Are Men Instinctively Different Than Women?
ProfD replied to Chevdove's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
Every generation thinks the future will be worse off. Human beings are adaptable creatures. The children will be fine. They no longer write in cursive. No pretty handwriting or signature. Everything is printed. But, the younger folks can type and work the h8ll outta of a cell phone, tablet or computer almost before they can walk and talk. I predict the future generation of humans beings won't any more or less confused than the current or past generation. There's nothing new under the sun. -

That was fast. Seems like just yesterday the movie was in theaters but it was released back in April. -
Female vs Male Attraction: An Observation
ProfD replied to Pioneer1's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
Because they march to their own drumbeat and prefer solitude over everything else, Sigma males may not appeal to women who are needy and/or clingy. A self-sufficient woman who does her own thing will have a greater appreciation for a Sigma male. -
A Black candidate who should meet most requirements ...
ProfD replied to Stefan's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
He's a Harvard educated guy (attended with former POTUS Obama), therefore, he has the intellectual capacity to be a public servant. The orange former POTUS wasn't a politician before he ran for office either. We see how that turned out over 4 years. Millions of people still love him. -
Fair enough. I've read your thesis so I'm not surprised.

Hill Harper admits that he's not a politician. Hus campaign is grassroots and funded by donations through his website. No superPACs. I think Hill Harper would really try to help the state of Michigan. Hopefully, he wouln't get corrupted by DC. -
Mainly because most Black leaders knew militancy could have led to a race war resulting in the wholesale massacre of most AfroAmericans. Even if they so desired. AfroAmericans would not have been able to amass enough weapons and bloodlust to launch a military campaign against their oppressors. Instead, AfroAmericans settled for integration, faith, hope and the belief that one day we'll all be free and that white folks would treat us fair and equal.

Knowing the history behind it, I saw the movie when it was in theaters. It was entertaining enough. -
As I mentioned in another thread, most wealth is in the cloud. A paranoid billionaire couldn't have a Brinks truck pull up and drop all of their money in the front yard. It's conceivable that the US treasury could produce large denomination bank notes for such individuals. Otherwise, as long as Oprah cannot touch or cash in her wealth, she's a mouse click away from losing it all especially if she p8sses off white folks. Remember how Kanye's fortune dropped like the Dow Jones over that claim of antisemitism. Death Row Records was worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Someone bought it for pennies on the dollar when it was sold at auction. Oprah's business assets are worth a few billion dollars as long as she's cooperative and white folks are in agreement. My house is only worth a half million dollars as long as someone is wiling to pay that much for it.

Yep...rest the dead...that brotha ruffled a lot of feathers as it relates to male/female dynamics. -
Female vs Male Attraction: An Observation
ProfD replied to Pioneer1's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
As sista @Chevdove pointed out, women are attracted to men for different reasons. It depends on a woman's needs, wants and desires of which they can have many and it can be ever-changing. However, I believe man's intelligence, confidence, strength, character, ability to be a provider and protector and his wisdom are things that make him most attractive to women. Alpha-males rule the roost. An alpha-male has some combination of qualities that women find attractive and are willingly to submit. An alpha-male *knows* his woman isn't going anywhere for any reason. His only competition is another alpha-male. The Beta and Gamma dudes pick up the slack. This is the majority of men. These dudes will most often have the hardest time maintaining a woman's attraction especially when either 1) the woman wasn't really attracted to him in the 1st place and/or 2) a better opportunity comes along (usually another Beta or Gamma). Men are relatively simple when it comes to attraction. It's usually a physical attribute. As a man gets to know a woman, she may have other qualities that can be assets. A man should be able to take care of himself. A man's basic needs when it comes to a woman are sex and respect (trustworthy). If a woman is intelligent, cooks, maternal, etc., that's a bonus. Yet, the laws of mutual attraction prevail. When the *right* man and woman find each other, everything else falls into place. If/when a man/woman has issue(s) finding and/or keeping someone...look no further than the common denominator (self). Human beings tend to be their own worse enemy. -
Are Men Instinctively Different Than Women?
ProfD replied to Chevdove's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
Men and women are different. As a species, the roles of men and women were clearly defined thousands of years ago. In the western world, White men are enabling a fluidity in gender roles mainly to undermine Black men especially when it comes to Black women. Make no mistake about it that regardless of how many white LBGTQ+ folks are running around, they're a minority. The white family is not in peril or jeopardy because a few choose to go astray. No different from women's liberation allowing them to leave behind housewife to work a job, white women are still on code as it relates to their role within their race. Same goes for white men who choose to live an alternative lifestyle. They still try to keep it low. As I mentioned in another thread, there's no other group of women who run around claiming to be strong or boss or anything domineering. They know their role as it relates to men. Look no further than every other culture on the planet. Again, the western world is liberating Black women and promoting LBGTQ+ under the system of racism white supremacy to further marginalize Black men. Men and women are instinctively different. The poison pills being dropped and sprayed in the western world have led to some confusion. However, I believe most men and women still know their roles even if they choose to do something different. -
Oprah went from a journalist to a talk show host. White men gave her a platform to entertain their housewives. They paid her a ransom. She's not self-made. Oprah is a beneficiary of being hand selected by white supremacists to be one of few AfroAmericans they were willing to allow make a billion dollars working for them. The fact that Oprah's an AfroAmerican female billionaire was a dagger white folks stuck in Black men. Anything Oprah does charitable for Black folks is commendable. However, you’ll never see her biting the hand that has fed her well.

Drug addiction, alcoholism and promiscuity made many religious AfroAmericans frown on musicians and entertainers back in the 1950s/60s. They weren't thugs and gangsters but their lifestyle choices and performing the devil's music was supposed to be an express ticket to h8ll. Dope became cheaper in the 1970s. It was followed by crack in the 1980s. It's easy to believe gangsta rap made things worse. As a musician, maybe I'm partial to defending art. But, folks were already using and selling drugs and gang-banging and all the negative that comes with it. As Public Enemy's Chuck D said, Hip-Hop music was the black CNN putting a bullseye on a the epidemic plaguing AfroAmericans. No different from Hollywood movies, artists and musicians took a negative aspect of life and monetized it musically. Parents still have the responsibility of raising their children to include what they listen to and watch. Sometimes, the problem is the *parents*. Obviously, Frankie Lymon's life wasn't a cautionary tale considering the number of folks who've fallen into drug addiction and the ills of it including the ultimate cost...no more life.

There is nothing new under the sun. AfroAmericans have been smoking, drinking, pimping and partying ever since they got off the plantation and especially once they headed to major cities. By definition, dysfunction is abnormality or impairment of an organ or system or deviation from normal behavior and regarded as bad. To me, dysfunction is doing sh8t that either doesn't work (unproductive) or causes harm to others (destructive) and/or doesn't provide tangible benefits to the greater good. I don't consider people who drink, smoke, use drugs, sell p8ssy, etc., as dysfunctional. Same applies to sexual orientation. That's their thing. Live and let live. IMO, dysfunctional people are those who do things that aren't constructive and/or productive and serve to harm or weaken the greater good of humanity. I had not heard of this movie until now either.

I Have Zero Interest in Threads (Zuck's New Twitter App)
ProfD replied to Troy's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
Black folks shouldn't be interested in these social media platforms especially if they're not going to use it for the tangible benefit of uplifting their own people. We don't need another platform for influencers, bootlicks, shills and other forms of crash dummies to show off on the internet. Besides, the only folks getting richer and adding to their billions are white folks. -
Both Justices Thomas and Jackson are the beneficiaries of Affirmative Action and sometimes the end result. They are two Black folks fully integrated into a white society who will do nothing to upset the apple cart of racism.

I Have A Confession....I Have More Respect For -
ProfD replied to Pioneer1's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
@Pioneer1, it would be very wise for you to travel to the thriving black communities across America. You will find many well-to-do Black folks who are neither sellouts nor thugs and gangsters. I grew up with the gamut of Black folks and know how to deal with *us* accordingly. There is method to the madness plaguing impoverished Black communities. Thugs and gangsters should be the least of our worries. My *issue* with Black folks is the lack of being code in terms of building an infrastructure and bridge to uplift our own people and dismantle the system of racism white supremacy. I feel that religion, money and politics, etc., have lulled Black folks into a false sense of security as it relates to dealing with the real devil out in these streetz...it's white folks and the system they've built. -

ProfD replied to Pioneer1's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
Understood. Sellouts/Uncle Toms/Aunt Sarahs make white folks feel comfortable maintaining the system of racism white supremacy. Thugs and gangsters poison and murder Black folks. Many of them go to prison or end up dead too. All of it fuels the system of racism white supremacy. IMO, net negative effect is the same. -
Brotha @Pioneer1, don't know what inspired this moment of introspection but it's a good thing to do sometimes. To verbalize it takes courage. Your style of dialog/discussion is needed and valued here. As brotha Del mentioned, everyone is unique. I certainly appreciate everyone's contribution to this discussion forum. We can agree to disagree and still be cool like family. Continue to be yourself mayne. As Steve Arrington sang, "nobody can be you but you....". Dr. Dre said..."keep their heads ringing".

Most politicians have a self-serving agenda...getting paid. In that regard, they are no different from the pimps in the pulpit. Therefore, if the adage is followed to "let he who is without sin cast the 1st stone", then, politicians would have keep those rocks in their pockets. Politicians are not in a position to clean up greed and corruption in other quarters.

Uncle Clarence Thomas is self-serving and the most self-hating Black man on planet. He's suffering in that Black skin. Conservatives selected Uncle Clarence to the SCOTUS for the very same reasons. White folks knew he would be a useful tool and food. No need to worry him championing a d8mn thing Black folk-related. As I mentioned in another thread, the only reason Uncle Clarence wears that black robe is because it's standard issue for the SCOTUS. Otherwise, he would be wearing a white like an altar boy. If a picture is worth a thousand words: There is nothing about this Black man that reflects happiness. But, he is a safe bet for white folks.

Nice article but it's an unfortunate situation. We know the effects of impoverished communities under the system of racism white supremacy. Politicians and law enforcement officials have forked tongues when talking about gun violence and crime in Black communities. Their livelihood is directly tied to the dysfunction in the communities they have been sworn to serve and protect. These Black males need to see more successful men of their own kind and be provided with a better job opportunities to accessing wealth . Otherwise, with seemingly nothing to lose, hopelessness and despair will lead to lack of respect for human life.

Absolutely. To some degree, the roles are reversed now. They call me for advice and help. But, it's great to be in a position to help them as needed.
