  1. Not to further derail the thread but yeah, that outfit looks like it came from Lane or The Avenue or Catherine's or Wally World (Walmart). The outfit doesn't take anything away from her message. She was on point there. I just would have dressed her differently.
  2. Yeah. I think his barber should be investigated as an accessory for aiding and abetting a psychopath. Do not be surprised if the ex-wife gets the book deal and keeps money on his books. Meanwhile, I can see Oprah doing a special with the ex-wife. Her whole audience crying and sh8t because the ex will claim she had no idea she was sleeping with the enemy.
  3. Our past leaders were thrust into that role due to the circumstances. Anesthetizing the civil rights movement gave rise to the spokespersons we see nowadays. I'm sure JB had no idea his protégé would become a civil rights hustler.
  4. Yeah. I'd imagine she dressed herself for that presentation. I have an idea of where she bought that whole get up. Bless her heart.
  5. Not yet. But, he's in the very early phase of a 22.5 year bid. Plenty time for the white supremacists to help him capitalize on his crime. Remember, same folks paid for his legal defense. Gotta get that bread back.
  6. No 7 figure book deal, movie or TV special either.
  7. It's being reported that lower prescription costs have been removed from the bill: https://www.nytimes.com/live/2021/10/28/us/biden-bill-plan That means about18M+ Americans will struggle to pay for their meds. That's awful.
  8. I don't see it as conflation in the case of handing out checks. The US should be able to walk and chew gum at the same time or juggle several balls in the air. They're already doing it on several fronts anyway.. Let's see....if I break into someone's house and get shot in the process but manage to live, should I be able to sue the homeowner for my pain and suffering. I'm not saying the illegal immigrants should not come home, er, here. Just pointing out that trespassers usually don't have rights. D8mn right, the Native Americans should be given back the land that was taken from them and/or compensated (reparations) whichever they prefer. I'm willing to stand in the check cashing line behind them.
  9. In the video, Celeste mentioned that a conversation should be similar to two people playing a game of catch with a ball. Back in the day, a tennis match where the objective is to serve and volley was used to convey the same principle. The point being that neither person can throw/serve/talk and catch/volley/listen at the same time. A conversation should flow the same way. It's rude and impolite to listen with one's mouth.
  10. No. The real question is why is the US quick to pay everyone else it has wronged except the ADOS. I have a table reservation. I'll have broiled shrimp stuffed with crabmeat, a loaded baked potato and broccoli. Hold the compassion and empathy. I'd like a pitcher of your finest Haterade.
  11. it's not a lack of sympathy. I just don't understand how they're going to consider paying someone else when there's an unpaid bill that they refuse to even acknowledge.
  12. I remember reading about that incident when it happened. They didn't let him get killed though.
  13. Yessir. I always read the articles and/or fact check information before I go on a tangent. That's why I wrote to even consider... I realize it is not a done deal. I don't even like the idea of it.
  14. Absolutely. With my time, knowledge and money, I've been helping our people all my life. Despite the fact that I've made it, because I'll never forget where I came from, I give back. That's also why I can pontificate and clown. I see both sides of the issues. I know the struggle is real. I also know some n8gglets are too lazy to do right. Gotta beat them over the head with inspiration and motivation.
  15. Oh d8mn... Let me go trolling a black-owned site with my BS. As we say in the hood...f8ck outta here slim.
  16. As I mentioned above, instead of getting hung up on the percentage or number of people living below the poverty line, we should be able to agree that it's way too many people and discuss ways to solve the problem. It's easy to sit on a stoop and say 27M black folks are sleeping in cars or tent citiies or shacking up with folks they can't stand because they're poor. The questions remain how do we create a cozy condition cuz that's our mission...oops, my bad. I had a Slick Rick moment.
  17. @Troy, it is sad and unfortunate that our own people are often times the worst enemy when it comes to progress. It's not even malice. Just good ole fashioned ignorance. Real or imagined, that Willie Lynch letter is working overtime. This is why it is important to teach our history and pass down culture. Osmosis doesn't solve everything. Some folks aren't going to figure out how to do better. They have to be taught and shown. Keep their heads ringing mayne.
  18. Black-owned businesses have a harder time competing because it is cost prohibitive. It's hard to get most people to pay $20 for an item selling for $5 at XYZ store. Everything ties back to infrastructure and vertical integration which ironically is supply chain. We have to be able to produce goods and services at a cheaper cost in order to make it more attractive to the consumer. That requires strategic partnerships that allow us to get better pricing on raw materials, processing, distribution, etc. Above I mentioned Hispanics having a lock on group economics when it comes to making ends meet. Well, Asians have mastered supply chain economics in producing goods and providing services. That's how they are kicking azz when it comes to producing a lot of sh8t cheaply, dry cleaning, nail salons and food establishments. AfroAmericans need to to pool their resources, buy in bulk, produce goods and sell them at a price point that is both consumer friendly and profitable. It's a tall order but not impossible. We just have to map out a plan and execute it insteading of waiting and relying on Mr. Charlie and his colder ice.
  19. Right. Ties back to the picture you posted of n8gglets sitting around skinning and grinning with the former POTUS. Instead of photo-ops with politicians, AfroAmerican leaders should be all business when it comes to getting reparations.
  20. I just mentioned that piece of trash murderer in another thread. I hope the multimillion settlement helps the families in their healing process. I also hope they use the money for greater good in preventing future tragedies perpetrated by white supremacists.
  21. Hispanic folks have taken over the blue collar labor force. They are doing the work AfroAmericans used to do. America looked very different under the New Deal. It pulled white folks out of the Great Depression. The infrastructure plan the current adminstration is proposing could be a step in the direction of a New Deal. I'm curious to see who will actually benefit from it. An individual cannot afford to live independently on $35K/per year when the median household income in American is $67K. However, two or more people working together making $35K/year each should be able to live above the poverty line. A group of people should be doing everything within their power (knowledge, skills and abilities) to build and support an infrastructure that helps each other. Hispanics are working that program like a well-oiled machine. I see several Hispanic adults with menial jobs and children to raise living under one roof. I remember when AfroAmericans used to do the same thing. In addition to a lack of knowledge and a strong work ethic, some of the biggest impediments to success are excuses, insolence, ignorance and stupidity. IMO, the number one impediment is waiting. A grown azz person cannot afford to wait on someone or something else to pull them up regardless of whether it is an individual, public or private business, federal, state or local government, etc. Again, AfroAmericans have the responsibility of producing an economic environment that pulls our people out of poverty. It's not going happen if we wait .
  22. The power of racism on full display. That's just one example of the type of issue AfroAmerican civil rights and legal folks should be putting on full blast and demanding answers. Local law enforcement treated Dylann Roof to a Burger King meal after he slaughtered those folks in church. I'm willing to bet he has the best security while he's in greater confinement too. He's probably got a book deal as well.
  23. That is correct. Mainly wishful thinking on my part.
  24. The federal government does not observe it as a holiday. At their discretion, a state, local jurisdiction, public or private business, etc., could recognize it as a Hindu holiday and close schools or give employees time off.
  25. To even consider paying for that is beyond ridiculous and another slap in the face of AfroAmericans. Ben Mumble Crump should be making a beeline to the White House to get our gotd8mn reparations.
