the voter suppression and outright voter fraud of the 2016 election when Hilary got 3 million MORE popular votes than Trump but somehow he ends up winning the Electoral College???? Why does this keep happening? Serious voters don’t go to rallies during a pandemic. But brainwashed rednecks do. They LOVE participating in covid-spreading events Then go back to their jobs flipping flap-jacks at Waffle House and sneezing all over the damn place spreading the virus. When you started with the name-calling, you showed your hand. Glad you know it’s time to fold. #Bye I guess you can say his antics were the final "NEL" in the coffin...lol
  21. I used to read about mathematics and how it has been used over time. In my quest for understanding. Same with science and scientists. I also read a fair amount about the esoteric. It is only in the last decade, that I am getting close to the answers I have been seeking. I was using the wrong tools. If you look at Einstein, Newton Feynman, Pythagoras, Plato, Socrates, Malcolm X et al. There is a similarity they all had a laser focus and could see an articulate what other could not. They each used the tool that was best suited to their personality to find truths. The old adage is true the answers are inside of you, you just have to use the correct key. It probably helps to be an independent thinker.
  22. The monument to the Lyons will be a very nice gesture. Thanks to the folks who "dug up" their history as it relates to Central Park. Land has been a primary source of white wealth in America as over a century or so they have gotten paid for owning acres of dirt when public and private developers decide to build any and everything. Folks hit the powerball when Wal-Mart decides to buid a store in the spot where their living room or kitchen currently resides. Whenever I hear black folks talk about their family owning land, my 1st question is always whether or not it's producing passive income. Nope. The land is usually tied up in a warped form of family politics or litigation leading to stagnation as an investment. Yeah, when I think about the fortune the Lyons family does not have in relation to the value of land in New York City, I can only shake my head because I know that wealth has been stolen. 😎
  23. I held the GOP precinct committeeman office for my Illinois precinct from 2006- 2008. The TEA PARTY and Q ANON ( still in its infancy) hadn't yet infiltrated the GOP nor had the GOP gotten into bed with other countries seeking to destabilize an already shaky nation teetering on the brink. That GOP is gone - those who vote independent mostly caucus with the democrats now... And the reason why is because the democrats still write legislative policy and do their best to get it passed into the law. Not sure what the government is doing - check here ... It is called the FEDERAL REGISTER a website that you can READ for yourself to find out what's going on instead of saying "JOE BIDEN IS BAD - DEMOCRATS BAD... REPUBLICANS BAD... INDEPENDENTS BAD. 🙄 EVERY legislative proposal (BILL) that has become law since January 21, 2021 - has been passed by CONGRESS (GOP/DEM/IND SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES) and signed by PRESIDENT BIDEN.. SO unless you can share with the class what NEW LAW, you all hate and why... this thread is moot
  24. Here in the US, folks are mainly divided into two camps politically...Democrat or Republican (GOP). On the surface it looks like the two parties have different platforms (liberal or conservative). Yet, they share the same ideology which is the maintenance of white supremacy. Both parties are juggling balls i.e. platform issues. While folks are pre-occupied with the balls in the air, they're not watching the sleight of hand tricks happening below. i've never been under the illusion that either party has ever given a d8mn about the peple. Both parties make decisions based on what's good for business. That is the business of maintaining white supremacy. Regardless of who occupies the White House, they are two sides of the same coin. Follow the money. POTUS PJB (Papa Joe Biden) is the flip side of the same coin once occupied by Agent Orange. Different agenda. Same paymasters. 😎
  25. Mzuri Lol...what's up with the screw face? What's the matter? ProfD If we were to go strictly by that code, then a woman really shouldn't have ANY children because most AfroAmericans today can barely take care of THEMSELVES alone....let alone any dependents. On top of that.... A Black person in THIS society doesn't really know when they'll end up in GREATER CONFINEMENT and away from any children they may produce.
  26. You really don't know HOW many children you're gonna be able to handle in life because you don't know the FUTURE. You might be healthy with a good job and plenty of money RIGHT NOW and alone, broke, and sick as hell 5 years from now. YOU DON'T KNOW And since you don't know the future or how you'll end up, it's nice to live in a society where a STRONG SAFETY NET of social programs are in place that allow you to support yourself and any dependents you might have in the event you fall on hard times. It allows you to keep from falling through the cracks until you can get back on your feet. And even if you NEVER get back on your feet.....atleast you can have a roof over your head and a warm meal in your stomach and not live like an animal on the street.
  27. Mzuri So when I praise the Veteran's Administration and the U.S. Army for the excellent medical care they provide to us, I am a SOCIALIST. Not simply praising it. But when you BENEFIT from it and USE it, you're benefiting from a SOCIALIST program. How are you gonna bite the very hand that feeds you? The medical care that my Husband risked his life for thirty years to receive that benefit. BTW, he's a 100% disabled Vietnam veteran with diseases and ailments from being exposed to Agent Orange, among other things, so he's more than entitled to those benefits and this is the last time I will be posting on this topic, because you have no idea what we are dealing with and it's not some joke. It's terrible that you two are going through such an ordeal. This should be more of a reason that you'd be offended that rich White kids like Donald Trump were able to get deferments and AVOID his duty to serve his nation like your husband did. While Black, Brown, and poor kids were forced to go over to Vietnam and risk their lives...his millionaire father BOUGHT him a "get out of 'nam for free" ticket where he didn't have to sacrifice. If that doesn't make your blood boil...it's made OUT of Kool-aid. But then when you demand medical benefits and free housing for everybody that ever bought a bag of potato chips, you are NOT a SOCIALIST? I think EVERY human being deserves medical benefits and a home even if they didn't buy so much as a pack of chewing gum. They deserve it because they're HUMAN. But as far as politics and the U.S. This is the richest nation on the planet. We have TRILLIONS to waste up in the deserts of Iraq and Afganistan. Surely we can afford to provide every American CITIZEN with free healthcare and housing for those without a home. I'd rather see money spent on American citizens than given away to the Chinese, Germans, and Mexico as "foreign aid".
  28. Most Blk families down South owned land. But they sold it for cheap prices just to leave the racist South and flock to northern cities like Chicago, Detroit, and Philly to get factory jobs or other professions not realizing how much value they actually grew up on. Now many of their descendants are moving BACK down South, and sleeping on the sidewalks of Atlanta.
