Doesn't it bug you that others, such as myself, are CYNIQUIAN level posters? I mean, based upon this, I can start billing myself in the media as THE REAL CYNIQUE--that is if I were so disposed. Your comments, please.

During an interview with Wanda Sykes, Erykah said she does not make money through the sales of her CD. She also said budgets are smaller as well. I have to assume this is part of the reason to create such a video. On basis of grabbing attention I doubt she could have done anything which would have been more successful. The "bootyfull" Badu certainly got my attention. The controversy surrounding this video is furthure evidence that there is no such thing as "bad" publicity. Erykah Badu - Window Seat Video Wanda Sykes "Window Seat" Parody However, I purchased the first New Amerykah CD, from a wall Wal-Mart in Western Mass, when it first came out. I …

am i the only one who was sick to their stomach watching that DISGUSTINGLY obese "female", who played precious, sit there at the oscars, grinning from ear to ear? she should be ashamed of herself that she is SO dam fat, and unattractive. ofcourse everyne has to act like they don't see just how DANGEROUSLY unhealthy she really is, so they just shower her with "praise". oprah was on stage just glowing about how wonderful this 450 pound black girl is. very sad and pathetic. the girl is really unhealthy, and disgusting looking, but fake hollywood MUST shower the most pathetic types with this false praise. this girls family should be ashamed as sh…

April 4, 1968-- Martin Luther King got his brains blowed out in Memphis. I am so crude because everybody likes to act like he just "passed away" or something. No. His brains were blowed out, all over the balcony at the Lorraine Hotel, like he was a crip or a blood or something. He had his pants hitched up. He used the King's English. He preached non violence. He was married to the mother of his children and supporting them--best he could while he was running all over the country trying to do right by folks. He was not strapped. Nor any of his associates. Remember--

Should be Hillary Clinton. Go for it, Obi wan! Make it a knock down, drag out, fight! The Republicans will be torn between pleasing their subhuman, cretinous base and extending courtesy to a former Senator. The Obama base will be fused like never before. The Independents will be disgusted when those teabagging savages go ape. This is his chance to reverse the bloodbath looming in November. Will he take it? Do he have the Cojones?

TROY, I tried to post as you gave me permission to. But I'm still being harassed by the GOON-LOSERS here. XEON credits me for everyone's post--something I have no benefit or need for. Schakspir, Book Fan and a slew of other "Kola haters" consistently SMEAR my name and use every opportunity to peddle lies and exaggerations about my past. THE HATRED of me will never die. It just won't ever go away. So while I love so many people here who support me and appreciate your attempt to be civil and businesslike, I can't deal with the "Trolls" suddenly popping up & everyone blaming ME for it. I am NOT responsible for any posts here but tho…

...So I was watching Divorce Court the other day. Interracial couple, bm/ww. They were having a dispute about his infidelity, her stabbing him in the foot and owing him 3 stacks for the emergency room visit...and her "ghetto" behavior in which this this samborific step-n-fechit remarks (TO JUDGE LYNN..who is a beautiful sista) "If i wanted ghetto, I would have married a black woman!" Of course Judge Lynn schooled this spearchucking bandicoot and read him like a damn book, lol. What amused me about his words is that this fool was neck rolling, using broken english and behaving just like a "ghetto black woman" he vehemently despises. So I ask....the standard fo…

Well, we've been waiting for somebody to spice things up here and although I don't quite know what to make of CaramelGirl, she cracks me up. That icon of the skeptical sista drinking the strawberry Koolaid{?} sent me into hysterics. Ooooh, Lordy. I could just hear her sayin "ummmm hum". I have a feeling folks might suspect Caramel is a sock puppet of mine because we are both Kola Boof taunters, but as I've always said, I don't need anybody else to speak for me or to toot my horn. Parable of the Black Bourgeoisie The economic and political dependence of this African neo-colonial bourgeoisie is reflected in its culture of apenmanship and parrotry enforced on a restive population through police boots, barbed wire, a gowned clergy and judiciary; their ideas are spread by a corpus of state intellectuals, the academic and journalistic laureates of the neo-colonial establishment. --Ngugi wa Thiong'o, Decolonizing the Mind The black bourgeoisie is a class of very sick people who go about their daily round pretending all is well. They have a gang of police who do not carry guns but are yet dangerous because they use masking tape to gag and sile…

In news of profound emotional significance for the world's first black republic, the only known original print of Hayti's declaration of independence from France has been discovered in an archive. The pamphlet is titled Liberty or Death. Although transcriptions of the text survived, no copy of the declaration itself had ever been found by modern historians. For context, watch this video of Raymond Alcide Joseph, Haitian Ambassador to the United States, speaking the day after January's catastrophic earthquake. He starts off by rebuking Pat Robertson for his infamous claim that the black republic was created by Satan, and then (and more to the present point) tal…

Whew! Thank goodness Troy showed up and extracted some order from the chaos. The inmates were running the asylum. And I'm sure glad he finally activated the "delete" engine. I plead guilty to being one of the perpetrators but the outrageous machinations of Kola Boof just bring out the mischief in me. If she would just stop trying to hoodwink everybody I maybe would chill out. I never understood why Kola couldn't just post as Kola and let her assets speak for themselves. Why did she always had to have a roster of characters who routinely turned out to be fans of hers. Guess it was because she didn't get enough adulation from all the supporters she claims to have here…

I lurked on the old Thumper's corner. I think that the there needs to be better moderation on this forum because so far it is just filled with too much trolling and talking & trashtalking about *will not mention this person's name*. Those threads need to be deleted and more legitimate thread discussions should be created with legitimate posters. Maybe the adminstrator needs to make it so that you have to be registered in order to make a post because the trolling is getting out of h and. And if the trolling still continues then accounts need to be deleted. I hate what this forum has become.

know what? I was going to post on an older topic but then I noticed anyone who says anything, even a few veteran members, are immediately accused of being our good friend and "speshul" board member Kola Boof. Monk it. I'm Kola's Wig Head and I just want to say three words---sad, sad, sad. This board has lost all relevance over some hotshot provocateer who I personally don't think is around here much. I too follow Kola on Twitter and she's not lost her wollop for being "on" one bit. I, too, Cynique am a Kola expert. I too have been around for years off and on. I know Kola's m.o. even at her best and these whiners and deniers aren't Kola Boof.…

Since things have become so hectic around here what with accusations flying and recollections being dredged up and old feuds being revisited, I feel the need to add my voice to the dissonance and clear up a few things. I beg the indulgence of the registered members and thumb my nose at the motley crew of “guests”. I stumbled upon Thumper's Corner quite by accident about 10 years ago when, as a newbie to the internet, I was surfing around checking out chat rooms. When I first posted here, I used my real first name, but quickly abandoned this option upon realizing this was was an unwise decision. Thereafter I briefly took on the title “Critique” since that seemed to …

Watch the trailer for Shahadah's new film, Motherland. And get an earful of this song from the soundtrack, "Come Into The Sunshine," by Shahadah's band, Ocacia. I don't know who that woman is, but what a voice! The documentary features commentary by a host of prominent Africans and Americans, including Jacob Zuma, Meles Zenawi, Molefi Kete Asante, and Harry Belafonte. According to Wikipedia, Shahadah filmed an interview with Desmond Tutu but edited out the remarks of the Nobel Peace Prize winner after Tutu said President Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe should be forced out of office if he won't leave. Don't know if I trust Wikipedia on that one -- Tutu said that 15 m…

Whata trainwreck. Understand he is trying to get enough votes from DEMOCRATS, his own party. He don't need a single Republican vote to pass it, and can't get his own party on board. Actually I think they got the votes, but they are trying to get a cushion so some of those snakes can vote no so they won't have to defend the vote in November. I think, if he don't get the votes. He'll have a stroke. He has already in many ways been areply of Woodrow Wilson. He will have a stroke, and be incapacitated and Michelle will be trying to run the country and we'll have to deal with that. Be careful what you wish for.

Hi, it's Kola Boof. What a wonderful new set up you all have here. In the next few days, I intend to post my new videos at least. TONIGHT, I'm just posting a link to the "audio" of me singing the song "The Beautiful Ones Are Not Yet Born." **AUDIO/LISTEN: http://bit.ly/bmnVad **The VIDEOS are coming in a few days. By this Wednesday, March 3rd (my birthday)...the editor has promised to have them up. "KOLA BOOF SINGING PERFORMANCE" is a video showing quite a lot of footage of me preparing for my "comeback." "NAKED AT THE FEAST" is a "tit" spectacular for the men...but deeper than that, it's my attempt to chronicle the hist…

Black people must leave, NJ Walmart announcer says Bruce Shipkowski, Associated Press Writer, On Thursday March 18, 2010, 1:07 am EDT WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) -- A Walmart store announcement ordering black people to leave brought chagrin and apologies Wednesday from leaders of the company, which has built a fragile trust among minority communities. A male voice came over the public-address system Sunday evening at a store in Washington Township, in southern New Jersey, and calmly announced: "Attention, Walmart customers: All black people, leave the store now." Shoppers in the store at the time said a manager quickly got on the public-address sy…

Well, once again Obama proved if you want him to cooperate with you you should kick his butt. (If he came into a bar with Michelle I would hit on her right in front of him) So, how do you think he did? Actually, I think he should never have announced a boycott and he did pretty well under the circumstances.

We are in the midst of changing times. All around us things are evolving; subtly in some areas and blatantly in others. Uncertainty permeates all facets of our lives. Young people look ahead, focusing on the future, oblivious to how much they have to learn. Old people look back, resigned to what the past has taught them. Some say what lies ahead has been prophesied and that what awaits will be either The End or The Beginning. I say WHO knows. And upon deciding to make “who knows” a statement rather than a question, I am inspired to contemplate. In the seventh year of the seventh decade of my life, I look around, seduced by the implications of the 77 that defines…

I am to be counted among the small percentage of the population who harbors a simultaneous deep love and a heart-wrenching disappointment with my country. I can’t say that I hate my country by any stretch of the imagination because I adore the people, places, and events that have shaped my identity but to suggest that I have a God-Bless-America-Of-Thee-I-Sing blanket patriotism would be disingenuous as well. I love my nation but I see her flaws and shortcomings. I do not hate my country but I hate some of the aspects of it that taint its supposed greatness. I see myself first and foremost as a citizen of the world; my life and my story are reflected in the eyes of peo…

I mean you can differ on abortion. The defense budget. Foreign Aid. Everyone, when pressed, will readily admit that they want people to have health care. Yet, the Democrats are going through all sorts of contortions to pass a bill that ought to be a no brainer and are looking weak, wimpish, inept, corrupt and all of the above. How do you screw something like this up? To answer my own question, you put a bill out there that is so long and convoluted nobody really knows what is in it and your enemies can take pot shots at you and confuse the public. You assume that your enemies want you to succeed in doing something. You resort to all kinds of…

E-book readers have been rapidly growing into a very popular reading for the last couple of years. Sony and Amazon have been cashing in big-time due to huge demand. Authors are starting to switch from paper to digital format and selling their stuff right offline. All in all, a really cool new way to enjoy the reading experience. But will this mean the end of book-books? Are they endanger of becoming obsolete? I don't know if I can give up paper. The thought of it is kind of scary. Using a Kindle isn't the same as holding a hardcover book in your hands and turning the pages. Plus, they break real easily or malfunction for no reason. Look at it the wrong way and t…

Introduction Shakespeare once asked, “What is in a name?” The answer to this age-old question depends on the particular culture from which it is framed: among many African cultures a name tells a lot about the individual that it signifies, the language from which it is drawn, and the society that ascribes it. A name may indicate the linguistic structures and phonological processes found in the language, the position of the name’s bearer in society, and the collective history and life experiences of the people surrounding the individual. African cultures have various ways of naming a child, ranging from the Akan naming system based on days of the week to the Egyptian …

New Zealand woman sells souls to highest bidder Mon Mar 8, 11:33 pm ET WELLINGTON, New Zealand – The rare spirits that went under the gavel at a recent online auction in New Zealand weren't aged brandies or hard-to-find liqueurs. Instead, two glass vials purportedly containing the ghosts of two dead people sold for $2,830 New Zealand dollars ($1,983) at an auction that ended Monday night. The "ghosts" were put up for bidding by Avie Woodbury from the southern city of Christchurch. She said they were captured in her house and stored in glass vials with stoppers and dipped in holy water, which she says "dulls the spirits' energy." She said they were…

Man! They got Patterson and now they're getting Rangel. We can point the finger at those two but they are just two whose time ran out--our political system is a sump of corruption and those who are not corrupt cannot advance or last in it. I note they were both from Harlem part of some legendary club that came to power as reformers and new jacks in the 60's and 70's. (Rangel was and Patterson's dad was) Where were they when the heroin was ravaging their community? Oh well. Who will step up and try next. Troy? Or are youse gonna let a white guy do it?
