Who is Greater, W.E.B. Dubois or Marcus Garvey?
Troy replied to Troy's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
@Pioneer1 I have actually posted things from then, you just haven’t been noticing. Here is the lasted thing I shared was, about their efforts to boycott the good times reboot on Netflix. -
@Chevdove I can see we have a very different senses of humor That video landed with me like joke the comedian told at the Trump rally describing Puerto Rico as a pile of trash ... meh. A joke as to have some level of truth in it to be funny to me. The notion that illegal immigrants are getting so many great benefits and Americans -- especially white women -- are being denied them does not ring true. I guess the woman being pregnant implies that she was denied an abortion ... still not very funny. Certainly, not voting is a problem.

"But We're Not Into Black Guys": Observation On Sexual Racism
Troy replied to Pioneer1's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
I'm not so sure about that. You should probably make a distinction between have sex and making babies and getting married. I only have a few diverse friend groups none are actually anchored by white people. I have never though about those friend group in this way before but those anchors are people i really admire... -

I had forgotten about this; this is what I've been trying to assert about you recently Del, but I see you already knew. -

What is the ethnicity of these two people?
Troy replied to tipsyturv's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
Hard to tell from the pictures, but possibly. -
Man, I’m sorry to hear that that must’ve been rough. No, I don’t need facts or any of that. I’ll just take your word for everything ha ha!

You should’ve used that magic to work on time Again, I don’t think you needed the number. If I was to push and play, devil’s advocate a bit, what are the odds that any random teenager has plans to go visit their grandparents at any given time?

… half the Black people in this country are fine with our dysfunction too @ProfD. I was in a black club over the weekend. I don’t think it’s black owned but almost all the workers and all the patrons were black. They played a song by VickeeLo called called Sit on Dat I never heard this song before (I found it using ann app) But all the women went crazy and started Twerking. A few Sistas had very attractive bodies and were dressed provocatively, so it was hard for me not too stare. A buddy, I was with and I pondered whether the girls which try to attract the attention of the brothers present. He thought they were. I didn’t. I mean if I approached one and said “would you like to dance?” I would’ve felt like I was interrupting them. I’m not exactly a homebody, but this was a new experience for me. I had a good time though

White dysfunction might not be in his feed, it is not in mine. Apparently, the Hawk Tuah Girl went viral online. it never showed up in my feed. I only know about it because it was referenced on a late nigh talk show and I had no idea what it was... I'm assuming the chick is white, as this is their stereotype. I'm am getting P. Diddy Freak-Off content nonstop Black dysfunction riles pioneer up, so it makes sense that he would be shown much more black dysfunction than white dysfunction -- even thought white dysfunction is far more plentiful online.

I keep telling you man, your observations are just anecdotes. I believe as profd suggested the reason has to do with class, that is education and financial resources drives maturity — not what you call “race.” Do they? Ever watch Jerry Springer? Hillbilly Elegy, a book rife with white dysfunction, has been on a New York Times bestsellers list for a couple of years. Why do you think Donald Trump is so popular? America is obsessed with dysfunction. There are entire media platforms dedicated to showcasing dysfunction — black and white. Social media algorithms optimized to push other peoples dysfunction attracts attention. I’m at a loss to explain the energy time and money so many people have put into gossiping about P. Diddy on YouTube. I have to step back and understand it is the algorithm constantly Shoveling all this shit in front of me — otherwise I think our country was insane.

Well @ProfD, he’s a kid compared to me Given his public behavior, where would you put him on the spectrum of adulthood?

What is the ethnicity of these two people?
Troy replied to tipsyturv's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
@tipsyturv one can’t look at someone and determine ethnicity. Ethnicity speaks to language, shared history, culture, and other things that have little to do with what a person looks like. In terms of relationship, father and son, maybe grandfather and daughter? -
Exactly. However, that is not to say the trashy music does not have an adverse impact. Clearly, it reinforces the all the negative stereotypes of Black people.

I don't know nothin' 'bout being gay, but I don't think it works this way. Don;t you think Brothers would buy some pus*y before taking it up the butt or blowing some other dude? @Chevdove It is probably just me, but I find the "Sharing is Caring" videos unappealing, and I watched them all. Indeed, it is much harder -- especially if you've spent your prime adult years working on developing your ability to accessing a buffet of women for sex.

@ProfD I think you are being a little hard on Wiz, or maybe expecting too much from him. I suspect the kid smokes weed on a daily basis like many people do I can easily see where getting arrested while smoking during a performance was not top of mind. Yeah, I've heard this argument too, but being a prosecutor and a politician. What makes matter worse (at least as far as the Brother and Kamala are concerned is that Trump cut us checks and released a lot of Brothers from Federal penitentiaries.

What does this mean?

Of course it is. If the familial wealth is supposed to be passed down to the family and some grifter comes through to take the old man’s wealth away from his descendants, that’s a problem. Now I’m not trying to say that Hobson and Harris are grifters, but they ain’t F’en with no broke Niggaz either. Lol true I was relating the story to my kid last night who is a nurse and a fellow nurse told her the same thing I told her that’s how conspiracy theories start. By the same token, I’m in no position to prove anything. I can only rely on what I’m being told. But I consider the source. And both of mine is basically gossip. It seems to me it would be hard to hide 2000 American deaths from a storm — Surely reputable source would investigate this and cover it.

This places the first responders at risk as they go in to try to save those people. It is starting to become frustrating as I look at people continually rebuilding in the same places that get pummeled by hurricanes every year, twice a year. The argument I keep hearing for this is that “this is my home“ practically speaking that is a pretty weak argument, but it is a emotional one and emotional arguments generally win. Actually, Kamelah is 60 years old today. Happy birthday, Madame Vice President. I dunno maybe, maybe not. Do you draw the line at any age difference 31 years is cool. What about 41 or 51 years? Let’s say it was your senile 90-year-old father and some 30-year-old woman (or man) was talking about they was in love with pops. Surely the attraction is not sexual. You wouldn’t think that they were interested in his pension, his house, and any other material possessions that he might have that they would get when the old man croaked next day?

Kamala Harris was in a relationship with the dude that was 40+ years her Sr. I can’t help it, but that strikes me is kind of wild. The brother was downtown Willie Brown he’s 90 now. Mellody Hobson has a new book out as I was looking up information about her to add to the website. I saw that she was married to A white guy ( George Lucus) that is 30 or more years older than she is. again, people can love who they wanna love it would be like me hooking up with a 90 year old white lady. That would understandably raise eyebrows right? So I’m in a bar and a guy next to me is from Fort Myers. He told me that his firefighter buddy said they ordered 1000 body bags. He said they needed 1000 more. He says more than 2000 people were killed in the hurricane Milton. I did not believe him because the news did not report nearly that late. I asked him why did the news report that many deaths. He says you can’t believe the news. I was like if there were that many deaths they need to report it. that way people would actually leave when they tell him to leave.. I said well maybe they did report those deaths because they don’t want people to leave the state….

Yeah but @Pioneer1 is too young to be thinking that way… I’m a boomer my kids tail end of the millennials and Gen Z have a lot of shit to deal with, shut we handed them. Even if everything pioneer says is true we can help rather than complain about them.

No, I don’t think most Korean will come to the US are racist. You are shoehorning and American on Koreans for no good reason. If Koreans are racist, why do you presume they would only be racist against Black people? Also, there is a bias; people who choose to come to America from Korea probably have some very significant differences than the ones who choose to stay. For example, if you choose to leave your home and culture behind boarding entirely different one, being racist would not be very helpful and surviving in a foreign country. What is helpful is to be highly motivated. So why is that? Do you think it is as part it says due to laziness I think if you thought it through for a minute, you come up with some other reasons.
