I saw a handful of these films and none of them impressed me and most were simply awful. The top grossing films are seemingly made for children. I watched the movie The Conclave the other night it was excellent. It probably will not be a top grossing film, but I'd be surprised if it is not nominated for an Oscar.

The WHO, AHA, or CDC does not issue the report for individuals nor was my question for individuals, so I'll leave it as is, though I don't quite understand why you can answer it. If you mentioned beer or spirits, I could see it, but "Viricide fungicide and bactericide..." Come on man does anyone even drink that stuff. I brought some cheap wine-in-a-box at Costco and every time I drink this particular wine -- no exception it triggers AFib. So I stopped drinking it. I'm also considering cutting alcohol out altogether. This would be a major change to my life-style, but not worth having a stoke or heart attack to continue. Today when I look older videos and movies and see people smoking everywhere it just seems crazy. Looking back it is hard to believe we did that to ourselves. I think in the future when we look back at these times seeing people drinking so much we will look just as crazy.

That is a plausible explanation... Starting to sound less plausible more conspiracy theoryish. Look if the American people can deal with learning about 45K dead civilians in Gaza without batting an eye we can handle a few aliens running around. Maybe it will help unify us. 🙂

I was of the same opinion as you guys. Someone recently told me our thinking is antiquated, and that the new science says that no amount of alcohol is good for you. I pushed back saying, with everything there are trade-offs and that the benefits of moderate red wine consumption outweighs any negatives. That sentiment was rejected. They pushed back and cited the World Health Organization (WHO) report. I cited the American Heart Association (AHA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). I conceded that the CDC and AHA may be less biased than WHO due to the influence of government lobbyists. People often say they "do your own research" unless you have a lab, staff, and money, you can't "do you own research." So now I'm not sure what I believe. I guess I'll fund a lab and do my own research 😉 I just added an additional option to the poll, "I dunno."

Yes, who is in charge of this (serious question)? Good also implies wiliness to cooperate with others and supportive of the rules, laws, social norms, and cultural values -- even if you don't always agree with them. You work within the system to change them -- all for the greater good. There will aways be "bad" people who live outside or above the law. Again, if there are too many of these people it is worse for everyone else. The world wide web is very much like this today, it only promises to get worse...

Oh, that ship sailed long ago. True, but striving to be "good" and having that goal as a core value is the only way society with millions of people can function. While those who cheat, lie and steal can get ahead, if it were a core value our society would collapse. We may be reaching a tipping point in the regard.

Right, people pay for an education and which professionals provide that education? Obviously those are the people generating the revenue. The motivation for paying for the education is not relevant.

Dude people like us make Mike rich. How many times have you paid pay-per-view 50 bucks or more to watch Mike Tyson fight on TV. Look at all the people who pack arenas to watch Mike knock somebody out in a couple of minutes. The same as true for football basketball whatever. We will pay $100 for a T-shirt with their teams logo on it. People pay a couple hundred dollars to sit in a shitty seat to watch men play children’s games. Sure, there are endorsement deals, and advertising sales but again if we did not go to the games and watch them on TV, there would be no ads to sell. And I submit to you that Mike Tyson given all the money he’s earned over the years should be wealthy. Why do people pay to go to college?

Aw man you doing a "@Pioneer1" on me and shifting the goal post LOL! You wrote professors "do not generate money for the institution." Now you are talking about relative amount of money they make for their relative employers. But your example illustrates my point: We can pay a guy a billion dollars to play a game, while teachers, many in the college ranks, struggle to make a living. Again, we value the athlete (i.e. entertainer) more than the intellect -- especially when it comes to Black folks. Wealthy/rich you are mincing words. I'd take Mike's money, over mine, any day of the week 😉
