This is the cover of the latest issue of Ebony. The adjoining opinion piece appears, apparently, in the same issue. I say apparently, as I have not received my issue yet; I found these images on their website. Much of the critique about Rachel is that she misrepresented herself as Black. We misrepresent ourselves as white every day of the week. The notion that we do not state that we are white, makes no difference. What we do, what we celebrate makes this quite plain. As an aside, two weeks ago I got the May issue. Yesterday, I got my June issue with the Father's Day buying guide?! Is anyone else getting their issues of Ebony magazine so late?

This aired on the Chris Rock show sometime between 1997 and 2000. It is interesting that back in 2000, then State Senator, Pastor Clementa Pinckney, who was murdered in the massacre at the Emanuel A.M.E. Church in Charleston, South Carolina, voted for the Confederate flag’s display at the Statehouse on May 3, 2000. Six of the seven black senators voted for the measure; one did not vote. Apparently, the vote was a compromise despite strong opposition by the NAACP.

While I shared and read this 16 thousand word article, I missed the attached video. I missed the video because I printed the article a read it offline. Sandra Bland is the latest casualty in the war between black motorists and white cops. This was a young white male who shot up a Black church. This mass murder has been labeled a "hate crime." There are many people who believe white folks are gearing up and initiating a race war. There are others who believe Christians are under assault and are being persecuted. #BlackTwitter is a blaze with jokes: "I'm not afraid of Al-Qaeda, I'm afraid of Al-Cracka" Needless to say it is a horrific event.

Google has digitized about a bazillion books (50 million+ at last count, if memory serves). One of the outcomes is the meta-data Google have amassed. Google has tons of metadata, including every word I'm tying now. Often they give people access to this stuff and you can do some pretty interesting things with it. Condi spoke at my kid's graduation on Saturday. It was as good, if not a better, than the speech Steve Jobs gave that everyone was creaming their pants over. Rice is an amazingly accomplished woman. This first time I saw this flag it was quite striking, blowing in the wind fully extended. It can be seen most easily on I-95 South near mile marker 134 or so, about 40 miles south of the Mason-Dixon Line. This Confederate Flag welcomes drivers on I-95 to the American South. The "flaggers" feel that our politically correct culture has falsely demonized this flag. That may be true. Today however the flag is not only a symbol of what was wrong with the South 150 years ago; it also symbolizes what is wrong with America today. I just upgraded Huria Search making it mobile friendly, adding back the social icons (Harriett Tubman had to go back to the plantation to save her people), cleaning up the look and making major changes on the backend. The database is growing and the quality of the content is improving. I just learned about this video reading an interview of Marc Polite on BMoreNews.com. It looks like Simmons published this video on his youtube channel back in 2013. Many people took offense to the video, ultimately resulted in Simmons having the video pulled. I was not aware of this video until today. This sister right here, Yvette Carnell of Breaking Brown is singing my song. Would you believe just moments before I watched this video I'd emailed the editor of the site http://breakingbrown.com/ to try to understand how they squared their mission with the all the crazy ads they were running. I could not image the trade off in what I viewed as integrity was worth whatever these ads would generate in terms of revenue. This in my mind is far worse that what Googles ads do.
