  1. @frankster You are always on point! I totally concur with what you say in regard to physical attractiveness, as do artists and anthropologists -and the objective conclusions drawn from how infants respond to symmetrical faces that embody that "golden triangle". . And, indeed, such things as pimple-free skin and a bright smile should never be underestimated, I grew up in the African American community of a small midwestern town . Everybody knew everybody else and being from a good family who owned their own home and drove a nice car were what counted there. i went to predominately white public schools and we non white kids were all just relegated to the bracket of being "the coloreds". it wasn't until I matriculated at the University of Illinois did I become aware of the difference color made. And it wasn't always an advantage for me, because the darker skinned girls could be very catty, practicing their own form of discrimination. And whether or not you belonged to a sorority was right up there with what made you prime pickins. Among the males, athletes and frat guys with high GPAs were the "babe magnets" . Yes, all of this is "ancient history" but not a whole lot has changed. Again, I agree. Once the plethora of anecdotal subterfuge is dispersed, all that's left are opinions.
  2. @TroyActually this lampoon isn't that different from ABC's "The Bachelorette" a show where one girl is wooed by a slew of guys, each one trying to convince her that he is who she should choose to become her fiancee. She dates and "makes out" with all of them in turn and each week sends home all the ones who don't make the cut. She introduces the finalists to her parents and at the end of the season settles on THE ONE and receives a big engagement ring which will hopefully be paired with a wedding ring later. This show has been around a while and black girls have appeared as the sought-after bachelorette. I doubt if any of them are engineered or are political pawns. The male candidates come in all colors and some of them have even shed tears after being rejected, claiming to be heartbroken This is all escapist entertainment that garners high ratings.
  3. @ProfD Yes, that would seem to be the case. As Delano once quoted: "when the student is ready, the teacher will appear." And, as you have implied, when the teacher has taught, he will disappear. 'Glad you are still around to keep me grounded.
  4. Whatever happened to RODNEY CAMPBELL? He exploded on the scene and bedazzled us with his command of numbers and theories about time and truth, and glimpses into his unusual childhood. Then - he just vanished. He was my oasis. Oh, well. Guess he had better things to do. Good for him.
  5. Another astrological occurrence will be taking place this week end for star gazers. It's time for Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Uranus and Mars to line up near the moon. The fact that astronomers can predict when such phenomena will recur, gives proof that there is order to the universe. Something to ponder...
  6. This takes the cake! What TV networks won't do for ratings. I will probably check out this freak show and end up becoming a regular viewer. All i gotta say is one husband is a companion; 2 - or more husbands are an assembly line and only handy men need apply.
  7. Weather permitting, good northern lights displays could be visible directly overhead in most northern communities. 3-Day Forecast (Mar 24 to Mar 26) The geomagnetic field is expected to be at unsettled to major storm levels on Mar 25 (24 Mar), active to minor storm levels on Mar 26 (25 Mar) and unsettled to minor storm levels on Mar 27 (26 Mar). The northern lights aka Aurora Borealis are really something to witness on a clear night. Much better viewing when they appear in the summer months.
  8. I couldn't care less how many times you tell me. if you weren't such an idiot you could have figured out by now that what you say amounts to nothing, you sorry ass babbling wanna be.
  9. @Pioneer1 Why don't you stick you head up your funky ass and inhale. Do the board a favor and retire your insufferable ego.
  10. @Pioneer1 Yet another example of how stupid and out of touch with reality you are. Everything you said is a figment of your warped imagination. inasmuch as i don't have a porch and my mail goes to my post office box. Thank goodness you don't live in Illinois or you'd be stalking me. Seek attention elsewhere, Goofball.
  11. @ProfD Where are you getting your info about older women? From anecdotal old wives tales? Certainly not from Gynecologists. Unlike pioneer, you don't usually make "off-the-top-of-your-head" claims. First of all, how age affects their sex lives differs from woman to woman. Not all females age the same. Their genes and metabolism and hormones and health have a big impact on their libido. And for those so inclined, there are over the counter preparations available to rejuvenate their sex appeal and facilitate intimate contact. Age really is just a number. As rich as Cher is, she could afford the plastic surgery that would make her as good as new "down there". Plus, this isn't the first boy toy she has had. So don't cast her as a "has-been". I find it typical that men can speak with such authority about something they have never tried. They shouldn't be so quick to judge and ridicule and underestimate the ability of an older woman to turn a young guy on. They'd do well to keep in mind that females can look up much longer than males can look down. Sex is no longer an activity I have any interest in because - men tend to get on my nerves, not because i'm "incapacitated". Believe it or not. I'm trying to fall in love with Jesus but he's playin hard to get. Woe is me. @Chevdove Right!
  12. This is what Frantz Fanon, a much-quoted psychologist popular among 1960 militants, defined as cognitive dissonance. it's a mental state akin to possession, a mind-set where your whole world would collapse if your beliefs are relinquished. So denial takes over.. This does not bode well for the future of America. It won't be weapons and technology that bring about an implosion. It will be what is at the root of every Empire's downfall; a clash of entrenched beliefs.
  13. Where's my girl, Mel? I would certainly be interested in hearing her take on this subject - if she can manage to plow through the opinionated swill of the viagra brigade passing judgment on what they have presumably never experienced, clueless about the female snickering that male boobs and testicles swinging below their knees, and penises that require women to fake orgasms, brings on. Watta ya think, Chevdov? Because her brain is actually the female's sex organ, older women who date young men are really lowering their standards, catering to their baser instincts. And why the obnoxious, nauseating pioneer continues to fantasize about me is yet another indication of how removed he is from reality.
  14. @Troy In the 10 years since i posted what I said, i wouldn't change one word it. i'm consistent in my my cynicism. Me, a 100 years old? I'd probably be right in step with how weird the world will have become.
  15. @thewolfxxNobody owes you any explanations, especially since you wouldn't accept them because you are so deeply afflicted with the cognitive dissonance that is exacerbated by the Dunning Kruger syndrome which has you in its grip, and identifies you as a neurotic fool. You probably finished near the bottom of the class when you attended the troll academy. Watta waste of humanity you and your cohorts are. Were your parents related?
  16. Come on. Cher may still be "viable". A lot depends upon whether or not your ovaries are still producing estrogen. Nowadays 70 is the new 50. i really don't like to discuss my personal life but - as a widow in my 70s, i had a boyfriend in his 60s - and i never got any complaints. He's dead now and i'm still kickin'.
  17. Black folks should not allow themselves to be put on the defensive and subjected to specious arguments where their opponents set the standards and make the rules. Screw IQ scores which can't predict how any given person would respond at any given time to any given situation. Even with the leg up of privilege and entitlement, whites cannot best African Americans when it comes to surviving and even thriving under adverse conditions. I'm sure these nit picking trolls are INCEL members. They are so full of hate because they are frustrated losers who women are repulsed by.
  18. @DelanoHey, Guy. We haven't engaged in a while. Today's the Vernal Equinox . So naturally i thought about you. What do you see in the journey ahead as we go toward the light? i was in a valley but suddenly I've peaked and gotten a second wind, and have lately been seeing some interesting number combinations. Plus. the 3 AM bewitching hour has really been ushering in some weird phenomena, providing me with fascinating things to ponder...
  19. @SpeakHerTruthOh pulleeze. Blindly defending and agreeing with everything that people who look like you do is silly. Self love is not about obstinance, it's about pragmatism. And anybody who demands that the world accepts them exactly as they are, is in for a rude awkaening. Self improvement can take a person far in this world.
  20. @SpeakHerTruth Your response is pretty much what I expected, all of which leaves us with no choice but to agree to disagree about everything. This seems to be the best way for grown-ups to deal with sleep-deprived - oops, I mean "woke" Millennials. You're talking about Sasheen Littlefeather, who just recently died. She was the Native American woman who Marlon Brando hired to accept his best supporting Oscar for "The GodFather", a gesture which allowed her to call attention to the mistreatment of her people in a speech. John Wayne, who you may have heard of, lol, was the actor who had to be restrained back stage off camera. Guess he was offended because he shot up so many "Injuns" in his movies. I remember watching that show back in the 1970s. On another occasion Jane Fonda was booed when she accepted her best actress Oscar because she was an activist against the Viet Nam war. I'm glad your screen name referred to you being a purveyor of YOUR truth because you will soon find out that on this board, what one person considers the "truth" another regards as "delusion". Your prediction about Chris Rock, who is overwhelmingly acknowledged as being among the great satirists of his time, is ludicrous.
  21. I don't think it's mutually exclusive. @SpeakHerTruth Thinking for yourself and looking out for #1 is hardly an example of self- hate.
  22. I'm pretty sure I know my biases when it comes to race, colorism, physical appearance, homosexuality, religion, Liberals, Conservatives, men, other women, retarded and handicapped people, political correctness, rape, and other people's children. As I said, I'm hyper critical and keep my true feelings about such things to myself. Other wise i would get my ass kicked on a regular basis and - have no friends!
  23. This is my preferred definition: Racism is not bigotry nor bias nor prejudice. It's when one group has the power to institutionalize and enforce bigotry, racial bias or racial prejudice. Black folks can practice bigotry, bias or prejudice against others but they don't have the power to make these slurs public policy.
  24. @SpeakHerTruth Not surprising, i don't agree with what you insist "changes things". Jada is at the heart of this controversy by virtue of being the motivation for her long-suffering husband's attempt to impress her with his pseudo display of manhood, and she has forfeited her right to be respected by making no secret of and showing no shame for sleeping with her son's good friend. And since she flaunts what is achieved by shaving her head, as opposed to suffering from the actual baldness that occurs in serious cases of alopecia, any claim to her being a sympathetic figure is bogus, particularly since the character Chris Rock compared her to was a heroic one. To me and a whole lot of other Blacks, maintaining his self control and making the decision to quell a bad situation was admirable of Chris - who could possible have taken on the "David" role to Will's "Goliath" persona inasmuch as he grew up in the hood. Moreover, deciding to keep his thoughts about the situation to himself was not only a profitable move on Chris' part, but a wise one because, unlike Will, he exhibited impulse control in order to collect his thoughts. I don't expect to change your mind about any of this, but in stating my opposing stance, i would also argue that the last person to whom all of this really matters is the detached, self-absorbed Jada who has always treated Will like a door mat and couldn't care less what people think. You give the impression of being more indignant than she does. LOL I would further disagree that nothing worse than this incident wherein violent physical contact was made before one participant yelled the f-word at the other, has ever happened at the Oscars which I have been watching for over 50 years! Finally, Kudos to Chris Rock's end game. He made a bunch of money and a legion of new fans. More power to him.
  25. What i take away from your list are the reasons there will never be black unity. There is no Collective Consciousness among black people. Nor is there any obligation to develop a herd mentality. i would also questions whether your examples are indications of self hate; more like self preservation.
