  1. Troy Just another example of how your personal observations has failed you again "another"??? "again"??? Lol....what was the FIRST example of my personal observation "failing" me? In this society "Shannon" is a woman's name. There are exceptions, but this is pretty clear and understood by most. It's like men are attracted to women. There are exceptions as in the case of homosexuals and asexuals, but they are generally not the rule.
  2. frankster Yes that is truth it does not mean non-violent but it does mean more tolerant Less violent mean they are other more violent people or places. Thank you for acknowledging the obvious. Here is two Quote: "To be clear, when I speak of Black folks being tribal, I mean "tribal" as in grouping up for malicious purposes simply to oppose another Black person." "however I'm not talking about humans in general but Black people in specific and it seems as if we tend to be very divided and often times SEEK division and separation from eachother more so than most other groups."" 🙄 I didn't even SEE the word "violent" up there in my quotes. I mentioned how divisive we are and how we often oppose eachother which most Black leaders have observed over the years. In the clip you provided in the other thread, Malcolm X asks the Black audience "who taught you to hate yourself?". Would you accuse Malcolm of implicitly calling Black people more violent because of his statement on self hatred? I'm going to ask you again, Where did I EXPLICITLY or IMPLICITLY say that Africa or Africans were more violent than other people? Copy and paste the entire statement or response? Both quotes can be found on page 1 of this thread. While you have taken the racist position of highlighting Africa's Negative....out of proportion. No. Just highlighting enough to prove you wrong, lol.
  3. This discussion makes me want to watch Spike Lee's School Daze again....lol. G Fi G! Big Brutha All Migh Tee!
  4. ProfD And watch THAT number....177,000.....get "adjusted" and twiddled down in a few months. These people lie for a living.
  5. I don't have a problem with kids under 18 working on little odd and menial jobs like paper routes or washing dishes...as long as it's safe. But it seems as if they're starting to relax a lot of the labor laws around the country, including the child labor laws. Too many people are on board with it thinking it's a good thing because it gives kids a little more responsibility. I don't. I often have this discussion with immigrants who will talk about how children as young as 7 and 8 MUST work in their country to help feed the entire family because they're so poor. They think it should be the same way here and that they'd force THEIR children here to work at that age if they could; claiming that American children are too lazy. My argument has been and still is....if they got their children working and they're STILL poor and they end up DYING poor....obviously making children work isn't the answer. Like that old saying you can do bad all by yourself.... If you're poor, you don't need a broke ass spouse or lover to tag along with you so BOTH of you can be poor together...lol. Along similar lines, if your country or family is poor as hell and you start putting children to work and you STILL end up poor...then obviously making children work isn't the solution. You might as well let the kids play because working isn't helping to get you out of poverty. We don't want America turning into some third world country where the children are out slaving and begging....or worse...for money. That's another reason we need to be careful who we allow into the country because a lot of these people have no problems making slaves out of women, children, the elderly, or whoever and some of them will work these people until they drop dead.
  6. As I look over the posts during our exchange, it appears that many of you mistakenly believe that my position is that my personal observations weigh more than governmental agencies that are charged with gathering stats. That's NOT my argument. Yes, I hold my personal observations OF A PARTICULAR INCIDENT OR SUBJECT in higher regard than what I'll read in some book or in a news paper simply because I've seen it for myself. It's common sense that I'm going to believe what I have seen personally over what somebody WROTE in a damn paper. But obviously I can't compare my limited vision and ability to gather information with a national agency. I think that's pretty much a given. I've seen too many instances of the media lying to trust "the system". Even as a kid, we could witness something go down in the neighborhood and the reporters will often come over to interview some of us as witnesses. Later on that day we'd rush home to see our neighborhood on the 6 o'clock or 11 o'clock news hoping we might see ourselves and our friends and we'd often see 3 things: 1. The reporters may have interviewed 5 people on the street about what happened, but only ONE of those interviews made it on the news! 2. The reporter spend 5 minutes asking questions to the person being interviewed, but on the news....only about 10 seconds of it was shown....lol 3. Half of what the news claimed happened....DIDN'T happen. What the people on the scene actually saw and what the media reported are two different things. This is one of the reasons I don't trust the "official story" in most cases to this day. However, I'm not saying my personal observation or anyone else's personal INDIVIDUAL observations should take the place of government agencies who are sanctioned to actually gather useful information on a large scale like nationally. I'm saying as an INDIVIDUAL...I trust my observations and what I actually see more than I trust what someone tells me to believe.
  7. Seriously.... What good is this shit? This is a straight up EMBARASSMENT to Black manhood. You went from actually fighting...literally fighting....racism; to now just throwing up your hands and doing nothing or kneeling down on the ground and getting arrested peacefully. Capitol Police Arrest Pastor During Prayer Protest Story by Jordan King • 3 Rev. William Barber was arrested Monday in the Capitol Rotunda while leading a prayer protest against Republican budget cuts. He and two others were charged with "crowding, obstructing, and incommoding" by the Capitol Police. Newsweek has contacted Barber's group, Repairers of the Breach, via email, for comment. Why It Matters Barber is a North Carolina progressive activist known for his Moral Monday movement—weekly sessions of civil disobedience in a "moral critique" of state policies. His arrest has intensified the national debate on religious expression and protest rights in government spaces. The incident comes just days after President Donald Trump's task force on anti-Christian bias had its first meeting on April 22. Newsweek has contacted Attorney General Pam Bondi, who chairs the group, via the Florida Attorney General's Communications Office, for comment. What To Know Barber was arrested alongside Rev. Jonathan Wilson-Hartgrove, and Steve Swayne, director of St. Francis Springs Prayer Center, in the Capitol Rotunda on April 28, according to the Religious News Service (RNS). The Capitol Police told Newsweek: "They were arrested for demonstrating inside the Congressional Buildings, which is not allowed in any form, to include but not limited to sitting, kneeling, group praying, singing, chanting, etc. "In this case they started praying quietly and then began to pray out loud. That is when we gave them multiple warnings to stop or they would be arrested. Three people didn't stop. "The charge is 22-1307 Crowding, Obstructing, and Incommoding. There are other spots on Capitol grounds where this type of demonstrating is allowed." The group's protest was aimed at highlighting severe budget cuts feared to jeopardize programs such as Medicaid and Social Security. The three men frequently chanted "Against the conspiracy of cruelty, we plead the power of your mercy," RNS reported. "To think that we went in to pray against the budget, but to pray nonetheless—and the order now is that, evidently, if you pray, you are seen as violating the rules of the Rotunda," Barber said. Barber has previously delivered sermons on the Capitol steps and addressed a Moral Monday gathering at the Supreme Court. Capitol Police Arrest Pastor During Prayer Protest So.......you see "Run DMC" (without Jam Master J) standing out there next to him; I wonder what did THEY do to help their pastor friend? What power did THEY have to keep him from getting arrested????
  8. frankster They do so more than in the other four continents....historically Today Africa is less violent that ....than three other continents "less violent" does NOT = "non violent" or "tolerant" That math doesn't add up...lol. That Africa and Africans are more violent than most other people Where did I EXPLICITLY or IMPLICITLY say that? Yes if one is comparing levels of violence on a continental scale. ...and apparently YOU are that "one" doing it, not me. You made a statement claiming that Africa is a place of tolerance where different groups get along amicably. Initially you didn't make a statement of COMPARISON to other continents but an assertion about Africa by itself; that was FALSE. More so than in many other places and continents hence - the reason there is so many languages and ethnic groups there WHAT is the reason there are so many languages and ethnic groups there? How can that be when you have not provided any studies to back your claims... We'll put how Christians are treated in Islamic territory and how Muslims are treated in Christian territory aside. We'll put how homosexuals (whether we see it as right or wrong, it IS a "difference" among humans that can either be tolerated or not tolerated) are treated aside. We'll put the genocide in Rwanda and how ethnic groups around the country are treated aside. We'll put how Arabs in North Africa treat Black Africans aside. 1. We BOTH acknowledge that there is a history of wars in Africa. 2. I provided a video of a current long running war in the Congo. Are you telling me this is NOT enough proof for you that Africa IS NOT and HAS NOT been a place of tolerance where different people get along amicably???? Again, you've been proven wrong; but instead of accepting this, you're ATTEMPTING to CHANGE the argument from whether or not Africa is a place of tolerance where different groups get along amicably.....to how violent they are IN COMPARISON to other continents. You can walk down THAT path by yourself, I've made my case.
  9. The very fact that a Pope or Prophet actually has a FUNERAL should make people...with intelligence...stop and think about what they believe. If your religious leader dies....especially under 100 years of age...what EVIDENCE is there that they were any closer to GOD than you or anybody else? The fact that the Pope has human "security" detail should also raise questions in the minds of....an intelligent....Catholic.
  10. The old folks say it's "bad luck" to lay your hat on the table. ...or is it the bed??? 🤔
  11. frankster If that is what we are speaking about then every continent has wars... But that's not what we're speaking about. We're speaking about whether or not Africa is a continent of tolerance where differences are accepted and different ethnic groups get along amicably as you claim. Clearly...they do not. My Point is to refute your implications... And WHAT are my "implications"???? When it comes to violence and intolerance.....Africa historical is Fifth out of Seven - and currently Asia has more wars than Africa So? Does having LESS violence mean it's a place of peace and tolerance? Does killing LESS people than the next man means a person is NOT a killer? I can list Genocides that happen in other continents.... Africa is not the only Continent that experience Genocide. Ok? Again, because other continents experience this does that make Africa a continent of peace and tolerance? Because THAT'S the message you've been TRYING to convey for weeks now. There is fighting and killings going on in at least 5 or 6 of the 7 continents... Whats your point???? My point is that you're WRONG. Africa is NOT a place where differences are well tolerated and people get along with eachother amicably. I already know what?? Right now, you already know you've lost the argument so now you're trying to muddy it up and cause confusion...lol.
  12. Troy did you miss the entire me too movement that was largely white boys getting caught up? Ok... And besides Harvey Weinstein...how many of them actually got locked up and did time like Puffy, Kelly, and Cosby? And they're trying to get Weinstein out as we speak. That "times up" and "me too" shit was brief, but this is ongoing. And not only have they went after Black celebrities but Black politicians as well. was a relatively common name when I was younger, so I’m sure there are a lot of Damita’s still running around. I don't know what goes on in the mind of a mother who'd name her child "dam" anything. Troy & ProfD Shannon, is probably a more common name and it is gender neutral like Tracy or Morgan. Shannon Sharpe is over 50 years old. Either his momma was ahead of her time or as @Troy mentioned, it's been a gender neutral name for a long time. Cory, Tracy, and Sean are more gender neutral...but Shannon isn't. Shannon is a straight up WOMAN'S name...and a WHITE woman at that, lol. You might as well name you son "Molly" or "Wendy" as far as that goes...lol. Sometimes I think these mothers REALLY wanted daughters and gave their sons those names out of some sort of longing for a girl. How else could you explain giving a whole boy a GIRL'S name? And the daddy probably wasn't around either because I don't know a lot of self respecting men who would even ALLOW their son to be named "Shannon". "Robin" is almost as bad....lol. Not QUITE as bad.....but almost. Robin Williams Robin Harris.
  13. Troy Although I may be an outsider looking in, I do respect those organizations and understand the importance of them....including the Black ones. Outside of the social connections you tend to make through these different collegiate fraternities, the main reason is they want to know how well you can keep secrets and be loyal to an organization. That way when you graduate and enter adulthood they know they can trust you with more important things.
  14. I can't. That's the issue. Some pictures I can post, but most including a screenshot of any size won't let me and I get this message: 1 file would exceed the total allowed size of 1.775kB, and was skipped At the bottom of the window we used to post messages it says: Max total size: 1.78 kB
  15. Troy Yes. Up until this point about HALF of the jobs I've had have been either service industry or blue collar, including the one I'm on currently. The other half has been sales, which I would consider more white collar but it wasn't a firmly established white collar career like a marketing executive. The atmospheres between service industry, blue collar, and professional jobs are certainly different. The jokes we tell eachother are different. The cast of characters you work with are different. The gender and sexual dynamics are different. Even the race relations dynamic is different. But I'm curious as to what do you means SPEFICALLY????
  16. I'm not sure but if you look at the bottom of the template window we use for posting messages it says Max total size: 1.78 kB ....atleast on mine. I routinely get messages telling me I can't post this picture or that picture because it's larger than 1.78 KB
  17. I'm wondering how were you able to bypass @Troy's 1.78 KB size limit on posted images, lol. What's the trick to THAT????
  18. What??? Who?? When did Mel drop some knowledge about an alliance between The Boule and Sororities? I'd like to read it. Did she PM you or something? She DOES have a Sorority Sista "vibe" to her; especially with her education and career....but she doesn't strike me as the type of person who would get into that type of discussion in a group setting with non-members. Right? @Mel Hopkins ??? She seems like somebody who not only knows how to keep a secret....but could make you forget what you even ASKED her, if you aren't careful. You start asking her about Sorority hazing rituals and she'll change the subject and start posting graphs and figures about domestic violence and alcohol consumption on college campuses, or some shit....lol.
  19. Yall don't converse much even when both of you're on here posting at the same time...lol. I notice that.
  20. While it's true women went into factories to replace the men who went off to WWII, the men came back in the mid-late 40s -long before the Women's Movement; yet they KEPT the women in those factories. Do you want to know why? When women started working in large numbers, management observed 2 major things about them: 1. They were more docile and put up with poor working conditions without complaining as much as men did 2. They didn't demand more and more money and other benefits for their labor the way men did. Women workers...by nature...are more caring and focused on KEEPING their jobs so that they can feed their children so they are less likely to place demands on their employer or get into conflict with them and risk losing their jobs. To this day, female workers are preferred in most jobs. And let's keep it real..... To a lesser extent, another reason women were preferred over men was because it supplied the men in management plenty of "easy access" pussy from their needy subordinates often willing to do anything to keep their jobs.
  21. Actually WE started it for them.....lol To her credit....Kamala Harris DID try to use her "Divine Nine" connections to her advantage. She tried to... Skeeee Weeee ...her way into the Whitehouse, lol.
  22. It's not just about Shannon though..... It's clearly part of a larger agenda. And why in the HELL would you name you son "Shannon"???? What kind of shit is that? What goes through the MINDS of some of these sistaz when they're naming their kids. Giving them EVIL names like "Darnel" and "Demonte" and GIRLISH names like "Cory" and "Shannon"....damn. I've met MORE than one sista named "Damita"....wtf....why would their mothers name them that????
  23. Troy I'm surprised. I knew you had an engineering degree and had a career in academia; I thought you were part of an academic fraternity. What about a professional fraternity? Most doctors, lawyers, and many engineers are. Again, I'm interested in the deeper explanation. I'm still waiting on Cynique to BEG me so I can answer your question. Which you probably wouldn't believe anyway....lol. When it comes to a lot of Fraternal Orders, Black people often like to COPY what White folks do...without understanding WHY White folks do what they do. Like I said, many Black societies whether they're fraternities or masonic lodges will COPY what they see White fraternities and lodges do without understanding WHY those White fraternities and lodges practice those rituals in the first place or where they came from. Outside of helping eachother get good jobs (which I actually do respect).... Niggaz just running around with rings on their fingers, throwing expensive parties and picnics, and keeping secrets over nothing....lol.
  24. Who's going to FIX these machines and robots when they break down? Lol...ever thought of THAT, genius????
  25. I'm going to keep it real with you and say (type...lol) something that you may find a bit shocking, even from me..... I DON'T GIVE A DAMN if he's guilty of innocent. I seriously don't. I haven't followed the story much either and don't care to because I don't want these fucking demons legitimizing their lynchings. Men screw women. That's what men do and we've been doing it SINCE humanity. I don't condone rape or sexual assault period, but I can't trust what these devils say. Even if Shannon came on and APOLOGIZED for doing....whatever they claimed he did...I'm STILL not going to believe it. I'll say he's just a CLONE talking or maybe they PAID him or THREATENED him to admit it. I'm serious, I'm not going along with this crap. It's getting out of hand with the "going after Black men for having sex" with women. No Asian men getting caught up. No Arab men getting caught up. How many Latino men are getting caught up??? But every day you got some brutha with his picture on the screen. I don't care WHAT they accused my brutha of...I'm not going to believe them. They charged Elijah Muhammad and Martin Luther King of sexual infidelity and guess what? ....I don't believe THAT either! I did entertain it slightly at one time, but not anymore. Both of those men are INNOCENT as far as I'm concerned. I don't give a damn how much "evidence" they present I won't believe it because of WHO the "evidence" is coming from -Satan. We talked about the LGBT community in the other thread. Notice how you don't hear headlines about Black men being sued or arrested for sexual activities with MEN of any race? So it's alright for a Black man to have sex as long as it's GAY sex, according to some in this society. They'll leave him alone then.
