  4. Started by Cynique,

Hi, Starting Monday, February 6th, installments of my novella "The Only One" will be appearing here on AALBC. To set the scene, and introduce the main characters, the first 2 chapters will start things off. Thereafter, depending on how long they are, either one or two chapters will run once a week. I invite you all to tag along on this trip through the lives and loves of people all in pursuit of that elusive dream that delivers their "Only One". You'll smile, you'll sigh, you'll identify. But, most of all, I hope you'll enjoy. See Ya. Cynique

  5. As part of the on going AALBC.com upgrade effort. I've added a photo gallery to the website. Now a photo gallery is not a big deal to add to a site, but I've been hosting most of my photos on Facebook. Which at the time seemed like a good idea as I could tag people and they could like the photos. Today however I now this was a mistake because now (Jul 9, 2017) Facebook beats AALBC.com on a query I should own, "https://www.google.com/search?q=aalbc+photos." Given the photos I've added to Facebooks, and the lack of organized images on AALBC.com, Facebook should win. I added a Photo Gallery and have added almost 1,000 photos--today alone. I have …

  7. I read the quote below on Facebook today. I know Paul and heard this story before. But today when I read this story, I thought, a post I made recently made suggesting that Walter Mosley does not support AALBC.com. Upon reflection I was really wrong about that. “Walter Mosley who was probably traveling in Woodson’s spirit when he hooked me up to publish his Gone Fishin’ in 1996. Walter was a best selling author even then. he wanted to make sure that some Black publisher would benefit from his wealth and fame. he made sure that I was in full control and learned the ropes of negotiating 6 and 7 figure deals. with that experience he made it possible for me to serve…

By Floyd Collins Part 1 The context of this book is truthful and is based on my memory of my past life and the people and events who has help shaped me in to whom I am today. You may also find some of the contents shocking and disturbing including some offensive language and violence. Names of some individuals have been changed to protect their anonymity. Do not read this book if you are easily offended. However, if you choose to read it I do hope you will enjoy reading it. Legacy, what is it? Well, it’s an inheritance, heritage, endowment, gift, patrimony, settlement, birthright. Every one of us has a legacy, some are proud of their legacy, others are not…

<<<<<< The theory goes that the road to our self-hatred had been paved long before this, and that black on black crime that was an offshoot of this mentality had actually been seeded with the actions of a tiny elite: the integrationists , and the athletes. With hindsight, we all realize that integration was not the sacred cow black leaders had hoped it would be. For some reason, integrationists, acted on the principle that our problems would be solved by living next door to Mr. Charlie and Miss Ann. Never had our leaders been so wrong. 1964. In 1964, American politics were a constitutional hodge-podge, and it is highl…

  15. Started by Troy,

AALBC.com is continuing to expand. We are just a few months away from providing book printing services. I'm excited about this because this is one of the final pieces needed to becoming a full service publisher. The other great thing is that I'm working with an established Black owned printer who is producing a quality products at competitive prices. I'm setting up the website now (which is slowing up the AALBC.com upgrade, but it is worth the effort). I also plan on publishing great books that agents can't find publishers for, I'm about a year away from this, but there's some great potential here that I can't wait to begin working on.

The court extended time to the speculators, but didn't give Marcus Books an appropriate 5 day extension. An associate of Marcus Books is supplying $1.64 million to purchase the building back.

The heat that rose from her skin had spun a vibrant warmth up and over him, and as he’d rested his head along the round of her breasts, he’d wanted only to snuggle deep beneath the essence of her, and melt the chill from his soul. His need for her had become unnatural, his craving stirred by the mere thought of her flesh against his flesh. Just the whisper of her name would waken his manhood and command him to posses…

Far too often I see author post links here, and elsewhere, for other to purchase their book from Amazon, and they are not an Amazon Associate – that is simply leaving money on the table. When I post an advertisement for an author or publisher on AALBC.com; if they provide me a link to Amazon without an affiliate code, I use AALBC.com affiliate code – someone needs to get that commission. It responded by launching what a spokesman called "one of the broadest aerial operations in recent years". There was no immediate comment from Iran, whose deployment of troops to Syria to back the government in the country's civil war has alarmed Israel. Iran has repeatedly called for an end to the existence of the Jewish state. Israel's military had been anticipating an attack by Iranian forces after reportedly carrying out a number of strikes on their facilities in Syria in recent months. They included one o…

In I noticed there were hundreds of books that I've sold, over the last three years, through Amazon's affiliate program, for a penny! I, as the book seller, don't make any money (commissions on a $0.01 sale is $0.00) and the author does not make any extra money--that is assuming they made royalties off the book in the first place. I have to believe some of these books selling for a penny never made it into the marketplace. The the only entities who profit off of these sales are the shipping companies and Amazon. While the book costs one cent the shipping cost is usually $3.99, which is where the profit is generated. At any rate, I've listed below a f…

In an earlier post I mention there are no Black owned bookstores in Harlem. Technically that is true. But there are a couple of Black owned bookstores in Manhattan. Both can be found in my database of Black-owned Bookstores One of these stores is Sister's Uptown Bookstore which is run by Janifer P. Wilson. Her store is in Washington Height which, is the community just north of Harlem. Some people consider it part of Harlem. I believe they would be in the minority. Janifer, shown in the video below, recounts what drives booksellers who focus on celebrating our culture through books (including myself). There is another store, which appears to be Black owned, run b…

Hello, I'm writing from the University of Michigan Press with a book that should be of interest to your readers. Condition Red collects writing by one of America’s most gifted and revered poets, Pulitzer Prize winner Yusef Komunyakaa. While themes from his earlier prose collection, Blue Notes (which I believe you also reviewed), run through Condition Red, this volume expresses a greater sense of urgency about the human condition and the role of the artist. Condition Red includes his powerful letter to Poetry magazine, asserting that “we writers (artists) cannot forget that we are responsible for what we conjure and embrace through language, whether in essays, novels…

How about some good news! Every since the arrival of African-Americans in this country, the church has long been the bedrock of our survival, the foundation of our hopes, and the source of our inspiration. That much everyone knows to be true, but if you are like most people, you are well on your way to becoming a "spiritual millionaire" as you have (hopefully been racking up bonus points by practicing what you (or your ministers) preach, but after a lifetime of these earnings, you may not have ended up with anything in terms of physical rewards.
