  1. Man I started to listen to the video, which is just audio, and it is 45 minutes long. She did not open up with anything compelling enough to entice me to invest the time to listen to the entire recording. But in a lot of ways I agree with both of you; on the surface the political correctness that seems so important to millennials is really a false front to less honesty, more tribalism, increased filter bubbles and less true communication. Millennials overshare on social media creating a false facade of who they really are, primarily motivated by slick marketers who have addicted these adults on psychometricly timed rewards in the form of likes and shares. The nuances of flirting, genuine complements, or even constructive criticism is lost on these folks who spend their time communicating with each other behind a handheld screen which prevents them from truly knowing each other.
  2. Word is that 2018 will be a strong Capricorn year. There are 4 Planets in that sign right now. Capricorn rules Saturn and it's predicted that this relationship will manifest itself by placing stringent demands on humanity. Whether in one's personal life, one's job, or political leanings, this configuration in the heavens supposedly portends that things are going to get very complicated. So say the astrologers. What say you, Del? Taking everything into consideration, i tend to subscribe to the idea that things will get worse before they get better. Not a far-fetched notion considering the quixotic economy and the polarized populace at home, and the possible repercussions from abroad attributable to the fool hardiness of the inept POTUS. Furthermore, taking into account that right or wrong has no relevance in how reality is played out, i have little faith in Trump being brought to trial for his collusion with the Russians or that an impeachment will be imminent. Especially considering how impotent the floundering Democrats are. The newly-elected senator from Alabama now speaks in conciliatory tones, hoping Democrats and Republicans can compromise for the "good of the country". The typical Democrat stance of taking the high road against a bunch of self-serving low-lifes. Meanwhile, Republican leaders are falling under the sway of Trump. As luck would have it, like other scoundrels, his teflon surface prevents charges against him from sticking. Or is any clear leadership emerging from the ranks of the Democrats except for played-out old men, and wanna-be candidates of the female variety, still handicapped by their gender. A 2020 defeat of Trump is dependent on his leadership resulting in disaster. But he seems to be successfully settling in, converting his party leaders with his bluster and hyperbole, impressing them as he bumbles along, never falling off the edge. If he gets better at this, as an incumbent president, he may be re-elected. Also, there could be many independent voters who might like his tough talk and bold misguided threats to the rest of the world. The incidents of domestic terrorism at the hands of Muslims converted to the cause of Isis certainly don't inspire a lot of opposition to his restrictions against the Islamic community. Whatever. The earth will continue to orbit the sun, and revolve on its axis, and the good guys will be indistinguishable from the bad guys while the masses will be sandwiched in between. Black folks? They, as usual, will be plagued by their perennial problems as pundits persist in articulating them, offering no viable solutions. And so it goes. What will be an encouraging surprise is if my pessimism is unwarranted! I can't believe we're of the brink of 2018. Seems like just yesterday when the new century turned. Tempus fugit. Yesterdays are like blinks of the eye, and time is fleeting. As Eleanor Roosevelt once said, "Today is a gift. That's why it's call the present". Taking things one day at a time is the best option for a world-weary mortal like me. Ho Hum. See ya next year (?)
  3. Wait, what?! First @Delano and @Pioneer1 engage in an online bromance, and now Pioneer and Cynique are showing signs of being converging to the same wavelength. 2018 does look like it will be an interesting year!
  4. I have a feeling many celebrate Kwanzaa but since it's not commercialized we don't hear a lot. For that reason alone I celebrate it by honoring it with my thoughts and words. I did a separate blog post for each day of Kwanzaa. It put me in a positive community-focused frame of mind to start off the year. I did the original post on my melhopkins.com website but I also copied and paste everything to theleadstory.org. Imani: Golden Rule Kuumba : The Chosen Ones Nia: Reasons Ujamaa: Until the Lion Learns Ujima: Yes We Can Kujichagulia Goal Minds build Gold Mines Umoja No Man's Land
  5. Pioneer your fixation on the artificial construct of race and the associated misguided stereotypes create a bias in your reasoning. Obviously Black people in America, indeed all over the world, are influenced by western (white) culture. But that does not have anything to do with rates of homosexulaity occuring in the population. It does however influence our collect condemnation of homosexuals through, I suspect, our brand of Christianity. As Cynique indicated, science is showing people are born this way. It will however take time a long time for homosexulaity to become more universally accepted, probably as long as it will take people to dispense with racial-driven stereotypes.
  6. Ok I get 1400 visitors per month on my theleadstory.org and 10,000 visits per month Two searches that are mentioned on semrush - is from the writers events from aalbc and prnewswire... a lot of my blacklinks (see what I did there lol) are from aalbc.com - there's more information relating to aalbc.com and personally I do my best to press the aalbc newsletters each month . I had to move the writers event widget to a separate page because I changed my theme...it's now in MOB News Here's what's weird, I don't even pay a lot of attention to that site but I will from now on. I'm not sure why I get that amount of traffic. One time, it was do to hacking attempts but the visits and visitors seems to be steady and growing... All this to say. @Troy can I have a widget that says my web site: The LeadStory is a proud member of aalbc.com please... : Also I know that 1400 visitors is a not a lot but I'll take it and grow it...
  7. @Pioneer1How do you know a white male saying the same thing to a young white woman wouldn't have elicited the same response as you did? And you continue to underestimate the intelligence and instincts of black women. They are no more influenced by white women, than white women are by them. These fragile "me too" white women are now emulating strong sistas most of whom have learned how to deal with men who proposition them, something they've been doing for centuries. All women are a part of a current culture which is becoming increasingly cynical about the inappropriate behavior of horny males. The girl in question is of the humorless Millennial generation and these types are "politically correct" to the extreme. What might've offended her was your insinuation about "straightness" and "blackness" which is a "no-no" to the Millennial mindset of inclusiveness and tolerance. This is why many stand-up comedians won't appear on college campuses anymore, because the audiences there are too easily offended about subjects comedians have traditionally made jokes out of.
  8. Capricorn is also about the rules. So your take on it is flawless. However Mueller is going to clean house. Trump hasn't threatened him but the republicans may go after him. However even if he is fired the investigation won't go away. I think that Trump's finances will be the center of the investigation and the impeachment proceedings won't go far. I think he will either be out or on his way out by March 3, 2018. Time will tell.

  10. @TSegal, I'm not sure how I missed this post. I just created an account and have uploaded a video: http://www.afroblock.com/social/user/aalbc I have also added this to the list of Black owned websites that I track: https://aalbc.com/top_black_websites/top_black_sites_list.php#Afro+Block
  11. @TSegal, those are some views you got there, brother! However, this mess goes a lot deeper than most people realize. For the sake of this discussion let’s say that instead of 400+ years for European White folks to get it together; they had over 1000+ years of planning. I must use caution here as all I say must be accurate, though ever so unpopular. Allegations of ‘anti-semitism’ holds must greater penalties than violations of civil rights. Here we go! Since before the Roman empire was established, Jews who separated from other European Whites were prosecuted by virtually every society on earth, they got tired and got smart. Really evil smart. More than 1000+ years developing the theory of ‘double entry (modern-day accounting); 1000+ years studying (sizing-up their enemies) habits, likes and dislikes; 1000+ years stealing (plagiarizing) ideas, philosophies, science, ways of ruling a nation, and medicine from Black Africa (there were more than 2000 Black/Muslim universities in Africa) while infiltrating the very government they were subject to. Gaining trust, even marrying into families of their taskmasters. How astute would that group be after 1000+ years trial and error, and what would they do to the people who looked down upon them? Yes, it has always been White on White crime before the phrase was invented. Never forget for one moment, or underestimate the resolve of greed and power, and how even innocent children are fair game in the name of maintaining that power and feeding that greed. NO! No sir, White folks are not hypocrites, they not fools; they have always practiced what they preach. What they preach are all lies, contrary to the theologian riddled metaphor “mixing lies with the truth.” They always lie and cause us to think it’s the truth. I’ll prove it to you, right here and now! How often do we hear Blacks (you and me) asset that we are entitled to the same rights as White folks? What are those rights, I might ask? Freedom of life liberty and pursuit of happiness. Freedom for White folks is ethnocentric related (right to marginalize anyone different from them), kill whoever they want whenever they want and; freedom to follow the hegemony, their own. SORRY, but I am not entitled to, nor want that kind of freedom. Happiness for White is living perversely. I don’t to be a pervert. Just look at the most basic insignificant ways of living in modern society today, from the substance to subsistence, from what is acceptable to what is looked down upon. What rules and social values would you ordain right and wrong? All on the one hand. On the other hand, it does cause one to think (again), and reconsider principles of theology, all of them, excluding none. You’re on the right track, brother, keep up the question asking!!
