  1. The 1980s never went out of style with some people.
  2. Rant against Somalis stems from them stealing government funds by funneling through charities.
  3. The Williams sisters have played tennis all over the world. Easy to find if those dudes if they are attracted. No shortage of them in Cali.
  4. POTUS OJ calls Somalis 'garbage', disparages their home country and says the people who've made it to the US stole billions of dollars and do nothing but 'b*tch' and complain. He even called Rep. Ilhan Omar garbage too. Of course, the current administration is threatening to send ICE to Minneapolis to round up Somalis. I'm curious to see if the Somalis speak up in defense of themselves and/or will go back to fix up their home country.
  5. Brotha Neil deGrasse Tyson drops excellent points to consider when it comes to gathering information. Therein lies the slippery slope. Common sense isn't a shared trait among people. Most people are surface level thinkers. They aren't going dig too deeply into much of anything. Just enough to get what they *need* in order to maneuver through life. I go back to those bibles folks like to carry around. Very few believers have read it thoroughly from cover to cover. The most powerful people on the planet thrive on those who don't *know* any better. information and knowledge can be hidden in plain sight like a $100 bill.
  6. True. One has to put in work. The Nobel committee would argue that POTUS Obama earned the prize because achieved peace through strength. Some people believe in violence and killing as a solution to *problems*. The US is blowing up nuclear facilities, financing wars in other countries and sinking boats in international waters. if the Russia-Ukraine conflict ends, along with the Israel-Palestinian cease-fire, the azz POTUS OJ could end up with a Nobel Peace Prize despite killing folks directly and indirectly.
  7. Right. Open-minded people are willing to accept new ideas that challenge their existing beliefs. Absolutely. Cannot have a forum or healthy dialog, debate or exchange of information, opinions and ideas without it. Right. The point is to share information, opinions and ideas that could challenge or change pre-existing beliefs. It's up to the individual to receive/accept it. There's no shortage of sources to cross reference facts. It takes some effort. I believe AI will make compiling data easier. How people choose to use the information and knowledge ties back to our discussion here.
  8. https://www.newsweek.com/alexis-lewis-cory-booker-wedding-engagement-11131741 Senator Cory Booker has traded his bachelor card for a wedding ring. Senator Booker married Alexis Lewis after a couple months of dating. Years ago, while running for democratic nominee for POTUS, Senator Booker was supposedly dating Rosario Dawson. Senator Booker dropped out of the race for POTUS and dumped Ms. Dawson shortly afterwards. He has not been linked to another woman. Fast-forward to this past weekend and all of a sudden, he's married now. Even in his wedding pics something isn't right about him. He's holding her hand like they're acting. I still believe this fella is ghey right along with Senator Lindsey 'Ms. Thing' Graham. I have zero proof or insider knowledge of how these cats roll. However, I would not be surprised if we find out they have lifetime memberships at the Blue Oyster.
  9. As people get older, they become more rigid in their beliefs and positions. IMO, the objective should not be to convince people to change their way of thinking. Presenting evidence and proof merely reinforces or substantiates claims of the person making the case or argument. When done effectively, sometimes a person might change their mind after being presented with enough evidence and proof i.e. facts. Otherwise, there's a saying about old dogs and new tricks.
  10. Universal healthcare won't happen in a country built on capitalism. Money controls politicians. Sure. Big pharma and medical industry lobbyists wrote the legislation.
  11. I was never a huge fan of Church's chicken back in the day. I preferred Bojangles. Roy Rogers was decent too. We had a place called Holly Farms that was better than all of them. Their potato wedges were the bomb. As Minnie Riperton sang...y'all done took me back down memory lane.
  12. I'm writing that money cannot be ruled out especially when folks want to *win* badly enough. For example, honorary degrees are given to people who donate enough money to colleges and universities. Otherwise, I'd like to believe folks are *earning* the accolades, awards, titles, etc., bestowed upon them.
  13. Jews can buy Nobel prizes and sports teams. Ownership.
  14. When the mid-term elections roll around, Democrats are hoping the American people will remember 1) government shutdown, 2) skyrocketing insurance premiums, 3) economy and 4) everything else the current administration has done. In the absence of a plan for how they are going to make life better for Americans, Democrats are hoping the Republicans implode under their own negative weight.
  15. Same here. I've got several chicken spots that I would hit before I pull into a KFC. Also, while other chicken parts look suspect at KFC, wings cannot be faked...yet.
  16. That's why Democrats chose to let the government shutdown. They knew premiums would increase especially under the big beautiful bill.
  17. Harlan Sanders was never in the military. He was actually from Indiana. As a successful pitch man and businessman, Sanders inherited the Colonel title. Kentucky Fried Chicken aka KFC just happened to be his ticket to fame and fortune.
  18. @aka Contrarian, nothing has changed since the beginning of time. During slavery, white slaveowners would use the biggest Black men as bucks to breed more slave babies. Those same bucks were broken, raped in front of everyone as an example to keep other slaves in check. Powerless. Right. Unfortunately, in the absence of power and money, some men are reduced to using assets to make them feel better about themselves with the lowest being their manhood. In fact, the most non-athletic, no contact sport between some men is the proverbial p*ssing contest. The consternation over the male member comes up in power settings where folks will say is this a measuring contest or women will say just because I don't have...isn't weakness. Of course, the human phallus or likeness has showed up in art, images and construction for ages. Funny thing is NO man can measure himself against a horse. Not even close.
  19. Fine. Have it your way Aintee Contrarian. Da Bears are rolling this season. Fanbase has to be pleasantly surprised and happy with their football team and 1st year head coach.
  20. As @Pioneer1 mentions below, the Black 1% may have been chosen or allowed to prosper because they aren't interested in leading or pro-Black endeavors or investments. No shortage of showcasing among Black folks.
  21. Considering his age, I would guess it was navy beans. Of course, we also had kidney beans, pinto beans, northern beans, black-eyed peas, etc. Reminds me of Bubba naming shrimp in the Forrest Gump movie. *Care mate* makes more sense than *significant other* or *old lady* especially when a couple is over 80 years old. Brotha @frankster pops in and out like a boxer.
  22. I heard the same thing. No smoking or drinking and plenty beans for NF Jr. Oftentimes, beans include turkey, pork or beef. Beans are a excellent source of protein and fiber. Along with veggies that is a healthy diet.
  23. Right. Black farmers decreased instead of increased fdom that time forward. Generations of Black folks have been raised consuming food that is produced by others. Processed foods are even worse. Many Americans are vegetarian or vegan but the vast majoirty of us are carnivores. Admittedly, I could be a pescatarian if it wasn't for that barn yard pimp...chicken. While NF Jr. lived into his 90s, I'm willing to bet he didn't grow his own food and he bought it from the grocery store instead of farmer's markets.
  24. As the late Senator John McCain once said on the campaign trail when a woman tried to character assassinate POTUS Obama, "no...we're not going to do that...(s)he's a decent person". Just as you are my virtual brotha, the person to whom you're referring is my virtual sista too. I still claim her in spite of accusing me of being misogynistic and a Black supremacist and delusional as it relates to what Black folks should do under the system of racism whte supremacy. Regardless of whether or not we agree on anything or disagree on everything and any debate in between, we're AALBC virtual family. Like siblings, we have to be prepared to roll with or take the punches as good as we give them.
  25. @Pioneer1 and @aka Contrarian...whether you all ever agree or not, the back and forth dialog between you two is worth the price of admission. I certainly enjoy reading it. Your contributions keep the forum going especially since fewer folks post compared to a few years ago.
