  1. Personally, I think Eric Adams screwed up with two boneheaded hiring decisions. The first was appointing his brother, Bernard, a Deputy Commissioner. Bernard, a former NYPD sergeant, had been assistant director for parking at Virginia Commonwealth University the past few 10 years. After a huge outcry, Bernard was downgraded to executive director of the Mayor's security detail. But the new Mayor's worst decision was hiring Phil Banks III as a Deputy Mayor for Public Safety. Banks had no explanation why $300,000 suddenly appeared in his and wife's bank account in 2014. He quickly resigned after being outed as an unindicted co-conspirator in a federal corruption probe. But he's back and with him comes a huge hint of Mayoral impropriety, which dogged NYC's previous Mayor.
  2. The Democrats are about to get their backsides waxed in this year's midterm elections. Several mistakes are to blame and most are unforced errors. 1) Too many Black people remain ignorant of what Critical Race Theory actually is. It's not Black History, although many well-meaning Black folks claim that it is. And sadly, they cling to this errant view on social media. But Critical Race Theory is NOT Black History, which is a collection of truths and facts. Theories are simply suppositions. I will maintain that CRT is taught only at the university level not in grade, intermediate or any high schools. The problem lies in that few have come up with a ONE SENTENCE description of exactly what Critical Race Theory is. Most who try to explain it employ 50-cent word verbiage which average readers in the U.S. have a hard time understanding since most read at a 7th and 8th grade level. Others dance around it claiming: "Oh, it's been around for 40 years and such and such.” Long-winded explanations do little to clear the air. So, I fashioned a one-sentence retort that can be shoved in the face of CRT detractors. Because the GOP and its supporters have been killing us on messaging while we've gleefully surrendered the intellectual landscape by choosing to scream dumb chit such as "Defund the Police!" Oh, yeah, what a winning slogan that was. Here is my one sentence description of CRT: Critical Race Theory is a premise that posits skin color and race determine the outcomes of most decisions, laws and behavior in the U.S. That's it! That is the one sentence description. And this one line should have been tossed back at those White racists who have been skewering us with attacks on the social term "woke." This is why we have lost the Messaging War. And CRT is going to be used by millions upon millions of racist and angry Whites, Latinos and some Blacks to clobber the Democrats at the polls in November. 2) Refusal to acknowledge Bernie Sanders' push for so-called Democratic Socialism has failed miserably. Far too many folks are still drunk on Bernie's Kool-Aid. I keep running into folks who swear the solution to everything is Socialism. As if this canard of economic belief has been successful in any modern society or nation. However, by listening to this aged clown Bernie, AOC and her merry band of knuckleheads threw in all their social wants and desires into the Build Back Better bill, completely guaranteeing that no one, except maybe Kim Jong-Un, would go for it. The bill had to be reworked a few times before the House took a vote. That's why it failed. BBB contained too too much, would cost too much and proved far too ambitious for most legislators and pundits. But you can't tell Bernie Bots anything. They truly believe they were sent from on high to rule. Yeah, okay. In addition to having a new Voting Rights Bill fail, Black people are now going to have to contend with even more Red states preparing their own voter suppression laws. Gotta hand it to all those dumb-azz 2016 third party voters. By denying Hillary Clinton their votes, they enabled Trump to squeak by in enough states to win him the White House. I doubted Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg would have survived the first term of whomever won in 2016. She didn't. And this gave Trump a chance to appoint three toadies to the Supreme Court. I believe more than 10% of Bernie Bots voted for Trump in 2016. Some news outlets peg it higher. Even if most return to the Dems this year, we're still going to lose in November. Bernie supporters likely put Trump over the top
  3. Troy, kindly stop your ad hominen personal attacks and understand that I could care less what you think. You made it clear long, long ago that you surmised I was a former nemesis who returned to haunt you. Trust me, I'm not. You were never impressed with me until I related to you that I attended Brooklyn Tech. I despair of folks who resort to personal attacks and refuse to deal with the realization that not everyone is going to agree with you. BTW, I am not on Twitter. And this is not a strong news platform. Don't try to patronize me. I spent 26 years as a Journalist, the last ten as a Senior News Editor in charge of my newsroom for the morning edition. Both morning and P.M. editions for three months out of the year. It published news and features about investments, mergers and acquisitions by venture capital and private equity firms. I had access to a bevy of news websites, wire services and access to several federal transportation officials. You're fussing with a guy who tracked down his Marine Sgt. son in the middle of a shooting war in Iraq at the behest of his worried Mom. The incident was highlighted by two Journalism professors at Columbia to showcase how the Internet, expertise in Journalism and a cool personality could be used for practically anything in a short time. Do you want to know why this discussion forum is dead? It's obvious. You don't want discussion. You want an "Amen" corner. I didn't knuckle under to my White bosses or the young racist twits I supervised who had Master's Degrees from Ivy League universities. And I was still able to get former White colleagues hired. You don't scare me. No one does. Your main goal is to sell books. Congratulations! May it go well with you. I don't wish anyone bad. I want all to thrive and be successful. Even those who don't care for me. Outside of Journalism, teaching and portrait photography were my things. Stop getting personal. I actually had believed you were better than this. I do know what is most important to Black people, but not what most are discussing. I am older and pay little attention to what a lot of younger Black people say. Talk is cheap. And mostly full of erroneous opinions, slanted views and voices and emotions tinged with disappointment or vengeance. I was also a moderator on Black issue forums. I don't work any more. I'd rather volunteer. I only write to keep the neurons moving. I stay close to home to avoid people who may not be vaccinated and refuse to wear masks. I also try to keep a sense of humor. Because it has served me well. I am not going to allow Hate or personal insults to change me. I hope they never do. Now, if my response angers you or anyone else, you can remove from your website. It's life. Oh, yeah, about that much more Blacks love Trump than we think thing: Get a load of this: https://www.politico.com/news/2021/11/29/judge-jan-6-defendant-broadway-actor-523447
  4. Money will not be removed from politics easily. The system is too ingrained with favoritism. And at the moment, the winds favor those who favor Fascism. All Republicans are not racists. All Republican voters are not racist. Many simply deem the GOP more financially responsible and leaning more towards their personal moral code. This is not necessarily true in all instances. I am also speaking from personal experience. That is simply the way it is. Many Blacks who support the GOP do so because they've reached an income or reputation level where their economic or social success appears to dictate a rightward tilt. Or they are simply self-hating and think they are superior to their own. Do you recall when I claimed that Trump was increasing his level of support among Blacks for the 2020 election? How many responded with howls of derision and invective? Stop thinking I don't know what I'm talking about. The problem with too many Blacks is that they dismiss the most extreme of some Leftist positions and defend indefensible behavior. If you favor children being introduced to sex, homosexuality, lesbianism by people who are not their parents, guardians or caregivers, understand many are going to have a problem with that. Only parents or caregivers should decide what their children should believe. You do not have that right or permission. If you keep silent about these folks arriving enmass to commit smash and grab crimes in malls, shops and retail stores, then take notice that the news media will continue showcasing these videos which tend to harden the attitudes of the anti-crime and law enforcement supporting crowd. Not to mention those who wish for pricey material things, but may be content to wait until they either have the funds or choose to do without. If you make excuses for inner city gun violence while only screaming about police brutality you are part of the continuing demise of the Black Race. I don't care how much money can be made by selling or controlling the sale or distribution of illegal substances - whose people pay the biggest price in the end? The Left is divided into several camps. 1) A group of well-meaning, sober thinking and introspective activists, analysts and thinkers 2) Wide-eyed angry folks bent on revenge 3) And of course, the immature, impatient and over-confident folks who label themselves Progressives. Sprinkle in the envious, the supremely ignorant and the out-of-touch and that's the world most of us face. And by the way, the reason I create memes (because I came to this genre late - I was a new writer and editor, afterall), is because some things are better left unsaid, but illustrated. Don't worry, I actually have found a forum where my illustrations are readily accepted. I just discovered while battling bunch of White Supremacists on a few news forums in the run-up to the War against the Iraqi People, that the best way to silence an irritating knucklehead is to humiliate them before onlookers. And humor works best. It gets lurkers on your side, they comment favorably, you keep it going and then WHAM! You clobber the dummies. You don't have to take my word for it. Personally, I could care less. I've always believed the fact that I was always able to articulate my positions well in word and speech proved that I am no slouch.

  6. Guys, if this thread and topic are inappropriate, then delete it. I create these memes myself. Some may not like them, but many others did. Again, if I have overstepped my bounds, kick me to the curb...
  7. I am hoping. I am really hoping.
  8. The election of retired NYPD Lt. Eric Adams proved one sold thing: The Progressives who fronted the failed "Defund the Police" slogan were completely off the mark. Because that is not what they really meant. What they actually wanted was a shift in police funding priorities to include a social service counseling component. But as in many social protest cases, the loudest and the most disagreeable of the loudmouths won out. In actually, most people in this country want and need good police. Blacks just don't want racist or brutal police and I believe many Latinos feel the same way. Our political side is just horrible at messaging and that Defund the Police slogan cost the Democrats handily.
  9. While preaching “owning one’s land from which they cannot be booted” is a good tactic, it has obvious drawbacks. Because we have read time and time again how thousands of Blacks were forced from their lands, homes and businesses through violence or financial and legal chicanery. As far as learning racial codes and other perceived social animus secrets: Every bit of defensive knowledge helps. However, far too many Black people remain wholly ignorant of the danger they face these days. And that is because of complacency, materialism and inner betrayal. I bet most Black citizens have no clue that in certain states, they have actually lost their Right to Vote. In September 2013, the Supreme Court ruled 5 - 4 that Section 4 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was unconstitutional. Section 4 determined which U.S. states must receive permission from the Justice Department or a federal court in Washington before they made minor changes to voting procedures, like moving a polling place, or major ones, like redrawing electoral districts. This allowed nine states, mostly in the South, to change their election laws without advance federal approval. And since Trump’s 2020 defeat, several states have passed Voter Suppression laws. While Blacks can still freely vote in Blue States, I personally believe Democrats’ chances of turning Texas purple, then perhaps, blue have disappeared forever It is a terrible shame what has happened to the proud legacy of the Black Farmer in the U.S. https://www.thenation.com/article/society/black-farmers-pigford-debt/
  10. ProfD, I am pleased to make your aquaintance.
  11. This is simply super news! Justice has been done! It really does not matter where the three convicted killers serve their time: They will undoubtably be protected.
  12. More Colorism. I feel sorry for most of you. I know some White Liberals who are more "Black" in loving our entire people than many of you. Maya Rudolph's mother was singer Minnie Riperton. Does Maya reject her Black side as Candace Owens and Stacey Dash have?
  13. A Black person. What does his or her having a light skinned grand parent have to do with it? Stop judging, stop categorizing and stop looking into the past. The future is now. We have lives to live and a history to safeguard.
  14. Pioneer, That is your opinion and I could care less what you think. Got news for you: Stacey Abrams will continue to impress. And you will continue to grouse.
  15. Troy, I'm surprised at your description of Barack Obama as inexperienced. And you're taking issue with those who voted for him? No first time U.S. President has experience at being POTUS. None. So, they're all inexperienced. Our people continue to suffer from self-inflicted wounds.
  16. We all know friends and supporters will create new ones for the dude. This should have been done a long time ago.
  17. Troy, There are a lot more Blacks in these Right Wing leaning groups that many realize. There are thousands of Black gun lovers in the U.S. And many thousands more who just go about their lives quietly. But it's no longer a surprise that many Black Conservatives have thrown their lot in with these cretins. We just did not see many of them at the Capitol Hill insurrection.
  18. Pioneer1, You appear to be living in a time warp and have no friggin' clue what's really going on. You sound jaded, angry at life and thoroughly ticked off at anyone with a different viewpoint.
  19. It is a mistake to believe the domestic terrorists who stormed the Capitol Building share a GroupThink. The Capitol Hill rioters are not all Rednecks. That is an outdated and myopic view of Right Wingers. A son of a prominent Brooklyn Orthodox Jew who was elected a judge also stormed the Capitol Building. So did a few Black men. The ones who hate freedom and respect for everyone are a disparate group. And they include many cops and folks in the military. But I believe Delano wanted ideas of what will come next in a few weeks or months. Because the system will not be destroyed. It will simply evolve to meet the changing needs of the vile and the brutal.
  20. Well, it is now being by some news outlets reported as true: Angry supporters of defeated Trump who believe the election was stolen and Second Amendment fanatics plan to show up in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 20th. The instructions for these folks included a suggestion to bring a gun, according to some news networks.
  21. Here what is next for the United States: The country has entered an era of permanent insurgency. Intolerant, unreasonable and never satisfied Trump supporters want to completely destroy what’s left of political decency and compromise. I'm not going to waste my time with those who still claim both major political parties are essentially the same. Because they are not and haven't been resembled each other when it comes to human rights since the 1980's. The ones who stormed the Capitol Building and started a riot are not protesters. They’re domestic terrorists who are loyal to one person and one person only: Donald Trump. Because a police officer injured in the riot has died of his injuries, this means their ballyhooed “Blue Lives Matter” stance is as empty as their fraud claims. I wasn't surprised there were smatterings of young Black men in those hordes. They love Trump's dismissals of whole races, nations and their rightful ambitions. One of those rioters was Shlomo Mostofsky, a big deal in New York's Orthodox Jewish community. The father was elected to the court last January, according to Gothamist. Their next target may be the Biden/Harris inauguration. And as long as folks like this populate the nation’s police forces and the military, they will remain lethal and dangerous. Imbued with their bogus belief of superiority, they won’t stop until they think they can terrorize anyone who disagrees with them. While some Blacks remain fixated on their mirror and how they'll do under a Biden administration, they are blind to reality. For Black people, it's not a matter of economics, political expediency or even pursuing endeavors. As always it will quickly become a matter of survival for some Blacks who live in regions dominated by crazies. And one dosen't even have to live in Trumpian area. A Black woman was accosted by Trump supporters on the streets of downtown Los Angeles. https://nypost.com/2021/01/08/lapd-opens-probe-after-trump-supporters-attack-black-woman/ But some Blacks would rather oppose and denigrate their own.
  22. The Republican Party is much, much worse and has become the party of uber racists.
  23. Stacey Abrams’ triumph in Georgia elevated her into the ranks of storied political legends. Those who don’t understand BlackThink and how candidate transparency is necessary to increase voter turnout ignore her at their peril. Stacey kicked butt in the Peach State.
