  1. Rest assured that alpha-men will rise in crisis mode. Women, children and weak links will be made to fall back.
  2. I'm still at zero chance the former POTUS goes to prison. In fact, I believe he's more likely to get re-elected than to put on a jumpsuit matching his skin color.
  3. You have more compassion than I do. I cannot give Kanye a pass for his actions especially knowing his back story. I believe he uses everything in his life to maintain his celebrity. Again, Kanye is not a *dumb* dude (unintelligent) by any stretch of the imagination. Quite the opposite actually.
  4. Not that kind of movie to show Black folks loving each other. Considering the storyline, the woman warriors are fighting and killing men. However, the king (a dude) does have several wives. I know that would be right up your alley. But, there are no s8x scenes and the women aren't showing their breasts. Again, it's not that kinda film. Think along the lines of Wonder Woman minus flying and special powers.
  5. @Pioneer1, Harlem Nights is a classic AfroAmerican movie. Funny as h8ll. Yep. Mumble-mouth Herschel is still in the race as abortions fall out of his closet. White supporters are claiming it's not a big deal. His policy promises are more important.
  6. Man, where have you been hiding for several decades. For a long time, they have been plying foolish n8gglets with money, drugs, white women and whatever else they want in order to secure their allegiance and directly or indirectly promote a racist agenda. White folks are very good at holding their nose and doing whatever it takes to use Black folks. Exhibit A... a dude like Kanye is an easy mark. Look at how those Kartrashians twisted his azz up like a pretzel. That's why he says dumb sh8t and is now wearing that ridiculous t-shirt.
  7. Unfortunately, if there any big mommas among us, they will tell us to let those boot lickin n8gglets in the yard while giving them that Aunt Esther side-eye. We'd have to take the sellouts to the woodshed for deprogramming.
  8. Yep. Unfortunately, there are Black folks who believe they have arrived beyond the point of white folks hatred. Kanye is not a dumb guy. He knows better. But, I think he's gotten so intoxicated from fame and money that his desire to remain relevant has him out here in these streets playing loose and reckless. He's gambling with his celebrity. As long as Kanye is willing to play the game, white folks will continue to enrich him. Apparently, in Kanye's case, whatever it profits a man to live lavish right now is worth the price of his soul. If/when white folks decide it's open season on killing Black folks, I'd be slightly curious to see where Kanye, Candace, Clarence, Larry, Herschel and Diamond and Silk to name a few are going to hide when the bullets start flying.
  9. My sista, I have read what dude has posted and while I applaud others for engaging with him, 1) I typically stay out of these types of discussions and 2) I'm wondering if he's a troll. A few comments in his posts have definitely raised my brow.
  10. There is something about turkey legs and wings that reminds me of this: Otherwise, if I didn't love that yard bird pimp aka chicken, I could almost be a vegetarian. I don't care for chicken on steroids either. Don't know if it's just a local thing but some places sell chicken parts that look like turkey legs and wings. Folks think they are getting more for their money buying and eating those over-sized wings. None for me please.
  11. The latest news on mumble-mouth Herschel Walker is that he paid for an abortion. Also, his son has put him on blast too. Yet, the GOP is still riding with that dude. I'm sure they could have found a stronger candidate/clown.
  12. Two strikes against this spot...1) I'm not a fan of turkey legs. 2) As an old man, I no longer wait in long lines to be seated in a restaurant. If I cannot be seated within a few minutes of walking in, I'll take my business elsewhere. There are plenty places to eat. I'm sure the Turkey Hut has something on the menu I could appreciate. If/when I visit H-Town I'll check into it. No waiting around though.
  13. Gotcha. As Black men, we definitely have to keep our heads on a swivel and stay informed because the hits are coming from several fronts. Looks like Ye back on his BS again. This dude and Candace Owens definitely need to spend some time with the drop squad.
  14. It seems to be keeping all h8ll from breaking loose in this country with a population of 345 million people. As mentioned jn another thread, America is such a melting that democracy is the only system that will work. Well, at least until a dictator rises up. On a positive, it would be great for American leader(s) to emerge appealing to citizens regardless of their party affiliation and pulling both sides together.
  15. Both he and his wife still enjoyed the movie.
  16. I like it but democracy doesn't work that way. Last POTUS found out the hard way with his azz in the seat. He couldn't get that wall half way built. Otherwise, one would have to be a dictator in order to exert that kind of power.
  17. It's all good bro, disagreement can lead to constructive dialog instead of an argument. It will take a whole lot for AfroAmericans to dictate how federal funds are spent especially when we make up a small percentage of the population. The 1st thing we'd have to do is convince middle- and working class and poor white folks that whatever we propose to do is within their best interests too. Considering the love some of those white folks have for the GOP and their European ancestry and believing they are better off than Black folks...getting through to them will be a tough hill to climb.
  18. Agreed. That's along the lines of a contingency plan I was referring to above. Regardless of the financial or physical situation of the citizens, America can afford to provide the infrastructure for transportation and safe harbor and care under any circumstance whether it's a natural disaster or an attack or a war. Unfortunately, the real America is motivated by money: It's really the responsibility of government to get these types of things done. Instead, they leave it up to capitalists.
  19. Florida governor threatened to send illegal alligators up north if FEMA didn't come down.
  20. Yep. I was referring to the lazy and denial folks who are going to ride it out until alligators and snakes are swimming around outside. There should be a contingency plan in place to evacuate those who cannot afford to leave for whatever reason. One idea would be to build more shelters capable of withstanding hurricane force winds. The talking heads are more concerned about the eroded beach and destroyed property (houses, piers, docks, yachts, etc.). The wealthy people could afford to leave and they have enough money and insurance to weather natural disasters and rebuild. Of course, there's little to no incentive to take care of the less fortunate. However, they're doing a much better job with Floridians than they did with the folks in New Orleans and Puerto Rico.
  21. Therein lie the paradox of faith and prayer; fate and reality. The real question is why people choose to stick around when they've been told to evacuate. No shortage of Darwinian candidates. @Troy, thankful that you're safe and sound.
  22. We cannot claim the political system is broken structurally and therefore the electorate cannot hold politicians accountable. The system works the way it was designed. Folks who meet a criteria can run for office. Eligible citizens have a right to vote. The bottom line is that people have to stay engaged politically well beyond casting their vote. Sit in on town hall meetings. Write letters and/or call their elected officials to find out how what they're doing to solve problems. Today's politicians are allowed to do nothing because too many people lose interest shortly after casting their vote. The bigger problem is that Americans are divided on every issue. There appears to be no consensus among us on anything.
  23. Well, it cannot go both ways. There has to be accountability across the board from the voters to the politicians they elect. Voters need to know for whom they're voting and what that person plans to do in solving problems they have identified. I'm not suggesting elected officials are incapable of comprehending problems. They should not have to guess the priority in which to tackle them.
  24. My 1st question is why are Black folks voting for these people who seemingly do nothing for them. My 2nd question is have Black folks provided the candidate/nominee/elected official with a list of priorities to which they can be held accountable. Even in the absence of being able to provide a financial incentive, the least Black folks can proactively do is codify their needs/priorities. Make the politicians do their job. Black folks in America had common problems at one point in time. So, it was easier for a Black politician to recognize and try to tackle them. Times have changed. Osmosis and assumption don't work. Very few elected officials and people in general are capable of satisfying needs/priorities that haven't been defined.
