I heard Cowbums owner Jerrah Jones' stumbling through answering the question of why he was in that photo. But, reading between the lines of of what Jerrah said, I know he wanted to say, "look, that curious teenager back in 1957 grew up and became successful enough to enrich many Blacks between my sports franchise and other business venture. I did right by you people".

@Pioneer1, I would agree on that factor because *everything* either directly or indirectly can be used to make more money especially in a capitalistic country.

@Pioneer1, I like the way you skipped over the part about traffic circles (roundabouts) being around long before automobiles. So, who is to blame for accidents...roundabouts or automobiles or bad drivers. Speed is definitely a factor in many car accidents. I still contend that poor judgement in the form DWI, DUI, fatigue, distracted drivers (cell phones, cosmetics, food, passengers, etc.) is the leading cause of accidents. OTOH, race car drivers speed around in a circle at 200 mph. Fatalities are rare.

@frankster nails it. I wholeheartedly agree that happiness is a state of mind and I'll add...being. Human beings who use things and other people to make them happy hardly ever achieve happiness. You have to be the source of your happiness first and foremost. Anybody else and/or anything else can only add to your happiness.

I see the evolution of the logo. The new one looks fine including the head color. The head color is a shade of brown that sits somewhere between the lightest and darkest AfroAmerican. Great.

Speed catches a bad rap as it relates to car accidents and fatalities. The real blame should be placed on poor judgement, impaired and distracted drivers and improperly maintained automobiles to name a few. Folks can drive as fast as they wish on the autobahn in Germany. There are fewer fatalities on the autobahn than US highways. But, here in the US, speed is a convenient excuse to criminalize drivers and increase revenues. Speeding tickets and traffic cameras have been big business for decades.

Back in the 1790s, Pierre L’Enfant came up with traffic circles (roundabouts) as an aesthetic in his street design for Washington, DC. Of course, there was no vehicular traffic back in those days. I have no idea of how fast they rode horses around it. Otherwise, traffic circles (roundabouts) break up the typical grid layout of street design consisting of vertical, horizontal and a few diagonal lines. In other words traffic circles (roundabouts) were not planned to cause confusion on the streets. It was intended to make streets look better from a planning and layout perspective.

This thread isn’t a waste of space. But, I do think fewer people are hip to NF Jr. Whoever is in power gets to make the rules whether it's a family, government, business or a game. Rules can be broken. Just a matter of becoming powerful enough to make it happen. A weak or silent opposition isn't the most effective change agent. It definitely won't garner power. That's why folks build strategic alliances when it comes to making rules and laws to control other people and resources and outcomes. The best way to overcome environmental error factors is to avoid a toxic environment. Create or find an environment that appreciates one's time, talent, knowledge, skills and abilities. People who work for themselves have an easier time navigating and/or avoiding environmental error factors. Otherwise, written policies still exist. Better employers and leadership use it and enforce it to keep employees in check. Employees should familiarize themselves with written policies so that they can minimize becoming victims.

@Cynique, glad you're on the road to recovery from the flu. Still looking great for someone who's supposed to be under the weather too. I would have bet large that a super cold wouldn't keep you down. Thanks for checking in on your extended family aka the peanut gallery.

@Pioneer1, you're right...Russia isn't stupid. For all the Russians know about how Ukraine is being aided and assisted, they aren't invading and/firing shots at the US or NATO. China is backing Russia but the Chinese aren't saying too much either. While real Ukrainians are dying in the process, this whole situation is prolitical. White folks don't mind killing each other over principles. They've only been doing it over many centuries.

@Pioneer1, many religious folks only read their Bible when directed to a chapter and verse. That's why so many of them parrot the same scriptures too. Evangelical Christians are on a totally different plane. They're using religion to uphold and reinforce white supremacy. Many Black folks are using religion to cope with life believing if they're good people, they will be rewarded a better life in paradise i.e. when they're dead. Religion and politics are used to keep people divided, dazed and confused. But, a little common sense goes a very long way.

@Pioneer1, I'm not thinking from an individual perspective. One person doesn't amass that kind of wealth without a system in place. As AfroAmericans, we could be pooling resources into a bank or some other investment that allows our money to grow exponentially. AfroAmericans could have a few billion or maybe even a trillion in their own bank. Then, our people could own businesses, major chunks of real estate, sports franchises, tech companies, farms and whatever else makes more money. We would be in a better position to provide job opportunities to our people too. AfroAmericans spend a lot of money consuming a bunch of dumb sh8t. Many of them give their money away to churches, get rich quick schemes, lottery tickets and other non-productive endeavors. Talk about making Investments and n8gglets don't want to listen. That's why many don't truly know how folks like Musk and Bezos made their billions. Black billionaires are dependent on White billionaires. Look no further than how quickly the rapper was demoted. He lost a billion overnight.

@Pioneer1, American troops are not directly or indirectly involved in nor being threatened by the Ukrainian/Russian dust-up. Just as I'm pro-AfroAmerican, I'm also an American citizen to the core. I know this raggedy azz country (United States of America) could be a lot better but there's no other place on earth I'd rather call home. That doesn't stop me from calling balls and strikes. That dust-up is not our problem until or unless POTUS PJB puts us in it. He won't. It's all political.

Spending 30 billion on a company provides the owner with the freedom to do almost anything with it. That includes crushing competition by any means necessary. The question to ask is how one man has made so much money that he could own a small ciity.

@Pioneer1, the Ukraine/Russia dust up is not our fight as @Stefan mentioned above. The US and NATO are complicit in courting Ukraine to join them knowing fully well that it would provoke Russia. The.Ukrainians sharing a border with Russia knew it wasn't a good idea to cozy up to the US and NATO. They brought this azz whuppin on themselves.

Herschel mumble-mouth Walker might have enough qualifications to pick up dog sh8t in Georgia. Mumble-mouth has zero experience in politics. But, he's running for US Senate. Mumble's candidacy is huge a joke. But, there's just enough people to think its funny enough to entertain.

@Stefan, it was definitely a Ukrainian missile gone wrong. They quickly stopped blaming Russia directly for the missile strike but indirectly, it's still their fault because as you mentioned...they're the aggressor.

Because we are AfroAmericans, identifying, carving out and codifying our culture does not have to be a tall order. Codification begins with knowing our history here in America and the fact that we identify as Black as a tie that binds us together. It's true that AfroAmericans have comingled with other cultures. Some of our people can be all over the place in that regard. But, there's already quite a few things AfroAmericans identify with that are unique to us. We need to built on it. The great that about this period in time and technology is that codification can happen very fast. Just a matter of 1) wanting to do it and 2) taking advantage of the resources available.

I liked "Get Out". Still haven't watched "Us" or "Nope" yet. I've heard that Jordan Peele has been influenced by Alfred Hitchcock and Rod Serling. From that perspective, his films will be an acquired taste for most casual viewers.
