She won and she shut up naysayers such as yourself. Let her appoint her advisers, receive input from those who supported her and those who opposed, formulate a plan and then get to work. The world does not work on your schedule.

Where is Jada Pinkett when you need her?

It is NOT our fight. If you believe in this so damn strongly, then you sign up as a volunteer and go fight the Russians. Don't drag celebrities with you! You're just a warmonger. Go yourself. -
Happy thanksgiving 🦃. Herschel Must Win
Stefan replied to daniellegfny's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
daniellegfny believes if we return the oaf Trump to the White House and bestow magic dictatorial powers to him, the world will be happy place. Hate will fade away and everyone will be rich. I'm sure Santa agrees. -

@Pioneer1 I'll check back in when you stop responding to individual sentences. Analyses are not written for children. -
@Pioneer1 Pence is not smart. He's a follower and keeps to whatever script is handed to him. And you are ignoring DeSantis. It's the Florida Governor who is the dangerous one. His supporters will openly lie, distort, destabilize and even kill. Look at what they've accomplished in the Sunshine State which was once a Swing State. And what are some Black people doing in the face of all of this? Whining, running away, hoping and wishing that our smartest and most accomplished political candidates fail. Know how the African National Congress defeated Apartheid? By accepting help from anywhere the could get it. From the Soviet Union, from Cuba, from non-aligned nations, millions of student activists, business people, Whiles with a Conscience --- anywhere. What is this called today in politics? Coalition Building. It's how Obama won. Twice.

Why I Had Hoped Our Sister Did NOT Become Mayor Of Los Angeles
Stefan replied to Pioneer1's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
Alliances and coalitions are the key. Obama did not win with Black votes alone. He built an incredible multi-ethnic, multi-religious and multi-cultural coalition. One cannot start a communications company without capital. But you notice, some scream about this - but never offer a detailed blueprint of how to go about it. Those in the TV, radio and cable TV industries who have backing have tried this - and failed. However, this biggest impediment to Black people creating "our own" media remains demented and sellout Black people, who back stupid GOP candidates who continually push for regulations and laws that weaken or eliminate our ability to do this such as this. How to find them? All too easy. Take a quick poll: Who on here backs the numbnut, Herschel Walker? And you'll have your answer. -
Mike Pence is not smart. He is little more than a giant suck-up.

@Pioneer1 Why do you relate current events to things that happened to you long ago? A lot of people had to deal with bullies. So, someone tossed a ball t you and it smacked into your head many, many moons ago. You got a jaywalking citation, so you think all cops in California ain't chit. Numbers of Spanish-speaking folks emigrate to Southern California and your advice to Black people is to run away. Now, you are blaming President Biden for his calm response to a errant missile strike in Eastern Europe. You sound as silly as these White racist warmongers I encounter online. Always ready to send troops to do battle in areas that are not crucial to the Republic's survival. Or to climb into missile silos, grab launch codes to bring about nuclear Armageddon. Since when did you become a Right Wing toady who is forever ready to toss mud at President Biden? Ukraine is not the fight the U.S., NATO or Black people should run their dumb asses into. It never has been. We need to stay out of it. "But what about the children and mothers who will freeze this winter? What about the civilians who were slaughtered?" That is what a good psychologist would call 'misplaced sympathies.' I care more about the shivering and the starving in Africa - not Eastern Europe. Do you think any Republicans care about the suffering in Africa? Republicans don't care about anyone who's starving because it's quite likely their dumb and inhuman policies caused it. -

@ProfD If you notice, nobody's doing anything. It was probably a Ukrainian missile, fired in defense from its own territory whose seeker targeted something in Poland. We may never know. But the responsibility lies with the aggressor nation, Russia. -
I think former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan, a moderate, will certainly test the primary waters of the GOP. But I believe the noise and rancor coming from a real racist such as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis will quickly drown out his calm and reasonable approach. DeSantis hates Black people and aims to render our folks as insignificant in accomplishments, inventions and achievements as lantern flies. Then, there's the butt dumb former POTUS Donald Trump. He will have to find a way to stay in the news and remain politically relevant. Just mouthing off infrequently may not do it for him. Though it would delight his angriest and most vile backers. So, where does that leave former Vice President Mike Pence? In a holding pattern, that's where. It's clear from watching TV interviews that Pence was stunned, dismayed and remains shocked that Trump so blithely put his life in jeopardy during the Jan. 6th insurrection. Pence cannot even bring himself to say the condemnatory words about Trump I am sure he's holding inside his Christian heart. But folks need to pay attention to who's jockeying behind the scenes for the post of GOP running mate. Because it sure looks as if defeated Arizona loudmouth and election denier Kari Lake hopes to be in the running if Trump emerges from the pack. Lake lost her election for Arizona Governor and man, we are so blessed she did. It's still very early. We have many months to go before we have seen the scope of the screw-ups of Elon Musk and new House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. Order your popcorn now.

I never had a problem with police whenever I was in California. And a lone incident may jar me, but never make me write off an entire state or group of people. While too many of us resort to blaming primarily Black men for the ills of Black Americans, this responsibility needs to be apportioned. Because it's incumbent upon all Black men, women and young people to recognize they have obligations and duties regarding the survival and safety of their people. I have no idea why the folks behind Stacey Abrams are steadfastly blaming Black men for her gubernatorial defeat. You cannot run losing candidates a second time without making significant changes to their elective appeal. And none were made on Abrams' behalf. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp was a proven incumbent commodity and basked in a positive approval rating this time around and simply beat her. Kemp led Abrams by five points through most of the campaign. Four years ago, after cheating extensively, Kemp eked out a 1.4% victory. Karen Bass was a NEW candidate. Well known as a Congresswoman, but a NEW challenger for the office of Los Angeles Mayor. This made many pay close attention to her words, her ideas and her promises. Her opponent just had a lot of money, a couple of celebrity supporters and the old "I'm Still a White Guy" vibe. It didn't work for him. Hopefully, that won't work for Trump this time either. -
I am happy she won and is the now the first female Black Mayor of Los Angeles. This shows that while billionaires CAN be defeated, no matter how much money they toss into their campaigns. The fear about earthquakes is the same as always worrying about hurricanes when moving to the Caribbean or Florida. But the concern for racism and anti-Black sentiment from a segment of the Latino population in Los Angeles is real - which is why political coalitions must be formed and sustained. One cannot keep harping back to what happened a more than century ago as some on here do. That will never explain the current political dynamic or lead to path to survive in the future. We need to be focused, stalwart and understand the local issues.

As I said in another post ... Blacks give up too easily. We do not like to stand and fight. Imaging if Dr. King was told to just move out of the South and give up trying to win us The Vote. We've turned into sycophant weenies. Desperate for the next new sneaker, or celebrity who acts out. We dismiss intelligence and real analysis in favor of B.S. nonsense from individuals who don't know shit. Because this happened so many years ago, or is still going to, I am paralyzed with fear. I cannot move forward. Let me run away. Those who oppose us are too strong. Barack Obama didn't think so. But that's the difference. Barack THINKS. How many Black people take classes or time off to re-educate themselves to stay abreast of change in the workplace? But too many of us frown at self-improvement if it means any kind of sacrifice. The stern visage of Harriet Tubman should shame us. You don't think she studied Confederate codes, hand signs and signals? She improved herself. We are intellectual cowards - afraid to face change. Too many of us would rather whine. -
Completely disagree with you. What happened in Los Angeles with Nury Martinez is a nasty wake up call. Latinos have basically outflanked Blacks politically in that city for years. You are looking at this as a boxing match. It's not a straight up comparison of power. It's the potential of forward progress. When White politicians White dominated corporations seek to enhance their reach, they do not jump into the Black Community. They get Spanish-speaking moderators, spokespeople and sales forces. You don't see them wearing African clothing do you? We've been last month's news for a long time. We just have not accepted it yet. We give up too easily and too fast. We're more apt to listen to some fool who attacks the Black Race than anything else. This is what self-hating Blacks do ... they distract us and get us fighting among ourselves. It happens all the friggin' time. We need to keep moving forward and snatching up every advantage and opportunity we can. Not be so quick to dismiss them. The sad thing is that Blacks do not seem to want to change, nor learn new things that will continue elevating them. The U.S. is not an English-speaking country. Anyone who thinks that these days is dreaming and ignoring reality. Never shut yourself off from new money making and business options. Or from enlisting new allies.

PHOENIX (AP) — Democrat Katie Hobbs was elected Arizona governor on Monday, defeating an ally of Donald Trump who falsely claimed the 2020 election was rigged and refused to say she would accept the results of her race this year. Hobbs, who is Arizona’s secretary of state, rose to prominence as a staunch defender of the legitimacy of the last election and warned that her Republican rival, former television news anchor Kari Lake, would be an agent of chaos. Hobbs’ victory adds further evidence that Trump is weighing down his allies in a crucial battleground state as the former president gears up for an announcement of a 2024 presidential run. So, there you have it, folks. All the goofy and illogical clowns who claim Trump won the 2020 election, but was cheated out of victory, have been defeated. Unfortunately, I bet Trump won't go away. Ingrained stupidity and die hard race hatred does not go away.

Elon Musk remains in his heart, a White Supremacist Afrikaaner. Those folks had to be threatened with total annihilation to recognize that freeing Nelson Mandela was the human, decent and so-called Christian thing to do. When Blacks called for a race war of revenge, Mandela was against it. Why anyone thought Elon would be different from his White Supremacist father is beyond me. The use of the N-word skyrocketed on Twitter after Musk took over. -

Russia never wanted to wipe out Ukraine. Putin simply did not want Ukraine to exist as a separate, independent and democratic nation. This war is not over. As long as Putin-think exists, Russia will never tolerate a NATO nation on its border. As if all NATO ammunition, armor and guns are standardized. -

Don't you just love folks who think, gee, just snap your fingers and move to another state? Any election victory for a Black face that is not shoved against Trump's backside is a good for our people. -
Dude, SHUT UP! You're a friggin' idiot. You don't know your hairy azz from a corn on the cob. Your theories are ridiculous, your reasoning laughable and your conclusions head scratching. I've told you many times before ... LEARN TO WRITE.
-
Republithugs love Trump. He makes the racist idiots feel all powerful. Trump's stranglehold on the GOP will always remain strong as long as he stays healthy. But Blacks are missing the boat, the train and the planes ... by not demanding their children learn Spanish. I don't give a darn what so-called Black activists say: Latinos are the future power demographic in this country. Most of the sellouts who adore Republicans are horrible writers and probably even worse public speakers. This is why Barack Obama made them feel inadequate. Not only could they not speak as well as Obama, they certainly could not write like him. They could never draw supporters in the same numbers that Obama did. The jealousy and envy ran supreme among dumb Blacks who dream of power, but find it eludes those without communications talent. You've been on this forum for a long while now. You ever notice the most die-hard Trump fans in these forums cannot express themselves well? They parrot the same B.S. as Trump's most hardened White fans. Trump is great ... let him handle the economy ... people listen to Trump ... put Trump back in charge again. The same garbage with absolutely no proof. Despite all the evidence that Trump was one of the worst chief executives of all time, these fools want to return to power. Because they believe they will be on side of those doing the pummeling. But it's all nonsense. Trump has no ability to govern. It's only that he's White --- and mean. And far too many dumb Black people want to be just like him. Those are his Black supporters. These Black toadies completely forget the times when few could receive a Covid vaccine, any medicine to battle the pandemic and when rich Whites were gleefully running around with billions in government money, calling themselves "the Job Creators," without actually creating a meaningful job that could allow anyone to pay today's rents or save for a house. So, yeah - Trump will always be popular - among the truly dumb, the selfish and those willing to hurt others in a sorry and sad belief they are superior.

Kyrie Irving is grossly ignorant. And no, I will not defend him. I am not going to defend the next Black Republican hero, Ron DeSantis, for his willfull ignorance about the awesome and human changing achievements of Black scientists, inventors, explorers, agronomists, teachers and leaders ... why should I excuse Irving? Kanye West is bipolar. He never represented me. Rev. Al Sharpton and Barack Obama did.

Cynqiue, On other forums, many White people have urged the U.S. to go to war to defend Ukraine. I say Hell no! Do I think Ukraine is losing? Ukraine has LOST! It's cities' infrastructure has been bombed into complete disrepair, its populace may cheer their recapture of Kherson, but it's an empty victory. It will take years to rebuild all the damage Russia caused. Ukraine could not have won. Trump doomed the country when he refused to rush aid to Zelensky when the Ukrainian president asked for it. Trump demanded a phony investigation in the Bidens in return for aid. This is what happens when addle-brained idiots put their faith in a psychotic maniac who puts his own ego in front of his country, the suffering and the planet.
