IMO, I think that if the individual can cause a collective group to embrace a concept, then, yes, that group is dependent upon that individual leader of that concept and can lead to power over others. However, some individuals may have money and strong beliefs, but may not be able to sway a group to conform to that belief and practice it or force their beliefs on others whether in a positive or negative way.

Mzuri, you really should learn to understand that this is a DISCUSSION forum. And when I first signed up here, the topics ranged from Black and African History, Numerology, Religion, (both pro and con), national and world economics and some politics. But because Barack Obama was in the White House, there was not such heated back and forth that lasted for weeks among the discussion participants. We did not always agree, but there were few nasty and insulting personal attacks. You called my thread harassment. Really? I simply told the truth. And provided links for evidence of my suppositions. Most Black and White writers and bloggers have come to the same conclusion about certain Trump voters and it's this: Most Black Trump backers know full well that Donald Trump really does not like Black people. He never has. Trump has a 50-year history of disparaging Black people and I posted links from two different news source that prove this. Now, to get around these legitimate facts, these writers strongly suggest that Black Trump supporters resort to playing ignorant of Trump's worst verbal outrages. And that many prefer to highlight real or imaged verbal faux pas made by folks on the Left. As if that is going to magically erase Trump's racist words, deeds and behavior. So, for the record, I was not harassing anyone. I was simply doing what normal people do in any news or discussion forum. I offered a topic for discussion on a matter I had thought about for a long time, but only posted after garnering proof of what I was going to say.

I tend to agree. From my viewpoint though, it's the general manager role that is the real power nexus between the player level and executive leadership. Remember, a coach stands on the sideline, but general managers sit in the skybox.

Well, we know @Mzuri will not be answering phones at the suicide prevention hotline.🤣 Almost 40 years ago, I knew a guy who committed suicide at 16 years old. He was successful on his 2nd attempt. While he seemed to have everything a teenager could want materially, he could never seem to find joy and happiness. Until we truly remove any stigma related to mental illness and learn how to deal with it effectively, people will continue to self-medicate and/or take matters into their own hands to end their pain and suffering. It's not for any of us to judge or minimize how another person feels and/or deals with their problems real or imagined. If empathy is a stretch, we should be compassionate. It doesn't cost too much. 😎

Right now, every non-white individual and the entire population of non-white people (group) are pawns in the system of white supremacy. Only if/when non-white people organize collectively to dismantle the system of white supremacy will they have exercised their real power. Oprah is classified as a billionaire. Yet, her perceived "wealth" isn't enriching the lives of millions of black folks. Powerless. OTOH, Jeff Bezos is considered the richest man in the world. His company employs 1.4 million people. The proof is everywhere. Powerful. The collective wealth of non-white people could bankrupt the planet. That's why white supremacists have a ton of guns, strong militaries and nuclear weapons. If non-white people wake up one day deciding they've had enough of the system of white supremacy, rest assured that all h8ll would break loose.😎
