  1. what your are describing are important events, but you are missing my point. Think of it this way @Delano what was the first telephone that you remember? It probably was a wired, rotary dial phone. That technology was in wide spread use a decade before you were born and well into the 70s. The only improvement was the push button phone which was in wide spread use until the late 1980s when cordless phone became available. there were only minor incremental changes to telephone technology for decades. Someone just 30 years old witnessed the change from push button phones to pocket sized super computers! The advances in technology have been profound and unprecedented. Moreso than even the Industrial Revolution. Adaotion to technological change is difficult . Adoration to the rapid changes we are witnessing in recent years is extremely difficult. There was a reason the VCRs of senior citizens were always flashing “12:00” 🙂 Adaotion to social change is difficult . Adoration to the rapid sociological changes we are witnessing in recent years is extremely difficult. Adaptation to rapid social change is probably more difficult. We adapt to social change as people steadfast in their old beliefs die off.
  2. Isn't that the nature of change? The American Revolution The Industrial Revolution Cars Traffic Lights WWII Cloning Program Trading/PC PC George Floyd People sure bought a lot during Covid. Isn't that adaption buying new stuff or finding new ways to buy old stuff.
  3. Control and Restrict "one's (own) deit".....Not anothers Having access to Education and Exercise etc...is the basis of liberty The Israelites are in a Contractual relationship with God....It is a warning that if broken there will be dire consequences The word Translated as Jealous here could and has been interpreted as Zealous in other scriptures....The KJV Translators prefered to use Jealous. It is the First Commandment...No other God - Monotheism Moses said it that way and Jesus said this way Matt 22:37-38 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. It is a threat or warning of intent should One break the agreement.....of No other God No The idea of controlling and Restricting people against their Will....that is dangerous Consensus is Good. Controlling and restricting people who pose no danger is. If it is against her will....then it is oppressive. Those Oppressive Social conditions are often a result of Racism If some desires to kill themselves and there is no sign of mental illness.....Euthanasia(assisted suicide) is not unheard of. It is not you place to force or control them. Yes....it is a judgement call NYC Those Laws were passed to keep people apart......It Failed and they have been struck down - no longer the Law of the Land. True...they did not work. Laws are there to benefit Society as a whole. Exactly. I have and I can. They Past is the best predictor of the Future and we learn most from our past failures Why do you think we have terms like Mulatto, Octoroons and Quadroons.....it is also believe by some historians that as many five of our Presidents before Obama had African Blood...It was not an exception - hence the miscegenation laws Ok...I am saying laws were made to prevent socalled race mixing in the past and it failed then....we had plenty of mixed race people. The way white women are marrying black men today is a real life demonstration of why it failed. We learn from the past....that's why history is taught. Do not use the obvious overlap to confound.. Race, Sex, and Marriage are Primarily Social Issues....It only becomes Political when we try to Legislate around the issues As such nearly all social and economic issues can be politicize Please you said a lot more than that.... I quote: I'm not going to physically stop a Black woman from being with whatever man she chooses. However I have and I WILL make it crystal clear that I DO NOT like the best of our women even having CASUAL conversations with White men let alone getting into relationships with them and having sex and children with them. That's Intimidation I concur No....Just one Movie - Mandingo starring Ken Norton How is it going to be healthy and strong if you are recommending it being controlling and restrictive. It is the Law of God and it is the Nature of the Universe Prisons does not address the causes of crime....It Punishes Criminals. Unjust Laws Creates Criminals By far most human beings are not Murderers....Murderers need Care Why would a human being want to kill? Calling oneself a Christian or Going to Church may not make you a Christian....Obeying God's Commandment is a First step - to being a child Of God or part of His Flock Drug Addicts are not sick? Lack of coping skills or dysfunctional reasoning and or Maladaptive behaviour. Yes..... We have all fell short and it is human to err.....Forgiveness is for all Pioneer 1 said: Sorry my man...... But as THIS point, I can't even say racism is the biggest problem our community faces. I would have to say STUPIDITY is Most other men CARE and want to CONTROL everything of value and worth in their communities, it's almost common sense to them. I care and value all women in my community....I do not treat my women according to the values of other men. Black Women are not 'things' to be control
  4. Every individual is free to decide their definitions on any number of subjects. And While individual definition can effect universal ones., you can in no way expect that your definition become the standard. This is moderated with Icons. In order to communicate there has to be standards. Deviants can still communicate with the norms, it just requires understanding and acceptance. @Troy you in particular and Men in general can define masculinity however you choose. If you want or need women to accept your definition you may run into difficulty. It i easier to change your pool of prospects than to change your ideals. in addition homosexual men may have a different view of Masculinity than Heterosexual men. There are heterosexual women that are attracted to guy men. Just as there are men who fantasize about Nuns. There is a frisson created when the object of your afection is in some way transgressive or contrary to the more, practices and customs for your group.
  5. Ah! @Troy I can see why Prince would rank higher because this comparison can be viewed in more than one way. Prince made himself flashy so in comparison to Idris Elba, I can see why some may have chosen Prince. However, for me, Idris Elba has more sex appeal. And if he should one day choose to straighten his hair, where heavy makeup, and wear flashy, sequenced clothes like a 'rhinestone cowboy', then I would view Idris Elba as having the same amount of sex appeal as Prince. Never heard of this song or seen the video until now. I think this is nice! Lol @richardmurray you're probably right.
  6. @Cynique Were you up on the meaning and distinctions between Womyn and Womxn before I made my post? Were you up on Mxn? (how do you even pronounce these "words?") Cynique, surely you must appreciate that in the last 50 years along with dramatic and rapid changes in technology we have seen similar changes in our culture. The scope of these changes are unprecedented! Prior to that things did not change so rapidly and I think this is what has many boomers to stressed that they would vote for a Trump and use woke as a slur. Think about it, someone could have lived a life time and listened to music on the radio or a record player. Someone who is 40 today would have listened to music on records, cassette tapes, CDs, mp3 players, and now streaming services. This demographic may have been able to adapt more easily than the typical 70-year-old but the constant changes are a source of stress --even for young people. Have a little compassion for us Boomers and GenXers. Some people will never get with the times. The world is changing rapidly and humans are simply not built to adapt this quickly.
  7. I guess it depends upon how much they have been influenced by American culture, which you see through the global Black diaspora. After almost 20 years of reading your often impressive posts, I must say that statement is the first one I could think of that does not make sense. Who else, besides men, should control the subject of the very thing that defines us, masculinity. Obviously, men will disagree on the subject, but we must be the ones to control the narrative and define what is means to be masculine. Now a man running around in high heals, a blouse and mascara. Might be sexy to women but most men would not define that as masculine. Since you are not in the habit of making nonsensical statements I clearly missed something...what was it? Of course Prince was a great musician. Based upon what I'm reading from you @Delano is that if Price were not the gifted artist that he was... in other words if was was an average mope flipping burgers and Denny's he'd lose most of his sex appeal. Once thing that seems to be true is that masculinity has little to do with sex appeal. Through when I was much younger I recall women buying into the notion that they want a little thug in their men. Though during the same time the "pretty boys" -- pulled a lot of women too...
  8. Agreed. Every now and then, the universe sends a gifted person who transcends their generation.😎
  9. I heard a female panelist break down Prince's appeal. He begs from a position of strength. Listen to the end of Beautiful Ones. A coworker told me If I was your girlfriend sounds like an orgasm. The brain is the biggest sex organ. And Prince mines this, with his inversion of perceived sex roles. So he is appealing to the that inner wild woman that wants to break the rules. Maybe he appeals to women because he gets their frequency. I don't think there is a comparison between an actor who was voted sexiest man. And the Man who is without question a musical genius. I am biased being a former fan of pre Diamond and Pearls Prince. He is in that rare category of performer that transcends their Genre: Maya Angelou; Muhammad Ali, Pele Aretha Franklin Richard Pryor Miles Davis. They are Iconic. And so dope that you have to acknowledge their greatness.
  10. Egads! Listen to you Boomers and GenXers fretting and expounding as if you have some relevancy. Puleeze. The Millennials and the GenZers got this! And they are the wave of the future. Your days are numbered. Traditional values mean nothing to these sleepyheads. They are flexible and evolved, have embraced the "do me" approach to life and are making headway as they dare to merge with their true selves. Something they do with a growing measure of authenticity because the species is mutating - expanding. Screw all that BS about the true nature of humans and what "God" intended. Time brings change, depending on the whims of, say, quantum physics and - the impact of highly advanced computerized technology, including Artificial Intelligence. And last but not least a Creator who's lost interest in your welfare. Society is also evolving, fragmenting into the diversity of tribalism. Nowadays all you have to do is find your "Peeps". immerse yourself in their echo chamber and commiserate with your fellow malcontents. Meanwhile, Civilization staggers along being what it has always been about: acquiring power and exerting the control that comes with it, pitting the great unwashed masses against themselves, leaving their legions bound together by a common mistrust of their Government. America, in particular, is a sphere of mass confusion compounded by organized chaos bristling with the wanna-be soothsayers pulling their hair and beating their chests, spouting tired old conspiracy theories that disintegrate under the scrutiny of logic and reality. Same ol, same ol. So what else is new? Check ya, later. Maybe.
  11. Actually all of these ills have been greatly reduced especially in America. Compare America of 1823 or even 1923 with 2023. The same improvement is true for the rest of the world. Interracial marriage was once described as the mongrel mixing of the races. It was a against the law in many states. A Black man could be lynched for looking sideways at a white woman. Did white men stop "protecting" their women, or they just grow up. Today black and white people top the list of interracial marriages. This freedom makes the world a better place.
  12. The reason is because he doesn't In 1823 yeah, but in 2023 not so much... No need for me to add anything here @ProfD and @frankster said it all 😉 @Pioneer1 when I review the data shared by Frankster and using your "logic," it would appear it is Black women who should be displaying more jealously. Black men marry white women at twice the rate the Black women marry white men. In fact Black men marrying white women is the second highest rate of "interracial" marriage, only exceeded by white men and Asian women.
