  1. How about a head that reflects all the colours of Blackness
  2. I mention because it is a non mainstream Black Film. It's an independent so it's a bit quirky . It is worthwhile for you to watch. Less so for Pioneer
  3. Is happiness related to your ability to acquire what you desire?
  4. @Richardmurray I haven't seen Nope. I can't compare She's Gotta have it to Get Out. Peele's films don't break the fourth wall. Even though his films are somewhat SciFi/Horror, they still feel like you are watching the character's experience. I could be mistaken but there is no first person voice Spike's first three. Or it feels more like an ensemble than a lead actor You could argue that Lee had Blaxpoitation films as a genre. And Peele had Lee Snipes and Denzel. There is a little known film called Chameleon Street by Wendell Harris.
  5. Man ain't nobody here your B*tch
  6. That's an interesting request from someone who makes up his own definitions
  7. A person's position and how they function in that position demonstrate intelligence. We assess a persons intelligence in a variety of ways. However intelligence has a cultural bias and in this conversation it has a personal one as well. There are advantages to appearing to be dumber than you are in actuality. Some try to appear smarter than they are this doesn't work as well.
  8. I have been thinking about people's concepts of the way the world works. Maybe the ideas aren't true universally or perhaps there are unknown windows when and where they are true.
  9. Glad to hear you're on the mend. What was the pecking order?
  10. She was in Sparkle with Philip Michael Thomas
  11. Ernest Dickerson's camera work for Spike Lee was amazing. The scene in Mo Better Blues had the camera rotating around the bed, was an innovation. For me the biggest difference is that Jordan Peele's films are more nuanced. Whereas with Spike Lee it's more in your face. Plus the settings for Peele tend to be more suburban even rural. I think the best Lee movie was Inside Man. My favourite was She's Gotta Have it. I went to the premiere of Summer of Sam.
  12. When I said am albatross. I mean it so good that everything afterwards pales in comparison. Prince had that with Purple Rain and Michael Jackson had that with Thriller. Although I feel 1999 was a better album as was Off the Wall. If he just covers expenses he will have a harder time making films. Unless he has a commercial success.
  13. Get Out could be Jordan Peele's albatross.
  14. Get out had him picking cotton to save his life. I hadn't made that connection when, I saw the film. Also the house reminded me of a plantation. Even the way the help was dressed seemed more like slave clothing. However that could be a revisionist memory.
  15. We never stop to think how technology is changing us. I think he mentioned the expectation of instant response is effecting us as well . I am paraphrasing.
  16. Yes if I don't understand something how can I judge it's merits. It's like I thought the first Matrix was the best, until I heard the commentary track by Ken Wilber and Cornell West. The. I thought the second was better.
  17. I watched US and I felt that I didn't really understand what he was trying to convey. People living in the shadows while on part is in the light. Interesting that the nexus was an amusement park.
  18. Theodore Kaczynski was right about our relationship with technology. In addition it is probably shortening our attention span and ability to focus on one subject. It is most likely rewiring our brain and will result in neck and eye problems .
  19. Yes and what does the metaverse look in the future.
  20. @Stefan maybe do some "research" on how Blacks have fared I'm Spanish speaking countries like Cuba..
  21. Here's a well written and researched news article. Which may help you to see Trump differently. @Stefan https://www.forbes.com/sites/mattdurot/2022/11/04/hundreds-of-billionaires-donate-big-money-in-midtermsbut-trump-gives-nothing/
  22. It is not possible to know or impute this from their support of Trump. You claim to be reasonable and a critical thinker You ask a question or make a statement that sounds intellectual, then you undermine yourself with emotional arguments and your own sense of self importance. You make pronouncements, you aren't after anything short of total agreement and followers. You are half right, the only followers you are likely to get are not "smart". Instead of answering my observations you will most likely try an ad hominem argument. Or try to elevate yourself. Which will not convince anyone. Instead you will demonstrate the veracity of my superficial assesment. Or you may realise that you have made an error in judgement. I don't think you have either the ability nor the vision to succeed in this endeavour. You may also try to dismiss me as not worth your time. Welcome to the forum, let's see whether your am intellectual gladiator or dinner.
  23. Donald Trump knows America better than most. Which is why in 2014. I said I think he might win. He is a marketing genius and knows what his audience wants in a leader. He appeals to people who want to role back the clock and the wealthy. Which based on the numbers after he lost is roughly half of the country. Trump will be relevant because he can raise donations faster than anyone else. To count Trump out or think he is a complete idiot, suggests that your personal beliefs are blinding you're ability to be nuanced or read the situation. Why would Spanish speaking people create an alliance with Blacks? Is a more relevant question than how can black people court them. It won't work, you only have to look at the evidence, which your misperceptions of yourself and others prevents you from seeing.
  24. Maybe more evocative for some Maybe you still have questions or you're not bored yet
  25. 9@Cynique in 2008 I was looking for a magical language. Not realising that I was creating it. In the end I created three "languages" for words. Two for numbers and one for time. I have to say that they have changed the way I see the world. You are a blend of Solar Lunar energy, which is symbolise by the Tao and the Ankh. At some point you will know that you are Magus. Since you practice magical techniques without being taught. And you don't question whether they work or why these things come to you. I am honoured that you see me this way
