  1. It's a great question. I've asked myself this scores of times. I don't believe It will ever end. And the reason why is because the god of the ancient Israelites allowed Slavery, mass slaughter and tiered social strata. So, why wouldn't adherents of that god accept the same principles to guide their behavior?
  2. Apologies, Chevdove. I meant Sunset Laws. Such rules meant Blacks and other groups of non-Whites were restricted from being seen in certain towns and counties after dark. While many could work, transit goods, even toil as house cleaners, stable hands or handymen and maids in the daytime, they had to leave when the sun went down. It's how lily White counties, even large portions of certain states - remained all White. Believe it or not, some locales still have such laws in place and they are enforced unofficially. Sundown Laws are often misconstrued with Sunset Laws because they are basically the same - when it comes to race. But Sundown laws usually place an expiration date on public study groups that use taxpayer money. The Jan. 6 Commission had an expiration date. How to battle racism in the future? The most important way is to stop ignoring it which so many on these forums are wont to do. I could not believe that some on here in the past actually claimed that there is no more White Supremacy. Which is absolute bullcrap. Sundown and Sunset Laws were part of White Supremacy
  3. How many ballots does one think it will take before Kevin McCarthy is voted in as House Speaker? Or IF he is voted in. Besides being a villainous and unconscionable fraud, McCarthy also hosted Birthers in his House office - in the Capitol. Nice guy. I wonder if anyone cares to query him these days as to whether Barack Obama was born in the United States. For all you lovers of the GOP, this dysfunction is the just the beginning of the next two years.
  4. The Liberty statue was originally an Italian concept. What is little known is that the Statue of Liberty gifted by France was meant to celebrate the end of Slavery in the U.S. But soon after, it was pushed as a nod to immigrants.
  5. Gaddafi was ousted and killed because he was bombing his own Arab people. At least, that is the official story. Once a popular uprising took hold in Libya, I am certain the CIA and European intelligence agencies all lent a hand. Since President Obama and SecState Clinton always made a big deal about human rights, they felt the U.S. had to openly intervene. But not as with troops sans armor as Bill Clinton did in Somalia. Gaddafi did have a decent idea for Pan Arab and African Unification. But this was not why he was overthrown and killed. Back in 1958, Egyptian President Gamal Nassar combined his country with Syria, creating the United Arab Republic. That lasted until 1971. With Arab nations unable to defeat Israel or match the billions the U.S. gave it every year, Gaddafi elected to try to hurt the West through terrorism. He enlisted several bombmakers in a few countries and was even suspected of bringing down transatlantic Pan Am flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland in December 1988. If I'm not mistaken. The U.S. finally nabbed the bombmaker. Gaddafi was never brought to justice for Pan Am 103 and remained an international scuzz bucket until his death. But some admired him. The revolution against Gaddafi that resulted in his death was no doubt the work of western intelligence. As soon as his death was announced, the hundreds of Blacks Gaddafi had allowed into Libya to work began to be immediately mistreated. Many became Slaves.
  6. @Chevdove Just because some of the most racist areas in this country sport beautiful neighborhoods, this does not mean there is no skullduggery afoot. In their desperation to make what is an ill-advised point of fairness, many forget that states such as Florida were able to develop such nice areas by using Racial Covenants, Sunset Laws and outright thuggery. There are nice neighborhoods practically everywhere. So says the guy who wants Blacks to flee California because so many Latinos live in the southern part of the state now. In effect, this guy wants them to give up the fight to expand their political power. I am thrilled Karen Bass won the Mayoralty of Los Angeles. Little Black and Latino boys and girls need to know and see they are represented. Because a few of us would prefer they not even try.
  7. @richardmurray You are one of the phoniest. You know damn well you wanted me to write a blog supporting the subway terrorist. You are a complete fool. But it does not matter. Eric Adams remains the second elected Black Mayor of New York City. And your terrorist, the dude with the man boobs, will likely get sentenced this week. Like most Black Republicans, or those who are fans of the Elephant Party, you do not how to tell the truth. Get Thee to a Writing Class.
  8. No one wants to posit that all this supposed Russian military greatness was predicated on a fear of nuclear annihilation. The Russians simply could not stomp their way to the Ukrainian capital city. If the Russians wanted to guarantee that Ukraine would not join NATO, they seem to have succeeded. What parents want their sons to die defending a country with a bombed out infrastructure and a demolished power grid?
  9. Discussion titles such as the one for this subject constitute click bait and will result in a whole lot of generalizing.
  10. I spent a lot of time in Florida on business trips. Yeah, the weather is nice. But what I wrote is truthful and one cannot deny it. DeSantis' monster re-election win proves my contention.
  11. @Troy I meant that phrase for that specific ethnic group. The reason why Black people have done poorly is because we are quick to attack, denigrate and undermine each other. We actually hope some of us don't succeed. It would be comical if it were not so sad. I am hoping Karen Bass can leverage her social worker and political skills to succeed as Los Angeles Mayor. I am not conditioned to run from a challenge or give up and run away in fear of failing.
  12. I just cannot believe there are more than a few idiot posters in these forums who refuse to support Black elected officials. richardmurray one thing you are not is a writer. Sometimes, you sound clueless. Richard Shelby is the senior U.S. Senator from the State of Alabama. He cannot be compared with Barack Obama who was President of the United States. There is little comparable about the two except both are American. Their spheres of respect and power were on vastly different levels. Their job duties were different. Shelby represents a southern U.S. state while Obama had stewardship over the entire country. You seem to have it in for Black elected officials. I guess that's why you private messaged me a few times trying to get me to author a blog supporting subway terrorist Frank James. Because in your mind, you thought James trying to kill innocent subway riders would make New York's second Black Mayor, Eric Adams, look bad. Or constitute a blow against growing homelessness. I cannot believe you are this stupid. And don't try to deny you asked me to write that blog for you. Black elected officials are often limited in what they can ask for. And here is why. What is their leverage? If a state, a city or a county rejects their ideas, pleas or demands, what then? What pressure can a Black elected official bring to bear? Not much. They cannot threaten to withhold their constituents' votes because that may cost them their own post. In Obama's case, this was different. Obama could have and often did use his "Bully Pulpit." That's when a POTUS speaks out forcefully, making the entire world listen. Not all in government will want to do what a POTUS wants them to do. But the fact most of the world's news media will focus on him at that moment cannot be dismissed. Think all the world's news media is going to queue up to listen to Sen. Shelby? The problem with you, RichardMurray, is that you do not understand how the U.S. political system works. But you're always ready to say some dumb chit, such as a Black political party should have been established in the U.S. in 1865. This was at a time when few Blacks could vote. You even coined a bizarre name for this. You called it a Black Party of Governance. Do you even think about the stuff you attempt to foist on people? There will always be disparate levels of power in the U.S. with Whites invariably at the top. Get that through your friggin' head. Just because there are two Black U.S. Senators, Tim Scott of South Carolina and Raphael Warnock of George, this does not mean they can do a lot for Black people in their respective states. Scott is a Republican. Warnock is a Dem. When is the last time a Republican U.S. Senator did something that benefited most Black people? Dude, seriously. Go back and read up on the racial dynamic in U.S. politics.
  13. Most have little clue how news stories are put together. It is not that Brittney Griner is actively looking for news people to talk with. They seek her out. Most who follow Women's Sports wanted to know if Brittney Griner would play again. So they besieged spokespersons for the WNBA and the Phoenix Suns. If one is in a position that calls for you to address a question, you cannot hide forever. Especially, if that is your job. Depending upon the issue, the person or persons in question and the risk of exposure, one thing about really good reporters - they are relentless. I know I was.
  14. Whoopie Goldberg is not Jewish, nor did she ever convert. Whoopi Goldberg is her stage name and over the years, the comedian has uttered comments that have fired the imaginations of many - including some on this forum. Why do you always worry about celebrities so friggin' much? Are you licensed or have contracts to receive money from their performances? Their controversies? Like a lot of Black people supposedly in the public eye (and mind), Whoopie needs to shut the fugg up about Jews and other ethnic groups. She's only hurting herself. She is not that rich or that powerful. She still needs a gig. Do you know what the root of anti-Semitism is? Envy.
  15. It will surely seem as if Christmas has arrived a second time for White Supremacists in Florida. That’s because Jair Bolsonaro, the White skinned and defeated President of Brazil, has left his country to head for the Sunshine State. This gives the southernmost U.S. state on the mainland three racists in residence: former President Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the demented Bolsonaro. According to a few news reports, Bolsonaro is headed for Orlando, Fla., the land of make-believe and Disney. ( When you wish upon a star that every Blackie lives afar. ) like Trump Bolsonaro, refused to attend the inauguration of the man who whupped his ass at the polls. Trump snubbed Joe Biden. Bolsonaro did the same to Luis Inacio Lula da Silva. Both Trump and Bolsonaro enjoy a dim view of Black people, no matter where they live. And both men have little problem demonizing certain women or idolizing a military that will gladly do their demonic bidding - including slaughtering the Indigenous, environmentalists, those who believe in Free Speech and of course, any kind of protester who is against their rule. DeSantis hasn’t yet come out and announced his open hatred for Black people. But he’s sure been acting like it, whining and being disgusted at the mere mention of a historical racist atrocity. DeSantis does not seem to care much for Latino migrants either, even reaching into Texas to grab some and send them to Martha’s Vineyard. Oh, what a time it shall be living in Florida. I can't wait for the group photo. Rejoice, Republicans!
  16. If everything goes according to plan, Brittney Griner will play next season for the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA. This is good news and I am hoping her security can foil the haters and disgruntled.
  17. @ProfD Discussion Forums are not writing classes. Constructive Dialogue is all well and good when it is constructive. What has been constructive in these forums? The capitulation to lying and racist Republicans who want to do Black Folk in? Defense of some of the most addled-brained politicians in recent memory? Minority children must be deprived of nutritious meals because tax money most go to the richest through tax cuts? I have not seen any constructive criticism. How do we stop this? Not by Blacks fleeing California, holding Mike Pence up as a sterling example of the Intelligentsia, endorsing endless overseas wars, putting down the poor and voting for politicians who think it's their right to deny healthcare to the most vulnerable. I have yet to read of any workable solutions to these problems. If you read the lines or between them, you'll glimpse the complaints. I don't expect to find good writers on most forums. But I loathe the ones who lionize those who hate us.
  18. @Troy What was written here? You gotta be kidding. There are not that many good writers on this forum. And what I said is true, judging from the attitudes of Obama Detractors. They act as if they have all the answers. Obama was not responsible for crime. Those who commit the crimes were. "Obama didn't do this for Black people. Obama didn't do that for Black people." As if any of those loudmouths had Obama's charisma, his communications talent, his ability to sway detractors and non-believers to his side. Obama did what he was elected to do, prevent the Great Recession from morphing into another Great Depression and ending the Iraq War. With the amount of venom directed at Obama, his first Lady and their two daughters, it is practically a miracle the U.S. Secret Service managed to keep them all unharmed in this super racist country, where the most violent are armed to the teeth. I wish Obama could have done more, but he faced unending and unswerving hatred and opposition. The problem with most folks on news forums and in discussion groups is they do little but whine and gripe. They rarely offer workable solutions.
  19. Many Black men, and I suspect this of some in this forum, remain insanely jealous of Barack Obama. His ability to think rationally is far superior to them His superiority at public speaking diminishes them His calmness galvanizes others to be inspired by him Unlike the grandstanding phonies among us, Obama does not seek to isolate Black people. But welcomes all who agree with our progress. The ones who claim Obama did little for Black people miss the entire point of his campaign and time as POTUS. So, one more time for the clueless: Barack Obama was not elected President of Black America. He was elected President of the United States. And he was great at that job. He was not able to embark on a grand Marshall Plan for Black Americans. There remained so much hatred, angst and uncertainly immediately after his 2008 election, many Blacks held their breath when it came to his well-being. I guess so many of forgot (or didn't even know about) the Tea Party, "We want our country back!" and the thousands of threats that poured in daily after the Obamas moved into the White House. And I imagine you also neglect to recall the kindness and welcoming sentiment of the Bush Twins toward Malia and Sasha. Know how Obama triumphed? He built a multi-ethnic political coalition. It was not all Black. Obama recognized he could not with Black votes alone. The same with Sen. Raphael Warnock in Georgia. He appealed to all constituencies and Asians went for Warnock in a big way, according to exit polls. This is why I ignore those on this forum who call themselves "writers" but cannot author a coherent paragraph. They are often mistaken on their claims about history or how Slavery ended. Some act as if we Blacks alone triumphed over Southern Racists. Bull. The Union Army, thousands of Abolitionists and scores of sympathizers, including Britain's Royal Navy, Mexicans, Native Americans and some Canadians all aided our struggle. Often for years and if caught, were punished severely. As a reporter, I was tasked with interviewing the late C. Everett Koop, at the time, the U.S. Surgeon General under Ronald Reagan. Koop's grandfather was part of the Underground Railroad. He spent time rowing escaped Slaves who made their way North into Staten Island across the Narrows into Brooklyn. I betcha ya'll didn't know that chit. Just one example of how some sympathetic Whites helped us. This does not mean Blacks did not achieve anything. We have a bevy of inventors, explorers and luminaries in art, science and literature. But when it comes to politics, the only way forward for Black America is through political coalition, alliances and cooperation. The Obama Coalition comprised African-Americans, Latinos, women, independents, millennials and those with a college education. Obama recognized coalitions work and win. Why can't you?
  20. When Umar Johnson builds his boys school, he can be listened to once again. He's nothing but a loud mouthed fraud who took money from good hearted people.
  21. I honestly do not know what happened to Shanquella. But her friends must either have direct knowledge or pertinent information. I do not want to speculate. But @Chevdoveis right. Her "friends" need to interviewed by hard nosed detectives.
  22. @Pioneer1 Blacks will never be able to unite unless we get our thinking straight. You demand Blacks need to leave California because Latinos have the numbers in Southern California. Which eliminates any chance of Blacks having a major voice in U.S. presidential elections for the future. If you are not a resident of California, then you cannot vote there. Which lessens the chance of Democrats winning the state's electoral votes. That is not a strategy. That is surrender. And all because you are still pissed off about a citation you received for jaywalking years ago. You also claimed that Haiti needs to return to pre-Christian traditional African beliefs. On what basis? Because YOU think so? The only way to quell the horrible gang violence in Haiti is a military intervention and the country in the best position to accomplish this is the United States. Calling on spurious spirits will not help at all. It sounds as if you don't know a lot about Haiti's 20th Century history or even what led to it which is the Monroe Doctrine and chicanery and skullduggery by vile U.S. politicians and their Black turncoat lackeys. I also recall you demanding a group of Blacks take revenge on the Buffalo, N.Y., Tops Supermarket shooter by traveling there and killing him. The only problem was the dude was already in custody and just as I predicted, is not going to see the light of freedom for the rest of his natural life. At times, you pop off with weird shit that is always based on your ego.
  23. According to some sources, she did win some money. But the guy who apparently stonewalled her had friends and they badmouthed her. She kept singing and was thought to be trying to make a comeback. But the Covid 19 pandemic kept her fearful and she stayed by herself. She avoided dating anyone following her divorce from her stuntman husband. Again, this is according to published gossip pieces.
  24. Chevdove is right. Trump would have done nothing to free Britney and I don't believe he would have done much to get Paul Whelan home either. How Republicans are reacting: The rage of Republicans over Britney's release is unbelievable
