I almost bought the book, Love Warrior, before I realized that I have no interest in these types of books :-) The video is from a page on Amazon dedicated to this book The page was well designed and I took notes. While I don't have access to an Orpah like pitch person, I'm not sure it matter very much any more. When Oprah's book club was at its peak, the selection for her book club was an eagerly anticipated event followed by a boatload of media attention. Today, not so much attention is paid the selection. In fact, I discovered this by accident: Another website was interested in me replacing the widget on their website, with an AALBC.com widget. Their widg…

The Plot Twist: E-Book Sales Slip, and Print Is Far From Dead By ALEXANDRA ALTERSEPT. 22, 2015 Now, there are signs that some e-book adopters are returning to print, or becoming hybrid readers, who juggle devices and paper. E-book sales fell by 10 percent in the first five months of this year, according to the Association of American Publishers, which collects data from nearly 1,200 publishers. Digital books accounted last year for around 20 percent of the market, roughly the same as they did a few years ago.

How many of you knew the story about those brilliant African-American women working at NASA BEFORE seeing the movie “Hidden Figures”? Probably not most. The role ofAfrican-Americans has often been downplayed, overlooked, ignored. My co-author, the late Edna Gail Bush, and I sought to right the wrong by shining a light on African-American residents of Edgefield County, SC. “Until lions become their own historians, every story will glorify the hunter.” The book is available on Amazon as e-book, paperback & hardcover. I recently read a NYTimes article Snobs and Me, by Jennifer Weiner, an impressive critique on the literature review hierarchy and its negative critical analysis of particular works. Her specific complaint is the arrogance of literary reviewers and the dismissive attitude she receives in general and from her Ivy League peers (Princeton) regarding her publications of "chick lit." I have just published my first novel "Other Side" and anxiously brace myself for its review. I proudly write in the "second tier", and am not unfamiliar with that classification as an African-American author. Please consider my book, A Life of Turmoil: The short stories of Ana Franken, 08150017 for review. Released on September 16, 2017 (ISBN 978-1976449000). Ana Franken was a mother and wife, but never a daughter. She lived in a world where abuse and neglect caused her to be permanently saddened. Striving to be noticed in a family where she was considered a ‘nobody’ and forced to do things that no one else in the family wanted to do, was heartbreaking. Even as an adult, Ana struggled to gain her mother’s love but never succeeded. Like a wounded but loyal dog, she kept going back in hopes that just once, her mother would have a desire to see her and show her love.…

I joined others in a national effort to place Victoria Christopher Murray's new novel, Forever an Ex (Touchstone, June 17, 2014), onto the NY Times Best-selling books list. Like opening weekend for a film, the date surrounding a book's publication are very important, specially the week before and the week after are crucial. We are trying to generate as many sales as possible up until Saturday June 21st. The book is available at where book are sold.
