  1. Reparations is an uphill climb because unlike the 1960s, there's no movement to demand it. If Civil Rights was a struggle, reparations will be a battle. The AfroAmerican community (ADOS/FBA) does not have enough leadership and coordination of resources to take on the fight. Many AfroAmericans have been anesthetized and distracted by access to higher places and/or gross consumerism within the system of racism white supremacy. Other AfroAmericans have simply given up hope believing that it's impossible or too hard. Then, there's the indifferent... Ask the average AfroAmerican if they are interested in fighting for reparations. Wait for their response....
  2. Bro, don't stop your bread (ad revenue) over a hiccup.
  3. Therein lies the difference. We know the GOP isn't down wirh us. Makes no sense to grumble and complain about them. Democrats bend over backwards getting Black folks to vote for them and want to insult those who don't follow the program. In the meantime, neither party is doing anything specifically to help Black folks. But, in one way or another, both political parties are rolling out the red carpet for illegal immigrants and creating sanctuary cities to house, clothe and feed them. Then, there's Ukraine. Again, both parties are united in providing billions of dollars to a country in a proxy war they cannot win. That's why I'll keep saying the political parties are two sides of the same coin especially when it comes to maintaining the system of racism white supremacy. Black folks are useful tools to politicians...but expendable.
  4. Brotha Tyrone Muhammad is tracking it in the right direction. I'm glad he put that 21 years to good use in strengthening his mental muscle. Also, I'm in agreement with brotha Muhammad's position on the topics they covered. Shout out to brotha Phil for giving him the platform to launch. I'm also glad the new Black MBlack exists to show there are AfroAmericans who do understand the system of racism white supremacy and how it works. Black folks are still enslaved with invisible chains on every level (mental, physical, spiritual, financial, etc.).
  5. Yep. Even when they kill each other i.e. war, they're still on code when it comes to maintaining the system of racism white supremacy. The US provides financial aid and assistance to frienemies foreign and domestic all over the planet.
  6. Europeans definitely aren't interested in helping African countries. On some straight up pimp sh8t, France is threatening military action against Niger if they can't continue getting Uranium. Meanwhile, Niger doesn't have enough electricity to keep its citizens from sitting in the dark at night. Imagine what Niger could do with that Uranium if France wasn't jacking it.
  7. @Cynique, Happy 90th b'day. Congrats on the milestone especially considering you look/appear to be in good health. We know the peanut gallery keeps your mind, er, tongue sharp. As always, thanks for checking in instead of checking out.
  8. Due to police negligence, a mistrial has been declared in two white men shooting at a Black FedEx driver: https://www.npr.org/2023/08/17/1194548408/mississippi-judge-declares-mistrial-in-shooting-attack-on-black-fedex-driver While it's no surprise especially in the state of Mississippi, it's indicative of the racism and white privilege that still exists all over this country. Clearly, the white folks in Mississippi are totally on code in protecting their own. The body language of the two white defendants (father & son) shows they never feared losing their freedom. This situation could have been another case of Ahmaud Arbery. Fortunately, the young man, D’Monterrio Gibson is still alive. Black folks have to get on code and do a better job of protecting our own by every means necessary. We cannot afford to wait for another Black vvictimto be killed by white folks and the only thing we can do is hashtags and T-shirts with pictures and platitudes.
  9. I think the bulk of the saber-rattling comes down to NOT wanting to be imperialized. Lil Kim Jong bust off shots just to let the West know he's not going to let his country lay down. I don't believe he's silly enough to start a war. The US would destroy that country in 2-3 days.
  10. Politicians seeking the highest office in the land (President) also fan the flames of racism too. The former POTUS (Orange Julius) could single-handedly plunge the country into a civil war. GOP candidate MoRon DeStupid is on a crusade to socially bankrupt the state of Florida. One can only imagine what he'd do as POTUS. GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy aka Ramen Noodles wants to roll the country back at least 100 years. Listening to Ramen Noodles' anti-Black and racist positions should put all Black folks on notice. These potential leaders use a lot of misinformation to stir up their racist base.
  11. Right. With 1 billion mouths, no need for China to bite the Western hand that feeds them.
  12. Yessah. That's some old skool shiggity right there. Gimme some skin on the black hand side blood.
  13. We cannot fix the past. IMO, Black parents are doing their best to raise children within a prison of racism white supremacy. There are many Black folks who would beg to differ with your opinion of failure and a dysfunctional heritage. Especially those who've managed to become successful within the confines of a prison system.
  14. @Pioneer1, I read the quote from brotha Malcolm X. I still think white folks are given way to much credit when it comes to intelligence. Everything white folks discover has been stolen from Black folks. Black folks are the original. I just don't think we've been around for trillions of years. IOW, I don't want to believe this is all of the progress we've made. I dont want to think we're in the midst of de-evolution.
  15. @richardmurray, I'm not evading the point. I seriously doubt the Rabbis and priests they're grooming these white boys to be cannot read and write. More importantly, this Jewish children story is immaterial to the plight of Black children. Jews can take care of their own. I cannot speak for immigrant Black folks but AfroAmerican children specifically cannot afford to not be able read and write. The future of an AfroAmerican child is dependent on his/her ability to communicate both oral and written. To the best of our abilities, AfroAmericans provide children with food, clothing, shelter and love. The essential ingredients for them to survive, thrive and flourish. So, you are correct, me and every other AfroAmerican adult has a responsibility to encourage our young people to learn as much as they can because it's their only means of survival within the system of racism white supremacy.
  16. The war is political. Unfortunately, real lives are being lost. However, when considering these are white folks killing each other for nothing, it's not hard to imagine how easily they would kill non-white folks for less.
  17. @richardmurray, context is everything. From the article, 99% of thousands of boys from 30 Hasidic schools grades 3 through 8 failed standardized tests. There's a reason for it. The Hasidic school curriculum places very little emphasis on secular subject matter (English, math, science, etc.). In other words, these boys are being taught more about religion than anything else. It's not that the Hasidic students cannot read and write. They don't perform well on standardized tests because that isn't their core curriculum. Other religious-affiliated schools, performed much more like public schools, where nearly 50% of students passed. It can be argued that New York state government should not be giving Hasidic schools $1 billion in government funding. Let's see how well it goes for the politicians who try to enforce keep funding from Jewish schools. Somebody won't be getting re-elected. Surely, it would be awesome if Black folks started their own private schools and lobbied for their $1 billion dollars to educate future generations of young people.
  18. @Pioneer1, as you already know, I don't *believe* human beings really know 1) how they were created nor 2) how long they've been around. *I* would only give human beings several thousands of years pf existence considering the rate at which we've evolved. If human beings have been around for millions, billions or trillions of years, I wouldn't brag about it because that would make our evolution as a species kinda pathetic. Otherwise, *I don't know* the answer to that question.
  19. I know I'm on old man now. But, I remember when AfroAmericans folks took pride in making up their own dances. The people who could really cut a rug i.e. dance very well were stars of the dance floor. I guess somebody got the idea from square-dancing to come up with line dancing. No sense of rhythm or style required. The line dances are cool. It's the easiest way to get everyone out on the floor. Thankfully, many AfroAmericans still know how to really dance too. We still see real dance from folks like Usher, Chris Brown and Beyoncé to name a few.
  20. White folks are replacing *functional* AfroAmericans with tethers and immigrants too.
  21. Hold up bro... 1) Humans haven't been around for billions of years 2) Black folks must have been cursed like a mf'er to go from flying vehicles to end up in slavery 3) We must have regressed like h8ll mentally considering not only aren't we flying vehicles but we're hardly building infrastructure of any kind. 4) Some African countries have poor electricity, unpaved roads and weak sanitation systems, etc. Black folks can take credit for many things. I wouldn't bet on flying vehicles for billions or trillions of years though.
  22. What you all are seeing could be the result of ad-blocking or computer security software. Ads are a necessary part of the business when it comes to running a free website. If we don't want to see ads or little boxes or whatever, we could contribute money to help brotha @Troy maintain the site.
  23. Back in the 1970s, folks like Oscar Brown Jr., Nikki Giovanni and most well known, Gil Scott-Heron were basically doing what we consider today...Rapping. The Last Poets could be considered the 1st Rap group. Rap became one of the elements of Hip-Hop. The real skinny is that every generation likes to pretend no vulgar records were made on their watch. The 1970s, I present exhibit A....Millie Jackson. But, it's not about shaming ourselves for the artistic choices we make. Again, it's no different Hollywood. Black folks should not be throwing shade at themselves for producing vulgar music. It's an entertaining aspect of sh8t folks were already doing in every day life. As someone who grew up in the inner city, I know for a fact that music had nothing to do with folks getting into prostitution, drug dealing, gangs, murder, etc. If Black folks were going to be ashamed of anything, they wouldn't have been pimps, hoes, gangsters, etc., way before it was set to music. Again, Black folks should be more ashamed of the fact that we don't fully control and own out intellectual property i.e. music .
  24. Like every other artform, when it comes to music, the McDonald's version of it will be pushed to the consumers. Every form of music that is lacking nutritional value (mentally) usually sells like hotcakes. Rock & Roll music is 3 chords and garbage lyrics. Millions of records sold. Most R&B music is based on 2-4 chord progressions and lyrics. Millions of records sold. Music that is more complicated harmonically and/or requires folks to actually listen to the lyrics and think is a harder sell. The 1990s through early 2000s glamorized and glorified gangsta rap and blinging out. Millions of records sold. Yet, there were still artists like KAM, Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Bahamadia, Ras Kass, Immortal Technique and many others who were conscience in their lyricism. Most folks have probably only heard of 2 or 3 of the aforementioned. More than likely, Common is one of them because he's an actor nowadays. The music industry does not promote music that is positive and conscience. Listeners have to dig for it. Like Jazz, the music is often an acquired taste. But again, like every other style of music, there's artistic license of freedom and expression. Think Hollywood. Black folks should not have to shy away from gangsta rap or Trap music or negative imagery music if that is their bag. We just have to do a better job of ownership and hiding it if necessary....like they did with those Redd Fox, Richard Pryor and Blowfly records back in the day.
  25. Blacks folks were doing dysfunctional sh8t way before somebody looped a beat and rapped about it. Hip-Hop music isn't responsible for prostitution, drug epidemic or the murder rate. Interestingly, nobody complains about Hollywood glamorizing and glorifying negative themes and images. Seems there is a white vigilante movie every 2-3 years. John Wick has killed hundreds of people over 4 movies. Black artists and musicians found an entertaining way to capitalize on the negativity within our communities and turned it into a multibillion dollar industry. Unfortunately, Black folks do not control the power and resources behind that industry. They have zero say in how the dominant society pushes the music and narratives. Once white folks have extracted as much money as they want out of Black folks, they either destroy or throw them away. There's no shortage of Black folks who are complicit in our own demise for loose change. Black folks have to get on code and do a better job of controlling our intellectual property and our narratives. At some point, Black folks have to stop selling out to the dominant society. Otherwise, music, TV and film fall under the category of entertainment. It should filtered and consumed accordingly.
