Troy Posted June 24 Report Posted June 24 Relatively speaking this is a mere flash in the pan. Sure, a ton of damage can be done in a short period of time, but I believe America will recover an emerge a stronger, more resilient, and unified nation than ever. That is if AI does not get us first. AI is a more pressing challenge. Optimistically, it will create large swaths of young people who will not want to do the jobs left for them to do. White collar jobs will be greatly diminished. It will be virtually impossible to justify the overpriced liberal arts degrees people are getting at our universities. When this counter ends, we have a pretty good indication if I'm right or wrong... then if course there is climate change. 1
umbrarchist Posted June 24 Report Posted June 24 I selected a deadline for the US military to take him out. That was March 1st 2025. Since they failed they are now guilty of "Dereliction of Duty". So I need a new deadline. I am not sure AmeriKKKa can survive a year of this so I pick Jan 2, 2026. . I don't know how this thing started centering my text. 1
Troy Posted June 25 Author Report Posted June 25 @umbrarchist There was something in my post that caused everything to center. I removed that code.
ProfD Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 POTUS OJ has stirred up more sh8t in 6 months than some administrations manage to do over 4 years. Today, POTUS OJ has become the most colorful after dropping the F-bomb on live TV. The next 3.5 years is a long time to have a road rage driver behind the wheel of his own clown car and heading up a big top circus. The American people will have to hang on to their seats and make sure their insurance policies are paid up.
Troy Posted June 25 Author Report Posted June 25 The civil war lasted 4 years. WWII lasted 6 years. The great depression lasted more than a decade. The institution of chattel slavery lasted 1/4 of a millennium. Four 4 years of Trump.... {yawn} 1

The next critical issue is methane from the tundra not sea level rise. .
umbrarchist Posted June 25 Report Posted June 25 How many times has Trump violated the Constitution that the military swore to defend? Dereliction of Duty! .

The entire world population will turn over at least 8 times over that period of time. Human beings can only shorten their own existence on the planet. Humans cannot destroy the Earth itself. Dinosaurs left the ball 65 million years ago. Hominids have only been around for a few thousand years. Otherwise, the Earth has been taking care of itself for billions of years and it's on schedule for several billion more years. it is noble for human beings to think or believe they *matter* but in the grand scheme of things...we're just a blip on the screen.

I can’t even imagine humanity lasting as long as the dinosaurs did.., if we do last another 200,000 years, I think will likely end up like the humans in the planet of the apes films. 1

Unlike the Trump presidency man-made climate change is not gonna go away by itself. Human stupidity can only make it worse faster and Africa is sitting on the equator. Trump is making things worse in some ways. But his tanking the economy might be good for the environment. They are already talking about reduced airline flights. I know that we cannot destroy the planet. I said "wreck"! I do not know how difficult and uncomfortable we can make things for humans and still survive. We could take the population down to 500,000,000 with no risk of extinction but what shape will the rest of the biosphere be in by then? I do not really give a shit about the existence of the planet if humans are extinct. .

ProfD Posted June 26 Report Posted June 26 10 hours ago, umbrarchist said: Whose screen? Where did you get the concept of "screen"? The Earth as a screen metaphorically. The amount of time a human beings have been on the planet and will remain is a blip in relation to the Earth's existence. Of course, considering themselves to be of some higher order of intelligence and/or importance, human beings would dare not believe they are insignificant to the planet. Look no further than the next natural disaster that wipes out hundreds or thousands of people in a matter of minutes. That is how the Earth takes care of itself.

Every 25,000 years or so major natural disasters are produced to wipe out the vast majority of humanity and it's civilizations so that new ones can start all over again and flourish.

ProfD Posted June 29 Report Posted June 29 https://www.npr.org/2025/06/27/nx-s1-5448863/birthright-citizenship-supreme-court-ruling POTUS OJ won a small victory win SCOTUS ruled federal judges cannot issue injunctions beyond their jurisdiction. Class action lawsuits may have to be filed to protect birthright citizenship against POTUS OJ's executive orders. The whole thing is crazy because the Constitution clearly states that people born on American soil are citizens of that state. We'll see how that pans out over the next 3.5 years too.

I am staying tuned though. However, I am happy that you are not bashing him like others who feel the obvious burn from his administration! You are the head of this community. You've got style! You give others the opportunity to voice their frustrations and heated opinions. Thank you! 1

Yeah, the planet was here long before humans and will almost certainly be here long after we have gone extinct. A relative "blip" on the Earth's biosphere. Humanity is largely responsible for a loss of about 50% of all the biomatter on Earth since in the last century -- that is a pheromonal stat. It seems like every living creature would be better off without the presence of humans. As far as I can tell, we do nothing to benefit the plaent's ecology. 1

aka Contrarian Posted Saturday at 06:53 AM Report Posted Saturday at 06:53 AM The morning newcast I woke up to yesterday was ablast with the report that a new ICE headquarters has just opened up in the town where I live, which is a western suburb of Chicago. This facility is not near my block but its grounds have quickly filled up with a large loud group of protesters. Nobody saw this coming and the mayor, who is a black woman, has not been heard from. There are a lot of Latinos living around here so we shall see what ensues. And here I thought I was removed from all of this, then suddenly it's right in my back yard. Hope they don't snatch up the Mexican landscapers who keep our grass cut. My first name happens to be Spanish so I'm keeping my ID card handy. Hola! 1
