Trouble T-Roy Man, thank you for that wonderful jam!!! I was wondering what Cube got some of his samples from. You're a little older than I am so when you hear those 90s Hiphop songs and their samples you can pinpoint the ORIGINAL songs they were sampled from more accurately. Sly's song was more uplifting and inspiring. Certainly more uplifting than feeling things were so bad that he wished his father would have shot his sperm on the mattress instead of in his mother....lol. You didn't see the amount of destitution and depression and hopelessness among the artists of the 60s and 70s that you started seeing among the artists of the 90s and certainly not like today. But this illustrates another issue that I've been seeing over the decades. The DECLINE of creativity among so many of our people as compared to yesteryear. Right up until the 80s we made our own music from scratch.....no sampling prior music.

I can answer that question. I have no solid PROOF, however if I were to speculate based on the prior history of the United States and the behavior of racists in this nation.....I would say that the U.S. makes up a disproportionate amount of Covid deaths because the disease has been PURPOSEFULLY spread though out the population. Especially to the Black and Brown communities with the intention of causing harm. You don't have much of a history of China GIVING diseases to their own people. If they want to kill their own....they just kill them outright. Nothing covert. And even then, they usually don't do it without a reason. In the United States however, you have racist both IN and OUT of the government who have a history of conspiring to either generate diseases or use diseases that already exist to harm and kill AfroAmericans and Native Americans. 😏-But I suppose YOU'LL say it's lack of access to proper healthcare among the poor and disadvantaged communities that drove up the death rate, huh?

The implication of what you have attributed to me is that all news is fake, what I communicated in my post was that we are being targeted by fake news. You're jumping to conclusions. I didn't attribute THAT point to you, nor do I even believe it. I referenced your post on FAKE NEWS because it was part of what inspired this thread and thought the concept was a great example of how White folks claim to have "just" come to the light about the lies in the media. You called into question AP. I responded that you need to research what AP does and clarified that the source of much this fake news is sources from social media. I HAVE researched the AP, which is how I can confidently level that accusation at them. The Associate Press is a collection of various American news agencies who CONSPIRE together to collect, edit, and disseminate certain news stories. To be clear statements like the "news" is fake, a Trump talking point, is unnuanced and one that I reject. Now THAT statement is a problem because it suggests that: 1. Trump was the first person to acknowledge that much of the garbage they're putting on in the MAINSTREAM (not just social media) news is false and manipulative. He clearly wasn't. And.... 2. It suggests that questioning the validity of the mainstream media is somehow a "Conservative" talking point and position when the truth is grassroots Black people have been questioning the racist propaganda of the corporate mainstream media DECADES before Trump and his racist minions came along and tried to steal the credit for themselves. I guess you never heard about Yellow Journalism? I have. However Yellow Journalism is typically a term used for FALSE news stories that are used for propaganda; not TRUE news stories that have been covered up or suppressed. Again, no. Black people have been fighting against white racism in the media for two centuries. Black-owned and operated newspapers led the way. You're right. However those facts don't negate my point that the White media didn't start exposing the "hidden facts" until AFTER we started doing it though. We all need to pick a Black owned newspaper and subscribe to it -- I don't even care if you don't read it. Our support of what they do for our communities is important. Well first of all, we need to make sure that the BLACK newspapers are telling the truth! To get MY support a newspaper has to meet TWO qualifications: 1. They must be Black owned and operated 2. They must report THE TRUTH We don't need more Black media outlets promoting filth, foolishness, or the same propaganda and lies that the mainstream White media is reporting but only with a Black reporter with a microphone spewing it. "We've just learned that inflation is increasing and the nation has just entered a recession because Joe Biden is in office instead of Donald Trump. Yet one more reason we should consider re-electing Trump in 2024. Thank goodness you've tuned into the Black Channel because you certainly wouldn't hear this type of truth on the mainstream White channels!" We as a people simply don't provide the same level of support for Black media, that we do for white media. All the way from investment to the consumer we just don't get the same level of support. Black people have to run around begging for support from Black people, talking about about FUBU, Support Black Owned Businesses, yada yada. White people have angel investors, the capital markets, inherited wealth, and the support of Black and white people and their disposal... Black people don't support their own news media outlets the way White folks do for numerous reasons but the major reasons are: 1. Most AfroAmericans don't TRUST the information they get from other Black folks to inform them when it comes to important subject. They trust other Black folks for ENTERTAINMENT like music and comedy, but not when it comes to important matters like news. 2. It's been my observation that most Caucasians have more of a respect and desire to stay informed about what's happening not only locally but globally. Many AfroAmericans simply don't care what's going on outside of their personal lives. And it translates into their purchasing habits.

If you were MISTAKEN about me being right....then why did you feel the need to "clafify" it? Troy OK Pioneer, given. my clarification, Del's correction, and your apparent understanding what he meant, why continue the rigmarole? Just answer the question, if you care to Troy, the answer to that REVISED version of the question is relatively easy. If I had discovered that everything I had BELIEVED up until that point of revelation was wrong....I'd simply start believing the truth as I know it and modify my life accordingly. But this is VERY hypothetical question because to discover that "everything" you believed up until that point was wrong would shake you to the very core and probably make you question Reality itself.

Troy Well, if I didn't witness it for myself....I take the information I get from even what you'd consider the most credible news sources with a grain of salt anyway. The way I categorize information is: 1. What I observe with my own eyes and ears get the highest verification 2. What I get from those I trust who have a history of telling me the truth who say THEY observed it with their own eyes and ears get the second highest verification And it continues to go down from there........

A couple of great questions would be...... 1. Who's LETTING these minorities into the country??? 2. And who's GIVING them the loans and licenses to open up businesses when they aren't even citizens of this nation? This is relatively new in history and actually unprecedented. At no other time in U.S. history prior to the 1970s did you hear of immigrants being allowed to flood into the United States buying property and opening up businesses and being able to send money back to their native countries. They JUST started allowing it 40 years ago. I wonder why?

Protesters are the ones who MAKE the society better by forcing those in power to change their wicked ways and treat the people better. Infact..... I'd say there isn't ENOUGH true protesting (followed up by more affirmative action) going on in society in general. Not only should there be more protests but people should STOP WORKING on certain jobs and start shutting down aspect of the economy to drive their points home. This mass protesting is relatively NEW. It actually started again back in 2014 after the death of either Trayvon Martin or Michael Brown...one of the two...after a huge lull. Prior to 2014, you didn't see a lot of protesting after the 1970s. And if you notice, after the protests of the 70s died down....that's when Reagan got in and started reversing a lot of the social and political progress that was made.

Gregorious 1. For a man in his 40s to look and feel good enough to act like a 14 is a BLESSING. Many people in their 40s are thinking about heading into old age and have health concerns. If you gave me the strength and energy at 60 to run around acting like a teenager...I'd trade in the "maturity" for that wonderful feeling! 2. You're talking about the CURRENT (past 30 years) generations of Hiphop. But when you look at Hiphop from 1995 and prior to that...you seen an entirely different brand. Far more creativity, style, and lyrical creativity. Even when it comes to so-called Gangsta Rap....the lyrics were potent and hard hitting and you have to wonder where did the talent come from to come up with the lyrics and put them together like that. Here's just one example from around 1990 in Ice Cube's The Product Listen to how he tells the journey of being conceived after his parents had sex all the way up through becoming a baby, going through the racist school system, and dropping out to become a criminal on the street and eventually incarcerated and contemplating suicide as he laments over his jacked up life......all in a matter of 3 minutes or so. The GENIUS involved. The STYLE. The FLOW. The SAMPLES used to mesmerize you while you listen to the story. With due respect to them.....neither Edgar Allen Poe nor Shakespeare couldn't hold a light to this!

ProfD I don't think he even tried to clean it up....lol. He was rambling on and on about something on TMZ and probably didn't understand what the hell he was saying anyway. I do think the way he was said it was insulting, insensitive, and inconsiderate. However for some reason the more and more I thought about it....I just couldn't shake the feeling that there was a bit of wisdom inside that statement regardless of his intentions. At what point do I as a man say "enough is enough" and would rather die than continue seeing my people go through that type of suffering? You see the generation before you go through it...you're going through it...now you're 30 years old and see a NEW generation being born to go through it. With no relief in sight...outside of death. Obviously it's easy to sit up in 2022 and philosophize it on the internet when I didn't go through it. But it did give me something to think about.

Sometimes when I'm driving down the street and listening to Hiphop...especially old school Hiphop artists like Ice Cube, LL Cool J, Pete Rock And CL Smooth, ect....I have to marvel and shake my head at the creativity and wisdom involved in coming up with the lyrics they rhyme. Not just the lyrics but the flow. When you sit down and think about it, you have to say there's a Divine Spark in some of these brothers that allow them to not only come up with the words but to put them together in such a captivating and entertaining way. It's just a shame that it's often used negatively. Nobody can tell me that that same Creativity can't be used to build buildings, come up with cures for diseases, repair severed limbs, ect.....

White folks are smart enough to not only steal the ideas and inventions but CODIFY THEM and incorporate them as their own while our people just play around with it and move on. At work the other day I was having a long discussion with an older brother who was into music and he was telling me about how much they loved old school Hiphop music in Japan and how many of them are still Break Dancing. There are White boys who have Break Dancing classes and are making money teaching OUR art forms! We come up with so many inventions and culture that pass through out hands. The art, the creativity, just making it up for fun. I listen to some of Ice Cube's old songs and have to marvel at where he came up with the lyrics that were so compelling. It's almost like snowflakes. Each one has it's own special design but the vast majority just melts away and most people never know the beauty of each snow flake. It makes me almost cry just thinking about it.

Lets say you are provided with additional, new information, outside your set of preexisting beliefs that says none of your set of beliefs are true. Hmmmm....ok. I already know what you will do. You will reject the new information and hold, even more firmly, onto you previous set of beliefs. Consider your stance on multiple races and the genetic basis for it as an example. MAN GET OUT OF HERE....lol. But lets dispense with with your argument for a moment; do you understand the spirit of Del's question, or do you reject that notion too? I absolutely comprehend his question and what he PROBABLY intended to mean by it. However his WORDING of it makes it illogical regardless as to what he meant. He said EVERYTHING YOU BELIEVE. If he had said EVERYTHING YOU BELIEVED PRIOR TO your discovery..it would have been a more logical question. But he didn't word it that way.

ProfD You're correct, and do you know who I blame for most of this? OUR PEOPLE. AfroAmericans as a community were and still are in the most powerful position on the planet to not only change the culture of policing in the United State but to also influence how the citizens are treated by their respective law enforcment agenencies all over the world. But too many of our people would rather smoke dope, party, and bullshit....rather than get down to the business of improving our society. Take the situation going on in Los Angeles for example..... They are just now talking about racist White and Latino gangs inside the LAPD and Sheriff's Department as if it's something new. We've BEEN known there were racist gangs who hunted and targeted Black folks in the LAPD....that's no revelation. But when Los Angeles had a sizable Black population back in the 70s abd 80s....what did they do about it? Nothing. They let the racists on the police department as well as the racist Latino gangs CHASE them out of Los Angeles and California in general and now the few Black folks who still live there are being harassed. Like Kanye West said, 400 years of slavery was a CHOICE When he first said it, I thought it was one of the silliest statments in the world. But the more I thought about it the more accurate and wise it seems.

If the premise the question is based on is illogical....then that makes the question illogical. Take Del's question for example.............. "What if you discovered that everything you believe is wrong" First of all, if you "discovered" something....you obviously BELIEVE that which you claim to have discovered. So that discovery is part of your BELIEFS. Now if you're gonna claim that "everything" you believe is wrong....then you would HAVE to acknowledge that your recent "discovery" was wrong too since it's a part of your beliefs. However that wouldn't make any sense because for that statement to be true.....you couldn't be correct about your recent "discovery/belief" either! Like I said, illogical question..............

There's something I've been noticing about White society and especially the "alternative" and "conspiracy" communties in White society, for some time now.... I've looked at this closely and it appears that the ONLY time they go against the grain, against the establishment, and reveal something "new" is AFTER a Black person reveals it. What do I mean? I'll give a few examples.............. Take Troy's thread on fake news and how so many people NOW acknowledge that the news is fake and manipulative. Well, prior to the 60s you didn't hear any talk. Back then and before it was assumed that everything reported in the mainstream media was "gospel truth" It wasn't until Black activists came along and pointed out the lies in the mainstream media and how they were racist and biased and were trying to manipulate the public- THEN all of a sudden different White people popped up claiming not to trust the "mainstream" media and started doing so called exposes on them. Now they're bashing the mainstream media left and right when THEY are the ones guilty of putting out the false propaganda in the first place. For centuries, White society taught that Adam and Eve were the first people and that humanity is no more than 6000 years old. There is almost no record of them teaching anything else before 1930s. Then AFTER the Nation of Islam came along and said that man is TRILLIONS of years old and so is this planet.....THEN all of a sudden you had all of these different "alternative religions" popping up after the 40s and 50s claiming to have Divine revelations that Earth is millions of years old and man is much older. They started talking about ancient civilizations and who built the pyramids. But BEFORE the 30s they taught that the Hebrews built the pyramids....that was the standard mainstream belief. Yet another example is how for centuries it was thought that the Western diet was the "best" diet. Steak and potatoes will make you strong. Bacon and eggs is good for you and will have you working hard all day. Those were supposed to be the healthiest food to make the healthiest people according to Western tradition. Then Black leaders as far back as the 40s and 50s were saying that Western diet was no good and how it's unnatural and full of toxins, poisons, and preservatives and how we need to go back to a more natural vegetarian based diet without so much meat and preservatives. THEN all of a sudden you started seeing these White gurus popping up with their "alternative health" books claiming we need to eat more grains, more vegetables, no more meat, ect... I can go on and on in terms of subject like religion, the Bible, history, etc....but I think yall get the point. It seems that the ONLY time White folks as a group actually are willing to tell the truth is AFTER we find out and expose it. Then they'll acknowledge it and put SOME of it (not the entire thing) out as if they are the ones exposing it.

ProfD One of the problems with the main stream news is that most of them get the news they're reporting from the SAME source....the AP I'm not exactly sure who the Associated Press is or how they got started but it seems as if they are the ones feeding most major news outlets their stories and opinions and telling them which way to sway their audiences.

Another interesting bit of information is that those diseases you listed didn't show up in those places UNTIL White folks showed up there either as missionaries, traders, or colonizers. NONE of the diseases you listed are documented in the ancient history of those places. Infact, the Greek historian Herodotus said that the Ethiopians were the tallest, healthiest, most beautiful people in the world! After MILLIONS of years of living to themselves, those diseases ONLY appeared within the past 100 years or so after White folks interacted with them. Now what does that tell you....... "You dumb nigger. Don't you know I just gave you the latest variant of Covid? You've been around us for HUNDREDS of years and haven't learned a fucking thing YET?????"

@Chevdove @Franchesca ((but obviously anyone can chime in)) Why did God allow it? Both of you seem to love quoting the Bible and the prophecies of the Bible and how it relates to the plight and destiny of Black people here in the United States. An often favorite prophecy pointed to is the one in Genesis where "Abraham's seed" is supposed to be oppressed for over 400 years and then rescued. But my question to you two is why did God ALLOW our people to go through that in the first place? I know it's prophecied in scripture, however did it HAVE TO go down that way? What was the purpose of allowing our people to suffer for hundreds of years (and many are STILL suffering) to be saved in the end? Infact...... It seems to me...that in order to teach somebody a lesson or show them the power of redemption...you can do that all in ONE LIFETIME. Take a 12 year old and send them through tribulation to prove their faith and then bring them out of it by the time they're 20. No need to make an entire group go through slavery for HUNDREDS of years with whole generations being born and dying in bondage.
