  1. I can understand being disenchanted with what most call The Bible. However, calling people "morons" does win over people to your cause or way of thinking. Most individuals on this planet have no clue that The Bible is the world's all time best book seller and has been translated in virtually every language that has been widely read. As far as Christianity? There is no friggin' way that the man who is called Jesus, the Nazarene, in the Greek Scriptures, could have been White. Just look at the climate of what many call Ancient Israel and the entire surrounding region. There were no indigenous Whites there until long after Jesus and his 11 Apostles passed off the scene. There might have been Greek and Roman soldiers, who had sex with local women and fathered children, just as Hannibal's soldiers did when they controlled northern Italy for fourteen years. But they were not indigenous to the region.
  2. CRT actually DOES make a lot of White People uncomfortable. In fact, the very term enrages millions of Whites and probably, a good number of Latinos as well. And it's because well-meaning Black educators, historians, activists and observers never came up with a one-sentence explanation of what CRT really is. The funny thing is that CRT is taught at the university level only. It is not Black History at all and it is not taught in grade, intermediate/ junior or any high schools. And because no unassailable one sentence description was ever devised that could be employed to hurl back at CRT's detractors, this ceded the political debate space to haters of Black Advancement for more than a year. And during this time, many ignorant Whites either unknowingly or knowingly gave the GOP tremendous momentum to make CRT a huge political wedge issue. Now, without cheating and using only your own words, describe what Critical Race Theory is.
  3. One of the reasons I initially declined to comment on this thread is because I recognize there may be more than one incredibly mean-spirited and vicious-minded person in these discussion forums. From her comments, Mzuri seems to exhibit scant sympathy and patience for many other Blacks who get into trouble. She can be beyond hateful at times. And such thinking puts her in the company of like-minded GOP legislators who think nothing of slashing Aid to Dependent Children, aid to disabled children, ( Texas Governor Gregg Abbott in 2016 ), refusing to add funds for Veterans Affairs and cutting the budgets for Medicaid and Medicare benefits for the elderly, the disabled and the chronically ill. So, it stands to reason Mzuri might heap abuse on those who take their own lives for the sole sake of appearing superior. Recent suicides did not just claim the lives of notable Blacks, but it also took the sons of actor Michael Madsen and Irish singer Sinead O'Connor. We know that Regina King's son, Ian Alexander, took his own life. And now, suicide has snuffed out the future of former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst, whose mother said publicly that her daughter was a beautiful soul, despite being prone to depression.
  4. Mzuri, you really should learn to understand that this is a DISCUSSION forum. And when I first signed up here, the topics ranged from Black and African History, Numerology, Religion, (both pro and con), national and world economics and some politics. But because Barack Obama was in the White House, there was not such heated back and forth that lasted for weeks among the discussion participants. We did not always agree, but there were few nasty and insulting personal attacks. You called my thread harassment. Really? I simply told the truth. And provided links for evidence of my suppositions. Most Black and White writers and bloggers have come to the same conclusion about certain Trump voters and it's this: Most Black Trump backers know full well that Donald Trump really does not like Black people. He never has. Trump has a 50-year history of disparaging Black people and I posted links from two different news source that prove this. Now, to get around these legitimate facts, these writers strongly suggest that Black Trump supporters resort to playing ignorant of Trump's worst verbal outrages. And that many prefer to highlight real or imaged verbal faux pas made by folks on the Left. As if that is going to magically erase Trump's racist words, deeds and behavior. So, for the record, I was not harassing anyone. I was simply doing what normal people do in any news or discussion forum. I offered a topic for discussion on a matter I had thought about for a long time, but only posted after garnering proof of what I was going to say.
  5. Cynique, I used to look forward to coming on here and reading some thoughtful and congenial posts from Black people. I imagine those days are gone forever. I just cannot believe the Hate from some. Some folks seem to live for it.
  6. Mzuri, just like your hero, you are so fond of childish putdowns. I only know of one incident when Joe Biden referred to (but not called) an adult Black man as a "boy." This was in June 2019 during a FEMA meeting before he was elected POTUS. But he never called the man "boy." So, you are wrong. Now, where is the proof of a second incident? Anyone who has listened to Richard Pryor's comedy routines understands that employing terms "the boy" or "da boy" does not have a racist connotation. It is simply a colloquial manner of referring to a males. Why I want to know is why you spout exaggerated charges and exhibit hysterical rantings over some things? Now, do not forget: You have to provide proof of Joe Biden actually calling a Black man "Boy" as a demeaning insult. Not simply referring to the Black adult man in an everyday sense as in "The boy knows Louisiana ... " which is how Joe Biden said it.
  7. This is funny. Daniellfgny, does not believe this statement from the Brennan Center of Justice is true. I am sure he has years of experience personally investigating the circumstances of each and every Black individual in the U.S. Because it never occurs to him that hundreds of thousands Blacks who do not possess a valid photo I.D. might not have in their possession the needed documents that will be acceptable to most state of federal agencies tasked with issuing photo I.D.'s. I guess he wants everyone to only believe Trump. The future is unclear for cryptocurrency. And some warn it may not be the financial salvation that many Blacks think. There will likely be numbing fluctuations in cryptocurrency prices. And anyone who invests in crypto must accept the risk and the possibility of losing money. Because if there’s constant feature of financial investments – it is volatility. Which is simply a sudden shift in investor sentiment which can result in fast and serious price swings. It is not as if the Black race has billions in disposable wealth that can be used for investments and which can absorb major downturns. The majority of Black income is used for housing, food and transportation. The average annual income of U.S. Blacks was only $45,870 in 2020, according to Statista, the Hamburg, Germany, business database company. That is far below the annual income of Asian Americans and Whites, who are the top earners in the U.S. But this is not stopping some Blacks from eagerly buying into the promise of cryptocurrency. A lot of money is being tossed at actors, music artists and other celebrities as they promote and endorse crypto. When it comes to getting rich, some will do according to their Need or Greed. Here's another viewpoint: https://time.com/6106706/bitcoin-black-investors/Bitcoin seen as Financial Nirvana by some Blacks
  8. Mzuri seems to think Joe Biden spent a lot of time calling Black men "Boy." She continues to hyperventilate over a lone incident. But completely ignores DECADES of Trump's racial and misogynistic insults and behavior. Because apparently, nothing can ever get in the way of her adulation of her the worst President in U.S. history. I bet she does not realize Trump had been the only POTUS since Herbert Hoover to leave the Oval Office responsible for less jobs in the U.S. than when he first entered office.
  9. Danellefgny, Trump was once a POTUS! He was never a comedian. If you think constantly hurling insults on a individual's appearance is good and proper when one sits in the Oval Office, there is something wrong with you. You mean to tell me you cannot tell the difference between a comedy show and when a POTUS speaks? Which is exactly why Trump screwed up the country.
  10. She is a celebrity, so those who cover celebrities in the popular news media want to report on this. Many people eat this stuff up and exhibit strong feelings about it. I am not going to criticize Rhianna for not getting married. The world has changed and young people's attitudes towards permanence and marriage have also changed. This business is between her and her boyfriend.
  11. If the culprits are White juveniles, we may never see their faces. Police agencies and news media in various states have differing policies when it comes to identifying juveniles by name and face. And the last time I heard a news report on one of the evening news programs about these incidents, racial animus was blamed for the deciding factor in the threats.
  12. My feeling is that Whoopi should have kept her mouth shut. Or tendered a less than demonstrative response. I have read more than a few books on the Holocaust and there is no doubt that Heinrich Himmler and his fellow Nazis targeted Europe's Jews as a race. Just as they targeted the Roma (Gypsies), Poles, Gays, anti-Nazis, pacifists and eventually Soviet civilians. From my book readings, I've learned that about 15 million individuals perished in the Holocaust, six million Jews and likely nine million others. I have also seen a few movies as well. However, I remain more interested in films that depict the history of Blacks, which for the most part has been hidden, discarded or trashed. What is becoming so hilarious to me is this assumption on the part of many that I am wedded to CNN. I refused to accept single source news stories from my staff. And I don't accept just one network's news reports either. In fact, I gave up watching cable news. CNN was never the end-all for me. It just came to the fore during the 1990-91 Gulf War. I prefer reading. Because I was always a writer and a business college adjunct. Portrait photography was a hobby which morphed into a small business. Now, some are curious about where her adopted name "Goldberg" came from. In the 1980's Whoopi was an aspiring stand-up comedian. And her adopted name allowed her to stand out. I think she's a terrific actress, an entertaining spokesperson and can be sage and sarcastic.
  13. Cynique, I am certain Trump will have many acolytes and defenders. Too many millions in this country yearn for an authoritarian regime where dissent is quickly crushed, untruths are desired and people who refuse to drink the dictator's Kool-Aid are targeted for silencing. This is always one of the more popular attractions of Totalitarianism.
  14. I think many in the GOP, especially the extremists are just hankering to use their guns on anyone they do not like. Not sure what will happen to those who opposed Trump's duplicitous and anti-Democracy nonsense. The only thing I am certain about is that Black people's presence, accomplishments and push to be included in the political process will once become a huge issue for many Whites. They simply do not want us around. But what else is new?
  15. Mzuri, I am retired and did not work for CNN and never wanted to. I also taught Writing and English Lit for five years at business colleges. Again, Mzuri, you just assume chit. And you're always ready with an ad hominen personal insult. The same with Nels, who apparently is taking time out from combat upon his "Battlefield of Life" and posting ridiculous claims that Joe Biden is an illegitimate President. Former Vice President Mike Pence said at Conservative rally in Florida (Link provided) that he had no right to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Which means Biden is a legitimate POTUS. To Troy: I am proud of former President Barack Obama and what he accomplished in the face of snarling racists and laughable accusations that he is a foreigner, a traitor and a Muslim. Of course, I love and respect Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle. Most Black people do. He is still beloved around the world. Is Trump? I admire Obama the same way I have tremendous respect for Black entertainers and spokespersons and defenders of the Black race. That does not mean I am love struck. I aim to tell the truth. If I am going to adopt a position, then I will do my best to offer proof. Not bullshit or an angry slanted response replete with infantile taunts. Only insecure folks do that. To all others: I am proud of my people and understand the many societal factors which give rise to criminality in Black neighborhoods. The U.S. judicial system usually comes down harder on Black people all the time than it does on Whites. Which is a huge element which contributes to the numbers of Blacks in prisons. When White men were charged with voter fraud, obtaining mail ballots and forging signatures for the 2020 election, they were not punished severely. But when a Black women, who had a felony merely registered to vote, (but never cast a ballot because she didn't realize she couldn't vote under Tennessee state law), she was sentenced to six years in prison. Here's the proof. ( https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2022/02/04/tennessee-pamela-moses-voting-fraud-prison/ ) I don't wish bad on my Race and I hope everyone becomes successful. But I'll be damned if I am going to lambaste and condemn Black people because they have yet to ascend to a societal and income level that some would consider success. I bet that a lot folks who post their adulation of Trump look to their material possessions and income as a determining factor as to who should be judged worthy or not. And some of them truly do not understand English or political terms. Trump was IMPEACHED twice. He simply was not convicted. The same is true of Bill Clinton. Impeached, but not convicted. There is not getting around that truism. Failure to convict does not mean Trump was found innocent. To the individuals who can't control their rage at having their viewpoints challenged? Try being mature. Mike Pence: I had no right to overturn the 2020 election results
  16. Saturn Moon, This is why I wrote "many." You see, as a professional news writer and editor, I am well aware of how to cut detractors off at their knees. I also happen to know most Trump fans don't read that closely. Their whole existence consists of responding quickly with poorly thought out invective.
  17. Cynique, This discussion group, as I feared it would, has become little more than a roiling hate fest. Ugly personal attacks, deplorable mentions about individuals physical appearance and some of the silliest statements I have seen in a long time. What does a person's physical appearance have to do with factual engagement? I guess to some, who have no other way to voice their displeasure about an individual, they mean a lot. Trump himself is fond of tearing down people he does not like by cracking on their physical appearance and demanding that they never be heard from again. Censorship. It's what motivates many Trump supporters and they love to as their hero does. Trump demeans women by insulting their physical appearance
  18. RichardMurray, The latest is the culprits are juveniles, but are tech-savvy. They apparently camouflaged their source numbers.
  19. Cynique, One of the things I find downright hilarious, not just in this thread, but in so many on here, are the instant eruptions of childish outrage that someone would dare take issue with their chosen one, Trump. It is so amazing that the bluster of some of Trump's most rabid defenders ignores all the posted truth of this guy's pettiness, constant belittling and pervasive hatred of Blacks, Latinos and Muslims. Their mischaracterizations of astute responses and dismissals of facts paints them as resistant to truth. Instead, they chalk it up to Trump Derangement Syndrome. Because they can't bring themselves to accept that Trump's detractors are not deranged. It's just that there is so much to say negatively about this liar and twice impeached former Prez that one does not need to be deranged. Just have a good memory or average Internet research skills. The data will is easy to find. Where's my proof? Just read some of the posts from Nels and Mzuri and witness how unbalanced they are when criticizing members of their own kind. I don't hate Trump. But I always thought he was an ignorant, vengeful and vainglorious blowhard. Who else resorts to insisting his residential apartment is three times the size it actually is in documents designed to impress others? It is kind of silly to enter a debate and destroy your own premise by resorting to hateful and cheap theatrics as well as juvenile imprudence.
  20. Trump was impeached twice and still may face criminal charges. This thread if not about President Bill Clinton, Secretary Hillary Clinton, President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris. It is certainly not about President Barack Obama, either. It is not about ANY political figure. It is only about Black supporters of Donald Trump and the psychology behind their undying support. It continues to amaze me that so many on here can't seem to read. None of you recall Nel's attack on Black People about getting our own house in order before we go after others? You forget that, don't you? His claims most of us are criminally minded. On government assistance. What poppyock! That's HIS opinion and he cannot prove any of it. Black people are made of stern stuff. Everything I wrote about some of the more strident Black Trump supporters is true. These ones react with bitterness and rage if anyone criticizes their hero. Or they employ childish attacks which have no bearing on the debate. Stick to the facts. And for your information, the United States was NOT doing well while Trump was President. People all over the world laughed at us for electing a constant liar, a man who paid off porn stars and hinted that Covid-19 would magically disappear while withholding vital medical equipment that hospitals in Blue States sorely needed. Covid-19 infections across the U.S. only began to retreat or slow down once Joe Biden was in the White House. Previously, I've posted two links proving Trump's long history of animosity towards Black people. But you want to ignore the carefully researched and well written news stories. And instead, bring up nonsense about other people. Several studies of U.S. voters' trends, attitudes and outlooks have decidedly proven that a majority believe Donald Trump was the worst U.S. President in history. I posted a link from PBS. The ones who claim Trump was so great while in the Oval Office have reasons for doing so. And I bet most of them have to do with Trump hating, disliking and marginalizing people they can't stand. Or hoping Trump's belief in lying and cheating others to make him more money will rub off on them. Survey Said! Trump is the worst president ever
  21. Learn to read Nels. Learn to read. Trump was NOT the focus of my thread. What is are his Black supporters and their psychological fealty to him. Now, read those lines again S L O W L Y.
  22. According to CNN: Coppin State University Jackson State University Morgan State University Alcorn State University Tougaloo College Kentucky State University Fort Valley State University Howard University Xavier University University of the District of Columbia Spelman College Edward Waters University Rust College Xavier University
  23. Prof D, Normally, I would agree with you. However, many Black Trump supporters tend to personally attack other Blacks who do not agree with them. To me, this is juvenile behavior and betrays the premise that all should have a voice. If you do not care from someone's choice in politics, respond intelligently and truthfully, but without ad hominen personal insults. The overwhelming majority of Black voters rejected Trump in 2020 and I bet, will continue to do so.
  24. Many Black Trump supporters, particularly the ones who aren’t famous or super rich, are usually seething inside. They're lacking something socially or emotionally and their false belief they are superior to other Blacks does not fill this void. This is why so many lack empathy for Blacks who are abused, experience misfortunes or are poor. They tend to devalue the misery of those in need. What remains unfathomable to me is how so many blithely ignore Donald Trump’s racism. I blame cognitive dissonance for this. And it occurs in Black Trump supporters because they want to desperately believe he is a successful business man, incredibly moral and smart and supporting him will elevate them all to prosperity. But the reality begs to differ. Trump has been impeached twice. He lies constantly, and openly admitted he wanted Mike Pence to overturn the 2020 election results. Trump has paid off porn stars who had sex with him. And he cares little about empowering anyone unless they’re White. He also takes a special delight in attacking Women of Color. And since all this reality threatens the beliefs of Black Trump supporters, they have to mentally conjure up excuses to overcome this. This is why some will whine and lie about most Blacks being on government assistance, undereducated, prone to violence, criminally minded or birthing children they cannot properly care for. And all because they insist on supporting Trump, whose shattered ego won’t allow him to accept he lost the 2020 election. Or admit the man he succeeded was so superior in Word, Speech and Deed, that it probably disturbs his sleep. Trump still cannot stand the fact that an impressive Black man won the White House twice. Without resorting to lying or cheating. Obama’s greatness in giving speeches cheered billions. He astounded the entire world with his soaring oratory. Few men could match Obama when he spoke. In Japan, compact disc recordings of Obama giving speeches were snapped up and used to learn the proper pronunciation of English words, according to an October 2019 story in the New York Times. (Link provided) Most Japanese people, including those studying English, would have difficulty comprehending a speech given by a native English speaker, wrote Miki Tanikawa, who authored the NY Times story. But “Mr. Obama’s English is easy to understand because he pronounces words clearly and speaks at a relatively slow clip,” said Professor Tadaharu Nikaido, a communication specialist in Tokyo. “Movies tend to be the most difficult for Japanese, especially when actors mumble their words.” (This is from that Times story). “Mr. Obama sets his range of vocabulary wide enough to accommodate the highly educated and the less educated, Professor Nikaido added, and at the lower end, it sometimes comes within the range of non-native speakers’ comprehension.” Think anybody wants to buy CD’s of the mumbling meanderings of Trump? It is amusing that Black Trump supporters cannot stand when anyone finds fault with their hero. Which is why when their view that Trump is a god is challenged - they react in bitterness and rage. How dare anyone point out the truth about this lying, cheating man? How dare anyone criticize him? Well, it’s because in the U.S., one can do so. It’s perfectly legal because of something called the First Amendment. And no amount of childish epithets or petty anger will ever change that. Obama's Speeches Taught Japanese English
  25. In the same Jan. 28 speech, Carol Hefner compared former President Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler. Lovely woman. But she seems to be in good company because in India, right wing Hindu extremists have been calling for the extermination of Muslims. India’s Supreme Court said it would investigate after complaints that Hindu nationalist leaders called on followers to take up arms against the country's Muslim minority, according to a Jan. 28 story from NBC news. “We must prepare to either kill or be killed,” one of the speakers, Swami Prabodhananda Giri, said at the three-day conference, which was held Dec. 17-19, NBC news reported. Anti-Muslim sentiment has been rising in Hindu-majority India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a Hindu nationalist. But recent calls to violence are shocking in their extremity, experts say, going beyond hate speech to advocate ethnic cleansing. Oklahoma City Mayoral candidate calls for eradication of Islam
