I've repeatedly said for over 10 years now that Black folks need a SOLID AGENDA. But what I've been saying for about 3 years specifically is that INTELLIGENT and DECENT Black folks need to get together and formulate this agenda because you'll never unite ALL Black folks on everything. Unfortunately, some of our people are just plain too STUPID to know what's in their best interests. They'll sell-out for a pack of Black-N-Milds and 12 piece party pack of Popeyes chicken. You can't discuss anything of importance with them. They won't understand if and many of those who manage to....will just screw your plans. "Reparations???? NIgga this IS the Reparations! Da' fuck you thank???" INTELLIGENT and DECENT Black folks need to organized and form an agenda. I've discovered that INTELLIGENT Black people...meaning Black people with an IQ of atleast over 95..actually tend to think quite similar. We notice the same things in society and actually notice the same problems. When intelligent Black men get together...and leave the dope and alcohol alone while we meet...we usually come up with VIABLE solutions to our problems pretty quickly. It's usually White folks who come into the meeting interfering with the discussion or Black FOOLS who waste time talking loud and making threats that hinder progress. And don't let a bunch of Black fools AND some White folks be at the same meeting...they'll REALLY act up!!! Start showing out and competing with eachother over who the White folks agree with the most. "Now wait a minute now... Shhhhhh...be quiet yall, I got sum' to say. Now hold on yall... I thank...I thank dat we should all show a dep of gratitude to Massa Trump fa takin' time out his busy schedule to come sit down wit' us." Just don't let THEM butter biscuit eating fools in our meetings and we'll be alright. Let them wait outside in the drive way next to the cars until we're finished talking businesses. Then they can drive us back home...or to the closest Popeye's chicken to celebrate our success...lol

Even for skilled labor jobs.... To go to school for 4 or 5 years and learn the math and other skills it takes to be a journeyman is too much for the average poor/working class person. You really do need to be ATLEAST average IQ or a little higher. This is why most people don't get skilled trades. They can't get past the math. The tangents and degrees throw them off....lol

This is heartbreaking because these workers need the most protection from greedy-a owners and management. I’ll never forget Jeff Smisek former CEO at United. He hated that Legacy United had such strong unions and he did everything he could to destroy them. But the pilots union dragged him .. and even the flight attendants union 25000 strong after the merger wouldn’t give or budge much on anything. He hated the work rules; and definitely hated the pay— Dude even tried to get rid of aircraft mechanics at some stations and ended up paying other airlines to fix the planes. In the end, the FBI had him under investigation and he resigned with a golden parachute. But all those unions I mentioned do have highly skilled laborers. So, you may be right, it could make a difference.

You're on the right track. Lincoln did not want the institution of slavery to spread from the South upward into the North and West. The South threatened to secede from the Union. It was like keeping a drug dealer from expanding into new territories. The South wanted to go big and felt like the North should mind their business especially since they were benefitting from the goods and services the free labor of slavery produced. Lincoln stuck to his principles of keeping the institution of slavery as a Southern thing and not letting it expand. The Southerners bucked. War was declared. Black folks benefitted indirectly. 😎

Yessir. I remember many years ago, a dude was over in Singapore putting graffiti on the walls. The US tried to intervene. Nope. They whupped his azz. I just heard a news report the other day that black folks are locked up 5 times more than white folks for similar crimes. Latinx folks are locked up 1.3 times more than white folks for similar crimes. I'm not surprised. Do yourself a favor and hang out at the courthouse one day. You will see black folks going to prison for drug offenses. White folks going to time out, er, drug rehabilitation class for the same offenses. Don't get me started on the n8gglets who enforce the laws (judges and prosecutors). They lock up the black folks and set the white folks free. 😎

Well first of all the entire criminal justice system needs an overhaul. Most of the laws on the books be they federal, state, or local....don't work well for AfroAmericans. They are either too harsh, too easy, or irrelevant and shouldn't exist at all. Infact, I'd go as far as to say over 90% of the laws on the books shouldn't exist. Further, like we've touched on earlier....there aren't enough mental hospitals to house people and give them treatment...which isn't by accident. They DEISNGED it this way so as to save money on spending and helping people. But the punishments need to change too...... Most people who are locked up shouldn't have been locked up for the crimes they've committed. Most of them should have gotten either a fine or CORPORAL punishment (i.e. "flogging"....) I totally support some people getting their ass whipped as punishment for certain crimes instead of locked up in a cage for 10 or 15 years.

@ProfD Try it again. If you use a VPN (it does not look like you are) but it will be a challenge to help you if you are. Some people feel forced to use VPN's, rather than a static IP address, because corporate sites would exploit your and your data. AALBC is not one of those sites. @Cynique Basically the fix is that I whitelisted your IP address (basically tell Godaddy not to block your posts). This has actually happened to me a few times! There is no reason that I can discern for why some locations are blocked. @ProfD and @Mel Hopkins you both should be able to start conversations now. Unfortunately this is a major problem with the the web, carriers, service providers, web hosts have to be extra precautious for fear of being hacked. I can't say that I blame them inconveniencing some users is MUCH better than having you site taken for ransom. Again the little guy is always hurt the most... I've been sending a newsletter out for over twenty years and I discovered about a year again that Outlook is putting my own newsletter, sent from me, into my junk folder!?

Personally, I'm not offended by Meek Mill's artwork. I just don't find it to be in good taste. The artwork looks like something that should be in a Boondocks comic book.😁 I'm not a black woman either but as a connoisseur of them, I can type/say unequivocally that many black women take great pride in their bodies and personal appearance. They just want it to be seen by the *right* person i.e. someone who they find attractive. That's why black women wear clothes to accentuate the positive and give an idea of what lies beneath. They certainly don't dress like Middle Eastern or Amish women. Women do not want to be objectified or sexualized by those to whom they're not attracted. When a woman is digging someone, it's on and poppin' and everything comes off. Religion and morality is the smoke screen folks hide behind until they feel safe letting their hair down and doing what comes naturally. Yep. This was started a couple decades ago. Mentally ill folks were released from institutions back into society. Many of them are living in homeless shelters or in a group home setting or on the streets. They really should be in a long term care facility. But, prisons have beome the defacto Pyschiatric asylum. Of course, there is no long term treatment and/or rehabilitation. Once time is served, that individual returns to society. We can only hope they do not commit a more heinous crime. Again, this country could do a much better job in tackling mental health issues. Maybe there is a reason it doesn't...by design. 😎

The problem with unionization is that it usually takes too much intelligence, skill, planning and subversive behavior for it to get off the ground and be effective and MOST poor and workingclass people don't have enough people in their ranks to pull that off. Or atleast....don't have as many as wealthier people. At my now FORMER job, in the 8 years I've been there people have tried to unionize it atleast 5 times and it collapsed because not enough people were interested. Most poor and workingclass people are of average to below average intelligence. Not all...but most. They aren't interested in reading and staying late or meeting off the work site to organize. They just want to put their little 8 hours in, clock out....and go get drunk, high, have sex, and enjoy themselves and their families. The solutions for most poor and working class people must be SIMPLE so that the masses of them can participate.

This might seem a little disappointing, but I really don't have that much of a problem with the cover to be honest. This is a very interesting subject that probably deserves it's own thread. I'm no longer religious so I don't find nudity and using women for sex wrong, as long as they aren't being forced into it. I know you don't need to be religious to have morals...and I have morals...but they don't revolve around sexual activity. So I personally don't find it offensive. I know I'm not a Black woman so I can't answer for them but as a Black man I LOVE seeing the body of Black women. 2.I think too many of our sisters have picked up the "any appreciation of the female body is offensive" vibe from a lot of the White feminists they went to college with. So now any attempt to portray Black women in a sexual light is seen as offensive. The fact is MOST WOMEN....of all races...are sexualized...not just Black women. 3. We can't have it both ways. We can't say don't sexualize the Black woman....but when a Black man says ok and then goes after the White woman who doesn't have ANY problem getting naked and being as freaky as she wants to be...then get mad at him for chasing after White women. We tell the brother stop disrespecting the sister and lusting after her....so he stops and goes after the White woman. We tell him to stop lusting after the White woman....so he stops and starts lusting after OTHER Black men...LOL We tell him NO BROTHER...stop lusting after other dudes....... Now the poor brother don't know WHO he's allowed to lust after. And starts lusting after HIMSELF to be on the safe-side. "Can a brutha catch a break???" So, for me....as long as it's between consenting men and women...it's all good. Can't make too many rules and restrictions. But that's just MY opinion after so many experiences and observations of Black man/female relations.

I read the book written about Henrietta Lacks by a white female author who did pretty well from the royalties. I think she did set up some kind of foundation in Henrietta's name. Oprah, of course, made a TV movie based on this book. Wonder who was paid for the rights to it? The story of Henrietta and her family was a rather sad one. Her survivors seemed to be a very erratic family group. In regard to the hospital labs using her cells without the family's permission, this was a routine procedure. It was like using the afterbirth of miscarried and aborted fetuses, harvesting these cells to save the lives of living babies. Ben Crump is getting paid huh? I saw him, here in Tulsa, during the centennial commemoration for the Race Massacre. The Lacks family, in my opinion, deserves compensation based upon the limited information I have. I don't know who is gonna pay a quarter of a trillion dollars, but hey if they pay 1%. That will probably be fair... I think. I'm sure Crump and his team of attorneys will be happy with a multi-billion dollar settlement.

Mzuri, I hate to break this news but unfortunately, unions have been corrupted by politics too. Unions collect dues from its members to take care of them supposedly. But, those same unions are also courted by special interest groups to get their members to conform to certain things too. Unions will not buck mask mandates or vax requirements because it would be bad for business i.e. their bottom line. They are encouraging members to follow the rules. I don't know what the end game is regarding this pandemic but I'm watching their hands and following the money. I'm still amazed that they have politiczed and monetized a virus but to date there is no cure for cancer. 🤨 Oh, that's right, there is no money in the cure. But, there's a whole economy built on cancer research and treatment.😎

Mzuri It seems to me that even when people are arrested, oftentimes they are set free anyway. Especially in places like NYC. Yeah. Especially when they are violent and mentally disturbed and the cops want to put them out on the street to commit a violent act to JUSTIFY themselves. Isn't it interesting that most of the well publicized violent incidents that took place in New York earlier this year almost all involved a homeless Black person with mental problems who was previously arrested but for some reason was let back out on the street? That one dude who beat up the Asian woman infront of a building had allegedly stabbed his own mother to death a few years back. But he get's out and is allowed to roam the streets?????
