  2. i have been following the coverage of Trump's controversial nominee for the Supreme Court. Observing the dramatic "he-said-she-said" testimonies of the woman accusing Trump's choice of sexual assault, and the denial of these charges by the accused, has been not only riveting but rather depressing. America is bordering on shambles. Dr. Christine Ford alleges that 30+ years ago, Brett Kavanaugh and his friend, Mark Judge, accosted her at a high school house party. She relates how a drunk Kavanaugh pulled her inside a bedroom where he pinned her down, tried to undress her, and nearly smothered her before she was able to get away and lock herself in a bathroom. Kavanaugh's denial of any such behavior was predictably indignant and enraged. His supporters are saying this is just a case of boys being boys, - kids who should not be held accountable for something that happened so long ago. An astounding number of women, however, have come forward in support of Christine Ford, saying that had similar experiences which scarred them for life, something insensitive Republican males have seemingly dismissed. With the exception of an occasional comparison to the sexual harassment charges Anita Hill brought against Clarence Thomas when he was up for his Supreme court confirmation, black people are almost on the fringes of this privileged white America family quarrel. I confess that i had no idea of how rampant situations like this were/are in this country. i have been luke warm about the "Me, too" movement, mostly drawing from my own experiences wherein i was always able to talk myself out of compromising situations, partly giving credit to the offending guys for eventually accepting that "no" meant "no." I shared similar stories with friends who, like me, prided ourselves in being strong enough to put fresh guys in their place. I also kinda wondered if, because black men are so devoted to their mommas that they are less inclined to react violently to having their wrists slapped. Not to mention them having a "miss one, catch another" mentality. I have also always regarded white women as being fragile and vulnerable because the esteemed status they hold in Society does not prepare them for being disrespected by boorish horny males and they cope with the trauma of rape, attempted or otherwise, by internalizing it and blaming themselves rather than speaking out. What I have become convinced of more than ever, are the paragons of power who have been completely corrupted by their power: rich white men, and sometimes even those who aren't wealthy but who just have a degree of authority! What is really telling about these titans who run and control the world, is how not only do they oppress people of color but how they dominate and control their women. Any attempt on the part of white women to exert themselves has typically been met with them being humiliated and humbled by white men. This is what spawned Feminism, the brain child of rebellious white women. My son told me how when he was in Atlanta a while back, he had an occasion to talk with an elderly white woman who told him that white men were the worst people on earth. Of course, this does not apply to all of them but there does seem to be evidence of this assessment in world history. During these current hearings, Republicans have been accusing Democrats of playing politics with this Supreme Court appointment, and Democrats are responding by saying this is not about partisanship but about a culture that looks the other way when males take unwanted sexual liberties with females, This is an issue Dems want to be addressed and condemned rather than rewarded with a life time position that has the potential to change the face of America. But, preferring to put their own interests over the good of the country, Republicans are eager to approve the nomination of a man of questionable character who embodies a right-wing conservative agenda and who has completely polarized the nation. How will it all end? Who knows. Winter is coming.

With Democrats like the Clintons, the Obamas, Joe Biden, Robert DeNiro, Eric Holder, Maxine Waters, the ex-CIA Director along with CNN all being recipients of mailed bombs, Trump has mounted his soap box and blamed the media for these threats to his enemies. He has totally absolved himself from any responsibility for the example he sets with the incendiary comments he posts on Twitter, - with whom he has a symbiotic relationship. All the Liberal pundits are warning that attacking The Press is a classic tactic of fascist dictators but 45 continues to scapegoat the media, all the while using Fox News to spread his unsubstantiated "facts". So, who is to blame for this Catch-22 situation that has polarized the nation? If 45 did not have an outlet for his bigotry, would the country be better off? If Trump supporters didn't have him as their cheer leader, would this make them less hate-filled? Should his vitriolic pep rallies not be aired on TV news programs? Are the masses entitled to see their despicable President in action? America is faced with a dilemma. The latest brouhaha has flared up with a stand taken by white Megan Kelly, 47, who hosts a morning talk show on NBC. She insisted that wearing black face is OK during Halloween because it's part of a costume, and she made matters worse by saying, there was nothing wrong with this when she was growing up. When employed at Fox News, she also stirred controversy by saying that Santa Claus and Jesus were white and should not be represented as anything else. She claims to dislike political correctness, a noteworthy statement in view of how 45's ratings are steadily rising. Now word has just been received that the future of her show is in jeopardy. So here we go again... Everybody is urging people to get out and vote. To me, there's no guarantee this will make things better for the Democrats. Thanks to the game Trump is refereeing, too many eligible voters are growing impatient with the race card always being played, I have said that, little-by-little, Trump will start to touch on issues that his detractors are in agreement with. One morning they're all going to wake up and regret not being careful about what they wished for.
  4. I saw clips from this show. The general conclusion about this 16-year-old was that she was afflicted with a disorder akin to an anorexic girl looking in the mirror and seeing a fat person. This did seem like a logical explanation because the very facial features she expressed hate for: thick lips, flat nose, gapped teeth, brown skin, were the ones she had, and her hair would've been "nappy" had it not been permed. The back story to this was that she had been raised to think she was bi-racial and that her white stepfather was her birth father. When he died and her black mother told her the truth, that her biological father was black, she went into a state of total denial exacerbated by post traumatic stress. After her white stepfather's death, she and her mother had to re-locate and are now living in a mostly-black neighborhood, and she completely rejects her black peers and has no friends. I didn't see what Dr. Phil recommended for her. She told him he didn't know what he was talking about, that she was white, and that black people were all ignorant and ugly and thuggish. 😲
  5. I guess Farrakhan's white daughter-in-law, prevented herself from being poor by marrying a nigga from a well-off family headed by a a purveyor of BS.. Anybody who doesn't think poor whites are poor because they are too intellectually challenged to capitalize off of the "leg-up" white skin provides them, also believes what Kanye says about slavery being a choice. Puleeze.
  6. @TroyWe need an outside arbitrator because i think you are guilty of the same things you accuse us of. Objectivity is in short supply here. Also, people don't realize how they come across when expressing themselves in writing. Maybe this communication problem has something to do with attitude which transcends words and settles itself in the spaces between them. i felt like you were talking down to us, "mansplaining" and seeming to shake your head at how silly you found our arguments to be. I also felt that your beef had more to do with your detesting the media than whether or not the condo guy's response was justified. You imply that labeling your position as an "opinion" absolves you from thinking it was "absolutely right". Tell me, who posts an opinion they don't think is absolutely right? When i twice suggested that we agree to disagree, you never went along with this, giving me the impression that you were reluctant to legitimize my argument by calling the debate a "draw". And, of course, this is a subjective conclusion on my part.

Phulese, more hyperventilation and overreacting to a social media fueled frenzy...yawn -- wake me when a bomb actually goes off. OK, before anyone "attacks" me know that I'm joking. I could not resist after coming from the other conversation about the "Key Fob" incident. Now this is serious... 45 is using Twitter as a platform to spread hate. As a matter of national security I'm beginning to think that a sitting president -- especially this one -- should not be allows to communicate with the public via Twitter. Greedy Corporation's who care more about money that they do about polarizing the nation. Yes, 45 has his hate filled rhetoric amplified in an unprecedented fashion. The real problem is his obvious lies go unchallenged and have become normalized -- an alternative truth. This is VERY dangerous. If 45 were not President people would be more likely to keep their racism to themselves. It is no longer politically incorrect to be openly racist. You have Twitter to thank for this. True voting may not make a difference as the process has been completely corrupted. I voted a few days ago, in Florida, by mail. I should be able to monitor my vote online. Hopefully well get a Dem in the Governor's office and allow felons who have paid their debt to society vote again. The results of both will be quite telling...
  8. Again you and Chevdove's confusion on this point is becoming irksome. I NEVER said my opinion was right. I said out the box neither you or I know what was in the woman's heart. We are all just giving opinions. What I have been rejecting is the reasoning for you too saying my opinion is wrong. I've been accused of favoring a white woman over a Black man which is ludicrous and not understanding overt racism... an you want to accuse me of ad hominem?! Maybe we some more testosterone in this debate because you two women take every disagreement I have on this issue as if I'm making a personal attack. While I'm not surprised that a relative newbie like @Chevdove would take my statements this way, I'm surprised that you are reacting this way. Again, I submit that maybe the reason is your perception of my supporting Miss Ann --- I dunno, you tell me why this particular issue struck nerve with you. Chedove, In my book just because something goes viral does not mean it is relevant or serves Black people very well. I'd argue much of what goes viral on social media, and our oversized attention it, does us more harm than good and only services the media companies that broadcast and agitate the situation. I'm glad you agree that losing a job over a minor altercation during personal time it an overreaction. I suspect she was fired because she. is not exactly a valued employee and they used the situation as an excuse. Your use of the work "Attack" Chevdove differs from mine. It seems it does not take much for you to call something an attack. As in the woman attacked the man in the lobby and I attacked you by expressing an opinion that disagrees with yours. These are not "attacks;" these are examines of hyperbole. I engage in hyperbole from time to time to emphasize a point, but I never actually believe my exaggerations.
  9. @Troy I am surprised at the the tone of your response to ChevDove's last post. Your dismissal of her argument bristled with indignation over your feeling of being misunderstood. But you have to take responsibility for some of this because you have been so uncompromising in your opinion. We have all conceded that there is some validity in your complaint about this incident being over played, but you haven't given an inch in your obstinate stance that you are absolutely right, a belief based on nothing more than your world view. I am equally surprised at how you overlapped into ad hominem territory. To me, the post below, quoting the man involved in this incident, shows him to be someone who does not fit into the "stupid" category in which you want to put him.
  10. @Troy Not this time. I supplied all the information to Lulu.com in 2006 and paid them a fee to prepare my title for global distribution. Recently, I provided this information for my memoir while using Pressbooks.com . That was my first direct experience with BISAC but I didn’t understand the significance until now. So, you are providing us independent authors a real service by sharing the importance.
  11. Well according to the stats over 53% of White women voted for Trump and support him. As far as I'm concerned he's a monsters THEY created. This has less to do with privilege and wealth and more to do with Caucasian women who unconditionally stand by and stick by eachother even against their own best interests.
  12. White women have said to me they are more scared if they are alone snd approached by a white man than a black man.
  13. They are trying to intimidate her! This absolutely reminds me of Anita Hill.
