  1. I have been patiently waiting for 2018 to arrive so that i could enjoy the final season of Game of Thrones. This was my incentive for hangin' around another year, and i'll be damned if the fools haven't pushed the airing of the final season up to 2019! WTF! (Thank you, Pioneer.) Suppose i croak before then, and never find out how it ends and whether my human race sweetie, Jon Snow, - Snow as in "white" , (sorry Troy, ) finally gains his rightful place as ruler of the 7 Kingdoms! i'm now trying to convince myself that if i leave this crazy-assed world before 2019, i will have an excuse to take time off from languishing in the spirit realm and come back as a spook so i can haunt my old room and watch the last episodes on the TV that will be left there as per my instructions. Life can be sooo problematic. Oh, well. Sorry, Folks. Slow day. I'm outta here. Check ya later. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

  2. Well if all it takes is another season of Game of Thrones to keep you kick in then I hope they push it back until 2050. That seems so crazy that we have to wait till 2019 to see what happens with that series. You better hope the actor who plays Jon Snow does not get caught up in some sexual abuse scandal before then Merry Christmas everyone

  3. Precisely another tactic they all use is abandoning software especially operating systems and hardware. I took all of my CDs and burned them into Itunes on my PC and synced that library with a 160 Ipod which I've had now over 10 years. A couple of years ago my primary computer a desktop crashed. No problem all of my music as well as new purchases from Itunes was on my Ipod--thousands of songs, home videos, movies, pods casts, a ton of stuff. Well a purchased a new laptop and installed Itunes. Do you know Apple would not allow me to import my library to my computer!? They flat out will not provide you with software, help, or even a clue how to do it!? All of my shit was trapped on a 10 year old IPod that uses a miniature hard drive as the storage medium so you know the device's days were numbered along with all of my precious family videos digitized from VHS tapes. Just this week I found some software I had to pay $40 for, but it will take files from anywhere what and put them anywhere. I can download a movie from netflix and import it into my itunes library. It seems software like this would be illegal but Apple's nonexistent solutions creates opportunities for smart people. After I figured everything out on my own Apples support team told me I can now store my library in the cloud. My library will cost $3 a month to store in "the cloud." I said no. They also told me I could pay for a streaming music service they had I told Apple to "fuck -off." At least that is what I said in my head. I simply declined. I will never by another freaking thing from Apple. Microsoft is particularly bad with this. I have another laptop that uses Visita. The lap top works perfectly but there is no migration path from Vista to their newer operating systems. I have to rebuild the computer and buy new software for it to use any of their new software. A brand new laptop is cheaper--which plays right into their hands.

  4. I say, "may" because of the time I spent with her from during her trial involving the San Quintin Six (United National Community to Free Angela Davis and Political Prisoners), her disposition of Black professionals and politics. Yes, she is very insightful.

  5. I have known wine women and song. Yet I enjoy thinking. It may not be a binary problem. There are a handful of people I can converse with and that is sufficient for me. However I am not trying to make it as a writer. The uside is that you can fill this vacuum. You will find people. Over the last two decades Iwas a member of a couple of book clubs. Two discussions groups. And informal collective of night clubbers. Be the change or maybe write it. Recognition forget it or maybe don't make it a priority. Jane Fonda summed up the Mee too movement. How many people work for the greater good. I don't. Most people wt a few things a person, a place, a mode of transport, clothing, and everything else in the shop.

  7. Troy, it was a little too fast (for me, anyway) for the number of books. Just as I was focusing on a book, the next one was up. While the viewer is listening to the brief excerpt, you can linger on the book cover and it won't seem too long.

  8. These big corporate giants are really ruthless and disingenuous. Apple slowed down their older iPhones, and although they denied doing this deliberately, users with these older models think this was done to make them want to buy new faster ones. Apple feigned innocence, claiming that they slowed the old ones down to preserve their batteries, glibly going on to inform that new batteries would bring the phones back up to speed, and could be purchased for $80.00. There's no shame in their game. Why do i find this funny?

  9. NOW, now sister, Cynique, it's a start, for the bothers to think in terms of economics; how else can they realize that WE HAVE NONE? Least of all, understand that a better life has little and nothing to do with economics. Economics is the reason so many brothers are locked away, trying to have a 'good life;' and economics is why for-profit prisons are booming. I find it fascinating how hard we Black folks fight to live the (so-called) good life and why we wonder how our children become blindsided seeking the material wealth that ultimately changes them. If I had a dime for every time I heard a Black mother/father insist his/her child have an iPhone, $100 tennis shoes or jogging suite while failing math or science in school, I would never have worry about ever getting rich, myself. Equally disturbing is how 'flaky' we've become, complacent about right and wrong behavior, especially us males. Our normalization of patriarchy, physical strength and the 'man-code,' and as the factor separating us from our Black females. But the tests of all tests is swiftly upon us; good manners are coming back for Black folks and Whites alike. Because when all 'hope' for a better life is gone, we all get right humble.

  10. At my advanced age, I wish i had a dollar for every time, I've heard a black man mount his soap box and preach the gospel according to economics. I think i could stroll the streets of the inner city, or strike up a conversation at a bougie cocktail party and the downtrodden brothas on the corner and the upwardly mobile professionals would all say the same thing as you loquacious orators. IMO, the black masses have enough sense to figure out that blacks need to get their game together, create their own business and become independent of the white system, so this is not news to them. The question is why haven't blacks done this? Well, aside from the reality of the white power structure in capitalistic America having no intention of sharing its wealth and power with anyone but their own - something the tax bill ready for senatorial ratification confirms, - blacks are focusing on the wrong problem. As long as an entrenched culture, wherein the black underclasses perpetuate a lifestyle that produces a perennial crop of fatherless boys born into the jeopardy of the violent streets, or the eventuality of the prison industry, and as long as middle class blacks are unwilling to sacrifice their materialistic creature comforts and embrace the philosophy of doing what's best for the greater good instead of adhering to the "I-got-mine-now-you-get-yours" approach, black folks will languish in the limbo of consumerism. However, as Troy has previously noted, this is also the fate of the average white population in the Oligarchic States of America where anything that reeks of Socialism being the great equalizer, is rejected. On a less negative note, black folks are at their best when setting short term goals, and focusing on individual accomplishment, adopting an "each-one-teach-one", approach to uplifting the race.
