  1. What makes police brutality so vicious and difficult to understand is that it often goes against human nature. Police officers are given the authority to harm and even kill people. But when someone....even a cop...is trying to harm or kill you....your INSTINCTS are to either fight back or try to get away from the threat. You're not thinking about some LAW....you're thinking about SURVIVAL and preserving your life. If a cop has a gun pointed at a young mans head, even though he is "supposed" to stop and follow orders....it makes sense that he would get scared and try to flee the situation fearing for his life.
  2. Zeke The U.S. racial classification system is so confusing. In my opinion, those who can "pass" for White should be CLASSIFIED as White.
  3. Conversations with ProfD and frankster have made me think about the times in my life when I've took leaps of faith and the rewards I've gotten were much greater than I even asked for or even imagined. Even at what I considered "low" points in my life, this has happened. I remember when I was homeless and living in a shelter. They only gave us coffee in the mornings and pushed us out of the door by 7am. It reached a breaking point when one young man who was a diabetic who went into sugar shock one morning because he couldn't get any carbohydrates to balance his chemistry. We said they need to give us some donuts or toast or something....not just coffee and water. I got together with some people and we went to the administration running the shelter and gave them our complaint and said we demand donuts or bagels as a form of carbohydrates. 3 days later I was standing in line to get in the shelter and one of my partners asked me did I hear the news that they were going to be giving us food starting tomorrow morning. I happily said, "Oh....them jokers are finally given out some donuts???" He said, "NAW MAN......DONUTS, YOGURT, PUDDING, CAKE, POP TARTS, CEREAL, TOAST, OATMEAL, BOILED EGGS...all kinds of shit" Apparently my complaint reached the county board of commissions and they determined that it was a health risk for so many people of various ages to wake up and be sent out on the street without adequate nutrition. That's just one MINOR example of what I'm talking about. But it's one I bring up often because it's so easily understood. Have any of you taken risks or leaps of faith hoping to get some sort of reward and the Divine rewarded you not only with what you wanted by with benefits that you didn't even expect or imagine?
  4. Well I WILL admit that I still rely on White folks too to a certain extent. I still work for them primarily. Pay my rent to them. Even when I go to hospitals run by them when absolutely necessary. It's just programmed in me to do so. But the strange.....pleasantly strange...thing I've notice through out my life is when I take a leap of faith and STOP relying on White folks for a particular thing and take the initiative of doing it or solving the problem myself, the results USUALLY turn out to be even more successful than I imagined! I've had jobs where I came in on time (I've done that on almost all jobs I've ever had) and did what I was supposed to do and was respectful and a good producer....but didn't get the best treatment from my co-workers or management. But if they did something to anger me to the point I decided to tell them what's up even if it meant me getting fired....and made up my mind to quit and tell them all to kiss my ass if they didn't give me my demands....not only were my demands usually met but I was given EXTRA special benefits! This has happened on more occasions than I can remember or count.
  5. I heard they've been opening up the zoos and letting the animals run loose all over France.....lol. There are videos of lions and zebras running down sidewalks in major cities. Even the ANIMALS are tired of these damn devils.
  6. richardmurray History could have played out in a million different ways. I've heard and read so many different versions of what really happened and what the truth is. -Some say America DID really get her independence from England but is actually STILL under the monarchy. -Some say the Civil War wasn't about slavery but about something else. -Some say...and I agree...that Slavery didn't really end. -Some say there WAS a war for Independence and America won but the dates are all wrong. -Some say there WAS a Civil War fought to free Black folks from slavery but THOSE dates are all wrong too. However what we can pretty much agree upon is: 1. This land used to be completely controled by England....there was a major war between the people here and the British and now it's no longer completely controled by England. 2. Black people in this nation used to be pretty much confined to the South and forced to do heavy labor with no compensation, a major war was fought on this land for a multitude of reasons...and afterwards that was no longer the case for most of our poeple. Until I can get some more convincing evidence to show me otherwise, I'm going to rock with the above historical accounts. Chev Just like when Rosa Parks refused to get up, I think that kneeling did make a statement. Rosa Park's refusal to get up DID make a statement but it didn't win us our Civil Rights. The Right Reverend Dr. MLK and his efforts along with the riots of the 60s is what primarily got us our Civil Rights. Rosa just INSPIRED people to take action...but it was the ACTION ITSELF that got the results. Alot of people all over the world weighed in when Colin Kapernick made that brave move. Ofcourse they did, because it was a NON-THREATENING and pretty USELESS tactic to stop police brutality. White folks LOVE to support Black causes they know are useless. Which is why so many show up in large numbers to support Black folks who just march and sing in response to racist violence. They'll support you to the FULLEST. They'll show up by the thousands and even donate large sums of money just to stand around with you holding candles and chanting for peace and forgiveness. "Ebony and Ivory.....live TOGETHER in perfect....harmony!" But if you start burning and tearing up White businesses and chasing the racists down the street....the money will dry up and the White folks will disappear on you. Wait for the riot police and troopers to show up Those same White folks will be at home watching the scene on CNN while those damn candles are melting all over the sidewalk! Got an abusive husband? He'll support going to therapy and talking things over with the church pastor all day! But the moment you talk about actually LEAVING his ass.....lol...that's when things get hot. That's an actual SOLUTION to the problem, and some people don't want that.
  7. zeke As Troy pointed out, I'm not talking about the historical person known as Jesus, but the symbolic White Savior that so many Black folks around the planet have come to rely on to rescue them from their tribulations. What I'm talking about is beyond religion. Plenty of Asians believe in the religious Jesus of the Bible, but it's not stopping them from building sky scrapers, building major corporations and buying up land around the planet to establish businesses and legacies for their children. No.. The White Jesus I'M referring too is that "daddy" figure the Black man and woman is looking to and is expected to come to their rescue and do all of the work for them that they are too scared and lazy to do themselves.
  8. frankster They Represent Archetypes of Humanity Male and Female.....The Serpent represent an intelligence within both - This I have confirmed. Not asking you what they "represent". I'm asking have you confirmed and verified that the story ITSELF actually took place? Did YOU confirm that there were 2 people named Adam and Eve in a Garden talking with a reptile serpent? We are made of Atoms.....Atoms are part of Nature. All atoms are not the same. And even atoms that ARE the same will produce different objects when configured and structured differently. So no....just because two things are made from the same atoms doesn't mean they ARE THE SAME thing. Just like two different television shows may be made from the same light waves and sound waves coming through the same television tube....but they are two different shows because the sights and sounds are structured and formatted differently. I am It from a different Perspective and Frequency Which means you are DIFFERENT than the lake. We appear different as a result of Perspective and Perception Duality and Bias. Ofcourse you APPEAR different, because you ARE different. Where Did the material come from to make these things? Some came FROM (key word) nature, others came FROM the laboratories of human beings. The fact that some of the material to make them comes FROM nature should also tell you that they are no longer part OF nature. They can't be FROM it and still A PART of it at the same time. There are many more women out there qualified to hold the title and office of Mayor.. Are there many more beings out there qualified to be the Supreme? No. That particular Being would no longer be Supreme if another Being had the same Attributes. Is the Supreme a Title or Office? Title...yes. Office...not sure. In other words is it the Only or First? Not sure what you mean by "it".... However The SUPREME BEING is Both the First and Only Yes.....That is the case Do you have proof or even evidence of your claim that All that exists today has always existed? So this Being created Existence from itself??? I'm not sure. So there other Beings with which this Being is of a Kind?.....possible contenders? There are certainly other B/beings out there....YOU'RE one of them. And so am I. Contenders? No. Is this a Being or an Entity? Both. An Entity IS a Being. Whatever exists...whatever "be" is a be-ing.
  9. richardmurray And the thing BOTH pragmatisms have in common is that they both involve SMART Black folks who take ACTION in organizing people and putting their plans to work. After a while, you begin to realize that regardless of your race or the obstacles you face, for most people the United States is THE place for success if you know what you want and are determined to get it. Just like Jay Z and Byron Allen are Black Capitalists who got rich doing their thing in the U.S.....Elijah Muhammad and Marcus Garvey also became successful doing THEIR things in the U.S. We can grow and expand but you must leave the dead weight behind.
  10. Chev So....lol....does that mean you agree with me that power comes first?
  11. Every blue eyed person on the planet is a descendant of one single person Story by Kate Plummer • Yesterday 3:41 AM Blue eyed people, listen up. Ever wondered why your eyes are the colour they are? Well wonder no more. Every blue eyed person is descended from a single European who lived around 6,000 to 10,000 years ago, according to scientists. How did they work it out? Originally, all humans had brown eyes in various shades until there was a specific mutation that made the change. The mutation is a gene called HERC2 and it switches off OCA2, the gene that determines how much brown pigment we make. So that's why eyes become blue. As for being descended from the same person, the evidence for this is because every blue eyed person alive today has this same mutation. Scientists reckon only 8 to 10 per cent of the population have blue eyes and eyes don't fully develop in childhood meaning the brown pigment can kick in later, causing blue eyed children to end up with brown eyes in adulthood. So if you have blue eyes, now you know - your family is a lot bigger than you might have thought previously. A team at the University of Copenhagen released research on the subject. Professor Hans Eiberg from the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine said: "Originally, we all had brown eyes. But a genetic mutation affecting the OCA2 gene in our chromosomes resulted in the creation of a ‘switch,’ which literally "turned off" the ability to produce brown eyes." Every blue eyed person on the planet is a descendant of one single person (msn.com)
  12. ProfD Man, when I was watching Uncle Phil today.....I thought about you, lol. @Troy Phil Scott is one of the members of the "New Black Media" you were asking about a while back.
  13. The fact is, while the racist dog is biting OUR people over here...his brothers are biting the hell out of them ovethere and making it near unbearable to live. And I fault THEM for the same reason I fault a lot of our people.....for running away and leaving the problem instead of staying and building. But I can only blame them COLLECTIVELY, not individually. I can't blame a young man for not wanting to spend his entire life fighting and struggling against an entire government full of Black men and women who can't think outside of the box and would rather maintain a failed and corrupt colonial system rather than replace it with a better more harmonious African based one. He'd probably end up a grey headed old man waiting on things to change in his country.....and they STILL wouldn't have changed even as they were nailing his coffin shut. I can't really blame young Africans for hopping on boats and sailing over here to try to make as much money and bang as many women as they can under the RELATIVE "freedom" of the U.S. At MY age.......if I knew of a country that would take ME in....give me a good job making $75 an hour, better housing, superior healthcare....and allowed me to freely have sex with as many beautiful women as I could maintain an erection with...lol...I MIGHT be tempted to go there too....lol. Leave the U.S. behind and forget about it. Hop on the next plane, boat, or life rafts.....trying to make it overthere....lol. We're dealing with human beings. Humans have emotions. Humans by nature tend to take the path of LEAST resistance. Which means if they can make money and live an easier life by LEAVING home....most will.
  14. I've learned over the years that in order to solve any problem, you have to first properly IDENTIFY it. You gotta know what the problem actually IS....especially the root problem. If you're having problems with your eye sight you may THINK the problem is glacoma....when in all actuality it could be DIABETES. But because you don't equate high sugar with vision problems, you make the wrong assumption. Next thing the man knows....his foot is going numb and he's peeing all day. But he's assuming these are all SEPARATE problems when they all come from the same ROOT problem....the Diabetes. Well, it's the same with social problems. We see massive unemployment in the AfroAmerican community and may come to the conclusion that this is because there aren't enough AfroAmerican businesses....when that's A problem but not THEE problem. That's just a SYMPTOM of a much DEEPER problem. Perhaps the ROOT PROBLEM that caused the shortage of Black businesses is the same ROOT PROBLEM that causes high unemployment rates among AfroAmericans. .....solve that ROOT problem and you'll clear up all the other problems!
  15. I think as AfroAmericans we should celebrate BOTH July 4th AND June 19th as BOTH are important dates for our liberty. If there was no Independence from Britain in July 4 1776....there wouldn't have been an eventual Emancipation from CHATTLE Slavery in 1865. So both are worth celebrating. But I DO understand the arguments made by those AfroAmericans who refuse to celebrate it. I think every stand we take and every point we make should be MEANINGFUL. Don't be rebellious simply for the sake of being a rebel. I know some Black folks who grow beards simply because corporate America prefers that men be clean shaven.....just growing a bushy ass beard out of some silly protest. Others wear corn rows because they figure White folks DON'T approve of it. Last St. Patricks day, most of the White folks and a few of the Black and Latino folks at work were celebrating it.....I didn't. But I didn't go around with a chip on my shoulder making a big deal over it and lecturing them on the history of that murderous criminal who was NOT a saint. I just....didn't celebrate and went on home. But some Black folks went around wearing shirts saying "St Patrick Wasn't Black" and other shirts meant to antagonize White folks...lol. I put this KNEELING for the pledge of allegiance in the same category. Kneeling and turning around and spinning and spitting on the flag and running out the door as soon as the song comes on ain't doing a DAMN THING to stop police brutality. But niggas are NOTORIOUS for doing shit that DOES NOT WORK. So while half of the NFL and NBA are getting scabs on their knees from kneeling for the pledge of allegiance....White cops are STILL busting caps. Too many of our people are doing shit JUST to get a reaction from Whites. Just trying to get attention. Not actually SOLVING problems in our community...but just trying to get attention and piss White folks off as if THAT will solve some of our problems. If anything, it often makes MORE problems because then those same White folks will out of cowardice take their anger and frustration out in other harmful ways. We should focus more on doing that which BENEFITS us (whether it pleases White folks or angers them should be irrelevant) and less on what we believe pisses off White folks just to see the angry scowl on their faces....lol.
  16. Yes...... And if ALL you do is stand around shaking your head with your arms folded like a pregnant woman.......you can rest assured that this madness will CONTINUE over and over again. This reaction is a GOOD example of why we can't look to the so-called "professional negro" to solve the problems of our communities. Because THEY are looking to the White power structure -White sociologists, psychologists, law enforcement officers, and legislators- to bring the solutions. They aren't looking in the mirror for the solutions. Nor are they looking to another AfroAmerican for the solutions....for they trust neither. THEY are looking for their "White Jesus" to swoop down into the ghettoes of America and clean everything up, and until that happens...THEIR plan is to stand to the side next to the White folks (where they think it's safe) holding candles and shaking their heads, commenting on how senseless the violence has become. Meanwhile the REAL solutions to our problems usually come from the grass roots. From those who haven't been educated/trained (which means had their creativity stunted) by White academia. A good example if how the Fruit of Islam has a well known track record of going into the worse and most violent neighborhoods of America and restoring peace, law, and order in a number of weeks. They did this all through out the 80s and 90s. Well why don't they do it NOW, you ask? They ARE. Most NOI temples are located in the hardest of ghettoes, but there's no foolishness going on in THEIR temples or anywhere on THEIR property where THEY guard and protect it. Nor is there any violence and criminal activity going on at any event the NOI sponsors or speaks at because the NOI and MGT see to it being secure. What goes on in the neighborhoods AROUND NOI property and events.....((shrugs shoulders))...not their responsibility. That's on the local law enforcement....which may explain why those surrounding communities are in the shape they're in. Why the government stopped paying them and offering them contracts to secure public housing and other facilities......I have no idea (yes I do...lol). Don't ask me. But the point is, these are GRASS ROOTS brothers and sisters with CLEAR SOLUTIONS to the crime and mayhem that afflicts so much of Black America. But to those who've been TRAINED to put their faith in White Jesus....aka the White power structure....they will continue to stand on the sidelines with their arms folded, knees wobbling, and head shaking; being both observers AND eventual victims of the hate that the original hater produced.
  17. Really.....if you look at it from an idealistic point of view..... The onus is really on US as Native born AfroAmericans to: 1. Send for African immigrants and bring them here under OUR conditions 2. Have jobs and housing already prepared for them so they don't have to rely on White Americans or anybody else besides their fellow Black American brothers and sisters Now that's what we SHOULD have been doing, if we had our shit together as a community. And those who try to sell us out or don't meet our expectations....we send THEM back to their nation of origin until they get some "GIT RIGHT" in them, lol. Instead, you got Black Americans standing outside of Starbucks holding cardboard signs begging for food competing with African immigrants who are driving ubers and doing door dash looking at them mean and talking trash at eachother. If it's Summertime and the heat is sweltering and you went over someone's house and saw a grown ass man sitting on the floor fighting with a little girl over a popsicle because HE ain't bought any and BOTH of them have to rely on the girl's mother to buy them and bring them home from the store....what would you think of such a man? He shouldn't even be on that little girls level to have to compete let alone fight with her over a damn popsicle. Same with African immigrants and ALL immigrants to be honest with you. Our people shouldn't even be on the level with them to have to compete with and fight with them over resources. We should be in position to OFFER and TAKE AWAY resources from those immigrants who don't want to get with the program.
  18. A good example..... You have TWO FBA AfroAmericans on the SCOTUS right now.....TWO of them. That's more than 20%. Yet Affirmative Action is on it's way out the door and a lot of Black people are scratching their heads trying to figure out WTF. With 2 FBA on the SCOTUS we should be discussing the amount of REPARATIONS payments we're going to soon be receiving, and instead.....trying to maintain the right to vote. ((shakes head))
  19. ProfD I agree with you that everyone should have the OPPORTUNITY to have their basic needs met. I think the government should offer basic food, clothing, healthcare, and shelter to EVERYONE. Basic level. And go from there depending on people's needs such as -whether or not they have children -whether or not they have a disability the prevents them from working -whether or not they are elderly What people do with that opportunity should be up to them, but atleast PROVIDE it for them so there'll be no excuse. It should be a GUARANTEED CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT of every person regardless of race, sex, or ethnicity. I agree with this 100% However until we get this....Black people should be allowed to generate and accumulate wealth the best way we can as long as they are depriving OTHER Black people of wealth and resources. Now if they're getting rich off the blood and suffering of other Black folks....NO. Absolutely not. That's why I don't support the Black warlord or drug dealer. But as far as some of these politicians and actors....if White folks are just GIVING them wealth for their entertainment or to hold TOKEN political positions. And especially if they are threatened with the possibility that if THEY don't want that position....White folks will remove them and put another Black person in it and the show will still go on. They better TAKE IT and keep their mouth shut until a better idea comes to mind! It looks good in the movies, but running your mouth to power and sacrificing your wealth for the masses doesn't always have the outcome you expect. Sometimes some of the very people you're fighting and sacrificing for not only don't appreciate what you're doing for them but will even call you a fool to your face for denying yourself. Like when James Evans found the money and turned it in to the police instead of keeping it....lol. Niggas were throwing all types of dummy dolls in his apartment and sending him crazy phone calls for that dummy move....lol
  20. ProfD Well...... There certainly are a lot of AfroAmericans on local city councils. Certainly a lot of AfroAmerican mayors. Certainly a lot of AfroAmerican judges and lawyers and prosecutors. Certainly a lot of AfroAmericans in CONGRESS ITSELF. So I'm not sure why AfroAmericans AREN'T making our own laws and swaying things. Who's fault is that? I know there are plenty of people behind the scenes pulling strings....but hell...mayors and congressmen do have SOME power or people would be lobbying them! If I give you and your men guns and badges and put you in charge of the security that housing complex across the street.....if it collapses into chaos and violence and lawlessness...who's fault is that? YALL had the power and authority to keep law and order and peace. Likewise, if AfroAmericans are in POSITIONS of power and authority and CHOOSE not to exert it or use it to RULE the land.....but instead merely use their positions to get their gall bladder removed, get their nails done, or get their kids into exclusive schools.....who's fault is that? You said Black folks can't make laws because they don't control anything. But I'm telling you even when you PUT many of our people in positions of authority where we CAN control things and re-write the laws....many of them still won't. Like I said, you can't make laws against STUPIDITY.
  21. Chev Perhaps the question should have been phrased differently; Which of the three would be would come first, POWER, KNOWLEDGE or BELIEF? Yes. Now that's a DIFFERENT question than the one Delano presented at the beginning of this thread. But even if you ask that question, I would say POWER comes first even before knowledge. Why? Because you need a certain amount of power to THINK. Power to hear, see, process and organize the information you receive into the knowledge that is thus acted upon. Delano Plus it could also be that power is a perception. The powerful can reward you or punish you. Which is only effective if you value what they can give or remove more than what you have inside. The powerful can also punish you with pain and incarceration....which doesn't rely on how much you value them or what they have to offer. In a fight technique and speed beat power. Bruce Lee Vs Chuck Norris. 1. Although all speed has a certain amount of power to it, in a fight speed (theoretically) with no power is near useless. A hummingbird flapping it's wings at so many beats per second can't overpower a hawk. 2. Using Bruce Lee is a poor example because he not only had speed but also had TREMENDOUS power!
  22. Yeah, they're kicking up dust in France right now....lol. This is because of two reasons: 1. The Blacks and Arabs of France are for the most part 1st and 2nd generation immigrants so they don't look at France as "theirs" and many don't mind destroying it. 2. Europeans in general don't tolerate police brutality as much as those in the U.S. who've become accustomed to it now. Back in 1992 the beating of Rodney King sparked riots that lasted for days. Back in the 60s police killings and raids set off riots as the people were so strong they found it intolerable. Today, so much of American society has become a police state and so many police killings have taken place that many Americans have become numb to it. Also, the mass incarceration and heavily medication of young men have also contributed to why there is less outrage in the U.S. over police brutality today than in the past. Europe hasn't practiced mass incarceration......yet....so a lot of energized youth still roam the streets.
  23. ProfD Come on man, now I gotta listen to me some HALL AND OATS......Smiiiiile Sarah That mindset is one of the reasons Africa is a mess. Africa is a mess for MANY reasons, but I don't believe that's one of them. One of the reasons Africa is a mess is because too many African nations and societies in general have maintained an old COLONIZER system of government that doesn't work for Black people in general because it goes against our very nature and genetics. When Africa ALLEGEDLY gained her independence she should have scrapped the old British and French systems of government with the damn wigs and shit and developed a BRAND NEW viable African based system of governing their nations. Another reason is that most of Africa is roughly divided between Christianity and Islam....two religions that came down to them from outside of the continent and was used by Europeans and Arabs to colonize the people mentally. Using moral and ethical codes that are UN-AFRICAN like celibacy, telling people that listening to music, dancing, or women showing their titties is "haraam" and sinful. This type of moral confusion leads to hypocrisy and conflict as one African Christian tries to "out European" the other.....one African Muslim tries to "out Arab" the other. And those who seem to act more like the European Christian or the Arab Muslim is often seen as "better" than the native African with leads to more frustration and low self esteem. Actually keeping it real and ADMITTING that as Black men we want plenty of money, plenty of women to have sex with, nice big homes, plenty of wealth and land....is better for us. Why? Because it's HONEST. Now we're starting off with HONESTY which is the foundation every lasting society should be built upon. It's another form of divide and conquer is to give a few a lot and let the rest fight over crumbs or starve to death. As human beings, we can do so much better. There's enough resources on this planet for everyone to have a great life. Sure there's ENOUGH resources on this planet for everyone to have a great life, but everyone won't because of many reasons. Some people are just too STUPID to accumulate and have the resources they need...does that mean others should do without? Some people are poor because of circumstances beyond their control, but a lot of people living in the ghetto, in the favelas down in Latin America, in the slums across Asia and Africa are in that condition because of DRUG ADDICTIONS and POOR FINANCIAL PRACTICES. Others are there because they WANT to be there......aren't driven enough to get out. Some are making money there doing a lot of underground things. Should ALL Black folks sacrifice themselves and remain poor and in the gutter because SOME or even MOST are poor? I don't know of any race on the planet where ALL the people of that group would choose to remain in poverty in order to show solidary with the many or even most in poverty. Even during the Holocaust....although many helped...rich Jews didn't sacrifice THEIR wealth to show solidarity with those suffering in Germany and Poland. You're not going to help EVERYBODY....you CAN'T help everybody. It's as plain as that. So if you can help ONE Black family at a time accumulate wealth and prosperity....seems to me that would be worth it. richardmurray I love your honesty to your stance, I am a communalist. I have always opposed a few from a group growing as acceptable. But I think your position is most efficient for the black community in the usa. Well I like to consider myself a PRAGMATIST. You do WHAT WORKS. Do the best you can with the tools you have at your disposal until better comes along. Ofcourse I would like for a MAJORITY of my people to be safe, successful, and living lavishly in prosperity! I would very much so like this! The question is, how will we get there? I don't think you get there by sentencing ALL Black folks to poverty and lack UNTIL enough money is generated to give ALL Black folks $10 million dollars and a mansion. That's not going to happen anytime soon. So what do we do in the mean time? I say enrich AS MANY Black folks as we can as best we can with what we have. As long as it's not taking away from other Black families....LET a Black family get rich, own land, build up a power base. As long as they keep it Black and in the family. Or would we rather White folks get the spot?
  24. I know a lot of them don't like or respect AfroAmericans, but it wasn't always that way. A lot of the division and distrust started in the 90s when elements of OUR community took a turn for the worst. I personally tend to get along with most Africans VERY well. Go to dinner with them, get invited over to their homes, even date the women from time to time. Some AfroAmericans.....one or two...say I get along with them because I constantly "run down" AfroAmericans to win over the approval of Africans. But that's not actually the case. I DO criticize my people with Africans....and Caribbeans....as I do with other AfroAmericans. But it's more of an EXPLANATION of why our people do what they do and act the way they act, so most Africans leave my presence with a much better understanding of our community and our history. As opposed to the treatment many of our people typically give them...which is to either ignore them, or sit there mean-mugging them and making an ugly face as they walk by. Fool...don't you know they are Black folks too and can pick up on YOUR vibe just like you can pick up on theirs???? It shows you how silly and childish and immature so many of our people are. Won't go over to a group of Africans and say GOOD MORNING and introduce yourself....and wait to see if they'll accept it or not. Just ASSUME they don't like you and harbor hatred for your own brothers and sisters....then spread rumors about them. This is OUR country....we are in positions of power and authority here and we need to ACT like it, not only with Africans but with ALL immigrants. People with good sense wouldn't put themselves on the same level as immigrants by arguing and fighting with them.
