Standing on the threshold of 2014, one of my new year's resolutions is to keep in mind what a big joke life is and to, therefore, appreciate what good medicine laughter is. The list below, pilfered from FaceBook, cracked me up, because I relate to it. And it was such great relief from all of the platitudes and religious testimonies that saturate this site.

I grew up in a building that looked very much like the one shown in this animation. I clearly recall reasoning that Santa was fiction based upon the fact that we had no fire place from Santa to descend. The projects, however, actually do have chimneys. I guess I find it funny because it just epitomizes the absurdity of "high" fashion. But on a more practical matter these super high heeled shoes are simply bad for you. How many women have I seen, often overweight who have to pack a pair a flat shoes to wear home after attending an event in 5 inch heals... I'm glad men have no pressure to wear shoes that are just bad for your feet. The days of hammer toes from wearing pointy shoes are long gone. I generally try to stay in shape, and go to health clubs like Ballys or LA Fitness as the weather turns cold, and outdoor activity is less appealing. All of these clubs have large rooms where group classes are given, usually some newfangled version of aerobics requiring multicolored weights, rubber bands, giants balls, adjustable platforms, hula-hoops and what have you. First of all, I don't understand why in a society where people are PRESUMED innocent before being proven guilty in a court of law....why the media is allowed to post people's faces and names on television, in news papers, and on the computer even before they've offcially been charged and tried.
