  1. When you said you used to like Jesse.... Lol..are you talking about Jesse Lee Peterson or Jesse Jackson? Troy I KNEW you were going to bring up the "race" topic as an example. You just refuse to let that go.
  2. Cynique They are not futile. His efforts have changed the dialogue about what the American flag represents and have also brought change in regard to giving NFL players the option of staying in the locker room when the anthem is played. Oh, well if his purpose was to simply change the DIALOGUE then perhaps he indeed WAS successful! But I would think the purpose was (or atleast should be) to change the BEHAVIOR of the police officers involved, and actually STOP the killing. Clearly his "protest" hasn't done that or even made a dent in it.
  3. Perhaps we may need to reconsider our definitions of "abuse". Abuse is literally AB-USE or misusing someone from their original intended purpose. Perhaps one of the problems we have in our community is attempting to take on Caucasian values and standards, we are calling that which is natural for human men to behave..."abuse".....and treating it as such when it's actually normal harmonious behavior. Now, raping and assaulting people outside of personal defense is CLEARLY abuse. But we should understand that most NORMAL men are very sexual as well as mildly aggressive that nature has designed it this way. Society may try to "breed" (sorry Troy....lol) this out of men in the name of "civilizing" them, but nature put hyper-sexuality and aggression in men for a good reason. So we can't look at all men who want sex and act in a dominant manner as "abusive" simply because modern society has taught this. For example, for years when I go out with women I make it a point to tell them what they CAN'T wear when they're out with me! I don't physically force them into what to wear, but I make it clear that if they wear the wrong thing....they ain't going anywhere we ME. They'll have to go by themselves or find someone else. Now some people may call that controlling, or even abusive.....but I still do it because I feel as a man who is incharge of defending this woman if she gets in trouble that I BETTER have some say-so over what she's wearing so as not to invite trouble. Chev You brought up a good point about the "dumb blonde" scenario. The thing I've noticed about Whie women is that most of them seem to have NO PROBLEM playing the game to get what they want out of a man, even it it means debasing and degrading themselves to inflate the ego of their mate. They'll play stupid, helpless, confused, ect....because they know that this will make White men feel stronger and smarter and just better about themselves. I'd be lying if I didn't say that in some ways this IS a little more attractive than for a woman to go the opposite way and act more hostile, defensive, and independant than she really is which tends to make the men in her life feel less needed and in many cases stupid and worthless. It may not seem fair that a stupid and weak woman would be seen as more attractive than a strong confident one, but opposites attract and if a man's nature is strength then he seeks the OPPOSITE of that to compliment himself. Del There are women that feel pressure to give a guy some of her takes her out for dinner. Then other women will go to dinner with a man they don't like for a free meal. There are women that will split the bill. And some that will pay either because they invited you or that's their thing. I used to hang out in New York night life. And I saw a few kept men and women both straight and homosexual. It appeared that the younger person was generally better looking more fit. That's a projection because it could be the younger person could have the money. I felt as though . you both got what the wanted or needed. And you know what? I don't have a problem with a woman who DOES go out and have sex with a man for a free meal OR a man who sleeps with a woman he doesn't find attractive simply for a place to stay. As long as they have the freedom to do so or resist, let people do what they do as long as they are getting what they want and/or need.
  4. Cynique Making up stuff does not do not constitute humor because it contains no element of the truth. Look! I'm not the one who came on this site bragging about having a 72 (at the time but probably 73 now) year old hot handsome stud-muffin' who could rock my world.....YOU ARE, lol. So what do you mean "no element of truth"???? If you don't have one why did you CLAIM to have one????
  5. Troy I think I know Florida better than more Floridians. I been to every corner of the state from Panama City to Dry Tortugus. I've lived in Tampa and West Palm Beach I recruited students at FAMU and done volunteer work in Okeechobee. I've swam in every major beach, visited most of the Black-owned bookstores, vacation in Orlando, Miami, Jacksonville, Sanibel and Captiva, I've ridden an airboat in the everglades, fished on both coasts, etc etc. But this is after more than 30 years of experience. I can learn about all of this and more in a few good books in a san of a few months. Lol, you sound like one HECK of a brother! Bottom line, you can not know a place simple by visiting. You really need to do both. If you visit a place and believe you know it without reading about it, I think you will simply be under-informed. @Pioneer1 you make a good point regarding eyewitness testimony. I think we put too much weight our personal experiences in terms of what we believe to be true. We simply can't experience more than we can read in a book. Thank you. Eyewitness testimony is notorious because of the often distorted thinking process of individuals and this can be translated into the material you read about other place. I agree with you that BOTH reading and visiting a place is ideal. But my point was if we had to compare one with the other, in MOST cases visiting and seeing for yourself is better because you can take in more detail. Now on the other hand, in some cases where there is serious danger involved, reading about the place is better. President Roosevelt didn't have to visit Japan to learn how to best defeat them in WWII, everything he needed to know he could READ about from others in his briefings and make the best decisions from there. Mel Just like in journalism/and or researching a dissertation: First /Primary source: Presence, Eyewitness; oral history interviewing those who experience it; newspapers; periodicals- Secondary source: Print Published academic books I'm suprised that they consider "oral history interviews" a primary source of information. To me, "primary" or "first hand" means YOU YOURSELF have witnessed or experienced an event. Chev Absolutely!--although that would be a crude definition of a much bigger picture, in that these giants were "fallen angels", however, part of their genetics reveal that they do not come from 'the modern mankind'--Homonids. Their presence, based on my understanding of research into Genetics, come from intermixing, however it was a specific kind of 'Selective Breeding' that led to their presence. Interesting...... Can you go into a little more detail about what you mean as far as selective breeding or giants? Even as a kid I would wonder IF angels were spirits or spiritual entities from another realm, how would they be able to have any type of sexual act with human beings in the physical much less reproduce with them.
  6. After reading what you all have said, it now makes more and more sense why Twitter HAS NOT banned racist right wingers like Alex Jones despite his clearly racist activity. I don't believe Trump's approval rating is at 45% any more than I believe the economy is "improving". I think BOTH of these concepts constantly promoted in the media lately are lies and this is one of the reasons I've argued on here that we shouldn't put too much emphasis on "stats" and other figures and numbers that you snatch off of some site or out of some book as if it's the absolute truth. These numbers and figures people keep quoting is 2nd hand information at best and probably 20th or 30th hand information that has been passed down and bounced around in various circles but probably started off as a lie. AfroAmericans need to get into a habit of attaining DIRECT knowledge that has been verified either by themselves or someone known to be trustworthy AND simple don't accept information that hasn't been. For example..... If someone comes to you and says Black males are responsible for 55% of the homicides in America and quote FBI statisics....simply don't accept it. You don't have to call it a lie (because we don't know it's false either)...simply don't accept it and TELL people: "Until I or someone I trust can verify this I will refuse to accept or reject it" ....and move on. But many of our people don't want to do this because they don't want to look stupid or silly infront of White people for rejecting their information. My overall point is we as a people should stop being so lazy and accepting so much information that does't come from us and start seeking the TRUTH for ourselves.
  7. Troy So if Black women want to run around in Blond wigs and call it empowerment fine, but be prepared for our people to see their nappy black hair in ugly and inferior. Excellent! And this was the point I've been basically making. Chev I'm not sure what system will work then. I say we should allow for BOTH polygamy and monogamy as well as celibacy for those who choose. But if you're saying that polygamy wouldn't work and we can clearly SEE that monogamy isn't working in our community.....then the question is what WILL work?
  8. Troy I HOPE you aren't comparing me to Jesse Lee....lol. It's one thing to occasionaly misunderstand where a person is coming from, it's quite another to purposely antagonize others to the point they become speechless and in shock like Jesse does. Are you telling me I've said things that left you breathless and immobile? Chev What Jesse did in that particular interview was MILD compared to his usual performance. Believe it or not he KNOWS how to be intelligent and get along with people when he wants to, he purposely does with the Black people he interviews for contemptuous purposes.
  9. It's tolerated because too many AfroAmericans still refuse to think for themselves. For centuries AfroAmericans have been forced into the Monogamous Nuclear Family structure because the dominant family structure of the Caucasian slave masters and colonizers but CLEARLY this doesn't work for most of us and it has led to failure, disappointement, and down right embarassment. In Africa it's common and the norm for Black men and women....even a Black man with several women...to get married in their teens and STAY married all the way up into their 70s and 80s until one of them dies. But that's because in Africa we still have OUR system and ways of marriage and family structure that has lasted for thousands of years. In the United States and through out Latin America however MOST Black men and women don't even both getting married anymore, and of the ones who do most end up getting separate or divorced. Clearly this system isn't working for us and it's SILLY for people to continue to hold on a system that doesn't work for them. If it works for White people....let them have it. They can walk around holding hands and licking icecream together until old age. But WE need to stop trying to imitate them and do what works for US.
  10. There's nothing "natural" about this modern socio-economic system. Nor did it "evolve".....in my opinion this society has DEvolved into that which is unnatural and perverse.
  11. Troy I actually posted this video with you in mind. I thought you might find it quite interesting given your views on the enormous amount of power and influence both Google and Amazon have over the public and the economy. Personally, I found the entire video interesting so there isn't one or two particular clips to point to. The over all message was that former rapper Willie D (who seems to be far more intelligent than I thought he was when he was rapping) is taking a stand and speaking truth to power with other Black men at his side.
  12. It's funny how you ridicule the idea of White men conspiring as silly and paranoid......while at the same time we have a president being investigated FOR collusion and conspiracy, lol.
  13. Cynique You're focused on his EFFORTS.....I'm focused on his RESULTS or the lack of them. His efforts are admirable as well as his reasons for doing so, but if he's not CHANGING a damn thing....they're futile. And that's my point.
  14. Troy While I don't agree with judging people based upon their looks. I agree more with @Pioneer1's assessment of Bey setting the a eurocentric standard for beauty that does not serve Black people... but I would not be surprised if she were not involved in the decision making for her own look. I'm sure like most celebrities she has "handlers" who are directing her public image and every move both on and off the cameras. Infact, like you infer....I'd be willing to entertain that she probably doesn't mean any harm in her choice of hair style. But ignorance is no excuse nor does it lessen the damage her "brand" is doing to the self esteem of not only most Black girls but also to the sexual preferences to most Black boys. But her "handlers" do.....they understand fully. Which is why they're using HER to push their agenda to maintain White standards of beauty. Cynique if you're going to generalize about why polygamy is innate when it comes to black males, i will observe that not all black women are trying to look like Beyonce! It you would bring yourself up to date, you would look around and see that just as many black women are currently using their hair to make a statement, and they wear it in natural styles or opt for natural looking extensions. In fact, most black women alternate their hair choices, because - that's what fashion and glamour are all about. And it's not like African tribal women don't powder their woolly black hair with red henna and other colorful shades. You're mixing apples with collard greens. A man's choice of having multiple lovers is based in biology that is being SUPPRESSED by European cultural standards that were forced on us. This is no comparison to the fact that a Black woman's desire to have blonde hair was MANUFACTURED in her from childhood (not nature or biology) through repetative brainwashing by the images forced upon her in the media and entertainment (e.i...Beyonce). Further..... The tribal women who put henna in their hair are doing it for STRICTLY DECORATIVE purposes with no self-destructive undertones. They were probably doing it before they knew White people existed. On the other hand, Black women in a White society who dye their hair blonde are doing it in part to BE CLOSER TO WHITE in hopes to be seen as more beautiful. Chev I've seen Beyonce's mother Tina and yes she's light skinned with long hair. But her father is a darker Black man with kinky hair. My problem isn't with her STRAIGHT hair so much as it's with her dying her hair BLONDE which is an obvious attemp to associate herself with White standards of beauty. If her hair were just bone straight, perhaps an argument could be made. But once you go BLONDE.....the matter is clear. But speaking of Beyonce's father..... I read somewhere where he ADMITTED that he had a preference for light skinned women. Perhaps this mindset had atleast some effect on Beyonce and the decisions she's made in her life. As far as polygamy. I'm sure a lot of women DON'T like the idea of sharing a man. But if we look at the AfroAmerican community today, I've met many many more women who don't like the idea of being SINGLE and ALONE with no man at all to help them or love them. Infact, many women are actually SHARING men already......but the men are MARRIED and the wives don't know about it. But they're still willing to share him in order to get some love from him and help get her bills paid. Say what we will about the Africans and Muslims, but their system has maintained them for hundreds and thousands of years. AfroAmericans have been attempting to maintain the Western monogamous model for the past 400 years and the family structure has pretty much COLLAPSED for the vast majority.
  15. Chev Michelle Alexander is my girl. She articulately breaks down in her book (The New Jim Crow) exactly how racists have historically CONSPIRED (your favorite word Cynique...lol) to re-enslaved Black people through the criminal justice system. If you're in the mood for entertainment, check out this outrageous interview she did with Jesse Lee Peterson: I call her a REAL lady, a lot of women would have cussed Jesse out after the first 5 minutes. But toward the end Michelle could barely keep her composure with that clown...lol.
  16. I don't promote polygamy just because of it's African origins, although that's an added benefit. I promote it because it's more natural than monogamy for most men and it discourages men from lying to and deceiving women. As far as Beyonce- Her promoting unattainable....and quite frankly GENETICALLY RECESSIVE.....beauty standards to Black girls and ruining their self esteem as well as further brainwashing Black boys to find White women more attractive does FAR more harm than that little money she donates.
  17. Cynique What you and Neely "what's-his-name" seem to be saying is that the white power structure is a cabal of conspirators who have secretly met and decided this is how things will go down - that they will "allow" certain ethnicities priority over black people and share a bigger piece of the pie with them, and "granting" this is really not influenced by their having stronger families and or being better educated, but - just because. Why has this decision been made? What does "Jr" say is the reason for it? Ofcourse the White power structure operated on conspiracy. Do you think so many European nations engaging in the business of slavery and colonialism at the same time and in the same method was just one big coincidence? You don't think powerful White people talk and plan together? I'm not saying good education and strong families don't help with a community's success, I'm saying it's not the MAJOR reason most of these non-Black communities are so successful. The MAJOR reason they're successful is because White people are helping them out by allowing them to come to America and granting them opportunities in business and education. As far as the REASONS behind why they're doing it......... I agree with Neely Fuller Jr, their purpose is to sow division and cause CONFUSION. If I can CONFUSE you about the cause and nature of your problem, I can make sure you don't come up with a proper solution. If racism is the MAIN reason for you lack of success, but I can convince you that broken families and poor education is the reason.....then I can have you focused on family life and education instead of dealing with the real problem of racism and this will keep you in the same unsuccessful condition. It also creates jealousy and division among people as one group looks at the other and their lack of success and assumes it's because they are inferior. A Korean man will look at a Haitian man and assume he's inferior because of his educational and economic conditions without realizing that Korea and Haiti were in the same condition 100 years ago (infact Haiti might have been better off) and if it weren't for White people investing in his country Korea would be in the same condition the Haitian is in or worse.
  18. Most people don't understand that under our system JAIL isn't supposed to be a place of punishment. That's what PRISON is for. Jail is only supposed to be a place of BRIEF confinement until you have your trial and if you are innocent you go free and if found guilty you await your sentencing. But so many people have been filling up the jails that it's caused the system to be backed up and people are having their constitutional rights to a "speedy" trial violated by having to spend such a long time in jail. Not to mention the conditions OF most jails.
  19. This may sound like a harsh thing to say.....even an "absurd" thing to say, lol....but I believe MOST White people are poor because they WANT to be. Let me explain...... White people in America tend to think different than most AfroAmericans. They look at the world differently. They tend to support the establishment and see the traditional way as the "right" way, so they feel that whatever happens in this society is JUSTIFIED....even to their own detriment. Most White people also inherently believe in the "caste" system and believe that if they were born in a poor low class, they should just drink liquor, smoke cigarettes, and work their ass off until they drop dead...and not complain about it because that's their "duty" as members of society. This is how they see life and themselves in it. Obviously not all White people feel this way, but most of the one's I've met do. While a Black person who hates their job will call in every week, do sloppy work, and get around slow .....most White people could hate their boss and hate their job and KNOW they're being exploited and mistreated but still come to work every day and bust their ass and take Red Bull drink and smoke cigarettes so that they can work even harder.....just because they feel it's their duty and role in "the system".
  20. Chevdove I think there is some kind of movement going on and certain Black people and others too are being targeted. It's funny you said this, because I said the same thing in another thread just a few minutes ago about AfroAmericans being "targetted". https://aalbc.com/tc/topic/5319-the-absurdity-of-the-truth/ It's not the problem of racism and police brutality that I disagree with Colin over. We both agree that it's a major problem that needs to be solved. It's the SOLUTION (or lack of one coming from him) that I take issue with. First of all, he and many others are wasting too much precious time trying to "call attention" to a problem that most people already knows exist. Both the victims AND the perpetrators know that racism and police brutality exist and have for decades if not centuries...so who's attention is he trying to call? Secondly, whatever type of problem he's seeing down the line or major issue he has privy too that most of us aren't aware of......how is his kneeling on the field going to solve it? Again, his behavior just causes more confusion and leads our people in the wrong direction. We need REAL leadership who will give us a REAL gameplan as to how to solve the problems we face and get positive results.....not window dressing and show boating just to bring attention to a problem everyone already knows exists.
  21. As usual, most of the subjects you like focusing on are nuanced and have obscure meanings.....either that or I'm just not smart enough to figure out what the hell your point is, lol. So I'll just take THIS excerpt and run with it............ Doing what other ethnicities are doing is one thing some blacks think will be a magical solution. Let them tell it, Whites and Asians and Hispanics all do the right things. And they are rewarded for this by being above blacks on society's totem pole. Really? Actually, the more I listen to Neely Fuller Jr and observe what I can readily see going on in this society (as opposed to what's happening behind closed doors) the more I'm beginning to believe that the White power structure that runs America is both ALLOWING and GRANTING these other ethnicities to have success rather than it resulting from their own merit while at the same time attempting to restrict AfroAmerican success. Ofcourse many will point to the fact that so many Asians and other groups have strong families, focus more on education, and work hard.......but this only pays off because White folks allow it. White people in America haven't sought to destroy Asian families, deny them a place in the academic world, give them inferior education, and prevented them decent employment like they've done to AfroAmericans. Most of these same ethnic groups who are so prosperous in the United States are usually found on welfare and in street gangs when the immigrate to Canada or Europe. And ironically BLACK PEOPLE are doing better in Europe and Canada than many of these other groups! People are crying about ICE and the immigration policies of Trump, but in reality they could be FAR more harsh on Latinos if they wanted to be....they're actually holding back. The Latino gangs in California and even Chicago are far more vicious but the Black gangs are being targeted by the media and law enforcement more. With the exception of maybe the Native Americans, AfroAmericans are being "targetted" above all other groups. For what reason, I'm not quite sure.
  22. I'm proud of Lebron for doing this. I've been saying for YEARS that we need to build our own schools and educated our own children. I'm not sure what the demographic is in Akron, but if it benefits AfroAmerican children I support it. I'm just curious as to what the curriculum will be.
  23. I heard about this story a while back on P.O.V. Is the first name correct? It's very sad, but it's only one of MANY examples of how the criminal justice system as well as the mental health system has not only failed the urban AfroAmerican community, but it also shows how short-sighted and selfish so many well to do AfroAmericans are. There are thousands of wealthy, educated, and powerful AfroAmericans in the New York area who could actually DO SOMETHING about the inhumane conditions in Rikers and other facilities there, but they refuse to even get involved. They allow these "ethnic" White police officers, lawyers, and corrections officers do whatever the hell they want to do and keep silent.....so I blame them even more.
  24. As long as Beyonce continues to sport blonde weaves, she contributes FAR more to the problem than she does to the solution......in my opinion. Despite the rhetoric coming out of her mouth, her many years of wearing straight BLONDE hair does more to empower WHITE WOMEN and epitomize them as the standard of beauty than anything else.
