But will his self-esteem....lol. You know how some shit that happens to you as a child has a way of haunting some people even into adulthood. What do you think happened to THIS self-hating clown that made him act the way he does towards Black youth...lol.

Troy OK since you reject the fact: The science has already shown that race as a result of genetics do not exist.... Who said I rejected this? The fact is.... While some "science" may show that there is no genetic basis for race; other references like the dictionary DO. Check out this definition of Race: An official definition of race from an accepted source clearly states there is a biological and genetic bases for racial categorization.

Neither one. He's BEEN expired. .....come on bro, go get a late pass....lol. -
No, they are....lol. But barbers are so plentiful now that very few kids HAVE jacked-up hair cuts. ...or what they used to call a "Timmy" or "looking busted" when I was a kid, lol. It's rare to find that now because even the poorest kid can afford a fade and a lot of them are growing dreadlocks. If you walk down the street with a jacked up hair line and hair cut today you're assumed to be an African who just came here a few weeks ago....lol.

Troy So because of a poorly constructed system we should throw out the entire concept? Talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water, lol. I support racial categories but I don't agree with the one drop rule either. Guess what? I believe we as AfroAmericans have a right to devise OUR OWN racial categories to suit our perspectives and how we see society and the world around us. -
Race: Cambridge Dictionary Definition
Pioneer1 replied to Pioneer1's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
That's not THE point....that's A point....that you and frankser like to focus on. Since you can no longer say that race or different races "don't exist"....because I've provided the clear definition that they do as well as multiple scientific articles proving that they do and are accepted...now yall resort to simply calling it a "social construct" not based in science. You can call it a "social construct" all day long. I'll give you that. But it still exists....and that's MY point. -
Troy Again, who said I disagreed with ANY of the above statements you're quoting from him? You're cherry picking certain statements that YOU agree with and asking me do I agree with or disagree with them; but those statements aren't the point of contention between me and frankster. But if you're trying to start some shit....let me throw you a bone. The only one of those statements that MAY be considered a point I'd disagree on is the first one about race as a result of genetics not existing. Race is a category that can be based on many different things, physical traits...which are genetic...are one of those things race CAN be based on. This has already been established. But the flip side is you can base it on things OTHER than genetics, at which genetics would play no role.

He HAS a father in his life, but he's in the "belly of the beast". The closest he has to a father right now is his grandfather....my brother. She's got a White boyfriend (here we go again...lol) that she met in church and he convinced her that race doesn't matter and giving her jacked up advice about a lot of things but she listens to him. Now the boy is running around with his head looking like barbed wire with an unblended fade. AND he goes to a mostly Black school....so you know he's being clowned on, lol.

Troy @Pioneer1 what specifically in the quoted statement you disagree with? Who said I disagreed with ANY of those statements?

Troy No problem, I'll just delete it. The problem is there is no way to do this objectively. Why not? What's stopping you or I...in most cases...from clearly pointing out and drawing a distinction between a White person and Black person. Sometimes there is ambiguity...we understand this. But most times there isn't and the distinction is clear. Same with sex. Sometimes it's hard to distinguish an actual man from an actual woman, but most times it's crystal clear. Sure, but you can't do this based upon how one looks. Again, MOST TIMES...you can. Not all the time, but for the most part. -
ProfD Agreed. I attended both Million Man Marches. They were excellent gatherings of Black men. I don't know about the subsequent ones but the first one was a truly historic event. I didn't go by myself but with a group of brothers of different religions and backgrounds from the Detroit area. That movie "Get On The Bus" by Spike Lee came very close to how it felt traveling to the event. I didn't see one fight. Not one argument. If you heard a lot of noise or commotion going on it was bruthaz having a good time laughing loud or maybe the FOI drilling and marching but no hostility what so ever. And I was there all day! There were different designated spots around the city where the busses were scheduled to leave from and arrive back to. When we got back to the city there were people of all ages but mostly women crowded around in these different spots to welcome us back and cheer us as we stepped off the bus. The media was also there doing interviews and videos. It was truly beautiful. They said we were "glowing" when we got back...lol. Troy I don't recall reading anything they have written indicating that. Neither ProfD nor myself are but there are a lot of people under 60 and especially under 40 who actually are all over the internet criticizing the Civil Rights Movement and even the Civil Rights Generation. Much of it comes from ignorance and ingratitude. Like a lot of spoiled children, they talk a lot of shit because they ain't been through anything. They didn't grow up under open White hostility and racism so as far as they're concerned...it's something of the distant past akin to Slavery itself. I got into an argument with a niece of mine a few weeks ago because she didn't like how me and my brother sat up and talked about White people. She said it was "racist". It started over us warning her not to take her son to a White barber because he'll fuck up his hair. She didn't want to listen and he did...lol.

Well, the fact is White people...aka Contr I mean....uh....aka Caucasians....lol....will know who THEY are and know who AREN'T one of them regardless as to the terms we choose to use or how we choose to categorize ourselves. Race and PROPER racial classifications clarify things and makes them easier and less deceptive in my opinion. When I talk to people from nations where racial classification is almost non-existent between the people and the races are highly mixed and ambiguous like in Cuba and Somalia....there's a lot mistreatment and a lot of confusion and frustration as a result of it. People often ARE victims of racism and colorism but can't express or articulate this because officially...."everybody's Cuban". I see this at work. A lot of Black Latinos aren't getting respect from the lighter Meztizo Latinos...but they don't see themselves the same as AfroAmericans either so they don't know what to do with themselves. Dark skinned kinky haired Somalis are often oppressed by light skinned Somalis with curly hair who look mixed with Arab.....but since everybody there is "Somali" they can't call it racism. So now....what do you call it? Tribalism? Although much of it IS raced based indirectly because it's about who is closer to White folks. Even a lot of ethnic conflicts is really race based. In Rwanda...it was said that the Tutsis were closer to the "White race" than the Hutus...which lead to conflict. I like the idea of being able to separate White people and identify them. I also like the idea of being able to separate Black/African people and identify ourselves from other groups and then being able to separate my ethnicity as an FBA/ADOS from the rest of Africans when need be and focus on our own local issues. Some people are more analytical and detail oriented than others, so racial classification is right up their alley...so to speak, lol. -
Here you said you don't accept the idea of race....period. You didn't specify in this case. However in other cases you DID specify your acceptance of it as a social construct. Then you turn around and declare there is only on race and tie genetics and biology to it after denying it's genetic and biological component...lol. First note it is an Action Ok? Sexism is an action....like Racism. You are actively DO, or SAYING, or THINKING something to or about someone else. Now what's your point? Now you're muddying the waters here.... I said: He's hated because of his sexual ORIENTATION...being gay. You said: But he is still a man...thats hated by other men - that is same sex hate I said: But that's not sexism. You said: Yes it is....he is not fulfilling his social role. Refering to this definition: Sexual orientation is NOT about your "social role" but who you PREFER to have sex with, regardless of what you actually do. Acting like a woman and having sex with another man are behaviors that are disliked...true. They are NOT the traditional social role of a man...true. However if a man doesn't act like a woman and doesn't have sex at all...if he's known to be a homosexual he will still be disliked under homophobia. Why? Because the focus is on the man's orientation/preference. So he is a victim of homophobia but not not necessarily sexism because his behavior is irrelevant once his sexual preference is known.

frankster It is serious....they published it in pubmed Again, the term was meant to be taken figuratively which is why they put "little brain" in quotes. And YOU know this too, which is why you said: Yes that is why it is a brain.....because it has neurons like what's in the brain. You didn't say: "like what's in the OTHER brain". You didn't draw a distinction; because you recognized that in actuality the human body only has ONE brain. In some ways it acts and function like the brain....hence it's called "little brain" Ok, now look at what you just said (typed...lol) In some ways it acts and functions like THE brain. You yourself know it's not THE brain or even A brain, but just something similar or kind of like one. Other parts with groups of neurons that may act as control mechanism may simulate certain aspects of the brain but it's not the same as THE brain. It doesn't govern sight, smell, taste, or have a spinal cord attached to it. It doesn't have a Pineal gland. ...because it's not actually a brain. See you around... Aight den....holla.

ICE Raids Lead to Protests in Los Angeles

Troy The short answer is I really don’t know Ok, well was it in the hundreds or thousands? If not, then it doesn't compare to what Minister Farrakhan has done for decades. So he deserves credit for that much. The million man March was a long time ago and you’d be hard pressed to find anything that’s come of it that has lasted until today. The fact that he could bring over a million Black men together in one place at one time and not only give them a positive message but there were absolutely NO reports of fights or violence at that event is "miraculous" in my opinion. I was there and witnessed how beautiful the event was for myself. For that event alone, he deserves praise and honor. I'm not saying he's perfect, but I honor him for the positive impact he's had on our community since the 50s. ProfD Unlike the Nation of Islam resurrection under the leadership of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, I doubt the organization will ever be as strong or relevant after him. Sometimes the "conditions" produce the man. One of the reasons the Nation of Islam, Black Panthers, and other powerful Black organizations aren't as prominent in America or even the Black community today is for 2 major reasons: 1. So-called Integration. There isn't a "Black community" like it was before so they don't have the audience they had to preach to and motivate into action. But social media and the internet seems to be bringing our community BACK together in many ways; especially the FBA movement. 2. They did their jobs so well that White people are less OPENLY hostile as they were in the past. Organizations like the Nation of Islam and the Black Panthers scared the shit out of the average White person to the point that they stopped being openly hostile. But once this stopped happening....a lot of the organizations became less aggressive as well. The Nation of Islam under the Honorable Elijah Muhammad was far more strict and aggressive than under Minister Farrakhan because the racism at that time was far more harsh and open. The conditions often produce the men necessary to deal with them. But don't worry, Trump may bring the "conditions" back....lol.

“There is no such thing as a race.” —Dr. John Henrik Clarke
Pioneer1 replied to Troy's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
ProfD Dr. Clarke didn't contradict himself. He started out with humans being one race. Then, he explained how race and racial classifications were created (defined) in relation to the construction of white supremacy. -He said there was NO SUCH THING as race -Then he said races were CREATED by man That is a CLEAR contradiction. You can't say there is no such thing as something that was created into existence. Infact, our brother and elder scholar was also mistaken in claiming that racism started in the 15th century in Europe. Anti-Black racism was establish loooooong before that time. We can read stories of how Black people were treated in early Arabia: Bilal was a black slave from Habasha, Modern day Ethiopia. A son of an Arab father and an Ethiopian mother. His mother was an Ethiopian princess who was forced into slavery and got married to another slave. Bilal was born in Mecca. Due to its prevalent injustices including racial injustice, the period before the coming of Islam is called Jahiliyyah (a period of ignorance) in Arabia. Racism was one of the first priorities that Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him — PBUH) stood against. They would make him face the idols, shouting worship the idol, ‘you son of a black woman’. Bilal persists and would not abide. Umayyah then put a collar on him and dragged him, while mocking him, through the public to the desert. There is an occasion where one of the Prophet Mohammad’s companions calls Bilal, ‘oh you son of a black woman’. The Prophet Mohammad’s rebuttal to this attitude was swift. Before passing away in 632 A.D, the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) gave his last sermon. In this speech he condemned racism. He said: From Slave to Master: The Story of Bilal the Unbreakable | by Pashew Nuri | Know Thyself, Heal Thyself | Medium This was over 1,400 years ago in Arabia. Obviously much earlier than the 15th century. And they were dealing with anti-Black racism even back then. Troy Pioneer what does the fact that there can't be a genetic test for race tell you? Can you answer that question? It tells me that we don't need one. It's simply a way to classify people with differences that already exist. Do you need a "genetic test" to decided the different flavors of ice cream or colors of crayons? -
aka Contrarian What does any of that have to do with Farrakhan being extraordinary? It just proves he can't perform miracles. Who said anything about him being a "miracle performer"? Raising the bar a bit...aren't we...lol. Very few people who've listened to Minister Farrakhan...even his critics...would doubt that he's gifted and extrodinary if only in his oratory skills. It doesn't take anything special to tell people to do what's best for themselves. Yes, anyone can sit up and TELL others what to do. But to get large numbers of them to actually DO it...actually is noteworthy. Perhaps not as many as you (or I) would like, but by the thousands is pretty remarkable. Troy Pioneer, have you ever raised kids? I've helped...yes. And I'm still helping to raise some...lol. The reason I ask is because what you've described is what the vast majority of us have done for all of recorded history -- without giving up bacon How many children have you gotten out of and kept out of prison? How many children where part of gangs that you've rescued? How many children have you gotten off of and kept off of drugs? Let' compare your, my, and Cynique's numbers COMBINED....with Farrakhan's numbers.

If that were true.....IF....that were true....again....WHO'S FAULT IS THAT???? It's right there on the package that smoking cigarettes is bad for your health and can cause harm. It's right there! Yet many people STILL ignore it and smoke the shit anyway....and end up paying for it. Who's fault is that? Is it the fault of the surgeon general??? Was the surgeon general not effective enough or was their message too "mundane" to be heeded by the people? Or was it that some people are just too damn STUPID to accept a clear message being given to them and have to learn things the hard way....if they learn at all?

Now...whether she wants to ADMIT it or not...I think Cynique actually agrees with ME on how race is defined. It was a while back, but if I recall correctly..... We were all having a conversation and the issue of race came up and her position was similar to mine UNTIL she found out what my position was and what yours (Troy) was, then she started talking about how she was "reconsidering" her beliefs on race or something like that....lol. -
Chicago. Gangster. Trump. Pardons
Pioneer1 replied to harry brown's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
ProfD Sure. I'm referring to the death penalty being carried out after a *fair* trial. Folks shouldn't be stretched out on death row for 30 years. That's no different from a life sentence. What's really jacked up is in some countries like Japan, they don't even tell people WHEN they're going to execute them. They'll put somebody on death row and they don't know if they're going to be executed in a few days or not for a few years. They simply don't know....until a day or two before the execution. The psychological torture. Right. Chopping off hands for thieves and genitals for rapists would be a strong deterrent too. No need to lock them up. But I can't stress strongly enough that we need to make sure that the offender is truly guilty of their crime. There shouldn't be a lot of room for error or racial bias. -
We knew that was coming. Trump is a narcissist and can't stand for ANYBODY to get more attention, more praise, or more limelight than him. When Musk started getting more press time and people started calling HIM the "brains" (figuratively speaking @frankster...not literally...lol) of the Whitehouse, Trump already had an exit plan plan waiting for him. It's the same during his first administration with that Anthony Scaramucci dude who Trump appointed to some position. As soon as he started showing up in tailor made suits, shades, and started doing press conferences showing a bit of flash and charisma...Trump had security PERSONALLY escort his ass out of Whitehouse and off the property...never to return, lol.
-
Well..... Can YOU call for a Million Black men or women to meet YOU in Washington D.C.....and they actually show up? How many people do you KNOW who can do this? If he was able to do this and there was "nothing extraordinary" about him, what does that say about you and the others who couldn't call up a million FLIES to meet up in one place....let alone a million Black men?
-
Troy What question do you have that is so volatile...lol...that the answer would "violate" my reasoning? frankster Only as social constructs....not genetically So? You once rejected THAT...now you accept it. So we're making SOME progress, lol. Even Your dictionary and link agrees with me....it is not biology but social. If the dictionary agreed with YOU...the word "race" wouldn't be even IN it, lol. Social Constructs are relative and temporary and not valid or true in all places and all the times Well the social constructs of today are true for THIS time in THIS place. I ask you first... then I will give you mine Rather than giving you MY definition, how about I give you THE definition: Orientation is an act or process....hence behavior. look it up. I did. And it turns out that you're WRONG...as is often the case, lol. The actual definition of orientation is: If you're still DIS-ORIENTED about the true meaning of "orientation", let me know...lol. But he is still a man...thats hated by other men - that is same sex hate But that's not sexism. You can run but you cannot hide or getaway.....lol Why would I want to run or hide or getaway from someone who obviously needs HELP...lol. I'm here for my dis-oriented brother. I wander why - you running but you can't getaway from the truth I KNOW why. You wander because you are dis-oriented...LOL. But we'll help you get on the right track and find your way back to where you need to be.
