  1. The system is rigged. Plenty of Africans have the intelligence to see through the game, but there are always power-hungry individuals who'll act in their own interests over those of their people. The Euro colonialists did a great job of setting up Africa to fail. Some of this is explained by Chinua Achebe in "Things Fall Apart". The English found the more dubious individuals in Ibo society, and put them into the gatekeeper positions. The traditional power structure was ignored. So... you get people with influence who are beholden to the colonizer, who were already somewhat alienated from their own people, and who therefore are more likely to act in their own an in the colonizer's interests than those of their own country. If the intelligent. and more to the point, ethical, people make too much progress, they are "dealt with"... Lumumba, Obote, etc.
  2. Marriage was originally only practice by the rich to ensure their wealth status influence(power) and progeny ...a purely economic and political contract between two families. When it comes to matters of the heart.... If all involve are happy...then I see no blame or fault. - regardless of the BLACK FINANCIAL DRAIN. Culturally in the East having more than one wife is commonplace....Having more than one husband is rare. On the other hand before the rise of Patriarchy...Polyamory was popular.
  3. Good. It is lost on me why you can't understand why we did not post negative reviews on your word -- a stranger on a discussion forum. If you are 62-year-old software developer, one would think this would be obvious, Have you considered that fact that you might be a white racist trying to get us to slam a Black manager? How can we tell? It seems to me with your age and experience you would have been able to navigate this experience better. Have you considered calling a hiring manager a "white racist asshole" on a public review forum might hurt you employment chances elsewhere? Doing that shows questionable judgement at best. As @ProfD suggested, you can become an independent contractor, there are plenty of people who do this; why you think you can't is also lost on me.
  4. I'm surprised you've made it this far in life with that attitude. Good luck bro. 😎
  5. @Pioneer1, you're right...the whole approach to taxation and spending and printing money at will and our economic system is a house of cards. Former POTUS George W. Bush admitted it back around 2007. The house of cards started to implode right before former POTUS Obama took office. The US could have a flat tax across the board. I guess that would be too boring. So, instead, the fed wants to play with interest rates and hedge bets against the US dollar and market forces. Millions of American jobs have been outsourced. Bring that work back home. Also, establish a new version of POTUS Franklin Roosevelt's Civilian Conservation Corps. Pay Americans a healthy wage. No need to over tax Americans. As super consumers, they'll spend the money faster than they can make it. Economy would boom. Unfortunately, a handful of greedy azz people want to control 98% of the wealth in this country. 😎

PREACH! I've been saying this for decades. The Democrat Party is a FAKE opposition party or "controlled" opposition is what they really are. Republican light. We need a real Progressive in office like one of my favorite Presidents Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

@Michel MontvertWhat you say is why I have become so jaded and disillusioned with politics. I wish reform was forthcoming and voters would become more aware and involved but I've also lost faith in people. And I am a bad example, myself. I've given up, just retreated into being a bystander mired in my malaise. My revulsion for right wing nut-cases is the only thing that ignites any fire in me. I fear this country is on the brink of self-imploding because the population is so polarized. I have surrendered to indifference and you have verbalized what has me in its pall. The only way I can justify my cynicism is my belief that the world and civilization have never been or ever will be anything but a struggle for power, and "power corrupts". I am glad, however, that people like you exist to deconstruct past failures and encourage future success.
