Right. We didn't do enough. Late 1980s/early 1990s there was a nouveau-Black Pride movement strarted by the Hip-Hop community. Several groups (X-Clan, Public Enemy, Jungle Brothers, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Common Sense, etc.) were conscious in contrast to the party and gangsta. The Malcolm X movie had dudes wearing X hats. They were wearing Afrocentric mediallions too. TV shows like Cosby, A Different World, Martin and Living Single were pro-Black but showed us in a upwardly mobile light. Black folks on the west coast have been wearing permed and colored hair and colored contacts for several decades. They grew up watching Black folks integrate into the professional world. There's no shortage of non-wealthy Black men procreating outside the race. College campuses and job sites got Black dudes hooking up with snow bunnies. Black men in the military are procreating with non-Black women around the world. That's why Black folks look like the united colors of benetton.🤣 Black men have been mixing it up doing for many decades going all the way back to world wars. Tiger Woods and Naomi Osaka are byproducts of Black men planting seeds in non-Black fertile soil. It was only a matter of time before Black women spread a little sunshine elsewhere. 😎

A lot of people do not celebrate holidays foe different reasons. It's all good. I'm one of those men who loves to eat and cook. A woman will never be able to starve me. In fact, most women don't want any parts of the kitchen once they have eaten whatever I cook.😁 Absolutely. Time spent with family and friends and celebrating folks should happen whenever time permits. Holidays just give folks a date to make plans for their gatherings especially when travel is involved.😎

Well, today is the American holiday where folks gather with family and friends in food, fun and fellowship. Eat, drink and enjoy however you so choose. I know the history behind *holidays* but I do not skip them for the aforementioned reasons. I use holidays as a time to further build and connect with my tribe. Every several years, my birthday happens to fall on Thanksgiving Day. When that happens, I don't have to cook anything for the family dinner. I'll pull up, eat, enjoy my folks and watch football games.😁 Happy Thanksgiving to all.😎

Even in other cultures, the strongest men can have several women. A man with less currency (money, power, respect, etc.) has fewer choices.
